Every player has ALMOST won the game, but lost it in the end.

I practically won.(勝ったも同然だった) I didn't practically win.(勝ったも同然ではなかった/負けたも同然だった) I have practically won.(勝ったも同然だったことがある)? I haven't practically won.(勝ったも同然だったことはない)???
I have hardly won when I lose. (勝つか勝たないかって時に負ける) I haven't practically won when I lose.

I think that he can't speak English. I don't think that he can speak English. I don't think that he can't speak English. これは、 not ( I do think ) not ( he can speak English.) I think he can speak English.
I think that he can't... とI don't think that he can... I don't think that he can't speak... I haven't thought that he couldn't speak...
Nobody has [thought that he couldn't speak]. Nobody hasn't [thought that he couldn't speak]. Everybody has [thought that he couldn't speak]. Everybody hasn't [thought that he couldn't speak].
なぜhave NOT practically wonがhave almost wonと入れ替えられるのか。
There’s not an experienced player alive who 【hasn’t practically won the game on the tennis surface】 only to lose it in his head and in the final score.
I'm certain that every experienced player alive has an experience that he has practically won the game on the tennis surface only to lose it in his head and in the final score.
それがこの部分 hasn’t practically won the game on the tennis surface only to lose it in his head and in the final score.
There’s not an experienced player alive who〜 という表現を使いたくて、それに当てはまるように〜の部分を考えた。
>>24 >I haven't thought that he couldn't speak...
Everybody hasn't [thought that he couldn't speak]. Everybodyを使うなら(上の文で言おうとしていることとは違う意味になるけど) Not everybody [thought that he couldn't speak].
I can't read this book without thinking of my high school days.
Nobody HASN'T [HAD PRACTICALLY won the game only to lose it]. Everybody HAS [HAD ALMOST won the game only to lose it.
who [hasn’t][practically][won] the game on the tennis surface >888 確かに、↑ここの解釈もややこしいですね。
その結果、 who hasn’t practicallywon the game on the tennis surface only to lose it in his head and in the final score.

正確に言うならば only to lose it in his head and in the final score. これにthen か eventually を加えて only to lose it in his head and 【then】in the final score.

Two judges had it even and one judge had it for the contender. Im starting to wonder if Jorrin is ever going to lose that title as he seems to just keep on getting decisions. Jorrin has to be the weakest titlist in the world. . . that is aside from the WBA titlist that are under their super champs.

THURMONT,Md.(Reuters)−The Camp David Middle East peace summit Collapsed Tuesday after 15 days of intense negotiations, but U.S. President Bill Clinton insisted “significant progress” had been made toward ending the 52‐year Israeli‐Palestinian conflict. The fate of Jerusalem proved to be the chief stumbling block, but both sides,in a joint statement, pledged to avoid violence and unilateral actions and to keep seeking a negotiated settlement.
The fate of Jerusalem proved to be the chief stumbling block, but both sides, in a joint statement, pledged to avoid violence and unilateral actions and to keep seeking a negotiated settlement.
“Notwithstanding the failure to make agreement, they made real headway,” Clinton told a White House news conference shortly after talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian President Yasser Arafat finally broke down.
He described the negotiation as “like going to dentist’s without having your gums deadened” and said pressure to reach a deal would increase as they approached an agreed Sept.13 deadline, when Arafat has vowed to declare a Palestinian state unilaterally.
“The clock is still working against us,” Clinton said. In their joint statement, the leaders said, “The two sides commit themselves to continue their efforts to conclude an agreement on all permanent status issues as soon as possible.”
Barak blamed Arafat squarely for the failure and warned the region was being now thrust into “a period of considerable uncertainty.”
But senior Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat struck an upbeat note, saying he thought a final peace deal with Israel would be achieved soon despite the summit’s collapse.
“At Camp David, everything’s crystal clear...prospect for agreement on all permanent status issues are stronger than at any time in almost nine yeards,”he told reporters.

Asked whether it was now inevitable that the Palestinians would declare a state unilaterally in September, Erekat said, “I believe that the continuation of our efforts will produce an agreement no later than September 13.” Arafat left Washington without making a statement. Another Palestinian official said there was an initial understanding to resume negotiations in August. An Israeli official said there was no such understanding, but said a U.S. envoy would visit the region in a few weeks to assess prospects for more negotiations. “As far as the next negotiations,I haven’t heard anything about a new Camp David,” said Israeli Attorney General Elyakim Rubenstein, who took part in the marathon talks. “It’s the Palestinian decision at this point.”
There are always two games taking place during a tennis match: the one on the court and the one in your head. There’s not an experienced player alive who hasn’t practically won the game on the tennis surface only to lose it in his head and in the final score. Tennis is often compared to chess because of the almost limitless strategic alternatives and the enormous mental pressure that can increase as you play through your strategy. Keeping all this under control is what a good mental attitude is all about.

Without the pictures, Johnny Bright’s broken jaw probably would have been considered just another football injury. With fewer than eight minutes gone in the first quarter, and with the nation’s leading ground gainer out of the October20,1951 game,A&M later to become Oklahoma State −erased an early deficit and rolled to victory over previously unbeaten Drake University. It was not until the next day that Bright’s injury took on a more sinister cast. The Des Moines Register had devoted an entire page of the Sunday paper to a sequence of photos from the game. The pictures, which would earn a Pulitzer Prize for photographers Don Ultang and John Robinson, showed A&M defensive tackle Wilbanks Smith pummeling Bright on two separate plays.

Alone for a while I've been searching through the dark, For traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart, To weave by picking up the pieces that remain, Melodies of life - love's lost refrain. Our paths they did cross, though I cannot say just why. We met, we laughed, we held on fast, and then we said goodbye. Let them ring out loud till they unfold. In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me. Though you're gone. I still believe that you can call out my name. A voice from the past, joining yours and mine. Adding up the layers of harmony. And so it goes, on and on. Melodies of life

According to Aldridge ,Whitworth had noted a weakness in Bright’s game while studying films :When Bright was not carrying or throwing the ball, he stood in the backfield and rested. During practice, Whitworth emphasized that the defensive linemen should keep Bright “moving around” “ That meant he did’t want Bright resting ,” says Aldridge. “So if you don’t want somebody resting , You’re going to go back there and put a hit on him.” When Drake fullback Gene Macomber visited a stillwater barbershop for a trim the day before the game, he remembers that the barber “told me words to the effect that the black guy would not finish the game.” Life magazine wrote later that there were “even supposed to be betting pools on when the Aggies would get Bright.” “I did’t hear any rumors ,” says Joe Sotero, who played cornerback for Drake. “ But the coaching staff told Johnny to protect himself .... There are many traditional maxims about time which insist upon its brevity, upon the necessity of using it whilst it is there, upon the impossibility of recovering what is lost ; but the practical effect of these maxims upon conduct can scarcely be said to answer to their undiniable importance.

One day, I was walkin' down the streets Looking for anything, Any surprise Feel like a treasure game on a rayny day Then it happened suddenly I saw, I saw And there it was fallin' down into my feet Then, you know, it had something spiney head, And I was gonna touch it Then I got the pain, My fingers painted in blood, but I feel so fine. The storongest and most instinctively compelling of social groups was , and still is, the family. The family is necessitated among human beings by the great length of infancy, and by the fact that the mother of young infants is seriously handicapped in the work of food gathering. It was this circumstance that with human beings, as with most species of birds, the father an essential member of the family group. This must have led to a division of labour in which the men hunted while the women stayed at home.
The twentieth century in Europe was short and bloody. The next century already promises to be filled with a complexity to rival the last. We review key terms from Modernism, and see where they fit in the new transnational civilization of CNN, Balkan conflicts, globalized localism, internet business, gaudy Hollywood cultural imperialism, the visual arts and media in general. Mong terms to be visited, then reconceived: Surrealism, Futurism, Dadaism, Constructivism, Situationism; the "flaneur," the "bricoleur," avant-garde, etc. We enter the spirit of a continent in world war, and re-imagine a continent in utter transformation, an era of the "electronic Baroque" for cities being turned into Baroque shopping malls. New systems, new grammars: in many ways we have left the twentieth century from both ends, back to Victorianism, and class alienation, forward to digital fantasies and global turism.
The pleasure of discovery differs from other pleasures in this, that it is shadowed by no fear of excessive gratification on the one hand or frustration on the other.

I see a shadow every day and night. I walk a hundred streets of neon lights, only when I'm crying. Can you hear me crying. There 's an ocean between us. You know where to find me. You reach out and touch me. I feel you in my own heart. More than a lifetime. Still goes on forever. But it helps to remember you're only an ocean away. Was there a moment when I felt no pain. I want to feel it in my life again. Let it be over now. Oh oh over now. Cause I remember all the days and nights we used to walk the streets of neon lights. Oh I want you here with me. Oh be here with me.

So I'll start the revolution from my bed Cos you said the brains I had went to my head Step outside the summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out
So Sally can wait, she knows its too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger I hear you say
Take me to the place where you go Where nobody knows if it's night or day Please don't put your life in the hands Of a Rock n Roll band Who'll throw it all away

>788 The ball lay on the ground, wanting to be thrown. 「
The ball lay on the ground and wanted to be thrown.

People who come to America must have an interest in politics and citizenship. In a democracy, the citizens must speak much and often. They must constant criticize their present society so that it will become a better society for a greater number of people.

A decade ago, American businessmen were poring over Japanese management manuals, American factory workers were bristling at condescending remarks by Japanese leaders, and Japanese finance officials were lecturing President George Bush about his economic recession and daunting budget deficit.
This time the lectures will be from the Americans. From the supermen of a decade ago, Japanese officials are now seen as the world's slow- learning schoolboys, greeted by lectures at every turn, most recently at the World Economic Forum in New York and a meeting in Ottawa of finance ministers.

Yesterday I went to Yoshinoya, the most famous beef bowl chain in Japan. There were so many people that I couldn't sit in the counter. Then, I happened to see the billboard that said,"Discount \150" Were the Yoshinoya staff fool or crazy? Hey, you, the not so frequent comers in Yoshinoya, don't come to Yoshinoya attracted by the "discount \150"! It seemed that the four people were a family. The family in Yoshinoya! Were they serious? The father said I would order Tokumori, the biggest size in the shop. I was embarrassed to see you! Make room for me, and I will give you \150.
Yoshinoya should be barbarous. It should have the situation in which quarrels with the person across the U-designed table, killing with knives. I like the situations. Women and children, don't come there!
I could sit at last! Hearing what the person next to me, he or she said, "Oomori-tuyu-daku please", which meant a large serving and a large amount of sauce, please. What? This went out of fashion now. Be careful, a fool! You ordered Oomori-tuyu-daku proudly, did you? I want to continue to discuss that you really want to eat Oomori-tuyu-daku, well, for one hour! Do you want ONLY to say Tuyu-daku ? From the Yoshinoya expert's point, the more fashionable order between Yoshinoya experts is Negi-daku, a large amount of leeks. Oomori-negi-daku, many Negis and a little beef, is most fashionable.
The most powerful order is Oomori-Gyoku-daku, a large amount of eggs I don't want to persuade this to amateurs because you would be watched from the next visit to Yoshinoya. In short, because you would be in a double-edged situation. You had better eat a set lunch of Gyu-zyake, a set lunch of beef and a part of salmon
Series of retaliation against the Sep.11 attacks drew criticism on US army. There is no saying Washington has the audacity to drop countless bombs to innocent Arabs. I wonder why Tokyo as having an exclusive experience of atomic bomb's exposurer did not object to the attack on Afganistan. Koizumi's arrogant suport for US army might result in further economic crisis.
