I actually teach illustration to individuals, though I have never done classes on distance. Since my work is very personal/visual I prefer to have my students nearby. I live in Europe, so there is a little spatial challenge we have. But you are very enthusiastic and I do not want to "reject" you as a pupil only because of the distance. In 1996, he created Séance, by James Wood, for Soprano, Vibra-Midi and the New London Chamber Choir. His very innovative use of the vibra-midi opened new instrumental perspectives.
As a soloist or with the ensemble Accroche-Note, Emmanuel Séjourné has performed in numerous festivals : Zurich, Archipel Genève, Ars Musica, Musica Strasbourg, Huddersfield, Ultima Oslo, the Zagreb Biennale, the Venice Biennale.. and for concert broadcasts by Radio France, BBC, WDR, RTA, Norwegian Radio.

the composer : Fascinated by the relations between music and other performing arts, M. Séjourné started composing stage music as early as 1984. He has written pieces for the Théâtre des Drapiers, the Wallgraben Theater ( Germany), the MAL/TJP Company, with which he won the prize for Best Stage Music at the Festival d’Avignon off in 1985 for the show La Légende Des Siècles, inspired by Victor Hugo’s work. In 1988, on the occasion of the Bimillenium of the City of Strasbourg, he composed the music for Les Envahisseurs for the Ballet du Rhin. He also collaborated to musical pieces for France-Culture and for TV channels, including ARD, ZDF and ARTE. Acclaimed by members of the percussion community, his works have been played by Bob Van Sice, Nancy Zeltsman, Marta Klimasara, Katarzyna Mycka, Jean Geoffroy, the Amsterdam Percussion Group, Drumming (Portugal). His passion for the stage has led him to write and compose Planète Claviers for the Percussions Claviers de Lyons, a piece commissioned for the Festival Gramme, directed by Nicolas Ramond. Eager to bring together improvised, contemporary and popular music, he wrote Famim in 2001, for the famous jazz pianist Michael Borstslap and the Amsterdam Percussion Group.
In 2002, he composed a Concerto for Three Percussionnists and Harmony (a commission from Adim for the Harmonie of Héricourt), which has since then been performed by the Orchestra of La Coruna ( Spain) and the Rundfunk Blasorchester Leipzig. Always fond of blending various genres, he composed the music for the fireworks for the National Celebration of Luxembourg in 2002. On a request from American percussionists Gary Cook and John Pennington, he wrote Book of Gemmes, a piece for mixed choir and two percussionists, created on November 20th 2003 in Louisville, USA.

Henry Poole is well known for the first and the oldest tailor in Savile Row. When I thought I would have a suit made to measure in Savile Row, one of my friends who is an expert of custom suits and a member of a Gentlemen's club in London recommended me to choose Henry Poole. Then, I contacted to Mr. George Glasgow in G.J.Cleverley and asked him to introduce me to Henry Poole. This is the third order in Henry Poole and it is the new three-piece suit in 2-button. The material is gray striped super120's wool by Edwin Woodhouse in Huddersfield. Through two fittings, the suit was delivered this March. To tell the truth, I ordered typical three button style but result was different. However, I've got tired of the same 3-button jackets so I immediately accepted 2-button style. Henry poole's fitting is a bit different from the same British tailor as Fallan & Harvey. Poole 's jacket strikes wearers as grasping both shoulders from back but Fallan & Harvey's jacket makes an impression on stepping on the shoulders. I like both but I've understood that every tailor has their own way for fitting. Next time, I will order a Jacket & trousers.

Nicholas Storey's History of Men's Fashion: What the Well Dressed Man is Wearing is now available in the United States (though at a considerably higher price than Amazon UK is currently asking for it). Well researched, it's a slim, idiosyncratic but, in the end, very worth while work that displays what I imagine to be Storey's biases as a former British barrister. For example, he devotes considerably more pages to formal and semi-formal dress than he does to general day wear, by which he means the suit that, in America at least, has generally replaced morning dress and evening clothes as the most formal dress in the relatively few closets that contain them. Suits, that is. And so, for all its importance near the top of the contemporary dress pyramid, I do not think that the pages on the lounge suit do it justice. On the other hand, I enjoyed Storey's discussion of leisure, casual and sporting dress, despite some surprising assertions. For example, and for no stated reason, he warns against gray flannel trousers with blazers, and states that the tan cavalry twill trousers that, in combination with the blazer, constitute the English uniform are equally inappropriate.
Throughout the book, Storey does a thorough job of mentioning contemporary sources for each item of clothing as he discusses it, though his world view means that the sources for the items he mentions are, with few exceptions, located in London. That attention to detail extends to coverage of some remarkable items, like the Sola topee, or pith helmet, and a wonderful extract from a 1914 lecture by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch titled 'On Style.' The section on Necessary Accessories is typical. In one long paragraph Mr. Storey provides very useful advice on miscellaneous jewelry (after beginning by stating that he will not), not only on cufflinks but also pins for formal day wear and collar studs for shirts with detachable collars. Eccentric, perhaps, by contemporary standards but to my knowledge there has been nothing like History of Men's Fashion published in the past fifty years.

A small gathering of neighborhood friends in a typical suburban community are having a small dinner party to honor the local Dr. Stockton's birthday at his house. As panic ensues, the doctor locks himself and his family into his basement bomb shelter. The same gathering of friends becomes hysterical and now wants to occupy the shelter. All of the previous friendliness has vanished and is now replaced with bitter hate and soaring desperation as pent-up hostility and suppressed emotions boil to the surface. The end is moments away and everyone's mind is now vehemently poisoned by the clawing desire to survive, at any cost - the feelings of a neighbor, the sanctity of a friend's home, friendship itself, or the raw submission to violence. The last scene shows the once-friendly neighbors breaking down the door to the shelter with an improvised battering ram. Just then, a final Civil Defense broadcast announces that the objects have been identified as harmless, falling satellites, and that no danger is at all present. The neighbors apologize for their behavior, but Dr. Stockton wonders if they had not destroyed themselves, even without a bomb.

I failed to do so, but in the process, Kel began to tell me about why he was searching for this friend; I asked a question or two about things I did not understand, we got to talking ... and by that, a contact between two persons started evolving that took us on a journey to beautiful spots as well as to dreadfully saddening and downright dangerous spaces. I came to become an influence in Kel's life; someone who listened to him, who also felt what he said, who thought about it and then answered. And there was lots of things going on in Kel's life; most of them, at that time, indeed, painful, strenuous, saddening, like being bullied at school every day. Some of these things, though, also wonderful and downright hilarious.
We shared many of these things, and I did all I could - by building up self-esteem in Kel, by boosting his courage and make him see that even the weak are not entirely helpless, and even the lonely are not really alone. We've accomplished a lot together, Kel and I. He had a good life ahead of him, that of I was sure, and so was he. Though not without problems, the prospects were good, and he saw his chances ... But a tragic accident (to say the least!) ended the life of Kel, before he could make this fresh start that he was about to venture. It is so terrible what happened ... ... and yet - every sad ending to something may bear some saplings of something good, if you just know where to look within yourself, to make that happen. I have found these things in me, although I had to work myself through the debris that was left of my heart, after Kel died, and the smoldering ashes of my belief that life is good. I found things, and I know now how to carry on. I found things that are worth pursuing, and these things originate in Kel, receive their energy from all the loads of experiences I had and made with him, and these things will make a difference, even if it is just a small one. Kel's death was an outrageous, tragic and unnecessary loss. But he will live on, and Kel's message will be heard. We'll make it. You'll see.
