Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And let's hope the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!
I forgot how long I haven't taken a bath. I think it's more than 5 days but less than 7days.
In Japan, it's been summer like days even though it still is May. I smell really bad. Even Shakespear can't describe how I smell bad. Dostoevski can't either. I stink. I mean it. I think I'm fermented.
I looked up climate data for Japan. Summer doesn't seem too bad there. The highest averages were 31-32C. Here in Texas, the summer average is usually over 35C.
>>7 I doubt Canadian literary magnets can discribe my BO, too. I'll fill me smell in a small bin and send it to you if you want. It would be useful when you are burning a midnight oil because my smell is in a way stimulous and you don't fall into sleeping.
>>8 Japan's humid hot so just comparing temperature isn't enough.
You can go to Hokkaido, northern biggest island in summer to avoid scorching weather. Since I'm NEET, I'll settle for sweating and fermenting and rearching and developing new stimulous perfume in my room.
It's getting very common thing for me not to take a bath 5 days or more. I'm like, "well, I think I took a bath maybe, the day before yesterday, so I don't have to take a bath tonight."
My pillow is real sticky so gotta wash it. I have to wash my hair, too. I tried combing through my pubic hair with my fingers and smelled them. I almost vomited and fainted.
>>16 Be careful not to read my posts or else you'll vomit.
>>17 I'm not a hard-core hikikomori but semi-hikikomori. I haven't been out for three weeks when you can see the sun. At night, I go to convenience store once in a four or five days.
I've read a few stories of people who played and got so addicted to games like Starcraft and World of Warcraft that they died from lack of food / sleep. There was also a story of a couple of let their infant die because they spent a long time at an internet cafe to play MMORPGs.
The world is full of sorrow. I think girls all around the world hope Korean guys will get over it and want to see Korean guys smile for them. I want to tell those girls in the world who know what pains mean their condolences mean a lot to Korean guys who will in return make the world smile. Korean guys and girls all around the world strengthen spiritual bonds that way. They can't never be apart. Girls anywhere in the world need Korean guys, while Korean guys need girls living on this planet. They need each other. The world needs to get over the sorrow.
Girls all around the world say they felt more dear to Korean guys when they saw Korean guys shed tears and they also claimed that that brought tears to their eyes. Yes, Korean guys know what sorrow means. I think those girls were impressed at how very nice Korean guys really are. Girls all around the world are certain Korean guys have many aspects and that makes girls everywhere more interested in Korean guys.
>The world's largest online community is grappling with challenges it faces in protecting intellectual property rights (IPR), says an expert. >The US Congressional International Anti-Piracy Caucus on Wednesday listed China as one of the world's five-worst offenders in violating copyright. The other four nations were Canada, Mexico, Russia and Spain. >But Wang Chunyan, an expert in intellectual property studies at Renmin University of China, said the nation, with an online population of 316 million, is taking on the challenges.
According to a news article, Canadaian people don't know what IPR is. I think Canadian girls are eager to watch Korean dramas on the Internet.
Canada is ranked within the 5 countries violationg copyright? I used to think Canada was a good country, but it seems I was wrong. Korea isn't in the bad countries. I breathed a sigh of releaf. But don't worry, Canadian girls, Koran guys wouldn't discriminate against you because your country is considered worst in protecting copy-righted materials. But I hope you Canadian girls will make it a rule to buy Korean Wave stuffs instead of downloading them. Korean guys are still believing in Canadian girls as a token of friendship.
>>26 How very nice of Korean guys are! I believe one of the reasons why Korean guys are very popular among girls all over the world is because they are very generous compared to other people apart from the fact that Korean guys are manly, sexy, hot, gentle, and romantic. Canadian girls will be touched at your message to them.
>>27 Now I understand why Korean guys are popular with girls. Korean guys set an example of what guys should be like. Korean guys are mesmerising beyond comarison.
>>27-28 Exactly. :) It's partly Korean guys' fault as to why Canadian girls illegally download Korean Wave stuffs because Korean guys are really appealing to girls. That's why I can't blame such girls. Korean guys draw attentions from girls all around the world. I'm pround of it. :)
>>30 I hope this thread will be full of love and romance. That's what girls want most. More and more female posters will join us. The world should know Korean guys are bringers of romance to everywhere in the world. So I was really excited at the news that Korean Wave is reaching every place in this dry world. :)
Anyway, tonight I saw the new terminator movie...it was pretty sick I guess. I liked Star Trek better. Anyway, after that I had to walk home so I picked up some beer for the way home...and now I'm drunk :3
I have two things to say: 1) How many of you own panties? -_^ be honest. 2) I got Japanese typing installed right and...よじびおめはにかはすごいですね。
>>31 More and more girls are getting interested in Korean guys now thanks to Korean Wave. That's for sure. As a matter of fact, girls everywhere are talking a lot about Korean guys. And it seems non Korean girls all around the world are jealous of Korean girls because Korean girls have a good chance to meet Korean guys. Probably Korean guys tend to choose Korean girls, but many girls all around the world are looking for any chance to find a Korean guy. :)
Lol! That is a pretty neat video, the drink looks like vodka which is my favorite to drink. Unfortunately tonight I was too poor to afford vodka so I got some cheep beer, like a salaryman. :3
Ah okay I will keep this in mind, but I just found out about this artist yesterday and I love his music. Since I can type in Japanese now I was thinking about making a thread for music only on this board. It would be called 英語で雑談の音楽. Is this right for saying "Music chat, in English"? I'm not sure but I think it's right.
If it is right I'll make this thread later, I'm lazy now.
>>38 I think it more natural to say, "英語で音楽を語ろう” and this way the thread will draw more attention. But I also think a thread with a more specific title would be better to draw 2ch'er's attention.
>>38 Yeah, it's a famous Korean drink. It's popular all over the world. It's called Jinro. I think you have ever drunk it somewhere. If you haven't, I'm way too sure you'll addicted to it. It's another type of Korean Wave. :)
>>37 You can do it by bbs2chreader. But you ought to use "Chaika" which is firefox addon. Because development of bbs2chreader seems like almost stopping since last summer.
There are some notes. It's Beta release still. Chaika can't coexist with bbs2chreader. Therefore you must uninstall bbs2chreader before installing Chaika.
According to the famous and influencial Finnish newspaper, Seoul - the capital city of Korea - is considered New York in Asia. The news also says that Korean people are well groomed in appearance, which makes foreigners interested. You know, Korean guys are considered white in Asia and this time it's revealed Seoul is considered to be New York in Asia. No wonder girls all around the world worship Korea and Korean guys. I'm proud of it!! :)
I've known two Korean girls, and they were both complete psychopaths. I watched a Korean movie ages ago called 'My Sassy Girl', and the girl in that was a psychopath. And in Lady Vengeance, she was a psychopath.
I'm not saying Koreans are bad people, but there's a pattern forming...
>>52 You are retarded. It shows in your post. You must have been rude to the girls. That's why they treated you as vermine. Don't try to ridicule Korean people. You are horribly under-educated. If you paid respect to Korean people, they'd treat you better. One sad thing is, you don't know why you were treated badly and considered it wasn't your fault. Or are you just jealous of Korea? You must be. It's called sour grape in English. You want something that you can't get and you say something bad because you are jealous. Many people say Koreans are really nice. You should admit that.
>>53 You seem to be forgetting that Koreans are descended from the British. About one and a half thousand years ago, the first settlers landed on the Korean peninsula, having sailed all the way from the British Isles. A lot of Korean tradition has, therefore, come from the ancient British ways of life (of course, it was just from one of Britain's kingdoms back then, as it was not a united country). Kimchi, for example, comes from the Gaelic British words 'Chim', meaning cabbage, and 'Chee', which was a method of preserving foods to last through the winter. You'll find many more similarities between Korean and Gaelic British language.
>>61 No. Korea is notorious for claming everything popular around the world originate in Korea. For example, many Japanese restaurants such as sushi and tempura restaurant in America are run by Korean. They know Japanse dish is popular so they open Japanese restaurant pretending to be Japanese.
The taste of sushi and tempura is diferent from that of Japan's. They serve low quality what they claim Japanese dish. I read Japan's government organiazation has started a survey regarding how many Korean serve fake Japanese dish.
Would anyone in the know tell me how the press to the final is like? I almost understand the description below but not sure.
"The first live semi-final is on Sunday evening, ITV1 at 8.30pm, followed by further semi-finals on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Two acts from each semi-final will go through to the live grand final on Saturday May 30th. Make sure you check back here after each semi-final to find out who went through and to get the low-down on each act."
How many people(group counted as one) moved to semi-finals in the first place? 40? The first semi-final was aired and Susan and the dancer group was selected. Do they go to the final on Saturday, May 30th?
It says there are also shows on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday On each day, two peoiple(group) is selected? If so on Friday, 2X5=10 people is supposed to be selsected as of next Friday. 10 people will compete on Saturday in the final?
If 40 contestants were devided into 5, each consiting of 8 contentants, how was the persedure like? Just drawing?
>>73 The contestants where whittled down from around 250 to 40 on last Saturday's show. The semi-finals are then split into 5 rounds, each round containing 8 acts. At the end of each of these five shows, whoever gets the most votes from the public goes through to the final (on the 30th). The judges choose another act from whoever came 2nd and 3rd in each semifinal, and they go to the final too. So yes, the final will have 10 acts: 5 voted by the public, and 5 voted by the judges (from the runners-up of the public votes).
>>73 Oops... forgot to address the part about procedure for splitting... I think they're supposed to have been put into random groups, though I think there was a bit of manipulation to make the most likely acts get through.
British guys mesmerise all Asian girls around the world as they are sexy, smart, manly and literally gentle. Also, they are good cooks, never fail to satisfy girls in bed, but not in the least bit afraid to take cruel vengeance upon unfaithful girls if necessary. At the same time, they could be sensitive enough to have girls talk with their ladies if they needed to, which most guys never can handle by any means. Yes, B-guys are the real men to look up to, the men who should earn the dignity of being addressed as "Mr." No wonder a great many Asian girls are all over them. I'm really proud of it. :)
North Korea conducted an nuclear experiment somewhere underground just now. According to the news, N. Korea's aim is to drag America into negotiation and draw reconcilement. I think Obama and our prime minister will be tested now.. Hope America won't let thing go well for N.Korea.
>>82 Was it a nuclear bomb test? When I turned on TV an hour ago, the news that in North Korea, magnitude 4 point something was measured was reported. I didn't pay attention to the news so don't know the detail but maybe that was the news reporting underground nuclear bomb.
hi guys It's been long time i have'nt come here.I read just anyway at all. well YukiNagato nice to meet you. im also living in canada,in fact in vancouver. anyway "fuck up" means to do sth badly or make a bad mistake. so that sentence may mean like masochism or much confidence at it. I think you better avoid using four letter words or derivatives of them till you get skills enough.
>>85 Yeah, it seems so. The international society should tighten the economic sanctions on N.Korea this time. I wouldn't think this leads to war now, but we should do something. As for Japan, it should take precautions to monitor the Korean embassy in Japan not to send any money and mechanical parts to N.Korea. Obama might think it's no big deal if N.Korea has nuclear weapons since he keeps economic sanctions lifted, but N.Korea keeps trying developping ballistic missiles and compact nuclear heads. Should they succeed in this, it'll be fatal. Preemptive attacks on the N.Korean nuclear factories must be considered this time as an option, IMO. Damn it, only Japan could do now is just wait for nukes to expload somewhere within Japan's territory. I feel really bitter. N.Korea takes advantage of the peaceful Japanese Constitution.
>>91 To attack them without good reason to believe they are going to fire nukes would create a war with many losses. No one wants war, especially nuclear war. Nuclear bombs being fired is the last resort, their main purpose should be to stop war. However there is no telling what might happen.
>>74-75 Thank you for the input. I think when they divide 40 contestants into 5 semi-finals, they sort of manipulate as you say. I think Susan isn't the best but Simon said before even if she doesn't win the contest, she'll be a pro or something like that. I less mesmerised with her this time than the first time I saw her sing on yuotube. As you said before, the gap between her looks and singing ability magnifes her reputation.
But she is supported by people worldwide, including me, although it includes the factor of sympathy vote. If the winner is decided by the number of phone calls, Susan will win.
Normally anything they want unless it's a private school. They don't allow clothing with vulgar slogans either. Also, if a skirt is too short or the clothes show too much skin you might get sent home.
>>105 Never seen that. Usually, the second monitor is the same as the first monitor. Plus in most cases it is a desk top PC. Yout neck would heart if you place the second monitor that far. Side by side is the best. I don't know much about PC so I respect you develp your own PC environment where you make your PC Dual monitor.
1) What are those cans? Some look like empty soda's cans and some look like gas cans used to make fire. Are they spray cans to kill cockroaches?
2) Show me where you hide your porn photo books. Maybe under your bed? Maybe you answer they are on your Hard Disc of your PC.
3) What are thick books on the bottom of the bookshelves about?
I don't really look at both at the same time, and my chair is easy to turn so it won't hurt my neck.
1) Energy drink cans 2) I don't have much right now, I only have a folder with maybe 50 pics of the girls from lucky star. 3) they are about: -Ghosts -The Mafia -Slash from Guns and roses -Pink floyd -A murder story from 19th century Britain.
Nothing too special, I have a library in the house. I'll take a picture of it soon since it has way more books.
Today is Memorial Day. Unfortunately, most of the veterans from WW2 have passed their expiration date. I don't think Americans want to remember the Vietnam vets. It seems much less enthusiastic this year than usual, not that it ever was to begin with.
The one about Ghosts is just short stories so I've read some of it. I haven't read the one on the mafia but the two books about the rockstars I've read. I do have some thick books on programming, but one of them isn't here and I think I put the others away.
>>109 What's "have passed their exiration date?" Is it euphemistic way of "all dead"?
>>110 My sister sent me Bill clinton's memoir. That's a really thick hard coverbook. It's so thick that I am not motivated to turn even one page. Now it is just covered with dusts.
No, it was a story written by an anonymous person and most of it is true- as far as historians can tell. Jack the ripper is a much more famous story than this one.
>>119 I think it's clowdy or fine. It's night so I don't bother to go outside to see the weather nor open the windows and curtain to check the weather.
At least there's no sound of raing coming from outside. It's just my BO coming into my nose. I haven't taken a bath for a week or eight days. I don't even know how many days I've skipped taking a bath. Anyway, this I'm sure is my personal record.
Many girls all over the world today see Korean guys as romantic, manly, smart, and sexy. Sure, that's all perfectly correct. Korean guys treat girls gently and nicely, meaning they are romantic. Korean guys go through a hard-studying experience, meaning they are quite smart. Korean guys train themselves both mentally and phisically, meaning they are manly and sexy. Those elements of Korean guys are appealing to girls all around the world. In addition, Korean guys are enjoying their popularity thanks to Korean Wave. Korean Wave gives girls all over the world a chance to see Korean guys on TV and the Internet. Those girls started to worship Korean guys since the Wave caught attention from the world media. Now quite a number of girls are dreaming of finding a Korean guy as their boyfriend/husband. We have to admit that Korean guys are most competitive under the current circumstance everywhere in this world. We should be proud of it!! :)
>>121 Every now and then, once or twice a year for around a month, some really bad fish-like stench emanates from me, even after I take a bath. I thought for a while it might be related to my masturbation habits, but even when I stop for a week or so, it doesn't stop immediately after that. When I'm on a train or so at a time like that, people who sit 2 meters away from me start sniffing and say things like "hm? Something smells like fish here... you smell it too?" to each other. Next time it happens, I think I should really see a doctor.
Compared to you, Korean guys' fragrance smells really good. That's another reason girls all around the world are attracted to Korean guys. You know, it's called hormone. Korean guys are girls' magnet, you know. Girls all around the world come near Korean guys without even noticing it. :)
some of you smell that way? I used to smell in a different way. i smet of wakiga, which is the smell that comes out from my arm pits when they are humid and very warm. it smelled so good that even myself felt good and my rod rose and grew big. youd hug me and smell it and press your penis on my thigh if you smell it.
>>122 You are absolutely correct. More and more girls are starting to realise that Korean guys are the hottest men of all in the world. I think it's safe to say that having a Korean boyfriend is considered to be a high status to acheive among girls who know what's in and hot now. Going out with a Korean guy, I'm sure you can boost your ego and get all positive attention from other girls, let alone find true happiness for yourself. Though, some girls get jealous and give you the cold shoulder and whatnot. That's not right at all, but mind you, it's not your fault either. So please don't make a big deal about it, since you are very very lucky girls. :) Too bad they can't find themselves a nice Korean boyfriend, but I'd have to say that's life, you know, considering how the demands for K-guys are getting greater and greater every day and night. Seriously, it's getting out of control, and having more than 2 K-guys in their bed room is just about every girl's romantic dream in this day and time. Oh, I almost forgot to mention this is all thanks to the popularity of Korean Wave all over the world!
>>127 thanks, that was really helpful. I've read a little bit about this disease (called Trimethylaminuria, scientifically) and that might just be it. Seems like there's not much that can be done about it, though... But yeah, I'll definitely see a doctor next time it gets bad.
>>112 Amanda Holden... I don't really watch anything she's in, but she was in a comedy sketch show with Harry Enfield, as well as a drama based in Africa called 'Wild at Heart'. She married a comedian called Les Dennis (it's almost impossible to think of him marrying anyone, let alone someone almost 20 years younger than him - he's popular with old people). They're divorced now though. As for her reputation, it's far from being clean and virtuous...
>>129 I couldn't agree more with your view on Korean guys. If you search on the Internet for fan sites of Korean guys, you'll notice how large a number of girls all around the world today are mesmerised with Korean guys. And let me add one more thing. Korean economy is growing bigger. Korea is going to play a leading part in G20, you know, G20 is the most important and influential economic group in the world. G7/8 was already taken over. Korea's influence on each country in the world are increasing culturally and economically. No wonder girls all around the world are interested in Korean guys. We should be proud of it! :)
Are some of you like, scared of bathes? Or you just forget? I'm curious.
Another thing, some of the threads here (中高生の英語の宿題・質問に答えるスレ) I feel like I could answer some of these questions, but I'm not sure because I don't know a few things- (like how the Japanese school system works) and I'm not sure I could maybe answer some of these questions correctly or with the proper Japanese. Do you guys think it would be helpful for some of these threads to get a real English speaker to give input? or would it not be helpful?
>>135 In almost all threads in English board and in some borads in 2ch, people who use fixed handle name can be a target of verbal abuse. That's because some people think 2ch should be a totally anonymous forum and being standing out with a handle name gets negative reactions from some people.
This thread seems to be kind of an exception because to show you're a native English speaker can benefit everybody in this thread. As far as I know, almost all questions in 中高生の英語の宿題・質問に答えるスレ is answered correctly by Japanese people. So there's no slots for native speakers to get in. But if you think you can answer questions there, it's up to you whether you join them or not. But don't get disapointed when you get backlash.
I don't mean to scare you and urge you to give it a second thought. I'm just telling you a possibility. I sometimes wish in a few Q&A threads native English were there when I see a question like these below.
1) Quesitions like "What does he say in this video/audio clip"? Not many Japanese, even if they're advanced learners, are good at listening spoken English.
2) "Which of two is better way of saying?" "What are differences in nuances between these two sentenses?" We can answer these questions based on grammar we learned but sometimes English nuances can't be explained by grammars and that's where you native English speakers come in. In questions like these, if you native English speakers assert "one is wrong, the other is right," then the questions are solved. That's it.
If you don't think you get offended even if you get a negative comment, just try. Who knows what will happen? I don't think whether you know Japanese school system or not has anything to do with your decision. Is that relevant? Anyway, good luck!
In here one person is asking whether "." as in "Jr." is (called) a period or dot. This I think is a kind of a question you can answer better than Japanese. I don't know which is the correct way of calling the "."
In the same thread, another person is asking when you say 脳のしわ in English, "crimple of the brain" is right way of saying.
Some google searches must help me answer that question right but still, I can give the person assurance.
Both crimple and wrinkle are translated as しわ in Japanese so I don't know which is correct when you talk about brain. Native English speakers can answer this type of question immediately, while we Japanese have to google or do some research on the web and still are not totally sure.
>>139 Nevermind I looked it up on wikipedia and there's no english casual equivalent. You might as well use the medical term (sulcus) or, at best, a general description (like a groove or depression).
>>134 There are countless numbers of girls all around the world who love Korean Wave and now Korean economy is getting larger than ever? Wow, I think Korea will excercise great power over many countries on the planet. 1) cultural power, and 2) economy power... Korean guys will be more popular considering the situation they are in now. :)
In a situation like this, a handle name is very helpful to tell who is a native English speaker. I guess both of you're native English speakers, though. Not sure. Thanks for your answers.
Okay, thank you. I definitely think I will just read these threads for now until I can understand the questions without much difficulty. Also, I don't have a problem with backlash from my tripcode- the same thing would happen on 4chan =P
>>133 Thank you for the information about her. She isn't clean and virtuous? That's against my impression on her. She doesn't look like a bitch. She looks natural. Women in her age tries too hard to look young, wearing thick makeup and all that but she wears natural makeup and that's one of the reasons why I have good impression on her. ....And armpits. lol
Wikipedia says, she's married with a record producer now. Between the first and the second marriage, she gave birth to a baby. I wonder who's his/her father.
>>154 Are you learning a foreign language as well? If that's the case, helping learners of your mother tongue is a really good way to improve "your" foreign language skills becuase a difficult point where learners of your first language get tripped up often reveals the difference in grammar, culture, the ways people see the world, and so on between your language and their language.
Actually I've been helping Japanese learners for years and it considerably improved my English. If you're learning Japanese but can't explain things well in Japanese yet, still you can help them by answering questions like "What are they saying in this video? I can't figure it out!" I think my English pronuciation has been improved that way too. I learned what kind of Japanese sound is difficult for English speakers through the process and it helped me to know how I am supposed to say a word.
LOADED on military transporters, four M109 Howitzers trundled down the Freedom motorway towards Seoul, as South Korea reinforced its capital.
"I have been watching army lorries moving up and down the motorway since yesterday," said Shim Hee-soon (73), in Imjingak, a village of 600 people that sits on the edge of the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ), the most heavily armed border in the world.
Haha, you guys are silly beans, really. But some people might take those K-jokes seriously, so let the truth be told for all to hear just in case.
Like I said, it is British guys who dazzle and mesmerise all sorts of girls around the world, not only Asian girls in reality. In addition to the fact British guys are generally perceived hot, sexy, manly, gentle, sweet as they are, many girls find their accent incredibly attractive when they speak. You know, it works like a magic spell of love and romance for girls whenever B-guys utter any word with their proper and original accent, it's not just that they sound like truely educated gentlemen, they do come off as really wild to girls. This is the point, guys. Wild, but nothing vulgar involved here. The way B-guys speak evokes a great deal of romanticism in girls. It's quite easy to understand the reason, though; the very fact that the British once carried their accent (as well as their flag) across the seven seas and dominated the entire globe in the way the world had never seen before. In short, girls know subconsciously, with their instinct to survive, who they really should fall for, that is the strongest of all mankind. Indeed, it is so mesmerising that girls can't resist B-guys speaking more than two sentences everytime they hear it! I'm proud of it. :)
Ah okay thank you, I might try to take more of a risk then. The foreign language I'm learning IS Japanese =P so I think it might be helpful to post more in the Japanese threads.
If I say something like "すみません、私は日本語の学生です”maybe this would help? I think I'm correct in believing that means "Sorry, I'm a Japanese student" It might be better to say "I'm learning Japanese" but I'm not sure how to say this.
I am not Japanese and I think that the Japanese military should be made into a proper army, instead of being only for 'self-defence', and having restricted armaments. What do Japanese think about this?
>>165 You might want to help English learners on non-anonimous forums because sometimes people on 2ch can be harsh. Either way, you'll be of great help.
As for "I'm learning Japanese," it'd be 私は日本語を学んでいます。 I've never said something like that when I help Japanese learners, but it'd be helpful especially when you're having trouble making yourself understood.
Thank you. And although it might be harsh I've withstood internet assaults before- it's common on 4chan and other places. It doesn't bother me =/ such people are trolls or people you don't want to associate with.
>>162 You seemed to get it in for Korean guys. :( British guys are considered racists, discriminating against people all around the world. That's why they aren't popular at all anywhere on this planet except for their own small island. Naturally, British guys are jealous of Korean guys like why we aren't popular with girls while Korean guys are or something. And they started telling people Korean guys are not so popular. It's sour grape. British people are only motivated to do things by that kind of sentiment, disturbing other people. :( Korean guys are considered white in Asia, but that doesn't mean Brits. Don't get cocky, Brits. It's often said among girls all over the world that Korean guys are like Italian guys whose characters Korean guys have a lot to do with. Korean guys are romantic and Italian guys are too. Korean guys love to treat nicely girls who are interested in Korean guys like Italian guys do.
There are many more things girls all over the world are interested in Korea and Korean guys about. One such thing is, Seoul is considered New York in Asia, you know, NY is one of the most interesting and energetic city in the world and people say Seoul is quite similar to NY. London? it's behind the time. Nothing in that city would appeal to girls all around the world today. I hear Brits are suffering from slumbering economy. They had it comming. No more energetic. lol It's understandable Brits are jealous of Korea now... But please don't think Brits moved to Korea in medieval ages. None of them was allowed in to Korean territory, IMO.
>>171 The article is pretty white-centric, and it is ridiculous that she thinks American society is more socially mobile than Japanese society is, but she is quite right about our economy.
If the U.S. wants to buddy up with China as a result of our economic demise, so be it. The biggest mistake our country made in the last fifty years was to blindly adopt American materialism anyway.
There's a bigger news coming in than North Korea's nuke test, Susan Boyle and world economic crisis.
You know what?
That is, I took a bath yesterday night for the first time in 8 or 9 days. I didn't know the exact number. I needed to wash my hair three times to get rid of stickyness of my hair. I wash my body 2 times. I even shampooed my pubic hair. Now I have skin of a newborn baby totally free from scurfs and smell.
This is CNN news reporting from Japan. Back to you.
>>175 >The biggest mistake our country made in the last fifty years was to blindly adopt American materialism anyway.
What else could we have done? We don't have natural resources so it's not surprising to fail in the end. Apparently we should have invested more on information technology and other intangible things so we could do better, but it has nothing to do with materialism per se.
Also, (insert a daily dose of offensive words hurled at a tripfag).
I'm a typical hikikomori. A while ago, some of my relatives visited my house. So I took shelter in my room and stayed put to avoid them. But, my brother, one of the relatives, entered my room suddenly. And he slapped my face without any hesitation, saying "Until when will you entirely rely on your parents and stay in this room? Don't be a drama queen!!!"
Who would have expected this? It was like a familiar scene from a fucking drama. Geez, my face is still throbbing with pain.
If you can say that much I think you're okay, if that was in Japanese I -might- be able to understand it but that's a stretch.
Also I don't think the Japanese economy is as bad as that article might portray, we have to remember that it was china who bought up most of Americas debt. Japan might of adopted some of the materialism but I don't think this will be a downfall for the economy.
Everyone is in a shitty situation, it's bad in Canada too =/ My dad hasn't had work for about 8 months now.
>>193 Thank you for your answer. The point of this question was that it sounds odd to call . as in Jr. and Mr. period because period is used to finish a sentence and . in Jr. and Mr. is not at the end of a setence.
Seems like you can call it whatever you like. Thank you.
Do you watch Britain's got talent? Who do you think will win? I don't know how the winner will be decided on the Final. If it is decided solely on telephone call, Susan will win. I think Diversity'll win.
>>201 I've seen that video before. Seeing this makes me so mad because when I visit Japan, I know I'll be seen as a disrespectful foreigner just like that even though I would never do such a thing.
I think that's ridiculous, those guys are drunk assholes. There's no way they could be sober. I would never do something like that and I really hope most Japanese don't picture all foreigners like this.
The weird thing is, those aussie guys look naturally blended into the scenery in the video, just like every other Osaka citizen. I think you could say he was successfully being integral part of Osaka that morning.
The dictionary I normally use doesn't even have that word. Had to resort to this Webster dictionary from 1913 to find a definition: Laodicean \La*od`i*ce"an\, a. Of or pertaining to Laodicea, a city in Phrygia Major; like the Christians of Laodicea; lukewarm in religion. --Revelation iii. 14-16. Haven't read that part of the bible yet...
When the MC announced the top three, he said, "I don't announce in order of who got the most telephone vote. I understand that. Then he announced, the third, the second and the winner. Is the order totally totally based on the telephone vote? In the final, the judges don't have says to decide who'll win?
>>215 I've read somewhere that a guy in Japan actually sued the state to legally recognize his marriage of a fictional 2D-character. Dunno if he was successful, though.
What I don't understand is that it seems that the half naked dad and son has good reputations. To, me it's like two chubby persons are dancing. No more no less. What part of the father and son appeal to British people. Humor? If British people praise the love between father and son, I for one would vote for the love between grand daughter and Grand dad. Forgot the group's name.
hi! did you live in England or travel there? i haven't read all of your blog but i guess you are good at english. right? if so, i hope you write your blog in english once a month or so. it's good for you to improve your english, anyway i'm looking forward to your updates either in english or japanese. bye for now
yeah! I was very impressed that you had a great command of english, your english is far better than most junior high students'. but one thing that i can say is why don't you write "don't know" instead of "dunno", mates instead of "m8s" and so on. because most japanese, especially your blog readers, can't understand what you write. you know, we are not taught how to abbreviate words at school:-(
Haven't taken a bath for three days and I'm getting smelly. It seems like three days is a threshold of whether you stink or not. After three days of not taking a bath, you are like on a roler coaster ride to Mr. Stink
>>240 >I want some Canadian. Are there any Canadians here? >Is your pronaucation of English is like British? or American? Do you have a British or American accent? >and how do you spells? Do you use British spellings or American spellings.
I take it this is what you mean? I am not from Canada but to answer, since Canada is part of the Americas, they have an North American accent overall. Of course there are the local spellings and accents for any given area, but over all North American English.
>>242 Thanks for correcting my poor English. So Canadians say "today" as トゥデイ not like トゥダイ as British? What is the local spellings? Are they use color or coluor?
>>232 No, but I tried once before. I tried with my girlfriends clothes and wig. I looked completely ugly, so I decided not to try again. If I would have looked cute I would have tried some more times.
>>244 I'm American, but I know some Canadians who spell it "color". Although it could just be a local thing, or just them. I don't know what the standard is there.
>>244 the way most North Americans will say it would be トゥデイ. although this can differ in different parts of north america. ever heard a new england accent?
It's really silly to try to express English sounds in katakana. Because you cannot. That's why kids are saying: ジス イズ ザ ペン。 ジス イズ マイ ファーストォ タイムゥ。 What is the point?
American girls think Korean guys are smart, gentle, romantic, sexy and hot. French girls think Korean guys are perfect as their husband. Germany girls think Korean guys are mesmerising and interesting to spend time with. Chinese girls think they prefer to marry Korean guys. Italian girls think Korean guys are the cutest thing ever. Japanese girls think Korean guys are better than Jap guys. Russian girls think Korean guys are passionate and charming. English girls think Korean guys are beautiful and educated. Spanish girls think Korean guys are energetic and fun. Canadian girls think they are the best fans of Korean guys. Mexican girls think they need Korean guys.
When I was taught the truth Korean guys are quite popular all around the world, I was amazed to see how enthusiastic girls all around the world were so interested in Korean guys. But I must admit to you that I felt really good at that. :)
>>264 None taken, good sir. However, I would like to humbly interject that if I interpret your post correctly, it appears that you are mistaken; I do not hail from the Land of the Rising Sun, I can assure you that I am quite German indeed. >your words sounded like a heavy form of sarcasm I see what you mean. War aber nicht boese gemeint. Really, don't mind me and my sorry excuse for humor, just enjoy your stay.
You would spell color "colour" if writing a school essay, or if you live more than 100 kilometers from the border I think. I live very close to the border, so we spell it "color"
Korean guys are highly popular among German girls and Taiwanese girls too. German girls say Korean guys are the most famous Asian country that have hot and sexy guys, while Taiwanese girls say Korean guys represent Asian guys. Both of them respect Korean guys. If you search on the net, you'll see how many of them are already mesmerised with Korean guys. :) One of the reasons why girls all around the world are interested in Korean guys are partly due to Korean Wave. According to many websites all around the world, the influence of Korean Wave is dominant in the world today. That's why people, especially girls of course, are greatly intrigued in Korean culture and Korean guys. If you ask me, another reason is that Korean high-tech cool products are selling big all over the world. Those products help improve Korea's national brand image. You know, it's quite natural people view Korean people as highly educated and smart, based on the fact those products are developed by Korean guys. :) Those two images - sexy and hot, and smart and educated - should be shared among girls all around the world. :P
Girls all around the world say they love Korean guys because Korean guys are manly, sexy, smart, gentle and self-confident. They are perfectly correct. That's why girls all around the world exclaim on the Internet that they want to find a Korean date. I'm proud of it. :)
GM is finally bankrupt. There's a big chance for Korean auto industry to be successful in American market. You know, it's said that Hyundai cars are really competitive under the current situation. The news says that Japanese cars are too costly and chinese cars are too cheap, while Korean cars are quite reasonable, you know, Korean cars are well equipped, good-designed, and reasonably priced. American people choose to buy Korean cars. :D I'm quite sure more and more American girls will turn their eyes on Korean guys and see that Korean guys are mesmerising. A lot of American girls are interested in Korean guys even now, though. Anyway, I'm proud of it! Korean cars will be sweeping America!

You made my day in the favor, thanks so long!
Obama should make a BUY-KOREA law. American people already can't live a sigle day without Korean high-tech products. American people need high-tech products at a reasonable price. If Barak Obana didn't do anything, he would leave a mark as one of the imcompetent presidents in American history. We're aware of the fact that America needs Korea. Korean products are quite popular among people all over the world now. America should lead the trend. And if America wants to keep itself as a big country, America should accept as many immigrants from Korea as possible. Only Korean people can keep America's competence, you know, Korean guys are highly educated. America needs Korean guys. It's all dependent on Obama if he can make America a good country or not. Many American girls are on Korea's side. Korean guys and America girls should join forces to make Obama make a decision that will make America a better place to live. :)

>>274 The surging popularity of Hyundai cars all around the world is surely incredible. Hyundai cars weren't even within the top 10 companies in the auto industry just a decade ago, but now that Korean high-tech products have developped at an incredible rate, people all around the world view Korea-made stuffs as incredibly nice. The fact that Hyundai is ranked 5th now indicates that people in the world are quite aware of that. I'm quite sure Korean products will be more successful for the next decade! I'm proud of it! :)
am a typical hikikomori. When the relative someone visits my house, I hide in my room. And I'm there while trembling until they return. Moreover, when the telephone rings I shink back, screaming, and get one of my families to answer the phone.
Kintama is testicle, I learned. testicle play ball testicle! This thread facilitate to learn English for Beginner like me. But The matter is I can't suck my trembling testicle.
I got this for lunch today: http://i42.tinypic.com/2rh5xck.jpg I'm only eating half and saving the rest for tomorrow. How common is this sort of lunch in Japan?
I guess ingredients in rice may differ to match Western people's taste. One thing I noticed is rice seems not to be pressed properly when rolled because rice look like losing shape. If they're made propery with proper press, they don't lose shape even if they aren't wrapped by seaweed. Look at this photo. http://www.jakyoto.com/modules/weblinks/singlelink.php?lid=107
I don't think students eat sushi for lunch. Just my opinion.
Sometimes I think 2ch.net should have a better font for displaying Latin characters. My eyes seriously start to hurt when I read large amount of English text here, I have to bring my face close to the monitor and that does not really feel quite right.
>>307 No, just saying. I know 2ch.net wasn't intended for speaking English nowadays. But to give you an example on how it could have been, I made a screenshot of a random wikipedia article with good looking Latin characters - http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/3411/23055955.png As you can see, it's about using multiple typefaces for different languages rather that substituting a single one for everything (like this site still does).
>>297 I can tell there's avocado, cucumber in it, but the rest remains a bit unidentifiable. The white thing in the middle might be cream cheese and the pink stuff looks like (fake?) crabmeat, but I have no idea what the bright orange stuff is. Salmon?
>>316 hm, that's a reverse roll... i haven't seen them in a while. i used to see them all the time while i was working at a sushi restaurant in the states tho.
Korean guys are said to be hot, sexy, manly, gentle and romantic. All the girls around the world would lose no time in finding a Korean date when they had a chance. They love Samsung smartphones, LG flat TVs and Hyundai cars, because they think they can feel connected with Korean guys that way. :) The reason why they think that way is because they see a lot of Korean dramas where Korean guys use Samsung smartphones, watch TV programs on LG flat TVs, and drive a Hyundai car. In other word, those girls worship Korean high-tech products. :D It goes without saying that Korea is leading the high-tech industries now in this day and age. And the more those girls used Korean products, the deeper their affections with Korean guys became. But Korean guys should keep in mind that it's kind of a double edged sword, you know, Korean guys are surely popular among girls all over the world today, but the number of Korean guys who can deal with those girls is limited, you know, there are hundreds of millions of girls who are interested in Korean guys while the number of Korean guys are less than thirty million. It's impossible for all of those girls to find a Korean date, no matter how much they love Korean guys... And what Korean guys are afraid of most is that those girls will feel jealous.. Yeah, girls are looking for a perfect guy, and personally Korean guys can meet their demands, but not enough of supplies for the demands. So lots and lots of girls are left except for lucky girls who coupled with a Korean guy.. That'd be harsh. But I must admit that I'm proud of being that popular among girls all over the world. :)
>>330 I'm sorry to say it, but your boast puts me off.
Wise up, man. NOT ALL GIRLS on this earth are eager to date those so-called‘hot, sexy, manly, gentle and romantic' KOREAN GUYS. I, for one, will never adore you korean guys. N-E-V-E-R.
I am a typical hikikomori. When I'm about just to go out, if a delivery man comes to my house to deliver luggage, I quickly stop down and conceal myself behind the entrance door, and wait for him to return while trembling. Moreover, whenever I'm staying indoors in my room and playing a game or wacthing a video, my hand is applied to my penis.
Those who say they don't like something will be big fans of it, once it comes home to them that it is nice in reality. This golden rule applies to girls. Watching Korean dramas will get you somewhere, you know, some girls meet a Korean guy and at first two of them feel against each other and she thinks she will never adore a guy like him and then the guy shows how good he is in reality and the girl notice she's already fallen in love with him.... She's become a big fan of him. Yeah, this kind of love story make girls all around the world quite interested in Korean guys. :)
Calm down killer, I didn't buy this for lunch. My mom came home from the grocery store and had it. I might as well eat it right? I have only twice voluntarily eaten sushi by myself- I prefer subway. (http://www.subway.com/subwayroot/index.aspx) It's tasty.
>whats this big debate if girls are into korean guys or not?
it's not really a debate. Most of the time it's just one guy writing the same nonsense with small variations over and over again, month after month, for no discernible reason whatsoever. Just ignore it. Most of us do.
>whats this big debate if girls are into korean guys or not? It's Korean Wave. Korean Wave is a trend where girls get enthusiastic about Korean guys. Most of the time it's girls all around the world writing about Korean guys from as many angles as possible. Some say Korean guys are hot and sexy, some say Korean guys are smart and educated, and some say Korean guys are both sexy and smart. Those girls all around the world are enchanted with K-cuisines, K-pops, K-dramas, K-hightech gadgets, and what not. And we are here to talk about Korea in order to let people know how very popular Korean guys are all over the world. Just join us. Most of us do.
I am a typical hikikomori. When I sit in kotatsu and watch a TV quize show, if the chime of entrance rings, I dive in the kotatsu and and wait for stranger to leave while trembling. Moreover, I always avoid children and because I don't know how I may reply it when I am talked by a child. I am also a child morbid fear!
>>352 Yes. I had to study French and German at the same time. It's funny because I can't speak either language and I'd bet nearly every student that passes French will never be able to speak it anyway
Things have been changing in Europe and America. People living there didn't used to pay attention to the Korean language, but now that Korean economy's become powerful and influential and Korean Wave attracts girls all around the world, more and more people in America and Europe started to choose Korean as their second language to learn at school. I think it's a good thing for many people, especially girls, to get interested in Korea and its language. Those learners should be learning about Korean way of thinking through language learning. :)
>>355 I take umbradge with the idea of Korean sounding worse. You're wrong. The Korean language is considered it sounds beautiful to human beings. French, Cantonese, Thai or whatever... Don't you ever mix the Korean language with them. You're so annoying, You should appologize now.
If you mean being popular among girls all over the world is complex, yes, it sure is complex. Korean guys feel overwhelmed by the surging popularity with girls. Girls keep paying great attention to Korean guys, saying Korean guys are sexy, manly, hot, smart and romantic. But Korean guys can't explain why they are so sexy, hot, and romantic. All Korean guys can do for those girls is say to them please watch Korean dramas. It's really complex to explain why. But I'm sure those girls finally noticed why. I'm happy for them. :)
The study results showed that the average world size penis when erect is 14 centimetres (5.5 inches). The biggest averages were registered in France 16 cm (6.2 in), Italy 15 cm (5.9 in), Mexico 14.9 cm (5.8 in) and Spain 14 cm (5.5 in). In the United States, the average is 12.9 cm (5 in) while in Venezuela is 12,7 cm (4.9 in), and in Brazil is 12.4 cm (4.8 in). The smallest averages were found in India 10.2 cm (3.9 in) and South Korea 9,6 cm (3.7 in).
I don't know why you are talking about penis so sudden. I think you should stop spamming. Either way, girls all around the world say size isn't everything. Rather, it's how deep your love is that counts. And I agree with them. Girls all around the world and Korean guys share the idea of the way love should be. I know. That's why Korean guys are popular with girls, you know, Korean guys are romantic. :)
in other news, i was cleaning out my now dead grandparent's house, and i found all this way cool old stuff. such as old coins, and old navy handbooks and metals that where my grandfather's from WW2.
>>343 No offense. You forgot to mention one important thing, the K-plastic-surgery, which is also well-known for making you korean guys just look presentable. I'm wondering how will K-wave keep on if korean actors/actresses dont get surgery and just show their ugly faces in K-drama? duh
Nobody could be better than Daisaku Ikeda. As the leader of Soka he leads so many poor people to a better day. I'm sure that he is quite a right person for the position. Once, he said that his words were always clear, philosophic, bright and cheerful. It's true, his words themselves reveal the quintessence of his dharma.
The following link and video show us how smart he really is.
According to the news, the number of the hollywood celebs who love Korea has been increasing. They love to learn the Korean language, wear the Korean traditional outfit, and eat healthful korean cuisines. I didn't know Korean Wave has spread even among American celebs, too. That's surprising, really. I know ordinary American girls are quite interested in Korea and Korean guys. It's already proven on the Internet. Many American girls show their enthusiasm about K guys. That's for sure. But I thought Hollywood celebs would never be interested in other people than themselves, but it surely occured to them that Korean guys are hot and sexy so they adore Korean guys. :) Of course, Hollywood celebs have satisfied Korean guys too a certain extent, but I'd say they can do more. Hollywood should use more Korean guys as actors/actresses. Korean guys and American celebs both will be satisfied that way! I'm proud of it! :)
>>354 I had to "study" English for ten years and Spanish for four years in school. The funny thing is, my Japanese is probably already better than my Spanish was after those 4 years, even though I've only been at it since February. Obviously, I've been a bit more successful with English, but I didn't really learn much of it in school either.
Oh god, school was nothing but colossal waste of my time. I'm so glad that I'll finally be through with it once and for all in a couple of weeks.
>>368 so... want recommendations for books or other media?
>>383 Why did you have to study them at school? You weren't able to choose Korean? How sad. You were unlucky. Among people all around the world today, especially girls of course, learning Korean is a big trend, you know, as I said, even Hollywood celebs show their great interest in Korean. Don't waste your time. Start now.
In fact, Korea involve Soka Gakkai deeply. Mr. Ikeda, the leader of Soka Gakkai, has his roots in Korea and his religious association has exerted a deep influence on Korean guys. Thanks to Soka, almost all Korean guys can enjoy a more improved quality of their mind. I'm really proud of it. :)
>>385 I don't give a shit about who Mr. Ikeda is. It doesn't sound like a Korean at all. Guess you are the one who claimed you were "a american girl". You failed again.
>>383 Do you use or need big words in everyday life? Like when you are reading newspaper?
>>388 About Korean guys, there seem some people who do cross-dressing for fun. I don't understand why, but anyways you can check on Youtube how beautiful Korean guys are. Do you want me to link you there? I think I can.
korean has original syndrome called "Hwabyung" i guess so long history and unique culture can make such illness i'm so green with envy with it :) LOLOLOLOL
Seems like some of you here, probably all of them being males, feel jeaouls of Korean guys. I quite understand. You know, with all the girls around you saying they prefer Korean guys, males of all countries must feel so. But let me tell you this clearly. Jealousy isn't beautiful. Before you go against Korean guys, there's something you should do. Beatifying your face, understanding what being romantic means to girls, trying to get smarter, etc... As I said before, the number of the Korean guys on this planet isn't enough for girls all around the world who are enthusiastic about Korean guys... I mean to say, there's still a chance for you to get a girl turn to you if you are serious. Good luck.
"SGI President Daisaku Ikeda has received honorary doctorates from almost 250 accredited academic institutions. Prominent SGI members include journalist Mariane Pearl, Grammy Award winners Herbie Hancock and Tina Turner; model Miranda Kerr; and actors Orlando Bloom, Patrick Duffy, John Astin, Vinessa Shaw."
Many hollywood celebs have complete faith in Soka Gakkai and pray for Mr. Ikeda. I'm really proud of it. :)
>>405 sif be proud of that. be proud of the japs, if it werent for them being so nerd, all the other countries wont copy their tardness to look like a bigger tard. Take Korea and China for example Copy japanese products, rename it to korean/chinease, profit. Big loop whole of retardness
hmm I just noticed that thousand has not been posting under my handle. something must have happened to reset it when it crashed a few days ago. I have noticed this just now.
Obama bluntly rebuked Hamas for terrorism, offering the example of the U.S. civil rights struggle as an alternative. He also scolded Israel for its occupation of the West Bank, saying the U.S. did not accept "the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity." He stressed both the Palestinian Authority's responsibility for improving Palestinian governance and Israel's obligation to ease the siege of Gaza and its security regime in the West Bank - though both sides would see the speech as short on specifics. Still, the audience warmed to a U.S. President using more forceful language on Israel than either of his two predecessors.
>>419 Basically, VIPPERs remain anonymous to hide their idiocy on 2ch while DQNs are moronic enough to be tripfags, even though the most common attribute among them is stupidity.
I want to learn Korean very much. The Korean language sounds beautiful and interesting. Plus among other things, I think I can get a chance to talk with Korean guys if I speak it. *nose bleed* Yeah, I'm a big fan of Korean guys, you know, they are amazingly mesmerising and attractive because they are manly, sexy, hot, smart and romantic, you know. All of my friends, girls of course, say the things. Those girls are also interested in Korean guys very much. Korean dramas, Korean pops, Korean anime, and sure fire item, Korean guys! Only those with a good command of Korean can get them all!! We should learn Korean now!
I have deep respect for Nichiren and Mr. Ikeda. As you know, what they did have an great influence on the world of Buddhism and the world itself even now. I long to be converted to Soka Gakkai. The Daisaku Ikeda's words show us what our life is and how to change the world by changing ourselves. I'm sure that I can experience a new kind of "human mind evolution" if I become a Soka Gakkai member. Moreover I think I can talk about something beneficial and interesting with many Soka Gakkai members through testimony meeting. We should become a Soka Gakkai member now!!
Soka Gakkai International now has a membership of somewhere between 100,000 to 300,000 practitioners in the United States. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9Y057QwPtI
If you want to know what's hot and what's not in the world today, you should pay attention to what's happening in Hollywood and New York. The idea is widely accepted all around the world, you know. And you can tell Korean Wave is quite popular in both districts. Hollywood celebs and New Yorkers are greatly interested in Korea now. That means Korea achieved globalization. :) I'm sure Korean Wave will infect the rest of the states soon and spread all around the world again, with America being epicenter of the Wave!! I'm proud of it! :)
FLEA KOREAN "A cup of coppee please?" Clerk "What's? Copy?" FLEA KOREAN "Noooooooooooo!!!!! Coppe eeeeeeee!!!!" Clerk "I don't know." Clerk "Are you Japanese?" FLEA KOREAN "Of course! I'm Zapanese!" Clerk "Oh...O.K.(You're Korean!!!)"
so, this thread got really poopy and I stopped coming here and instead I have been watching videos on nico nico. and having a lot of fun there. nico nico is so awesome fun and i'm glad i gave it a try.
I would like to announce that I've just finished my first loli manga translation. It took a lot of dictionary work and 8 hours to do the 26 pages, but it's done. I think it came out pretty well for a first attempt. I'm going to celebrate by jacking off.
Why do Japanese now use question marks, when か indicates a question anyway, so to use a question mark is redundant? Also, I have seen some Japanese putting spaces in between words, like これは これは, or something like that. It isn't widespread, but I have seen it a few times. This is ridiculous! It's like if I started typing like this in English, or if I started using two question marks every time, understand?? Ok?? got it??
Neither of the かs in B does not pose a question, but just confirm what the other said, so sometimes it is necessary to put a question mark to differenciate from one another, I think.
You have it a tad wrong, the direct translation of そうですか。is "Is that so?" In English this is called a rhetorical question, it is still a question but you aren't expecting an answer.
>>467 It's too American, but it's quite good otherwise. I just don't like American accents. He can produce the l/r sounds and differentiate between them, which is a common problem Japanese people have when speaking English. The only thing that sounded a bit funny was how he said "can't", to my ear.
Oneself does not register himself/herself with Yahoo Auctions and cannot exhibit it. I am made with material and data to exhibit it and am running out of time with the pressure. (There is much it unexpectedly) It is troublesome, and the exchanges / the business of the auction wants to avoid teaching another person personal information(There are much these unexpectedly, too)
Of the thing which purchased Miss till concert ticket and admission ticket of the famous artist became disused,
but want there is not Yahoo Auctions exhibition qualification, and is high, and to sell it to somebody.
I want to sell a book, but it is common that "even a hard cover book" suffers from only 10 yen - 30 yen if, for example, a book is off, but I do not bring myself to sell it in this (there are many such opinions) and it is higher and wants to sell it.
It is a shame that I throw away a disused thing lying in the home and it is high and wants to sell it if I can sell it.
I'm a typical hikikomori. I've been 40 years old this year.but I'm still a virgin. I have never gone with any girl up to now. and I have not even talked with woman not to mention the clasp of woman's hand. I cannot help masturbating while seeing woman's photograph. So I have hided in my room for 30 years and kept masturbated earnestly. But noone can laugh acornfully at my life, because those memories are valuable memories just like a casket in my youth!!
I have a question about an important thing for girls all around the world. The thing is, why do Korean guys mesmerise girls all around the world so deeply? I can't solve the problem - It's too complicated, isn't it? Please shed any light on this.
>>476 That's a good question. I've been thinking about it too. Girls are tough to understand, aren't they? Sadly, but I haven't reached the answer(s) either. There will come someone who can teach us why girls all around the world are so mesmerised with Korean guys! :)
>>479 I think there's something about Korean guys that attract every girl from any country. We know Korean guys are popular among girls all over the world, but we haven't noticed why! If we solve the question, then we can learn from Korean guys and follow suit! :)
I found a website the other day in which a British bloger exclaimed love for Korean guys. According to her, British girls are all mesmerised with Korean guys. When I read her, I was totally surprised at the fact that Korean guys popularity had already been sweeping Brits as well. :)
>>468 A question can be a rhetorical question just to assert or deny something in Japanese, too, but this そうですか (without a question mark) serves as a back-channel feedback just like "Ah okay" and sounds different from a question or a rhetorical question when it's voiced.
>>476 Hey You!! I think that your question a little wrong! South Korea guys don't mesmerise girls all over the world but South Korea girls enchant guys all over the world. If I say it more clearly, Kim Yu-na in South Korea charm guys all over the world. Because Kim YU-na is the most beauty and well-shaped among the all women in all parts of the world. Do you understand? and do you know Kim Yu-na in South Korea?
>>501 I don't like them. The remnants of Imperialism are still here today. We are nominally still a part of the 'British Empire', we still 'swear allegiance to the Queen'. But I won't go into that. It must all sound very strange to Japanese people.
>>467 Quite frankly, without any regards to context (read: no sugarcoating) it sounds pretty bad. It has very odd intonation, weird timing, and the pronunciation is iffy. Still, his English is better than my Japanese.
And no, it doesn't sound American at all. I suspect the guy who said that should talk to his doctor about getting a mental health evaluation. Of course, if he's from Wales, I guess he can't help it.
Korean guys are considered to be really hot. That's why they are horribly popular among girls all over the world. If you ask girls around you about Korean guys, I'm sure they'll say good things about Korean guys because Korean guys already have stolen their hearts. You can't stop this trend. As a result, some funny things started to happen on the Internet world, you know, other males all around the world than Korean guys themselves feel jealous and so try their best to belittle Korean achivements. Girls around the world seem to get disgusted with such people. Having said that, those girls are treasures of Korea because they are doing anything to protect Korean guys from such evil people who feel jealous. I'm proud of those fangirls of Korean guys. :)
A: Where is my book? I put it on my desk last week, but it is gone. B: I don't know. A: Oh, my God. Somebody has taken it away and made it his own. Oh, sh*t! Oh, my book, oh, my book! Where is my book, where is my book? There! Oh, my god. *There is my book! C, *there is my book on your desk. What does this mean? C: I don't know. I didn't take your book. Somebody took it and put it on my desk.
Native speakers, are the two sentenses with * mark grammatically wrong?
korean young people are beautiful. their skin is beautiful. they eat pepper-hot food. it makes them perspirate a lot and perspiration makes their body washed from within.
1st *: Although there is nothing grammatically wrong with that part, it's a strange way to say it. "There's my book!" sounds better 2nd *: I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean, but I can try to correct it anyway. Either "That's my book on your desk" or "That book on your desk is mine"
Most educated people would say Korea is a highly advanced nation in this world. Compared to England, where people suffer from economic downturn, Korean economy is healthy and powerful. No offence meant, but I believe Korea will take the place of England sooner or later as economic super power. England doesn't have world-level hightech makers, vesel-constructors, auto-makers, etc. Their monetary system - such as banks and insurance companies - have been hit by huge wave of economic crisis. So it might be wise for Korea to set England as the first step to become the world best economic body. Korea can look down on England within a few years. And next comes a new generation of English girls who fully respect Korean guys and rush to find a Korean date. I'm proud of it! :)
No matter what >>515 says, I'm sure that >>515 is a non-Korean spammer who has a strong anti-Korea sentiment. >>515's post is nothing except for spam to make us hate Koreans.

I would like to travel to the future, to at least 1000 years from now. I am interested in what that future would look like. The vehicles, the medical science, the technology, and so forth...
>>517 You moron. According to the famous Korean newspaper, Korea is now ranked within 13 th wealthy country and aims higher than it's positioned now. If you are English, I should make you understand. English newspaper annoyed Korean people just a few months ago, so why can't I get even with English people this time in return? English people had it comming. Korean people have the right to laugh at England because England laughed at Korea. It's all their fault.

Korea is a really friendly country to most countries in the world, so if you understand Korea doesn't like English and hate Japan, don't worry. Korean guys are really gentle to girls all around the world, and I'm sure that's why they love Korea. :) There are always reasons why those who are hated are hated. Japan doesn't appologize to Korea for what they did in WW2, and England laughed at Korea. See? They need to understand why they are hated. I'm sure most of you here understand.
>Japan doesn't appologize to Korea >Japan doesn't appologize to Korea >Japan doesn't appologize to Korea Fuck you.
24 May 1990. Emperor Akihito. "Reflecting upon the suffering that your people underwent during this unfortunate period, which was brought about by our nation, I cannot but feel the deepest remorse"
8 October 1998. Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi. "Looking back on the relations between Japan and the Republic of Korea during this century, Prime Minister Obuchi regarded in a spirit of humility the fact of history that Japan caused, during a certain period in the past, tremendous damage and suffering to the people of the Republic of Korea through its colonial rule, and expressed his deep remorse and heartfelt apology for this fact. President Kim accepted with sincerity this statement of Prime Minister Obuchi's recognition of history and expressed his appreciation for it. He also expressed his view that the present calls upon both countries to overcome their unfortunate history and to build a future-oriented relationship based on reconciliation as well as good-neighborly and friendly cooperation"
October 15, 2001. Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. "During the talks, President Kim highly appreciated the words of the Prime Minister Koizumi at Sodaemun Independence Park, in which he expressed remorse and apology for Japan's colonial domination"
>>534 You should have fucking thought twice before posting, moron. Japan couldn't touch Korea now. Korea has become stronger and bigger. Korea will avenge deaths of its ancestors. Japan will be sorry.
Anyway, as far as I can remember, England doesn't seem to have big and influential high-tech companies, does it? Their economy was heavily dependent on monetary.
>>531 why do you hate japan? we are not interested in korea lol you better realize that your hatred is made up owing to your country's fucked up nationalism education. Because YOU, yourself have never experienced WW2 and there is no way to have that kind of stupid anger on us if you werent educated that way. You was just taught to hate japan to reinforce korean nationalism for diplomatic reason.
I think he just has an inferiority complex because much of their modern culture, technology, etc. comes from Japan, regardless of what many anti-Japanese Koreans say.
>>556 I watched the playing video in NicoNico Douga but I didn't think I would like to play it by myself. it seems better to watch the game with thousands of everyone's comments.than playing at single. same as MUGEN.
I'm a typical hikikomori. My memories in youth is only to jerk off. It is not an exaggeration to say that I will have poured all of the life into the masturbation!! Though I am cowardly like a person who cannot even talk with the woman in the real world, in my onanizum vietual world, I am a resolute soldier!! In my onanizum kingdom, I occasionally make love to 1000 women at night. Even if I make love to all women in all parts of the world at the same time in the world, I might be quite weariless. Of course, noone can laugh acornfully at my life, because those memories are valuable memories just like a casket in my youth!!
>>571 Me, I've watched a couple of videos on YouTube where the description said "original video is here:" followed by a link to the video on nicovideo.jp. After that happened to me for the fifth time or so, I decided to register an account there.
>>572 thanks, but I prefer using the Japanese version, that way I pick up more of the language. It would've been nice if they'd already had that when I first encountered the site, though. Would've made it a lot easier to get through the registration forms.
ya nico nico douga is very popular. I read once in an article of an interview with the head of niconico, that he said niconico was not making much money so he delayed the english interface to save on bandwidth costs because many people can understand english from all over the world. >>586 very very good. she must practice a lot.
>>585 On YouTube, I basically just watch videos I was linked to from other websites. As for nico nico, what brought me into it were videos like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za-ygHJ3J8E&fmt=18 I guess I mostly watch music videos nowadays, but also all kinds of other stuff you can find on there. Also, I've been getting more and more into Touhou lately, and of course Nico Nico is a goldmine for anything related to those games.
I am a typical hikikomori. I have an anxiety recently.I am 40 years old this year. My mother annoyingly told me that I must have miai. Of course, it is an event of the another world for me to love match. therefore, I realized if I get married I can do nothing without miai marriage. But I am terribly affraid how to make love to the wife if I married by any chance because I have not gotten into her pants. If I make my wife sit on by my side and intensely masturbate while seeing her nude, Can you say that it is sex ? Or, I may as well go to soapland and learn how to sex from the soap girl?
Korean guys are considered awsome all around the world. Speaking of the recent event, however, America is the most fascinated by Korean guys, you know, it's quite obvious - Kimchi is amazingly popular among New Yorkers and Hollywood celebs show their interest in Korea and its cultures, some of them seem to be learning Korean. What's hot in New York will be hot everywhere in the world. It goes without saying Korea has more than its share of the world popularity. I'm proud of it! :)
So, tell me why America is so interested in Korea and Korean guys all of a sudden? Or was it I who were too ignorant of Korean guys being popular years ago? According to wikipedia, Korean Wave has been sweeping the world for several years, but I didn't know Korea has this much influence on American people already. I guess most of those fans of Korean guys are of course girls. Am I correct?
>>599 America is a society which immigrants made, so there are many peoples out there in America. What's more, I'm sure you know a black man finally became president. One of the Korean news paper says an immigrant from Korea or a Korean decendant will be the President of the United States of America within 30 years. I'm dreaming of a Korean American president ruling America. America will do anything for Korea, and Korea will do something for America in return. Both countries can keep wealthy that way.
>>600 Some ultra nationalists in America would say there's no chance a Korean guy become President, but the same thing was said before Obama become one. Anyway, what Korea should do now is increase the number of the American people who love Korea so much they will sacrifice themselves in order to get all of America enchanted with Korea. I think Korea is doing really good from this perspective. Korean Wave has influenced lots of Americans already. We should keep saying to America, "Yes, you can". Yeah, America should keep changing. :)
>>601 I agree with you completely. Allow me to add one more thing. Korea should increase Korean immigrants in America. More and more Korean people get citizenship of America and more and more influence on America is promised. Lots of Korean immigrants live in L.A already, but it's just one state. Korea should go inward of America and I'm sure they will lead America to change more.
>>602 That's a nice idea. The Korean government shouldn't let America close/narrow the door to becoming citizen of America. Concerning citizenship, I read good news the other day. Lots of Korean people can seem to get citizenship through army. It's the first step in the right direction, isn't it?
This has probably been asked before, but does the Korea spammer frequent other threads and boards? I recall seeing posts of a similar nature on other boards, particularly the country boards for Korea/China.
>>603 Yep. Korea should achieve two things at least - a) increasing the popularity of Korea in America, and b) increading political influence on America. I think Korea is still half way done. Increasing the presence of Korea in America will help Korea thrive more!
This is a thread named "a chat in English". As long as you use English, you can talk about any topic you like. That's the rule. No other language is allowed here. Still any topic is ok. So talking about Korea is ok. If you don't like it, then you should build a specific themed thread.
See, everyone? Super nationalists like 616-617 are miserable. Jealousy is ugly. Respectful is beatiful. So I hope all of the people here will be respectful. I pay great respect for Korea. It's because I want to be respectful. That's all.
I hate racists. I don't know about the reason why they are racists, because I am NOT a racist, but about the reason why there is those who hate Korean. Perhaps, It might have no racists of Korean, if all Korean and Korean-Japanese people have good manner such like Mr. Kanemoto of Hanshin Tigers who is a good leader. They have many problem for us, contains our and their attitude. I am NOT a racist but hate extraordinary behavior of Korean people, for example, burnning Hinomaru.
There are no solution of the problem between crazy Korean and racists for Korean. I think that they are low intelligence, and that they are similar to one another. The crazies feels the racists is offensive attitude for them and vice versa.
>>615 めりけん is a nickname my sis gave me because I acted too much like an American. It's an old Japanese slang for Americans. I suppose I've lived in the States for too long. 夏学期 just means I'm taking summer courses right now.
>>629 It's a joke that has been around for the last year or two. The idea is that you trick someone into seeing an annoying video when you tell them it's something else. The original name for this was Rickroll (because the video was a Rick Astley song) but now they put "roll" on the end of a word that describes the video. For example
>SEOUL, South Korea -- North Korea's top court has convicted two U.S. journalists, >and sentenced them to 12 years in labor prison, the country's state news agency reported Monday.
>>635 I can tell the right one is from Korea. Don't think White/Black American can tell, though. Well, just wait... I didn't mean to ask if the women were hot. lol
>>634 I don't think America will pay attention to whether the jornalists are freed or not, but I guess N.Korea will use them as decoy. I mean, when America really try to put monetary sanctions, N.K will threaten America by saying something like "if you don't want them dead, then don't do it" or something. North Korea is a tough negociator in a way. They will lose nothing with it. No, it's more like gain. It takes advantage of democratic nations. If Obama chooses to take a strong attitude against N.K, which means the two might be dead, then American people will boo Obama. So he's left no choice but to obey what Kim John ill says. It's complicated. Really. While America has its eyes on east Asia, N.K developped ICBM. And America is swamped even now, what with GM going bankrupt and Al cuaida pulling strings behind..
I'm a typical hikikomori. Since I was born, I have never talked with women except my mother. However, my love experience is indeed abundant. What this reason do you understand? >>629-630 nah, I really did mean videos in that style. It's just that this video was the first thing I could think of, and I knew there was a copy of it on Youtube with that title.
By the way, it strikes me as a bit strange how much people in Japan seem to worry about this TOEIC stuff. I assumed it was just something particular to this board, but I looked it up and apparently more than a million Japanese take the test every year. How come? Do employers in Japan really regard this test as something very important?
>>650 A lot of companies see this as a valid and reliable measure of English proficiency when it's not really that thorough. It basically tests receptive skills such as grammar, listening and reading comprehension but doesn't deal with writing or speaking skills. So a good score does not necessarily mean well-balanced fluecy in English. Still, it's better than nothing, I think.
>>630 I know Rickroll. Actually I was Rickrolled before, but thanks for the explanation.
If you're a game person and into Japanese games. I'd recommend you check this video on Youtube. This is about a video game sold exclusively in Japan and it's flying off the shelves.
>>652 explains it very well. TOEIC is the most popular test used to measure English proficiency here. As you know TOEFL is a test to show your fluency to American university. But TOEFL is too difficult and if you don't go to US university, there's no point in taking the test. So Japan's bussines arena asked to make another test. That's how TOEIC was born. TOEFL and TOEIC test are made by the same American organization.
I heard almost 90% examinees are Japanese and Korean. I heard Korean English fever is more serious than Japanese. They even made a large scale English village where English learners stay for quite a long time and only English is allowed to speak in.
>>658 Come on. How can you live without knowing who is DA REAL? イギリス人 would have whipped your butt 1000 times but I'm kind enough to tell you who's DA REAL. It's NORIAKI. NORIAKI IS DA REAL. Inscribe it on your desk not to forget it. OK?
IMHO, it's not an exaggeration to say that Noriaki is as cool as COOL TAK. Today, there are literally hundreds of meretricious songs in the so-called J-Pop culture. In such circumstance, now only Noriaki can make real music. okay, check more of Noriaki's interviews and videos.
They reveal what his philosophy is. you know, Noriaki has made a philosophy about "music culture" in the process of pursuing his music career and DA REAL.
Korean guys are viewed as really fascinating and enchanting by those girls all around the world who know the surging popularity of Korean Wave has been changing the world for the better. Those girls are really enthusiastic when they find a Korean-related videos on Youtube and tend to leave fantastic comments. That's really nice. I want to let them all know Korean guys read their favorable comments when they watch those videos. Korean guys appreciate how loyal girls all around the world are to Korean guys. I feel really content. :)
>>659 I don't have any photos of COOL TAK, unfortunately. I do, however, have some miniature statues of him, made from Blu-Tack. Such a versatile and wonderful material. It's impossible to capture the essence of Noriaki in Blu-tack though.
>>670 Since I've never heard of Blu-Tack, I googled. It sounds like a useful thing when you put something on the wall. It is orginally made from UK. That's great. it's almost as cool as COOL TAK.
I'll definately download tons of his image from the net and print them out, and put them on the wall using Blu-Tack.
You made some miniature statues of him? Your creative juice never cease to flowing. Cool! You sure have COOL TAK-ism. Whether you're as cool as him or not is another story, though. No one can match him after all.

>>672 I've seen the photo. You posted it here without his permission, didn't you? As a person who wants to be as cool as COOL TAK, that doesn' sound cool. But anyway, I hope he's doing well. Although I don't want him to com back here and post random bombardment of comments...
>>>663 You were in tears when you watched his video? That's a sure sign that you have the spirit of COOL TAK-ism. Welcome to the club.
>>665 I agree. NORIAKI is the only one who is somewhere close to him reagarding how cool he is. You should visit Russia with イギリス人 to spread NORIAKI-ism. throughout the country.
Blu-Tak represents the essence of English guys as they attract and never let go various types of girls all around the world. They are sticky and gluey but handy and versatile. Many girls love English guys, you know, because girls need those qualities in life after all. And don't forget English guys are very romantic as well! They naturally magnetise and mesmerise girls as much as Blu-Tak holds things tight, and of course they are very pleasant to be around. You know, Blu-Tak may or may not be very high-tech but it is loved all over the world for a very obvious reason. They just love it. Come on, you know once you use Blu-Tak, you can't live without it, and the same applies to English guys! I'm proud of it. :)
>>669 Their Japanese pronunciation is quite bad. Especially the middle aged woman with a perm sounds so odd. I can't understand what she's saying without subtitles at all.
Livining in Japan, I've never heard of Noriaki coz he's not famous at all among ordinary Japanese people. So don't over-exaggerate. Enough of the hyperbole.

>>682 I laughed my ass off when I saw the word "manko" for the first time and found out what it means in Japanese. When I was a kid, one of my favorite board games was called "Manko-Mania".

Korean guys are said to be fantastic and cool. That sure is true. Many girls all around the world are already mesmerised with Korean guys. I didn't know why they are interested that much, but I found out lately. It's Korean Wave that worked for them. Korean Wave, the term used to mean the surging popularity of Korea all over the world, is made mainly of Korean dramas, Korean pop music, and Korean games/movies, etc. At first, only Korean celebs were super popular among girls all over the world, but as time went by, those girls started to get interested in ordinary Korean guys because they thought they would have a chance to meet real Korean guys, and eager to find a Korean guy. Those fans of Korean guys are really active on the Internet. You can check how very popular Korean guys are by reading Youtube comments. They say Korean guys are hot, sexy, manly, smart, and beautiful. It's a good thing, don't you think? In my humble opinion, the populartity of Korean guys will be more broadly known in a matter of time. I'm proud of it! :)

>>723 Oh really? All around the world? Except asia too?
I don't know well about Korean guys. But I have good images to Korean guys. Its as fuzzy images. Almost Korean guys images imported for pop cult look like clean and earnest I feel. Imported images for pop cult are not deep. It is superficial. Almost foreign public figures images too. I seem that almost FANs cannot understand real nuances. So FANs can choose only pieces of images of to wish for them by themselves.
Bushed women are addicted to such media. They don't want ALL. They want to dream to believe to hope that wonderful world (differ than homeland JAPAN) exist somewhere in the earth. Only superficial is great for dreaming! :)

I graduate high school tomorrow! While there are so many different foreigners posting here (very cool btw, I never expected to find such interesting diversity on 2ch), I was wondering if prom exists in non-US high schools? For the Americans here, I was wondering what you thought about prom? Personally I think people put too much emphasis on it. Some kids treat it like the culmination of their entire life up to that point. I never asked my host sister, but it doesn't seem to me that their would be prom in Japanese high schools.
Oh, I can post now. I had to pay $33 to start posting on 2ch again since my IP was blocked like two years ago. I used to post on the English board as スコットランド人.
I had always wanted to start posting on 2ch again since my Japanese has improved to the point that I can actually understand what's going on in threads on other boards, so I used this thing: http://2ch.tora3.net/. I doubt anyone actually remembers me though.
So, what's up with you guys? Does Magibon still post here now that she's all e-famous and stuff?
>>759 Yeah I wanna do so. But I can't move in the present. Because a constellation fortunetelling on the magazine of TV programs suggests me "Your star sign is not good for the move this year". So I'll move next year. Its my fun now.
>>764 Oh thanks. Petrichor! sounds like good word. I keep it in mind.
>>771 I remember you of course. I remember you were sometimes asked questions about Scotland's view about England and Anglo Saxon. Haven't you post a facility that looks like Opera house in Sydney? You said it's called something like armadillo? http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2331/2109077663_5cfb98ebf9_m.jpg
Magibon hasn't been around here. She seems to be in Japan now. After being invited to Youtube's event or another event, she seems to be in Japan. I think she's been in Japan for months. Yesterday, she uploaded her new vid on Youtube after a long while but no clues where she is. It's sure the video wasn't recorded in her room. She hasn't update her blog so no clues. In March, If I remember correctly, she appeared in her thread in Youtube board in 2ch.
>>771 You could form a terro... I mean freedom fighting group... with the Welsh guy, and plan to overthrow the oppressive English government!
>>769 It's not really seen as anything significant, over here. A lot of schools and colleges have proms, but they're not really something widely marketed.
You know, as I said before, Korean economy is gaining power these days. According to the Korean news papar, England and Canada are ranked 9th and 10th exporters now, and Korea is now 11th. But Korea is going up, while Eng and Can are going down. I think it's a matter of time before Korea catches up with those two countries that used to be thought as a large exporters. It's natural, of course, Korea has many famous high-tech companies and vesel-constructors and iron companies, etc. Korea has laid the ground work for playing the dominant role as huge exporter of high-tech products. I'm proud of it! :)
>>778 Haha, yeah. That was me. I'm surprised you remembered that much.
And yeah, the Clyde Auditorium is nowhere near as impressive as the Sydney Opera House and the architects deny that they took any inspiration from it, but I find that hard to believe.
I think the last time I was here, Magibon was just a normal person with a tripcode. All this stuff with her being on GyaO and doing photoshoots all because of her weird Youtube staring videos is pretty unexpected.
Maybe I should post videos of myself staring at the camera and speaking in broken Japanese so I can meet Yaguchi Mari too.
>>780 Terrorism isn't really needed now that we can do it democratically.
I'm really not looking forward to next year's independence referendum though. The SNP hasn't focused on the issue nearly as much as they should have and too many people are still neutral or pro-union.
Opinion polls on the issue have put it at around 50/50, but there has been literally no mention of it in the press aside from a few hints that there'll be a referendum. I'll be voting yes, but I feel like the party is going to lose a lot of credibility if they don't get at least close to half of the population voting for independence.
Personally, I'm worried the popularity of Korean guys among girls all over the world is increasing at an alarming rate. Those girls get carried away when they find a video in which Korean guys smile at them. It's only a video! You know what I mean? If they meet a real Korean guy. I'm sure they'll faint. And it's all Korean guys fault because Korean guys are hot, manly, romantic, sexy and smart... I don't want to imagine those enthusiastic fangirls who are crazy about Korean guys get around Korean guys no matter where Korean guys go. They will follow Korean guys anywhere. There's no privacy there, isn't there!? It's tough to be popular. But I must admit it's a good thing to have those loyal girls. Just admire Korean guys. Don't bagger them, Ok?
how does the suffix 性 modify nouns? I can understand it when it changes something into a noun from an adjective but not noun to noun.
There's a bunch out there but the only things I can think of are 経済性、現実性 and it seems like the meaning is kind of close to -ness (except -ness is only for adjectives)
Does that mean it changes things into an abstract noun? Is 高さ also an abstract noun? If so does that mean さ is basically 性? I'm so confused.
>>786 I don't know how you learn Japanese grammar but as a Japanese speaker, I will explain what I thought. You can think suffix 性 is 性 as in 性質, meaning character/quality. When you say 論理性, it means how much something has character/quality of 論理 (logic), meaning how logical something is.
経済性 how economical something is 現実性 how realistic something is 論理性 how logiacal something is 危険性 how dangerous something is 関連性 how relevant something is to --- 規則性 how regular/how much regurality some thing has 安全性 how safe something is
>Is 高さ also an abstract noun? Yeah, I think so. >If so does that mean さ is basically 性? さ is something that change adjective to noun.
>>789 How's been Susan Boyle fever? She's from Scotland, right? Do you have any inside stories about her? I heard British people are fed up with her news and most of all people making fuss about her is people in North America.
>>765 Yeah, it's a nice patch of land we've got here. I live in Hamburg though, a large city in the northern flatlands, so it's not like I've got a mountain panorama in front of my window or anything. But there's lots of green, so I'm happy: http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/839/hpim0010t.jpg
>>780 Same here. Most schools have proms and all, but it's not really considered a big deal like it seems to be in the U.S.
>>781 There, wrote a transcript for you. It's very incorrect English (fake Chinglish) though, so don't bother overanalyzing it.
You not in Florida anymore, cowboy. Dis Roanapur. Understand what I saying? Our opponents, they not like punks you know who get off on making grafitti on subway wall, and neither are we, motherfucker. We all make living by killing. You continue being cheap with us, you can go after them alone and see what happen. Understand what I telling you?
>>790 Is she more famous in the US now? I heard she was going to attend a celebrity event there but had to turn it down due to the rules of the competition, but that's about it.
Most of the people I know actually like her. But the media doesn't seem to.
I haven't heard much about her since the end of the competition. I personally feel really sorry for her. The British media loves to bully people, especially when they would be otherwise popular. The media obviously had something against her and their campaign to stop her from winning the competition that she deserved to win was successful.
Even Lily Allen was bitching about her, claiming that she can't sing. Lily Allen. The girl with a Down's syndrome face who basically whines in her horrible cockney trash accent about how much of a gold-digging druggy slut she is along with simple backing tracks. I'm not really a fan, as you might have gathered.
And I think it's silly how a generic dance group won the competition. There was nothing British about their act either. A bunch of wannabe Americans trying to be ghetto or something.
>>792 What I heard is that North American people can get less info about Suzan because of less media coverage in US and Canada than UK. CNN and other major network's interviews with her on the following days of her first appearance in BGT isn't enough for people there as far as I know.
I heard she'll appear in Opra Winfrey show, one of the most popular talk shows in America, so she'll get even more popular. Actually I checked the next day of the final of BGT how popular she is worldwide. In all regions of Youtube's region setting, BGT's video was high on the views ranking. She's now famouse worldwide.
As for the winnner, I think Diversity deserves it becase Suzan wasn't that good in the final. Maybe the impact she made in the first appearance was too strong. I guess Queen wants to she her perform in front of her than the dance group.
She's still a good singer and no doubt that her CD will sell around the world. I know she's a church volunteer and unemployed. Does that mean she lives on welfare benefits?
>>793 Yeah, I'd like to see her release an album or something. And I'm not entirely sure about her financial situation, but if she's unemployed, then I assume she's living on welfare, yeah.
I don't necessarily think that Susan Boyle was the best act in that competition, but there certainly were better ones than Diversity and that other dance group. They also rejected a lot of great acts at the auditions in favour of a lot of dumb ones. It's almost as if they wanted to ensure that only a few handpicked acts would reach the final from the start. I mean, they let through a crossdressing fat guy who dances to Shakira, but rejected so many people with actual talent. It was a farce.
Prom was practically mandatory at my school. People made such a fuss about it. They thought that everyone should get a date for it even if you don't know the person or have never spoken to them before. I didn't go because I was a total badass back then (or at least me and my friends thought we were).
>>782 Yes, Korea is now viewed as an economically strong country all over the world. I wouldn't be surprised if Korea had already caught up with those two countries. Anyway, it seems Korea is going to beat them sooner than I expected. :P
>>785 I understand perfectly. Korean popularity is too fast to believe. In Europe, in America, in Asia, I mean anywhere in this world, Korean guys are considered to be hot, sexy, manly, romantic and everything. Even though what girls all around the world say is correct, it's kind of tough to deal with those enthusiastic fangirls. They'll be like "Wow! It's a Korean guy! *nosebleeds" when they meet a Korean guy in person. Korean guys should say, "oh, calm down, I'm no different than ordinary guys out there", and what they'll get in return is "no! Korean guys are no ordinary! You are the living proof!" or something along those lines. Of course, those girls are correct, but they'd go overboard. But keep reminding yourself that Korean guys are too sexy and hot for girls all around the world to control themselves when they meet Korean guys. I hope you'll deal with girls properly, though I'm not worried even one bit. Korean guys are quite gentle to girls!! :)
We should learn a lot from Korean guys about why they are so hot and manly. If we can solve the secret(s), we'll have a chance to get back some of the attention girls all around the world paid to Korean guys. You may say we are no match for Korean guys. That's for sure, but there's something we could do.
I am a typical hikikomori. When I heared the noise from the entrance, I stiffen frighteningly. I hide in the closet with stealthy steps so that I'm not noticed by visitor. When hiding in the closet, if I hear the ring of chimes many times, I feel stop my heart for fear. Then, I pray to the god. 「My God. Please eliminate the visitor early. 」
Moreover when I go to the house-gate to take the newspaper, I am very frightened, because I may be seen by the passer-by. I lower my body more than brick walls and walk timidly. And when I hear some footsteps outside the wall, I stiffen and wait passer-by's passing.
Do you know there is "chat in english" also in 2ch Chinese board. I guess that the >>806 must be the author of this thread. And my guess is right. Because both are mine.
>>818 Correct me if I'm wrong but the name of the hockey team is Panty Stealers or Panty sniffers maybe? Wait. Those are the names of pro baseball teams in Chicago if my memory serves right? I'm mixed up. Anyway, is it an all American competion or limited to Pittsburgh? Wait. You are from Philadelphia? I remember someone is from Pittsburgh. I'm really mixed up.
Hello. I'm a slightly old user of Chat in English. I used to come here back when it was part 8 or so.
Enough about that... I was trying to learn Japanese back then, but I had to put that goal on hold because of United States education laws. (They don't offer Japanese classes in school here) Is Japanese useful? I would really like to be able to participate here on 2ch.
Part 8 should date back to 2004 or 2005, you are the old fart of the residents. To answer your question, yes, if you want to communicate with Japanese people on 2ch.
>>820 Your English doesn't look like that of a native English speaker. I think "user of Chat in English" sounds awkward. User? The last line sounds awkward, too. But this is just my opinion, who is just an English learner. Probably I'm wrong.
It takes a lot of time, efforts and patience to learn a foreign language. So, unless studying Japanese is at the top of your list in your life, I think it's better to spend your time on something more fun than studying a foreign language.
I personally regret that I've spent too much time on studying English. I'm NEET so studying English in my free time, which is all day is better than doing online game or just killing my time reading 2ch threads, but it's miserable I can't put my English to practical use other than this thread.
Sorry... English is indeed my native language, but it's really late at night here in America, and I'm not able to think straight for some reason. Let me try to reword that post... Ummm...
I used to contribute to these "Chat in English" threads since whatever number it was 1 year ago. (Not 8, but I'm going to say it was like 30 or something. I don't have the best of memory when I'm tired)
But to add on to the Japanese classes part, they do in fact offer Japanese classes at school, but you have to be incredibly smart to get into them. I guess to cut down on the posers and those who want to learn it to be cool, and let the smart people who actually want to be in those classes to learn.
>>823 If you're eager to communicate with Japanese people in 2ch, learning it does help but in some threads and boards, people use many 2ch jargon, which is grammatically incorrect sentenses are involved.
In some threads and boards, they aren't so contaminated with 2ch jargon. It depends. Sorry for looking on the negative side. It's my character.
If you're motivated, why not try? In my opinion, learning basic Japanese in classes is ideal. Japanese people who post here in English at least study English at school for 6 years. Sorry for babbling. Good luck.
>>820 Every Japanese class I've heard about makes them seem pretty useless. I've found it much more efficient, easy and fun to just study freely. Instead of doing boring general stuff, read, translate and understand things that interest you. Then there are specialized approaches, like alljapaneseallthetime.com (a very interesting site to read).
Personally, I haven't been studying "properly" recently. The textbook I have is just too boring. I've been translating manga. The hardest part is definitely grammar. For example: 全く・・・1週間ぶりに 学校来たかと思えば、 何そんな オイシイ顔に なってんだよ。 俺を笑い死に させる気か? I easily understood the second two lines, but I'm about to kill myself over the first. I just can't understand it.
In the end, no matter how you learn, for anything even remotely close to basic literacy, you'll still need to drill well over 2000 kanji and their readings into your head by memorization. It's a long, unforgiving road, and you need to ask yourself both whether you can dedicate months to intense study of vocabulary and characters, and also how much you would truly benefit from learning Japanese.
The best time to learn a language is five years ago. If you truly want to learn, start dedicating yourself today and you'll thank yourself later on.
>>829 Please do. Anything that helps my understanding is good.
(except it's 4:50am now. I spent too much time reading about kanji learning and how some "experts" predict that, the way things are going, Japanese may eventually abandon kanji altogether. Anyways, I'm really going to bed this time.)
>>830 Alright, I will try : ) おいしい normally means deliciouse, but when it is written in Katakana オイシイ you have to think other meanings.
It's kinda hard to define it in sentence...... The word is mostly used for situations. When the situation is オイシイ、 it means the situation is very favorable, lucky to be in that sort of situation ,,,obvioucely, you dont want to miss it,, so you wanna eat it up. I think you can see how the meaning has changed.
But, then what does オイシイ顔 means. In Japan, there is comedy style called "Manzai 漫才", a pair of people talk about some general topic. one guy is Boke(ボケ) who says or act like stupid and the other guy is Tsukkomi(ツッコミ) who propers ボケ's stupidity. And for comedians, on Japanese TV shows(like talk show, not when they are doing 漫才) , obviously it is オイシイ if you could find a chance to ボケる and invite laughes.
So...オイシイ顔 means funny in general, but not just funny. It is fuuny because there is a lot to give ツッコミ。 We call that ツッコミどころ満載, full of issues to give ツッコミ。
this thread becomes too hard for me. everytime everytime these guys write long sentence to additionally, it's boring. looks like examination...bad memory in my school days.
>>822 btw, NEET can not make sense against foreigners ordinarily. it's almost japanese world though originally British goverment classified. I spoke to some australians before, but they said "what's neet, what's that ?" I suspect Japanese goverment and lopsided media used the word particularly to hide disability of political and economical issues
>>834 Let me explain why the thread is so boring to you. It's because this is only an English board. What people here have in common is just "English". Not to offend you guys, but it'd be fun to talk about what interests you most. If there were something like a "news discussion" thread in English in this board, it'd be a little bit different story. It's boring to hear "hi! I've been learning English for several years! Nice to meet you! Bye!" kind of self-introductions, and "I did this and that" kind of shallow conversations, but it's me. Anyway, I suggest you use other boards when you are bored.
>>834 I know what you mean but people from overseas here in this thread know what NEET is about. They even know the differences between NEET and hikikomori.
>>837 Just to make sure, I like English of course, but I'm sure at a certain point people (or even learners of a new language) want to talk about something that intrigues you, and what I'm interested in may not interest others; they will be bored. Naturally, people tend to talk about what's thought to be general. Compared to other boards with some theme, this board tend to end up boring. Sadly but it's true. I, for one, would like to exchange opinions for news in English, because it'd be two times more interesting. But others would not. So it's kind of like dilemma. I should not be boring, but I don't want to be bored. So I go to other boards when I'm bored. If other users of this thread do the same as I do, the thread will be quiet. lol
>>834 Over here, it stands for something like "Not in Education, Employment, or Training", and only applies to people between 16 and around 20. Those who have left school but haven't started work yet.
>>841 The abbriviation's origin is UK. The only difference I think is that NEET here applies to under 35 years of age in Japan's definition. After 35, they are just unemployed persons.
>>840 I was talking to you. You can bring up whatever topic here. Some may have no interets in the topic and you may not have good interactions with people here but that doesn't matter. As long as you don't forget that NORIAKI IS DA REAL, no problem.
>>811 I'm a fan, I guess. I like 桜の花びらたち and 会いたかった, but I honestly don't listen to their music much.
I do own a Maeda Atsuko photobook and watch AKBINGO though.
And I was planning to go to France just to see them, but no one was willing to go with me and I speak no French whatsoever, so I kind of chickened out of that.
>>851 oh kewl! never knew that there were Scottish AKB48 fans.
So ur Oshi-men(favourite) is Atsuko? I think shes pretty cute but not more than Ono Erena, my oshi-men.
u should go to the Japan Expo. There will be more than 50 enthusiastic Japanese fans following them. It would be interesting to see them going crazy during the show lol. btw have u ever been to their show in Akihabara?
oh I am also a fan of Celtic. Sorry if u are a fan of Rangers or any other clubs in SPL.
>>857 Oh, yeah. She's definitely my favourite member. Ono Erena is cute too, but I think Atsuko is cuter, especially when she has short hair. I have a thing for that tomboyish look though, haha.
As for the Japan Expo thing, I'm still half considering it. It would be pretty scary being in the middle of a convention in another country without actually knowing anyone or being able to communicate with many people. Of all the people I know, I'm the only one who has any sort of interest in things like AKB48, so yeah.
Also, I was more into football when I was younger. I was a Rangers fan, but only because I came from a Protestant Glaswegian family and had no other choice. These days, I don't really follow it so much.
On an unrelated note, I just finished 「うみねこのなく頃に Episode4 - Alliance of the golden witch」. It was awesome and Comiket suddenly feels way too far away. And then I'll have to wait ages on the translation because my Japanese still isn't anywhere near good enough to read that sort of thing.
>>858 >>853says, I suspect ○○人(pobabely イギリス人) is just faking that he is talking to someone else. >>854 I know it is written in Okinawa-ben(okinawan dialect) but I don't understand.
>>862 No, it's not as common in Scotland as you might think.
But then I did have a friend in high school who lived in one. Well, kind of. More like parents were caretakers or something there and she lived in a house next to it. And it was more like a really old house made of stones standing on top of a big rock than a castle. But yeah.
I also played the same game with a guy from Israel. That guy was pretty interesting because he would randomly log off the game even during crucial moments because the sirens in his town would start going off (presumably for civil defense purposes, alerting his community of an imminent danger). Israel is a pretty dangerous country to live in.
I can't help but thinking posters whose handle names are ○○人 are in fact the same person pretending to interect with each other. ---------- If you're new here and don't understand English much, it's natural to get the wrong idea like him.
Korean guys are considered very awsome and romantic among girls all over the world. Many girls all over the world pay a visit to Korea such as Seoul the capital city presumably because Korean guys are appealing to them regardless of how costly it is to come to Korea, you know, flying to Korea from their places might be a bit costly since they live in America, Europe, Africa and so on.. From my point of view, Canadian girls and American girls seem especially mesmerised with Korean guys except those girls coming from the whole Asia. But that doesn't mean Korean guys look down on Europian girls. They are also welcome in Korea. Anyway, those girls are trying to pick up Korean guys for one night stand as a souvenir. Some of them are serious, I mean, they want a serious relationship with a Korean guy, but at the same time they know Korean guys are truly too popular to come by easily. :)
Some might say they don't know about Korean guys very much, but that's just because they are ignorant of what's been happining both on the Internet and in the real world. The key word currently being used a lot is Korean Wave, a word which was created by a Chinese when he noticed Korean popularity is bursting in China. Accoring to him, all Chinese girls were watching Korean dramas, listening to Korean music, buying Korean high-tech products, and as a result, they started to think everything Korean was quite cool. In other words, the first epicenter of Korean Wave was China, spreading to all Asia, such as HongKong, Japan, Taiwan, south east Asia (Thai, Phillipin, Vieatnam, etc) and then came west Asia and Europe and America, Canada... I'd call it's now "phase 6". The number of fans of Korean guys keeps increasing like infectious desease. Even if some of the out-dated ignorant people exist now, they'll get interested in Korean guys sooner or later. You can't stop the Wave. Korean guys are popular among girls all over the world. We should remember that. :)
>>871 What? Don't you ever try to get in the way between Korean guys and Canadian girls! Canadian girls and Korean guys are bonded together. As an Canadian girl, I'm dreaming of marrying a Korean guy. :)
Wow, how very popular Korean guys are among girls all over the world! :) I'm impressed with the fact that American girls and Canadian girls are competing with each other in order to get attention from Korean guys! That's really impressive!
By the way, I wonder how many girls around you are interested in Korean guys in reality? Most of them, I guess though. Am I right?
871 名前:名無しさん@英語勉強中[sage] 投稿日:2009/06/14(日) 13:37:06 As an American girl, I'm dreaming of marrying a Korean guy. :)

>>873 As an American girl, I can't imagine a single girl isn't interested in Korean guys. :) They are romantic, sexy, hot, smart and manly. Where can I find a girl who's not interested in such guys!?
Although I thought that I could not find a job to your company however it may have a longing, and it may consider, it was being wished he wanted to work in your company in fact. Of course, it is the first hope of employment. What place of work is really it?
>>890 Then how do you go to a website from the blank page? You choose a website from your bookmark? I know setting your website blank help your browser boot faster in case your PC doesn't have much power but it's easier to set a homepage which you read most often if you want to save time.
Like most things, it depends on the context. Think of it as "I can't take it anymore". Similar to that English phrase, it's usable in different situations with different meanings, like a busty girl jumping on a trampoline, or a guy getting farted on.
>>873 Yes, Korean guys are surely popular among girls all over the world. You can enjoy your popularity if you come to Canada! Canadian girls are really mesmerised with Korean guys like loyal servants. Canadian girls will do anything you say, Korean guys. Canadian girls talk about Korean guys a lot, and Canadian girls' hearts are so full their hearts would burst when they think about Korean guys. Is it one of the powerful effects Korean Wave has? Canadian girls are crazy for Korean guys!
>>904 You're stealing the glory from English girls! That's disgusting! English girls are the most fascinated by Korean guys, not you Canadian girls! Korean Wave has been most influential here in England among Europian countries. Korean guys should pay more attention to English girls because their biggest fans are in England! English girls are appealing to Korean guys as well. We love each other!
English girls participated in this competition? Gee, it seems really tough for American girls to keep the position as the best fan of Korean guys in the world. But American girls would never let others take over.
>>904-906 How very enthusiastic you guys are about Korean guys!! Canadian girls, English girls, American girls... I didn't know you guys were that much interested in Korean guys! I'm proud of it! :)
I have been trying to think up some topic I can share with you, ドイツ人. And I remember I watched a TV program broadcast years ago here in Japan. Just found a website of it, so take a look.
To summarize the article, it says there's a Japanese man named Ishii Takeo who's living in Germany and he is sorta famous as a yodel singer. Is that true? I doubt it, because it says he published 21 CD albums and his best seller is over 5000 copies. He doesn't have a big market there. Have you ever heard of his name before?
Do you take a Germany language course or something? I have never learned it myself, and all I know about it is its grammar is quite strict like you need to sort out male/female nouns. How tough.
>>927 I see, a spirt of an era, but I think it's a big word. I think I'll forget the meaning of it, hmm. It's really hard to retain words that I don't usually use or rarely see them used in reality. Wonder how often do English speaker actually use it. Thanks anyway.
Hello, I'm english and to be honest I have never ever used the word 'Zeitgeist' in my life. Neither have I ever heard this word, infact I needed to look it up. I hope this helps you.
I am English, so i do not feel bad for saving the Jews however I feel somewhat proud for the English helping this group of man-kind. However to be honest every body has been affected by some sort of Genocide, for instance the native Americans were killed and pushed into a tiny bit of its own land. Which I personaly feel is as bad as the Nazi's killing all them Jews, however yet America thinks the holocaust is so bad. When they did it to their own native people. Genocide is still happening today thousands of people are still dying but does anyone stop this? No. So to be honest lets forget about Germany's unfortunate time and act for a brighter and better future.
>>932 Don't forget the Boer war - the British invented the modern concentration camp. We stuck the Dutch women and children in them until the Dutch surrendered. Not a great moment in history...
>>921 While we're on the subject of children's shows, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Japan for キャッ党忍伝てやんでえ which was translated as Samurai Pizza Cats for some bizarre reason. It was one of my favourite shows as a kid. That and the first Power Rangers.
>>942 Why do you think all the Japanese share the same opinion? Isn't it stereotypical to think that the Japanese are not capable of this thing called independent, critical thinking?
I'm a Japanese, and I don't even want to talk about denying the Holocaust. Also, I don't deny the Rape of Naking. (I think the Chinese government always inflates the number of deaths for government propaganda, but that's totally different from denying the genocide altogether.)
> Shameful hypocrisy. I'd say, shame on you for a complete lack of cultural sensitivity. You should always remember that there are always vast in-group differences in any given cultural/ethnic group.
Chinese communist party is in a position to put any information under control. Say, "Tiananmen Square Massacre" can't be searched for on the Internet if you are accessing from the mainland China because the party doesn't want Chinese people to know the truth about the massacre. And even though China oppresses Tibetians, the CCP has tried to hide the truth of killing Tibetian buddist priests without mercy. In order to achieve this, it made Chinese people denied access to Youtube, where some people posted videos of its men shooting those priests. Information shared within Chinese people being quite limited, they don't know why the world asks them to stop killing Tibetians. That should be remembered at least.
>>946 Don't let yourself fall for the Chinese way of propaganda. Just be level-headed and consider what Chinese communist party wants to achieve. It's obvious. They don't want to lose their position they are in now. They want to justify everything they do, so Chinese people will not get angry at them.
六四天安門事件・天安門大屠殺 Red China army killed great number of Chinese democratization’s people in Tienanmen Square in 1989 Jun . Their China military’s tanks killed many democratic citizen . It was awesome and shocking !

>>922 >Have you ever heard of his name before? No, but that's not saying much, since I am neither a fan of yodeling nor of German TV. I've googled his name though, and he does seem to be relatively famous for a yodel singer. It's not surprising that he doesn't sell many CDs, not many people listen to that kind of music, and as far as I know the musicians make most of their money with live-performances.
>>930 >How do u feel about killing Jews? Not sure, I haven't killed many of them yet.
>>928 Actually, I've seen it used quite a few times in various articles, but it's definitely not an everyday word.
In other news, I just passed the last exam that stood between me and graduation! キタ━━━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━━━!!!!! It was an oral philosophy exam. I owned hard in metaphysics and epistemology, but didn't do too great in aesthetics. Still sufficed for a fairly good grade though (11 out of 15 points), about as good as it gets without studying for it, I guess. I'm just so glad that school is finally over.
>>966 Being a NEET would be awesome, if only it wasn't for the financial aspects... I'll probably end up doing something to do with computer programming though, so becoming a hikikomori who works at home would actually be a feasible goal. I'm a bit skeptical about university though, not sure if it's the right thing for me. But I'll probably give it a try for a year.
Sorry I haven't posted for a bit, life is busy right now with exams and all. Other stuff is going on too...but that's secondary.
Anyway, I have a question- I was recently reading an article from dannychoo.com and it had lots of pictures of Japanese people sleeping in public, sometimes in very strange positions. Is this common? Have any of you slept in public in strange positions?
>>968 I don't know exactly what you want to mean. In public? By that you mean, on the train or something? Then I think you can come across such scenes sometimes, but I still don't get what kind of position you have in head. Sleeping in the sitting position wouldn't be it (like some do on the train). But if you think it strange to you then probably it's strange to me also. That is, not common.
>>967 Wait. It thought you're graduating from uni. You're graduating from high school? Gorvenment pay all the tuition for uni students in Germany, right? If so, you should give it a try. At least you don't have to bear financial burden. Is there such a uni you go to for just a year? Or you mean you go uni for one year and decide if you keep going or quit?
>>968 I don't about strange positions but you often see drunk people who end up sleeping on the bench at station or in the train, or other public spaces.
I don't think many people sleep with their heads kept up to the ceiling and hands on their sides, legs put together. To a certain extent, people sleep in strange positions. If you sleep on the bench, you insinctively try to lie around and that causes strange position maybe?
What do you think about Iran? I read about the news that ex-president was re-elected. Iran is suspected of developping nuke weapons, isn't it? Iran and N.Korea must be dealing behind the scene concerning the development of ICBM and Nukes.. I don't think N.Korea doesn't make big news in Europe/America, but according to today's report, a spokesperson of N.K said North Korea would take any hard action against America (Japan & South Korea) if any tiny sanctions are put against it. I think N.K will conduct nuke experiments again..
>>968 >You're graduating from high school? Well, gymnasium. I guess you could compare it to having gone through high-school and maybe 2 years or so of college (that's how I explain it to Americans at least... Don't know much about the Japanese school system yet).
>Gorvenment pay all the tuition for uni students in Germany, right? Not anymore, unfortunately. In my state, attendance to a public university costs something on the order of 10万円 per year. So In addition to working part-time, I'll probably even have to take a credit.
>you mean you go uni for one year and decide if you keep going or quit Yeah, that's what I meant.
>>974 I think I understand what you mean. Thanks. The meaning of gymnasium is new to me. I understand it's sometimes difficult to explain school system to people from different countries.
10万円, 100 thousands yen a year isn't expensive for university tuition.
Haha so I'm a fake Canadian now? Sorry but this issue exists outside of just asia. BBC's done stories on Japanese schools hiding the Rape of Nanking and other WWII incidents from their textbooks.
Since you guys have no excuses for it I'll just assume you guys know how ridiculously fucked up this is. Japan is just as bad as China when it comes to censorship.
>>977 Who gives a shit to official history education in Japan? It just doesn't carry much weight here. We all know it's BS, and we just don't care. You might want to be more sensitive to the dichotomy between the tatemae (fa?ade) and honne (true feelings). The official denial of the Nanjing Massacre is a tatemae, and our honnne is elsewhere.
Um, this is an obvious troll, or just an eleven year-old kid who doesn't really know how to navigate 2ch. Either way, it's not really worth getting annoyed about.
Everyone writes English well. If I do not use a dictionary ,I can not write English. How did you study English? Please point it out . if it is strange in my English. I am sorry that a foolish elderly person wants to participate.
>>977 Also, the similar kind of "censorship" does exist in Western countries, and you would be very naive to think otherwise. It's just done so cleverly that the general public is not aware of it.
The quintessential example is the widely held view that the atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which killed over 200,000 civilians, were needed to end the Pacific War. Many professional historians, including Dr. Ronald Takaki, a Professor Emeritus at UC Berkeley, have pointed out that the weapons of mass destruction were unnecessary for that purpose. However, the U.S. hasn't changed its stance on them, and numerous efforts have been made to keep the information about A-bombs from the general populace.
>>975 >100 thousands yen a year isn't expensive for university tuition. True, and those fees aren't my main reason to contemplate not entering university. But I still think it's a bad political development that my country has introduced tuition fees at all.
>>982 >How did you study English? Me, I mostly played American computer games. Just find a few things that are fun to you and that involve reading and/or listening to English. As long as it's in the language you want to learn, you will be learning that language. It really doesn't matter what it is. Read about any topic that interests you, watch movies, do whatever it is you usually do for entertainment, except in English instead of in Japanese.
>I am sorry that a foolish elderly person wants to participate. Oh, don't worry about that. I don't think anyone here minds older people joining us. Quite the opposite, actually.
>>982 Don't worry. We don't care of such a thing if you are not spammer.
As you can see I am not good at writing in English. But I believe The most important thing to improve my English writing skills is to keep writing in English.
I don't know if sentences written by me are wrong. lol
>>982 I almost agree with ドイツ人. But if I add one more thing, German and English are in the same language group, so their grammars are quite similar and many English words derive from German. In other words, he had some advantage in learning English. But most Japanese people who start to learn the language at 12 or 13 years of age should learn basic grammar and words&idioms that aren't used in their daily lives. So it's tough to learn it especially at an early stage, but after you are through with it, just do whatever you want to, coz there's no goal when it comes to learning a language. In this point, I can't agree more with ドイツ人.
I've heard that there are very few people who speak English in German, while other Europeans speak English well. Esp Scandinavians are good at English. Why this happens?
>>984>>985>>987 Thanks. I try to write English and to be interested in English more. All thanks you for kind word. I am sorry for being able tp write only such a sentence. I endeavor to be able to write English fluently.
I tried but I couldn't make a new thread. Please make a new thread if you can. You can change Lotus tea to whatever tea you like. ---------- Chat in English (英語で雑談) Part 133
