is it ok to say " I am a NEET."? NEET is a noun? I thought NEET stands for Not in Employed, Education and Training. so technically it should " I am NEET." right? What do you think?
We used to be best friends but, thats not how this story story ends. Why did have to make me cry? I'm writing my feelings, writing my feelings about you. You say you hate our fights but, you made me cry every night and i hate it, I hate you. You said that i was changing but, you always said the same thing.... I hate your boyfriend, I hate my life, I wish someone would just stab me with a knife. You always tell me those three things but do you really mean it? I'm writing my feelings, writing my feelings about you. You say you hate our fights but, you made me cry every night and I hate it, I hate you. Now it's over and your no longer here but, I'll always be with you so have no fear and right now I'm writing my feelings....Writing my feelings....... about you
68 i think the first sentence say that he died sadly, and not happily, and the second one say that he didn't die and the person who say that is happy because of it.
I'm going to a midnight showing of the Narnia movie tonight. It's going to be just two degrees above freezing outside and I have a final exam tomorrow morning, but, I figure, how often do I get to see a movie at midnight?
You, too and welcome to one of Japan's most notorious BBS. I'm a Osakan citizen. Osaka is not a prefecture Region in Japan and has been in a similar situation to Tibet in China for the last several decades.
I have to go and will talk to you later. Again, welcome to this notorious BBS.
I am an English teacher in Japan. I teach both adults and children. Teaching adults is fun most of the time... Sometimes it's boring, but it's usually not very difficult.
Children, on the other hand... RRRRGGGRRRRGRRGRRRRRGRR.
Most of the children do not want to study... they are just coming to class because their parents tell them to. So many of them would rather talk or horse around during class instead of being quiet and behaving. I have a hard time keeping them in line sometimes... it's very stressful and very difficult.
Of course, not all kids are evil; some of them are really trying to learn, and they'll sit quietly in class and behave. But at least half of them are just little demons, it seems... I can't take the stress and I lose my temper.
I'm afraid my company will not want to re-hire me for next year because I'm so bad at handling the kids.
I see…. I think and I hope children around you understand YOU the best. They know sure that you are working hard everyday. You shoud have faith in yourself. Come on!! TO 105
I have been studying english for about 10 years after graduate university. I always interested in the skill how to achieve higher comunication revel in English. But recently I realise that to master english is very difficult for non native worker. Now I read a book and find some unknown words. And memorise them. That is all.Very small step but stedy one. I want to know easy way to familialise english.
Everytime I see someone make this type of thread, I can't help but thinking about why he/she doesn't search for a chatroom full of native English speakers and join them. I have to admit just talking with Japanese in English can help you improve your English, but since you have Internet connection and you are connected to English speaking people without borders, I recommend you just jump in their world and communicate with them in various chatrroms.
You might feel isolated in these chatrooms not being able to find a topic to share, or feel dissapinted not being able to understand what they are talking about. But I believe it's a step in the right derection to make yourself go farther about learning English. If you search well enough, you can find chatrooms full of native English speakers who are very friendly to Japanese people.
Making e-mail pals is another way to improve your writing skill. Well, anyway, my point is that don't just mingle with Japanese English learners here in you. Instead, be adventurous and get into the virtual English speaking world on the Net. Get out of your comfortable zone and you'll see a new horizon.
>>119 you're assuming that i don't go for any chatrooms other than here. you're making a grave mistake... and don't be a twat. it just shows how stupid and self-centred you are... besides, i don't need to improve my english... lol
>>120 Seems like you have pretty good command of English. I just wrote 119 from my own experience and if you don't agree with me and think I am self-centered or stupid or whatever, I can't do anything about it.
Communicating with you here in this thread contradicts my point so I think I'd better go now. See you around.
>>122 Now I understand what kind of person you are. You are a lonely, boring English speaker who has nothing to do except chatting with English learners here. Lots of native English speakers who are losers in their country come to Japan to teach English without having certification or degree of teaching English. Here they can be another person acting like a popular guy.
why do you assume things? why do you think all the english speakers here are losers? i tell you this again: never assume anything you don't really know. cuz, you're just showing everyone here how stupid and small-minded you really are. grow up!
>>122 You'd better learn to type shift key to type capital letters. Or Do you happened to think writing without capital letters is cool or something? lol Your elementary school teacher would feel ashamed of you. Maybe your mom would start fucking with a dog next door shocked if she knew you can't even type correctly.
>>127 you can't tell me what to do, fascist! i thought " Communicating with me here in this thread contradicts your point"... lol bringing my mom into this doesn't really help your cause. cuz it just shows how sad you really are (on top of everything else you've already shown to us - cheers!) i feel sorry for you...
I have seen some English speakers who were kind of like regulars in some threads. From what I know they are all interested in Japanese or Japanese culture and study Japanese. Now they are all gone. They didn't like to be anonymous and were driven away by stupid men who don't like someone posting a message with a handle name.
>>123 >Lots of native English speakers who are losers in their country >come to Japan to teach English without having certification or degree >of teaching English. You went so far as to say that, but I would say that that would not be off the mark.
>>128 Now that I know your mother tongue is English, chatting with you here doesn't contradict my point. I insist in 119 that chating with native English speakers helps to improve your English. As long as you are a native Enslish speaker, however his/her IQ seems low, I am not contradicting my point.
>>131 why are you here anyway? cuz of me? how sweet... but if you think my iq is low, then what's the point of talking to me? as you said before, i think you should improve your english a bit more in "chatrooms" and with your "e-pals". they might also give you a hand on how to socialise properly with grown-ups. anyway, i am not here to improve your english. lol
so could you please kindly remove yourself from this thread? cheers!
Well, to be honest, why I post messages here tonight is that now I am thinking about taking an English proficiency test in January which is well known among Japanese English learners. I am thinking about taking Grade one test. Even if I pass it, that doesn't show I am as fluent as a native English speakers. In fact, far from it. I know that. But passing Grade one means you are a avid, serious English learner.
In the test there is a writing section where you write your opiniopn about a given topic in about 200 words. That's why I tried writing something here in this thread. I didn't expect a native English speaker show up and respond to my posts. It was challenging to respond to him/her in English but it was a good way to organize my thoughts and respond as quickly as possible.
Japanese people, please stop being surprised about foreigners using chopsticks. After all, retarded Japanese pre-schoolers can use chopsticks too, right? So it's a bit insulting when I'm at a restaurant and someone is surprised that I can use chopsticks as well as I can. It's like saying, "Wow, you're as smart and dexterous as a retarded toddler! I never knew!"

Oh,yuck! Here is riddled with unpleasant words! Let's have a constructive talk to improve our English skills. That said this would be the mirgin of 2ch…
Thank you for encouragement!! It's an end-of-term exam. I've to leave for school any time now. If I punch in red, it's wag-the-dog :-> I'll do my best at all!!
NEETs are just lazy losers. We should throw away them. They are very stupid. They spend thier 24 hours, internet, on-line game, wanking or sleeping. They are also useless morons.
Yukorin hates you. She loves a rich man or handsome guy. just like many idols. Idols always tell lie in front of media and thier fans. We are being deceived,
Yukorin looks mentally ill. I think she really is. On the other hand, NEET people are great! They are the key to peace and freedom, I think. Americans are fat, right? They eat pizza every day of the week! Oh yeah, I don't like toilets because they have an unpleasant smell. Yuck. Smells like Yukorin! So true! So true!
>>240 living: X "Just the thought makes me cough out my last meal!" O "Just the thought makes me cough out my latest meal!"

>>16 I've been to Canada, didn't see that much of it though. Mainly parts of the city Brandon and a bit of Winnipeg. I was quite amused at discovering that they had polar bears on the streets of Winnipeg. They were only polar bear statues though, scattered over various places.
>>70>>150 I've been busy and under a lot of stress lately. So I've been trying to do my best, but in order to do that I have to sacrifice spending time on some other things. When things get tough, I try to maintain a positive attitude. But sometimes, it gets hard.
>>245 X "most of the rest of the world and a big chunk of america is wondering the same." O "Most of the rest of the world and a big chunk of America are wondering the same." O "Most of the rest of the world and a big chunk of USA are wondering the same."
"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." -Scott Adams (1957 - ), 'The Dilbert Principle'
"Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes." -Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948)
"When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long. Take the reason of the thing into your mind and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power." -Hugh White (1773 - 1840)
"If you have made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance for you. What we call failure is not the falling down but the staying down." -Mary Pickford (1893 - 1979)
>>248 Actually, >>246 IS >>247 . I know this because I wrote both posts. I was pointing out that mistakes happen and are vital for one's development. Everyone errs once in a while. It's a natural part of improving. Let's all learn from our mistakes and become better.
>>250 I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a... fraid.
>>256 Being a foreigner (as in not japanese) too, I can't really answer that question. I can however give you sage advise, the kind that's hopelessly obscure and vague and in the end you have to wonder if you didn't just imagine it being helpful.. Still better than nothing though.
>>252 No, I live in Shibuya. I have a nice box to sleep in. >>253 Good luck! May the Yukorin be with you...! >>259 Sure! Just as long as you aren't a NEET person or a Yukorin mania. My name is Dave, but you can call me Bagel Boy. Does anybody want to be my friend?
Situaion is not good for him right now. So he must accept the insulting reality, but says to himself in his heart ""I can't go on without retribution for this bitterness."
Ah, I understand now. Thanks for your help. I have some difficulty with colloquial Japanese, and the dictionary and machine translation are mostly only useful for translating the more formal phrases.
Just because you knew an expression, MAS, doesn't mean he isn't Japanese. To put it another way, any Japanese knows that phrase, which means it's more natural to think he's a Japanese.
It seems to be a slang expression among younger generation but I sometimes hear adults (in their thirties or even fourties) say it with a jocular tone.
>>319 Oh, no, but thanks for asking. I decided to look at them when I'm in Japan. I already have a good dictionary on my PDA. I might get one from Akihabara.
I was wondering if the three wouldn't go back to 4ch or some other message system where there's no Japanese and they can talk with each other to their hearts content.
just a week ago, in the chatting thread came a kind boy called koji, who always treated anyone fairly and talked back to anyone who even felt sick and tired of life. he helped out as many people as Jesus Christ did. he let them know there is a cute girl whose name is Yukorin. he knew her smiles and vanilla-scented fart made them happy and forget about anything depressing.
As you all may know, Sir Wi was very wise when he was a high-schooler. He passed the examination of Kyoto univ and spent all his time studying in order to become a lawyer-he must've specialised in laws. But he failed. Several attempts ended up with complete failures. After that, he lost his hope and wanted to do nothing. He was like a dead person, before he found English very interesting and worth learning. He loved the language so much that he invented a new method of learning it. That's what's called the SW method.
Seemingly, he is a mad man and suffers from schizophrenia but he has the brain. Sir Wi got over his failure and now he preaches us to study English as effectively as we can even in Japan. He's noble.
>>331 Japanese people will love it when a foreign visitor speaks any Japanese. You might want to try 「ごーめんなさい」 with the stress put on "ごー" just like the way the Swiss martial artist アンドレ・フグ (I don't know the spelling) cried out in a Japanese instant noodle commercial.
>>325 4-ch does have a few Japanese visitors. It's a pretty international site. I visit it rather rarely along with a few other sites though. Why should people go to where there are no Japanese speakers?
On >>338 I was mistaken. アンドレ・フグ is Andy Hug, not アンドレ (Andre). And his famous line in the commercial "強麺(ごうめん)" was 「ごーめんなさいよ」 I remembered it with one letter off: よ.
>>344 Yeah :-D Unfortunately though he's been stressing a lot about his essays lately. He needs to learn to handle his stress better. He doesn't take living alone too well. Frustrating to not be able to help him properly, he did rather well on the essay he wrote while I visited him. I couldn't help him on the actual essay content, nor should I have, but it made him feel better to have someone to proofread his text and give him hugs when he was being frustrated about it not being as good as he wanted it to. He's a perfectionist -_-;;; Hm. I'm rambling. Sorry.
>>341 Actually I used to frequent that thread in order to further my English ability. But I got tired of it due to my pure laziness and now I rarely go there. Plus, I think it's rather too much of responsibility on my shoulder to deal with those translation requests because most of them are written for a third party unknown to me, so I can't and shouldn't take it easy and give answers to them if I'm not a hundred percent sure of what I'm doing. In contrast to that, this thread is much carefree.
>>353 I need a kanji dictionary to decrypt that message. That reminds me of what I was meaning to ask. The electronic dictionary you had in mind was Canon Wordtank C50, right? The kanji dictionary in that one covers only JIS kanji (6355 characters), and if you want to read Japanese literature, that would hardly serves your purpose. You need Canon Wordtank G55 (with 13112 kanjis) or other models by SII that contains 新漢語林 (14313 kanjis) to be a kanji master.
>>355 That's an interesting tool. The only kanji-related tool I know of is Mojikyo. Mojikyo fontset includes over 120,000 characters. http://www.mojikyo.org/
>>355 120,000?! That's quite a bit. I'll have to check it out later. Wakan has served me quite well for most day to day usage though, with a reasonably adequate 20,000 or so characters.
Our Yukorin is also kinda achitect. Because she built herself to pretend pretty and innocent. We are being deceived by her, to buy her many goods, CDs, calender, and photo-books. But Government and her company hate to compensate.
haha some people dont understand ANYTHING LOL "egan to irritate, spewing pointless lyrics like "walking in the void/too much space/nothing in my mind/it's all erased","
of course she is not "girls who are generally blonde(not always)/bitchy/mean/spoiled/"hot/trendy and ALL THAT!" who think they have a certain power over all other people. Mostly brainless and ditsy!."
lol maybe she thinking something like "wow I am forced that handsome guy to like me and he is even older that me" and then it's adds something to her large ego lolololololol if that's true then love is over hahahahahha
hey subject... sorry i'm not around here that often these days... hope you're doing ok. i've been busy sorting out my future. lol life is really shitty... but can't help it. hehehe
In most cases, those who say something is boring or shitty don't make any efforts to make his life stimulating. You are absolutely the kind of people. If you think your life is shitty, it's you who has to be blame. Stop complaining, loser. Instead of posting how your life is miserable, stuff your mouth with your dick and shut up.
>>427 You could won the Gold medal in the gymnastic event of Olympic if you could stuff your dick into your mouth. And that could make your life turn around and made your life step in the better direction. Direction. Good luck on the next Game.
Imagine a gymnast turning around int he air, sticking his own dick in his mouth. He could cover the front page on the next day and he would be nominated a person of the year by the Time magazine.
>>430 haha... cheers! i know some female contortionists can lick theirs. but never seen a male contortionist sucking his own... no matter, i'm too inflexible for that. i will work very hard for the game, nonetheless. thanks for all your kind support. lol
I don't mind introducing you to a world famous trainer to be competitive in the Game. If I remember correctly, he can teach you how to lick your anal while performing on the rings. Good luck.
hey berenjena I know you're anonymous :) who posted before. why dont you give me ur aim? I promise not to talk about YOUR personality and YOUR life and things YOU dont want to talk about cuz I feel the same about my past. cuz I can feel that you're lolo----t or not?(zomg meme 500k do you remember it??? it was great GET lolololo) I am doing english homework now! stupid translations! haha not sage!!!
yeah... but I am that anonymous who talked with u few hours(or an hour) ago about that girl!! but I dont really want to talk about personal stuff and other crap in here, cuz it's public message board and it's really strange to write personal stuff here :)
About 4-ch: I know that a lot of people wonder what's interesting about it. Well, if you're used to having a forum like 2ch, it's probably not very interesting. Just the fact that it's much smaller will probably make it boring to some people.
For someone like me, someone who doesn't speak much Japanese, it's cool because I don't have a forum like 2ch. I can post in the English forums, but, if people got annoyed with me bumbling through one of the other forums in broken Japanese mixed with English, I can't really blame them.
So, the point is, it's probably not very fascinating to someone who has access to a forum like this, but not everyone has access to a forum like this.
>>450 I am not native speaker of english. I am just have great interest in japanese culture. I like modern culture. you know japan always was fascinating country like me. people like HIROMIX, TAKASHI MURAKAMI, etc. I love japanesse photography and art and other crap.
This forum is getting some attention from other countries, not only is 2ch the largest forum in the world, but other countries are starting to get their heads out of their asses and notice. ;)
>>456 BBC introduced this board? AMazing. I've heard NY times did, too. I wonder how you could mannaged to reach this board and this thread where ENglish learners gathers rummaging through from the top page of 2ch. It seems almost impossible if you don't understand Japanese
>>458 So what is your native language? I speak English, and Spanish. Culturally they are both my native languages, but I was primarily raised speaking English, with some Spanish.
>>458 Thnaks for answering my question. I am Japanese but haven't heard of HIROMIX, TAKASHI MURAKAMI. Only Murakami I know is Haruki MUrakami, novelist whose novels are translated in ENglish and has gotten good press overseas.
>>467 I know HARUKI MURAKAMI too. I liked some of his books. I also know RYU MURAKAMI. his book LOVE&POP is great. do you remember thing called enjokosai? was it real?
>>472 I know of Ryu Murakami. You seem to know a lot about Japanese pop culture. And YEs to Enjo KOsai, It's still everywhere. Older guys give some money to a female high school students in exchnage for sex or somethig equivelant like blow job with girls, although I haven't read his book and how he describes enjokosai in his book.
Yes. I sometimes forget that, because I don't really follow much baseball. I'm loyal to the Yankees over the Mets, but thats about as far as I go most of the time.
Seriously, the format is very different from most other forums I've seen, except of course, forums that are inspired by this forum. In short, I found the idea of this forum interesting, when I read about it in Wikipedia. So of course, I had to check it out.
to tell you the truth, i didn't like this place at all when i first came here. sometimes people (some japanese) are like kids who want to try out some newly learnt slangs and swear words... well, just to show off to the fellow japanese in here, i guess.
Things I like about 2ch: The ability to be anonymous, with the choice to use things like tripcodes.
The fact that I don't have to "register" is a huge plus. You have no idea how many accounts I have online. I wince every time I register for a new one, because I lose track of them so quickly, and am not comfortable with giving out my personal information to that many sites.
The fact that it covers so many topics. I don't know if there is a forum in the US that has nearly the variety of topics that this forum has. Even the English 2ch-style boards don't have nearly as many topics.
yeah... i agree. i hate registering on every single site i go to. i can't even remember all my passwords now, coz there are too many of them. too much for berenjena. lol
>>528 lol Actually, that problem poses a computer security risk for a few people. More often than not, the user picks out the same one, because they have so much trouble remembering that many passwords.
So, if someone manages to get the password for one account, they often can have access to a lot more than that one account.
that's what i thought. so i have a different password for almost every one of those sites. hehehe... but i don't actually go there anymore anyway. so all i'm left with is how to deal with junks they send to me now and then.
I can understand a *little* bit of spoken Japanese. My ability to read Japanese is worse. I do have an interest in learning how to speak and read Japanese.
yeah... i think i've sorted out most of them now. but i am a kind of person who doesn't want to see any junk mails in the inbox first thing in the morning! lol but cheers for the advice.
>>536 I wouldn't say I speak it well, but I guess it helps that I lean towards using the short vowel sound rather than the long one when I encounter a new word.
>>546 I was wondering about that myself, having just looked up the term. It's surprisingly specific. We've got a metric shit ton of terms for that here, and they're often vague.
I'm sure that a lot of people with jobs are dissatisfied with their jobs enough to seek a better one, but most of the time people seem willing to stick with a shitty job rather than try to find a better one.
I'm also dropping my tripcode for now. I had it there mostly for bene's sake.
Am I correct in guessing that it's a quiz? If that's the case, does this mean that the rest of the threads are used by people to talk about, practice, and learn about English?
I know it seems obvious, but I didn't understand at first.
>>551 The thread you copied and pasted was the one for junior high and high school kids, although English learners of all ages can come and post there. The translation of the title of the thread is kind of like this, "a thread to answer questions of homework of junior and high school kids."
>does this mean that the rest of the threads are used by people to talk about, practice, and learn about English?
That's right. Basically, that's what this English board of 2 channel is for. We English learners exchange informarion on English language school here in Japan in some threads while in others we talk about efficient ways to improve our English. In some threads people don't come and post so often, while in others lots of people come and post.
After all, as you can see there are more than 600 hundreds threads here in this English board.
Good evening! How are you doing now? I'm playing the game, "Tales of the abyss." Although loading time is slightly long, battle is very exciting! Let's play it in this winter vacation!
I had to give a promotion test to a student tonight. If she passed the test, she would have been eligible to receive the tax discount from the Japanese government for studying English. But unfortunately, she couldn't answer half of the questions correctly and I had to fail her...
Students, be careful with particles like "in" and "on" and "at." They're little tiny words, but they are very important in English!
Ando Mikitty perfectly resemble beautiful fairy on the ice-board, she makes me comfortable on the other hand, All female residents on 2ch are perfectly King-kong, they make me vomit
Hey, King-Kongs! Have you looked at a mirror yet? Then it must show a beast, but it's your face! You get out from here! You are fatter than a pig, you are feminist because men hate your looks. But you can help me when I feel throw up
I am 36 years old. I work at a warehouse. My yearly salary is 100,000 yen. I love Emma Watson. I wanna marry her. Some people look down on me calling warehouse idiot. This is my brief introduction. That's all.
I'm love'n studing English, or exposed to the threat of doing so.
I,ve a plan to travail in China to Paki in spring, 2006. I can't speak Chinese ,but read and write Chinese character(only Japanese Ver.) In other places, like Nepa, India, I believe English can save my life.
So I'll keep useing this thread. If you have some advise in my journey plan or my English, please tell me. thanks.
Help me. My English friend is in my home here. He will go back to his country in the Christmas Holiday. Then, He will buy a comic book for nieces as a Japanese souvenir. What's the most good comic for 15 old girl? MAJIRESUKIBON
>>704 That's good! thanks. But he said, "She wants to introduce Japanese comic. Then, she needs The interesting comics that nobody knows. No English OK." Many popular comics are sold abroad (like Card captor sakura).
Mao Asada has just won the women's event at the figure skating Grand Prix Final. That means she is right now, arguably, the best female figure skater in the world. But unfortunately, due to age limite, she won't be allowed to participate in the upcoming Olympics in Turin. The Olympic games are supposed to be for the best of the best. But without Mao, that won't be the case. You gotta do something about this injustice!!
It's got nothing to do with a lolita complex thingy. It's about how good Mao is. It's about many people who want Mao to represent Japan in the Olympics. That stupid age limite has to go.
>>720 You are only talking about little girl aged less than 20 in spite of you are 36aged. Mao Asada, Emma Watson, Saki Aibu and Saki Fukuda. You are lolita-complexed idiot who works for warehouse! You should be arrested to prevent causing any victims.
>>813 Noob, newb and n00b, they all stand for newbie, which is short for new beginner. Often not a positive word, however that depends on where. Some places use it as a neutral word, other use it as an insultive word.
i am going to take the entrance examination of TODAI the year after next. Then , Please answer my question .it is whether or not i will pass it if I master「黒大数」
I will fight against you because you are fanatic stalker and mania for yukorin. you consider Saki Fukuda is a top-class rival of Yukorin in idol industry, but actually Saki is a clear winner, yukorin isnt even an enemy
Christmas is soon here, does anybody have any particular plans for it? And I've been told that Christmas is celebrated rather differently in Japan than in some of the European/North american countries. Rather than it being the time you spend with your family, New Years is. Is that really so? What kind of holiday is Christmas, then? I'm spending Christmas with my family, and New Years with my boyfriend (^-^)
>>826 >>827 Fag is also slang for a cigarette. "Mind if I bum a fag?" Though my example sentance sounds pretty hilarious if you aren't aware of that meaning of fag, and bum as a verb.
>>834 Thank you, though that would depend on the native speaker. I've been told that when it comes to conveying information, my level is near-native if not as good as native. However, my grammar is somewhat shoddy at times. Especially when I make a typo, misspell a word, forget to re-adjust the entire sentance after modifying a piece of it or accidentally use Swedish language rules to form a piece of a sentance without realizing that I'm doing so. The latter works both ways though, I've caught myself using English sentance structures a few times in Swedish. Rather embarassing to catch yourself doing so -_-;; Ah well.. The hazards of being multi-lingual.
>>836 Depends on them, I'd say. If they're both wanting the same kind of relationship, I don't really see anything wrong with it. If one of them wants a fling and the other one a more serious relationship.. Then that's not a too good thing. But then again, that isn't something that's limited to age.
>>841 Heh. Sorry, no. She's a few days older than me (if I recall correctly), and by far prettier. Ah well, not really anything I can do about it. She's also cuter than me.
To MAS, can I ask you something? I've been studying English. But honestly, it's hard for me to understand it correctly, I mean, especially when listening. Could you be a narrater for us English learners? I'd like you to read out and record some texts and upload files. In return, we can do the same, whatever text you like. What do you say?
>>847 The legend of the philosopher's stone. It's for free, because some amature programer created it. Do you love RPGs? If you do, I can introduce some J-RPGs available for free, also created by amatures, though.
>>849 Ah. Sadly I don't have time to play computer games, especially not lately, but if it's a good one then I know people who'd love to give it a try. The name sounds a bit as if it would have been related to Full Metal Alchemist or Harry Potter o.O;;
Also, sadly enough I don't know Japanese at this point, so if it's in that language it won't be of much use to me nor the friends who would possibly be interested in it.
No one seems to back me up now, but I'll talk everyone into going along with my plan. I'm so patient. I believe I could do anything if I put my mind to it.
You guys don't want to sound like me, trust me. I sound like David Beckham. You should find someone who sounds more English. On this site you can talk with native speakers via your computer: http://www.twinguide.com/changeLocale.do?language=ja
>>856 >Full Metal Alchemist or Harry Potter Well, no, it's nothing to do with either of them, though it's a namesake of Harry Potter's first volume. And yes, I think it's good to play. But as I said, I'm stuck in a rut because of my PC...
Now that you mention it, I thought you've learned or have interest in the Japanese language like MAS does.
MAS, should I take it that you don't want to do it? I thought it was a good idea to help each other learn languages though. But if you won't change your mind by any means, then....
>>864 Well, I do have an interest in it. It's only passive at the moment though, since I really don't have time to study the language right now. My boyfriend studies Japanese, so it's inevitable that I will learn the language at some point. Just can't study it right now.
>>869 I see. Many Japanese people who try to learn English have the same ploblem.. They can read somewhat, but have difficulties getting themselves across in English. In fact, I'm feeling the same way. It's been difficult to put into English, what I really want to say.
By the way, just out of curiousity, is there lots of educational materials out there for Japanese learners such as vocabulary books or grammar books or everyday expressions books, etc? In Japan, we can easily get at English books. How does it like where you are?
>>872 I don't really use books anymore. My main source is the internet which abounds with Japanese learning material. When I did use books I would buy them from Amazon.co.uk because local book shops only had a very limited selection. My main textbook was "Japanese For Everyone" which took me over a year to complete.
>>872 I can't even read Japanese somewhat, though. So a lot of Japanese are far better off when it comes to understanding the other language. I understand a small bunch of words if spoken, and i can't read kanji. I only very little about japanese culture in comparison to e.g. you, but more than many people who haven't studied it or only been exposed to japanese culture through japanese movies, manga and anime. Hurrah for osmosis?
I live in Sweden, and there are some Japanese-learning books at places. They're not terribly common, but they're not very rare either. I think it's probably much easier to find expression books than vocabular books. Most of the books I've seen have been that kind, but then again I've never actually properly investigated.
>>884 This is the best place to find a penpal: http://www.japan-guide.com/local/index_j.html?aCAT=2 When I wrote a message on that site about a month ago I had 11 people email me. If you want your message translating in English post it here and I'll do it for you.
>>893 > Writing a good detailed message will increase the number of people who respond.
In fact, that's the problem if >>884's English level is not high enough, you know. So 884 gets many responses with your help, but won't be able to keep the correspondence in no time at all. And that would make those who wrote to 884 be troubled.
>>886 I know you can't recognize me, but I really talked some times with you before, so unless I'm mistaken, you've learned Germany and English, That must be hard work. >Hurrah for osmosis? Does that mean getting used to languages is a shortcut for learning them? Sorry, I'm bit slow.
>They're not terribly common, but they're not very rare either. Intersting. Maybe it's like Germany expression books sold in Japan. They're not so common, but not so rare either.
Let me tell you something. I'm 38 years old and I'm going out with my co-worker this weekend. She's 25. I want to make love to her but I can't see what's on her mind.
>>894 You'll probably need to use a PC because you need to write long emails to your pen pals. >>896 He should just pick one or two of the best respondents then become pen pals with them. Having more than 2 pen pals takes too much time if you work or go to school.
>>909 I didn't mean that the number of the penpals was the problem. Even if the penpal was only one, 884 who seems to be not good at writing in English, wouldn't be able to communicate with him/her. And that can be rude.
>>940 Heh. And why should I be the one changing underwear? I'm perfectly comfortable as I am. :-D
Why don't you change your underwear to a pair of snow white underwear? That way someone would end up in white underwear, and all will be well with the board again. x-D
>>952 Too bad! I just sent my snow white underware to cleaning. OK then, I'll be reasonably happy with you in your raven-black panties. Be an angel and do it for me.
>>969 Yes you can continue with your being amused! Raven-black panties are regarded as angelic since the Cold War in Heaven. Be my Angel and say you will wear them, pu-lee-se!
>>974 Sorry, but like I said, I'm perfectly comfortable as I am :) You can always wear black panties, though. :-D Isn't it a fetish in some circles, even? People wearing underwear of the opposite gender.
>>980 I wouldn't call myself a demon, but that's just me and anyone who knows me. :-D Reminds me of the ridiculous usage of the word "whore" in e.g. schools/universities. If a girl turns a boy down, she's called a whore by the guy directly because of not behaving like one. Now that's an oxymoron with a capital M.
