'Im afraid no native speakers' on the other hand is out and
out wrong.
Now I could have used 'afraid' in 'repairing' the second
sentence,
"I'm afraid that there aren't any."

However I should note that in my opinion the use of
'I'm afraid' always implies a _negative_ view of some
situation although it obviously doesn't literally mean
'frightened'.

On second thoughts I'd probably go with a rather looser
