>32 08 Dec 2002 16:08 GMT PARIS (Reuters) - Film director Peter Jackson has lived every minute of "The Lord of the Rings" for seven years and now increasingly resembles one of his hobbit heroes. But the bearded New Zealander is dreading the day when he will have to say goodbye to one of the biggest projects in the history of cinema: the film trilogy he made that majestically captures the fantasy world of J.R.R. Tolkien's classic saga. He felt intense pressure last year with the first film, "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring". Millions of Tolkien fans around the world had personal visions of Middle Earth, with its fantastical elves, orcs and hobbits. The future of the studio, New Line Cinema, also hung on his success. But the fairy tale came true. The movie became a worldwide box office hit, grossing $860 million and grabbing four Oscars after a near-record 13 nominations. Now Jackson is back on the global promotion trail for "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers", which opens on December 18. The renewed pressure does not stop him adopting a laid-back approach to the media, as show business reporters interview him before the film's European premiere in Paris.
The tousle-haired and dishevelled director strode into the conference room of an elegant Paris hotel barefoot and dressed in shorts. A diminutive and burly figure, Jackson is a dead ringer for one of the hobbits he put so memorably on the screen. He has no regrets about giving a huge slice of his life over to this great saga. "'Lord of the Rings' is one of the things I am happy to spend seven years of my life on," he said. "The first film certainly had pressures of its own," he said. "If the first film wasn't a success, it was possible the studio would not have survived." Once the hoopla has died down after the second film is released, he will move straight into post-production on the third movie, which will be released at Christmas next year. Already nostalgia is creeping in. "I expect next year is going to be bittersweet," he said. "I expect I am going to be, in some respects, relieved to get to the end of it. But it will be like saying goodbye to an old friend." But how does he keep motivated on such a giant undertaking and keep a sense of vision after 18 months of non-stop shooting in New Zealand, now that he and the 2,400-strong film crew have the three movies in the can? "Ultimately, I am spending seven years of my life on the project. But each film is different from the one before, and that keeps you fresh," he said. The film, going head to head at the box office with Harry Potter and James Bond in the run-up to Christmas, is being given a spectacular round-the-world send-off, with premieres from New York to Sydney and Copenhagen to Wellington.
For Liv Tyler It's Tough Being Immortal Sun December 8, 2002 06:24 PM ET
PARIS (Reuters) - For Hollywood star Liv Tyler, it's tough being immortal. "It must be such a drag being 3,000 years old. What a burden -- the aching bones," she said, reflecting on her role as the elf princess Arwen who lives forever in the latest Lord of the Rings" movie. "It was hard as an actor to get your head around these characters who are so perfect and wise," she said of her part in the fantasy saga "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" that is released worldwide on December 18. "I feel very proud of the film," she said of the second movie in a trilogy that brings to life the magical world of Middle Earth from J.R.R Tolkien's 20th century classic. "It was hard to be an elf and to be in Tolkien's world." she told journalists on a promotional tour to Paris for the film's European premiere. Traveling the world to give the film a publicity boost has offered Tyler some intriguing contrasts. "New York audiences participate and cheer in the exciting bits. They get involved. In England, they are silent. Nobody talks." The three movies were filmed back-to-back in New Zealand over 18 months by director Peter Jackson. The giant project cost $300 million to film -- and the first movie in the trilogy already made $860 million at the box office.
つづき(URL忘れた ttp://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=entertainmentNews&storyID=1870943) For much of the young cast making the movies, it was a real case of male bonding. They would travel around Asia together on their time off from shooting in New Zealand. But not Tyler. "When I wasn't shooting, I would go home. I was kinda homesick. They were young and wild and wanted to check out the world." For Tyler, it is now time to move on and she confessed she would love to make a musical. But the daughter of rubber-lipped Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler and rock " supergroupie" Bebe Buell is not ready to give up the day job quite yet -- even though she lives with Royston Langdon, lead singer with the group Spacehog. "I have sung on a couple of my friends' records and I do little fun things. But I would not know where to begin with writing a song. If you left me in a room with a guitar, I wouldn't know what to do," she confessed. "When I was a kid, all I wanted to be was a singer. I didn't know anything about acting because I grew up around musicians," she said of her eccentric and bohemian upbringing. She originally thought her father was rock star Todd Rundgren. "I didn't get my lineage sorted out until I was 10," she said of the discovery that Tyler was her Dad. As a teenager, Liv Tyler made a striking appearance in an Aerosmith video. One critic fondly recalled how she "memorably struggled in a war of containment with an insurgent silver brassiere." The music is still clearly very much in the genes. "Luckily I live with a musician and my dad is a musician," she said. And there is that one big acting ambition she would dearly love to fulfil. "I have always wanted to be in a musical," she said. "'Sweet Charity' is one of my favorites. I can't wait to see 'Chicago' when it comes out."

It's a gift for my father from Captain Faramir to show his quality
So that is answer to all the riddles. A chance for Faramir, captain of Gondor, to show his quality" ……

Ringer Fan Aurinos writes: About a month or so ago, an interview (most likely this one from the Scotsman that we posted) was published where Liv Tyler spoke about recording a song for Lord of the Rings. It was assumed it would appear in The Two Towers, but it did not. However, it looks like her song will be used ... in RoTK!
LIV TYLER's following in her father's footsteps by singing a song on the third LORD OF THE RINGS soundtrack.
The actress sings a tune in elfish in the final installment of PETER JACKSON's JRR TOLKIEN epic and producers were so taken with the love song they insisted it was added to the film's soundtrack.
She says, "I think it's called ARWEN'S SONG.
When Peter was editing the film he felt a song would be perfect as a finale in the third film, so I recorded it.

Merry: It's the trees. Pippin: What? Merry: You remember the Old Forest? On the borders of Buckland? Folks used to say that there was something in the water that made the trees tall, and come alive. Pippin: Alive? Merry: Trees that could whisper, talk to each other, even move.
#5 "What Business in the Riddermark?" Eomer: What business does an elf, a man, and a dwarf have in the Riddermark? Speak quickly! Gimli: Give me your name, horsemaster, and I shall give you mine. Eomer: I would cut off your head, Dwarf, if it stood but a little higher from the ground. [Legolas, in a lightning fast move, points an arrow at Eomer.] Legolas: You would die before your stroke fell! [The riders all point their spears closer to the travelers. Aragorn pushes down Legolas’ arm.] Aragorn: I'm Aragorn, son of Arathorn. This is Gimli, son of Gloin, and Legolas, from the Woodland realm. We are friends of Rohan and of Theoden, its King. ELROND: If Aragorn survives this war, You will still be parted. If Sauron is defeated and Aragorn made king and all that you hoped for comes true... you will still have to taste the bitterness of mortality.
#11"Ten Thousand Strong" Theoden: A great host, you say? Aragorn: All Isengard is emptied. Theoden: How many? Aragorn: Ten thousand strong at least. Theoden: Ten-thousand?! Aragorn: It is an army bred for a single purpose: to destroy the world of Men. They will be here by nightfall. Theoden: Let them come.
#12"Maybe We Should Go Home" Pippin: Maybe Treebeard’s right. We don’t belong here, Merry. It’s too big for us. What can we do in the end? We’ve got the Shire. Maybe we should go home. Merry: The fires of Isengard will spread. And the woods of Tuckburough and Buckland will burn. And all that was once green and good in this world will be gone. There won’t be a Shire, Pippin.
#13"Skill with the Blade" Aragorn: You have some skill with a blade. Eowyn: Women of this country learned long ago that those without swords may still die upon them. I fear neither death nor pain. Aragorn: What do you fear my lady? Eowyn: A cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them. And all chance of valor has gone beyond recall or desire. Aragorn: You are a daughter of kings. A shieldmaiden of Rohan. I do not think that will be your fate.

セオデン王が「For death and glory?
Aragorn: I'm Aragorn, son of Arathorn. This is Gimli, son of Gloin, and Legolas, from the Woodland realm. We are friends of Rohan and of Theoden, its King. Eomer: Theoden no longer recognizes friend from foe. [He takes helmet off.] Not even his own kin.
Aragorn handing the brooch back to it's rightful owner, Pippin. This sounds cool , because if you remember TTT preview the opening scene was of Aragorn picking up Pippin's brooch , and to have the preview of RoTK to start with this scene, it makes for a great continuation. That would (also) be our first glimpse of the reunion aka the road to Isengard.
Ride of the Rohirrim Merry pledging his sword Pippin approaching the palantir Shots establishing Gondor, perhaps moments before the SIEGE OF GONDOR The meeting between Faramir and Eowyn Establishing shots of Pellenor fields Mouth of Sauron Aragorn walking up to the palantir Pippin riding with Gandalf on Shadowfax Shots establishing moments before the battle at the black gate Aragorn in his Gondorian armor, riding into battle Paths of the dead "Minor" shots of Shelob
THE BIG FINALE, I have possible dialouge to go with this one ... Frodo and Sam by the crack of Doom, SAM: DESTROY it Mr. Frodo! FRODO: no ... I will not destroy it! THE RING IS MINE!!!
>>812 そりゃね、戸田奈津子以上に「曲解した創作字幕」だからだよ! Sam: Those were the stories that stayed with you. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something. Frodo: What are we holding on to, Sam? Sam: That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.
>831 >That's what they used to call me. Gandalf the Grey. That was my name. で、今は >I am Gandalf the White.
Theoden: Why should I welcome you, Gandalf - Stormcrow? Grima: [In Theoden's ear]: A just question, my liege. [Loudly, so all can hear]: Late is the hour in which this conjurer chooses to appear. Lathspell spell I name him. Ill news is an ill guest. Gandalf: Silence! Keep your forked tongue behind your teeth. I have not passed through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a witless worm!
