>>55 >That's too far to think about now.
そこで、in the future を付加して、 That's too far in the future 「はるかに離れているよ / 未来方向にね」としたいわけです。
When you are in a warm room listening to a boring lecture, it is very hard not to (1) a yawn. And when you see someone else yawning, it is hard (2) yourself from yawning too. Many people think that we yawn to keep ourselves awake. Yawning allows us to get more oxygen into the blood and makes us more active. But the truth of the matter is that scientists do not know why we yawn. People tend to yawn if theyare tiredor bored. This (3) people to think that yawning must have something to do with trying to say awake or lively. Also, when we yawn we take in a lot of oxygen. This has made people believe thatoxygen was important for staying (4). Thus, people thought that by yawning we can put oxygen in the blood to wake us up. But there has not been proof that this is correct. Yawning does not seem to help oxygen go into the blood. There seems to be no reason for our yawning. で、something の部分が先行詞になって、例えば all に変わると、 all that I have Δ to say 「イイタイコトすべて」 となるのです。 what I have to say

Ex. After he got up about at five, he washed his face, and fixed the table. Then he went out for school.
At the time many people bought the book which Newton had witten. より At the time many people bought the book which Newton wrote .
In a cave, the research group found the book which Christian wrote in B.C. より In a cave, the research group found the book which Christian had witten in B.C.
I know where she lives. I know helped Mr.Tanaka.
OK。 I know where she lives.
I know who helped Mr.Tanaka.
Where did the accident happen yesterday? I don't know where the accident happened yesterday.
>>335 At the time many people bought the book which Newton wrote .

Scientists have found a way to make human cells live longer. They say this discovery could be important in treating cancer and other diseases. Cells are the small, basic structures of all living things. To reproduce, they divide again and again. At some point, however, old cells stop dividing and die. Now,researchers in the United States say they have discovered a way to keep cells young by continuing to devide. Most cells have a nuceus, which holds the genes for an organism. When cells divide, the new ones get a copy of this genetic information. Genes rest along hair-like chromosome. At each end of a chromosome is a structure of genetic material called a telomere. The new research shows that telomeres control the aging of a cell. Each time a cell divides, the telomeres get shorter and shorter. In laboratory experiments, the researchers prevented this from happening in human cels. So the cells continued to devide much longer than normal. The scientists took a gene from cancer cells and put it into normal human cells. The gene produces an enzyme called telomerase. Telomerase extends the life of cells by preventing the ends of the chromosomes from getting shorter eachi time cell divides. Normal cells in our bodies shut off this enzyme. In cancer cells, however,it continues to work. Cancer is an example of uncontrolled cell division. Scientists at the University of Taxas Southeastern Medical Center in Dallas were involved in the research. so were scientists at the Geron company in MenloPark,California. They published their findings in New York wrote a related report. She said finding a way to suppress the telomerase could fight cancer groth. The scientists who did the main research say their work could lead to ways to fight a number of diseases, including disorders related to aging. It may be possible to remove damaged cells from a patient, repair them with the enzyme and then return them to the body. Other researchers, however, say that making cell live longer may not necessarily make people live longer. They say that removing the natural limits on cell devision might increase the risk of cancer.

Disney's others great virtue was the fact his company ―― unlike other big corporations ―― had a human face. His Hollywood studio ―― the public heard ―― operated just like a democracy, where everyone was on first-name terms and had a say in how things should be run.
○ be on (good) terms with ...
New technology could make it easier to collect money from passengers on underground trains. An American company is developing a machine to identify train passengers by loolong into their eyes. The machine inspects the part of the eye called the iris. Each iris has a different plan,or pattern,of small lines. The new system idetifies passengers through an iris inspection with a special camera. This process is called an iris scan. Michael Sachs designed the new system for a company in the American state of New Jersey. Mr,Sachs says no two irises are alike. To use the system,a train passenger first must provide enough money to pay for one or more train rides. The system then reduces the amount of money each time that person rides the train. passengers simpky look into a machine before they enter a train. Once the machine identifies the iris, the reading is then compared with other passengers whose iris patterns are listed in the system. Passengers would not need money or a special entry document each time they ride the train. Identifying people by iris patterns already is used in some security systems. And it now is being developed to identify people who use bank money machines. Mr.Sachs says an iris scanning system is faster than a system that identifies people through marksmade by fingerprints. Iris scanning machines will soon be used by public transportation system in the cities of Washington,New York,Philadelphia,Boston, and San Francisco.
In the house stood a man. (← a man が新情報) この英文のin the house を there に置き換えて、in the house を後ろに置くと、 There stood a man in the house.
There stood a man in the house.

We wll go out if he will come here on time. Tell me when she will come back.
I don't know when he will come.
If it will be rain,I will not start.
It doesn't matter whether he comes or not.
Do you see much of him?(彼にはよく会うの?) I see nothing of him.(彼にはぜんぜん会わない) とか Your remarks have little to do with the subject.

>493 I'll study if it will rain tomorrow. I'll study if it rains tomorrow.
>>497 > I'll study if it will rain tomorrow.
(1) If you will help me, I'll soon finish. (2) If you will eat so much, you can't complain if you get fat. (3) If it will make you happier, I'll stop smoking.
I'll study if it will rain tomorrow.

If it will make you happier, I'll stop smoking. (Michael Swan) If it will make you happier, I'll stop smoking. 2. If you will come this way, the headmaster will see you now. 3. (Quirk et al.) If you won't arrive before six, I can't meet you. *****************************************
If it will/it’ll make you happy約1600例 と結構使われています。
Quirk et alの A Grammar of Contemporary Englishにも採用されていないようです。
She told that she goes to bed at ten p.m.. My teacher told that the earth goes around the sun.
>>540 Most of the Japanese とやるのが普通で、Most of Japanese は僕自身は見たことがない。 さらに、 1°Most students ...
Ex. He is to blame ( for ...). Ex. He is to be blamed ( for ... ) . Ex. Not a soul was to be seen in the desert. This book is to read. Ex.This book is good to read. なお、be 形容詞 to ... He is (right) to blame.

>>570 or 578 or 602 than ... can... Ex.1 This is more than I can bear. Ex.2 Sometimes you've got to bite off more than you can chew. It could be worse, today!
DUO3.0の39番目の例文 One cannot emphasize too much the potential danger of nuclear energy.
than is possible without … = 「…

If his was indeed a death by suicide, the implications were all the more troubling, for Levi's violent end would necessarily raise once again the awful possibility that the Nazi crimes could continue to claim victims decades after Nazism itself had been defeated.
Tom is as old as Jim. Tom is as old as Jim.
結局、この場合は631さんの延長で、 as hard (as I usually did ) と考えて問題ないと思いますが。
He often buys many books which he cannot read. He often buys more books than he can read. He seldom buys more books than he ... He (often) buys less books than he ...
than is possible without … = 「…

They had to go to another restaurant to eat.
Give me something to write with.は、 Give me something to write about.
*There are rules to play this game. (*は、だめな文を表します) =There are rules according to which this game must be played.
>>902さん too . . The tank was too small for Willy to live happily.
Manulo will be moving into the room 6 tank to live with Dan and Dave and Javier will move in to the room 4 tank with Mitch.
We've already proven no place is too far away to live. The little babe was too small to live.
The tank was too small for Willy to live happily. He went to the park to play baseball.

>>958 what A is (all) aboutという構文で覚えるとよろし。 A is (all) about whatとなり、「Aはwhatの周りにある」ということ から、「whatはAの中心である」と意訳して(図を書いたら分かりやすいは ず)、だからwhat A is (all) aboutは、「Aの中心、(本質)となるもの」 と言う意味になるはず。
The stifling heat, the cabin reverberating with engine noise, the almost superhuman level of concentration, and the continuous gear changies demanded more from him than anyone had a right to expect.
>>974さん thanは、have a rightではなくexpectにかかりますから、 「だれも...
I had more fights with her than (I think) [I had with anybody else].
than anyone (had a right) [to expect that they would demand] したがって、次のように訳せるのではないでしょうか。
I had more fights with her than I had thought.
1.The Japanese are thought to be polite peoples. 2.The Japanese is thought to be a polite people. 3.The Japanese are thought to be a polite people. 4.The Japanese is thought to be polite peoples.
