Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And Let's pray for the rehabilitation of the Internet-addicted housewife.
Hey jew. Please forgive me. I will apologize to you as much as you like. I am down on my knews and pray for your grace. I rub my forehead against the floor again and again. How far should I be agonized untill you are satisfied. You must be getting enough money already. Do you want more money? That means death penalty to me.
Would anyone like to chat on Skype with a friend of mine and I? We are both native English speakers. If you would like to talk to us on Skype we'll be on for the next 2 hours just respond to this post!
Africa is steadily improving on its own feet. Mugabe and Sudanese president are the hopes for Black race. They are just clashing with Jewish interests. Resources of Africa is for africans. It doesn't matter what technologies others have. Africans have the right to earn huge money from their natural resources by making others work. Just like jews make money by doing nothing.
>>17 I don't like him. Because, even though I use 2ch, I think it would be good if 2ch deminished. He should quit running this mega board in my opinion. But even if he quit, no doubt another people would start the same kind of message boards. but the population of 2channelers would be devided into some message boards so it's better than 2ch having dominent online population. I don't think it's good 2ch continue to be a place of verbal abuses and worthless posts.
2ch is faced with lots of lawsuites because some people file a lawsuits about posts left on 2ch and hiroyuki himself, who won't delete these posts. He lost some lawsuites but he haven't paid even a bit of money.
I use 2ch because I'm Neet and there's nothing much to do other than 2ch browsing. But as I said above, 2ch isn't my lifline. I wouldn't be in trouble even if 2ch diminished. I would find other things to do. I use 2ch just to kill time.
If 2ch didn't exist, I would read more websites/blogs written in English. The biggest reason I use Internet is to study English. So if 2ch stopped to exist, I would spend more time reading websites or blogs written in English and my English would get better at higher speed. Turn of my PC and readinga book would be a good idea.
991 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2008/07/16(水) 12:22:50 I don't have much time. oh well... internet is not useful when I do some research. so I often go to the library. Reading is better to get the real useful information.
I just watched the weirdest anime on TV. It's about a western style pastry shop run by a guy from a rich family and two other guy staffers. There's an obviously gay employee and another man who came to look after the owner, and they seem to have fallen for each other. Anyway, the funniest part is, they do stuff like going in circles hand in hand in the rain like little girls and then going like "What the fuck am I doing in the rain when I'm over 30?" I don't usually watch anime, but this gay comedy was pretty hilarious.
It's raining here, as usual, and is supposed to be around 16 degrees Celsius. I enjoy being out in the rain. Instead, I'll be in a hot office having to meet five minute deadlines on completing brochures for accountancy firms and British Aeronautics.
I'll happily swap jobs with any NEETs.
>>44 That's the worst kind of weather. It feels so uncomfortable. I'd rather be too cold than too hot.
>>49 Neets don't have futures. At a glance Neets have lots of time and they can do whatever they want whenever they like but that is based on their futures being sucrificed. Believe what a real Neet says.
Successfuly changed jobs? >completing brochures for.... Doesn7t sound like a web design. Desk Top Publishing or something like that? Anyway, hang in there.
This is what I discussed popular Mangas of Japan. It contains "Freckle" by Shouta Kikuchi and "Saiyu-Yoen-Den" by Daijiro Moroboshi and "Maiya"by Makoto Ito ... etc.
>>57=>>9? You must have found Cool Tak video through favorite links of a noriaki video, right? I was also the one. At that time I watched for a while and felt disgusted and stopped the video. I assumed the video was just another Zeebra type rap made by a narcissistic japanese. I was wrong. I made a mistake. Cool Tak knows what he is.
>>65 I know the word. And Am I. I felt your response was directed at me. lol Delusion of persecution, paranoid is one of 中二病? I've been like that all through my life although I'm way older than 中二.
To me, it looks like they're just singing to a corny 90's song. 中二病 happens when you depreciate others, emphasize your differences from them and magnify the superiority of yourself, based on nothing really. That's what I thought it was.
>>52 Why don't you use wacom pen tablet or whatever to show your real drawing talent? I want to see your real work. You draw a picture with a mouse on windows bitmap or something like that? it must be too clumsy.
I underestimated 金玉儿. He is real. He is real pervert. He is not acting to be different from others. It's 中二病. He is very unique and sensitive. His idea is nothing I can came up with.
>>51 It's a mixture of different roles. One morning, I might be putting brochures together, then in the afternoon, perhaps making a site. Today's main task was putting together a site for the Financial Advice Bureau.
Time is a luxury. That's why some of us are a bit envious of NEETs, because they have so much of something that we don't.
My dad is over 50 but he seems to be one of the 中二病. He believes he is special and truly a clean person and always wants to exaggerate the difference of his from others. He likes to talk about the mystery of earth, history etc but not good at living. He believes that he is the special spiecies and says almost 90% human in this world is damb. So he has no friends and people hate him but he likes that situation.
There are many 中二病adults everywhere. Especially on 2channel. There are some "English Experts" on this board. They believe the theory is the most important thing in learning English but don't know how to communicate with foreigners. w
English is just the tool but the experts think too much and afraid to make a small mistake. so they become so nervous to speak with native English speakers.
>>91 You see the skin-head man rapping in the video. He's an actor alothough he acts like an rapper in it. He's doing just lip-sync.
Do you know who he is? He is the son of マイク真木, named 真木蔵人
マイク真木is famous for his hit tune, "薔薇が咲いた" He sometimes in a drama as an actor. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=-N38Q4mx0Rk&feature=related You see the long gray haired man on the left in the vodeo above. Also in the video is Ryokio Hirosue, イギリス人 is a big fan of.
Zeebra and 真木蔵人 are DQN friends so maybe Zeebra asked him to appear in his PV or something like that.
Zeebra is spoiled, too. Even if he pretends to be a success from street like Black rappers, actually he is from a very wealthy family. His grand father was a owner of ホテルニュージャパン。 Zeebra was a student of Keio elementary school and junior high. He was such a DQN student that he dropped out of the school.
>>94 Oh, I watched the PV again. Maybe it's not lip sync. Maki DQN Kuroudo seems to be rapping himself but the song itself is Zeebra's.
I googled and found out that AKTION means Zeebra himself. So, in "AKTION - Still Neva Enuff feat. ZEEBRA" Zeebra uses the different name(=AKITON) Zeebra features himself in the video. I wonder why. I don't understand what DQN like him does.
Hirosue must have flirted with DQNS like maki kurodo in her teen. Wait. Actually More DQN than maki. Her ex-husband has been associated with infamous outlaws, one of whom was killed recently.

>>105 sexual preference is [ how all people are different from on another ]. I can love men or women. Actually Jesus ever never is said [ to be speaking against homosexual ]. A lot of gays are truly good people, serious about life, society. 1 in ten is potencial of homosexual is said in the 100 person world village.
>>106 Okay, so Jesus never said that. I was just checking anyway. I think you're right about sexual preference, and homosexual tendency is something gradual, nothing dualistic like homo or straight. But as for me, I'm 100% straight, because I know what I want when it comes to sex.

Does anyone know a good PS2 or DS game that uses furigana? I tried playing some Japanese games to learn while having fun, but if I can't pronounce the kanji and the game doesn' tell me how, I'm not learning as much as I could be.
>>111 You are the faggot who is writing a report about 2ch. You don't even thank me for writing the long answer. Ask your mom what you should do when someone is nice to you. Go back to your mom's stinky womb and start your life from scratch.

>>113 I did thank you, lol. No hard feelings, friend-buddy.
>>118 "glitches", the plural of glitch, or possibly a form of the verb, "to glitch", which simply means, "to cause a glitch in" The word "glitch" is often used when talking about a program. example: The calculator had a glitch in the programming that caused all 7s to be replaced with 8s.
If you don't thank me for this advice, I will freak out and insult you and your mother. ;)
Christianity is a revised Judaism. Jesus hatred of faggot is self-evident. If Jesus didn't say anything about faggot, it means Jesus just accepted Judaism brief about faggot.
If we successfuly eliminated all the faggots, what would the world be? Another faggots wouled be produced from the remaining straight people at one tenth rate(exaggerated rate)? If so, we have to eliminate faggot-gene which lives in human body.
Mr. kato, who did stabbing spree at akihabara was a fan of 東方series. I like shooter games. But All that I've played was arcade games or softwares of video game console. I've never played amateur computer games. I think shoter games by CAVE(successor of 東亜PLAN) are more sophisticated and perfect than 東方's. CAVE is the origin of barrage shooter game.

hello english-speaking folks anyone here knows if there's special name for 0800 number in UK, like "free-dial" for 0120 in Japan and "toll-free" for 800 in US? sorry for this "KY" question anticipating your kind answer
It's ok, it's a Japanese word I think, wikipedia says it translates to 'bullet hell', but 'bullet curtain' is more widely used. Imagine a game like 'space invaders', it is like that but more advanced, basically.
>>155 I can't imagine a game in which those cute girls shoot rifles or guns randomely. Can't see no connections between barrage of bullets and those girls.

But 片岡数吉, do you not think it is possible for people to both enjoy video games and spend time on productive tasks too? The stoic phrase 'everything in moderation' is a universal truism.
Some people lack confidence with women. It is not their fault, it is like a curse to lack confidence with women. Who knows, maybe I will die alone, I am 20 and have never had a girlfriend.

JoJo speaks good Spanish as long as I listened to the song.

suukichi's English is not good either. His English skill does not compare to his pride. He is a typical delusional English learner. He sticks to 中高生 thread just to make sure that his English skill is better than average "japanese" and that there are people who cannot speak English. He is doing not for you but for him. Pathetic guy.
>>239 You have no right to criticize him. Kazuyoshi 片岡先生
is a great teacher who has been posting 2channel to give his special method of learning Enlish to Japanese. Even you don't want to evaluate him as a No1 English speaker, he's been working as an English teacher for a long time and he has some kind of pride, of course. Who doesn't have a pride to be engaged in striving students better in Japan. He has pride for his profession. of course. Do you have a job? How long have been doing that? After you have achieved certain level and still, you'd look down on somebody's effort, you must be nothing.
Hi. May I join? I am a Japanese and I am studing English. English is difficult. I am studing English 10 years more. I like English because I like forein. I want travel to many countryes. America especialy. I am 42 years old woman. I like speak English with forein man. Nice to meet you.
It' s really hot in Japan even at night. I don't use AC but use an electric fan mostly. Now my upper body is naked now and I wear shorts. I often walk around my house only wearing underwear.
Hi, I'm watching Curb Your Enthusiasm, and came across something I don't understand. Here's the transcription of that sketch Could somebody help me out? Thanks! ------------------- 1 Larry: Thank you sven! 2 Sven: You're welcome. 3 Larry: Alright. What is that? is that Swedish? Sven? 4 Sven: It's Norwegian. 5 Larry: Ha! I'm sorry I thought... So Sven wasn't a Swedish name. 6 Sven: It's not. (besides?)I don't looks Swedish do we? It's big difference. 7 Larry: Appearently. What's the difference? May I ask.. 8 Sven: Culture, Looks, Name, history, food... 9 Larry: O.K. O.K. Sorry honest mistake. 10 Sven: ... 11 Larry: Are Swedes suchy if you referred them as Norwegian? 12 Sven: Why don't you ask the Swedes? 13 Larry: Yeah, Maybe I will(would?). ------------------- line 11's word "Suchy" is the word I'm wondering about is there such word like "suchy"? or just I heard it wrong? I couldn't find it on the internet or dictionary. I got the meaning of the line but the word bugs me..
also if you find any inconsistency or word drop with above transcript please correct me.
>>253 Perhaps it was "touchy". If you're touchy about something, you're more likely to become irritated by it. Just as Canadians are touchy about being mistaken for Americans, so Swedes might be about being called Norwegians.
>>262 Ah ha, thanks - was looking for that before posting >>256 just to see for myself what was going on.
Just a couple very minor points: 5 Larry: ... So Sven was a Swedish name. 6 Sven: ... (So) I don't look Swedish, do I? It's a big difference. (took a few goes to catch the "So") 13 Larry: Yeah, maybe I will. (you got this one - no 'would')
I can see why the 'touchy' bit got you, though. It did sound a lot like 'suchy'.
Do you come from a land down under? Where women glow and men plunder? Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.

>>295 Yes! Us felines only wish to work together to build a mighty nation. We are not corrupted by any religion. Our only goal is to become strong and crush DPRK. And become a nyanko-meshi superpower.
Some white nationalists like China because they are on a par with the jews in terms of greediness, shrewdness, presumptuousness and cruelity. Chinese won't shirink when the jews accuse chinese of human right issue or atrocities in autonomous regions (occupied areas). White nationalist hope chinese will diminish jewish power and they want to learn from chinese impudence.
But white nationalist look over this point : the jews and chinese go hand in hand beyond the reach or our eye.
I am a black person and I am getting SICK of the racism on this thread. You should respect me, if you don't respect me I will leave. Especially Japanese guy who encourages white nationalists. Ancient Japanese people and Samurai were black. My ancestors built the pyramids too! We blacks have a lot to be proud of, and we are well behaved in Japan.
No. This is a land of udon. I am a man who came from the land of udon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have two sons, one of whom is mentally-challenged. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=1QQMwkHDE9M
retarded Just like your iucumbent president!!!!!!!!!
But When China really stands up to the jews, I think the jews won't cooperate with chinese propaganda any more. Rather the jews would put the label of nazi on china in place of Japan.
>>320 Most definately. I think the main plan of the Jews is to start civil war in China. And then extend that into a regional war between Han Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese and so on.
After this war is over. USA will be able to make smaller countries out of East Asia and plant bases everywhere to extend Jewish influence to the far east. East Asia will never recover from these wars and thus Jewish run America remains the sole superpower.
Should I keep posting or will I get banned if I speak about these things?
You are safe. 2ch administrator can't ban freedom of speech except personal information issue. Are you from Canada? I heard Canada is becoming police state.
In most of the countries it should be OK to just criticise Jew. But denying holocaust is another issue. If you are american, it must be ok to deny holodcaust. I don't know whether mossad keeps watching this thread and you are under its surveillance though.
I'm not on good terms with german internet environment. I guess german can't create the site which deny holocaust while many german are throwing doubts on holocaust on messages boards overseas. German police can't censor internet?
>>326 A puppet of the jew is not necessarily the jew. Is jew-hating-native speaker a fan of Jared Taylor? His antisemetism is progressing dramatically!!! I wonder what enlighted him.
Yes I heard that Jared Taylor is gradually understanding that Jews are the ones responsible for controlling the immigration to america and black crime and so on. It's very good, I am a big fan of his.
>>339 Out of those two, the first one is correct. Since you've already changed your mind, you have to use the past tense form "had". Personally, if I had just changed my mind, I would say "I did believe you before, but now I've changed my mind." or something like that. The reason I would use "did" is to emphasize the fact that I really did believe this person at one point in time.
>>345 TV was on when it was held but I didn't pay much attention to it.
Some people like watching an opening ceremonty of Olympic Games but I'm not the kind of guy. I agree that it is artistic and for some people interesting to watch because each opening ceremoney reflects cultures of a hosting country.
I'm not an artistic person so all I'm interested in is each matches, games. I don't like sports where players are judged by artistic factors such as figure skating and Syncronized swimming because scores they get are largely influenced by judges subjectivity.
What I goes like hmmmm about is that people suddenly starts to cheer for minor sports such as judo, amateur wrestling gymnasticds when it comes to the Olympics when the events of those sports are almost ignored usually.
In opening ceremony thousands of kanfu dancers in a circle moved simultaneously. It's a bit gross reminiscent of Nazi. But they moved slightly apart. There was a little time lag. I think DPRK is a true successor and improver of nazi. DPRK is more sophiscated totalitarian state.
DPRK > Soviet Union > PRC > nazi=israel Ranking of totalitarian states
Israel team didn't get big applause they used to get in olympic games held in western countries. Among others, olympic games in the USA is worst. Israel gets ear-piercing scream. Is it the evidence that the USA is ZOG? I can imagine the same or the worse will happen in London, bastion of zionist.
Chinese spectators are cold to Israel. Is it the evidence that China is not ruled by the jewish world order?
Hmmm, we shall see what happens in London. I don't think Israel will get much cheers to be honest. Also, yes, Israel was coldly recieved in China.
I think the world opinion in general is turning against Israel and ZOG is a bit worried.
Americans still love Israel though.
Personally I liked the Chinese Characters part of the ceremony, to illustrate the typing press. The Countdown was amazing too. On a purely artistic level, the ceremony was very beautiful, perhaps the greatest ever. It was conducted by the same person who did the film 'House of Flying Daggers' which I liked.
Would it be tolerable when good-looking kaneshiro dated with white girl? Tiger Woods picked up a blonde girl by power of money. It must be disgusting for many white male.
Judo athlete Ryoko Tani lost in the semi-finals and won bronze medal. She aimed to get three consecutive gold medals and lost. Tani is as famous as ichiro here in Japan. How famous is tani abroad?
And don't mention her face. Japanese think she is not cute at the bottom of their heart. Her nickname yawarachan came from the name of the judo comic, yawara. Yawara is the nickname of the protagonist. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=kAmMSDlXtv4 http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=EvecD-VCTTk They are as like as two peas in a pod. Tani imitates a pigtail of yawara. Believeing is strong.
How famous is Brendan Hansen, breast stroke swimmer in the USA? He was ex-world record holder of 100m and 200m in breast stroke. But he was defeated by kitajima in two consecutive olympic games. Kitajima broke hansen's world record in the final of 100m breast stroke.
Would you please make a thread where we Japanese can ask questions to native English speakers? I tried but my ISP is denied making a thread somehow. The previous thread disappeared for some reason even when it didn't reach 1000. Posts there reached over 980 though.
----Below is a template of the thread------
Title: Hey Native speakers! Come and help us! Part 4
If you are a native speaker of English, please help us with those questions that we are losing sleep over.
So now that the thread disappeared, I'll ask a quesdtion here.
Let's say you invite two friends to your cottage in a resort. You decided to take a picture in one of the rooms, welcoming them. You'll write a welcome message on a paper and have the friends sit behind it and you take a photo of them.
Does it sound natural if the message is " Dear A and B. Welcome to my cottage." I'm not sure if "Dear" is right to use in this context. I know it's used when you write a letter to someone but what about the situation like this?
Is it better and natural to write, "To A and B" instead of "Dear A and B?" Or are there other good alternatives?
Yeah they are pretty different, though it's hard to explain the difference. The 1st video was it. They are emos. Dark hair(asian lol), black eyeliner and emo songs. I'm heading to Osaka tomoro so hopefully i can see some emos.
Self mutilation + above things make ppl emos. Goth and lolita have different styles. >>382
Lol. It reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite somehow rather than emo songs. Hope he will be as cool as he thinks he is... Lol.
>>383 The Japanese man in >>382 is just being sarcastic about Japanese "serious" rappers who think themselves cool when in fact they are just imitaitng Black rappers.
Wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying when i was watching it. I just thought he was another wankish japanese rapper. If you are right (I just cant be bothered digging him, no offense to you), that is sweet!
He's saying "J-rappers" suck right? well i totally agree. But I don't want him posting that kinda stuff everywhere on the net. It's Youtube. More Americans watch even the Japanese posted videos more than the japanese viewers. They can't understand a single word, so they just automatically label it as a "crazy chink" trying to be cool
He's not saying such a thing in the lyrics. He knows his looks is bad and he looks terrible and with that in mind, he degrades Japanese rappers. The intention is even if serious Japanese rappers try to be cool like black rappers, they aren't very different from him seen in the video.
He's not a rapper. He's more of an entertainer. He is said to compose songs but behind the whole project to sell him in Japanese music or entertainment industry, there's brain behind him.

the intelligence quotient of the white is 115 the intelligence quotient of the yellow is 110(japanese is 118) the intelligence quotient of the black is 90
Nobel laureate Dr.Watson didn't way whites were superior. He only said Black were inferior to Whites. Dr.Jared Taylor said Whites were superior to Blacks. But he didn't say whites are supreme either. Jared Taylor even admits Asians are superior to Black. After all They say Blacks are the lowest.

tomorrow I have my first English lesson. i have never spoken with an english native speaker. my teacher is American. I'm very nervous. I don't know what to speak with him.
I think japanese hamburger shop won't hire such a loser who wears tattoo on his arms. First of all His hair style is unacceptable. Manager would order him to change his hair style even if he should be hired. He wears black hairliner around his eyes asymmetrically and his eyebrows are asymmetrical too. Is it emo? You can't find on the video but I saw his another eybrow with cutline on TV
>He is an african american. Not african. Make sure. Yep, American here.
>Can you explain why African carry washtub on the head? For the same reason that people in poorer Asian countries use things like that. (Southeast Asia espcially, like Cambodia.)
>>447 I think it's so rude of you to say African Americans are not as smart as other race. African food is much better than Anglo-Saxon's food. That's one of the great elements to prove their sensitivities are supperior than whites. As same as the sensitivities, their brain must be good or better than other races.
Just to speak in genral, white people look cooler especially when Japanese go study abroad for the first time. But as we get to know more about them, they are just relaxed normal people who are nothing better than us. Also black people seem a bit different, so we hesitate to talk, but after knowing them, at least, I thought they were really thoughtful and kind. So if you knew nothing about race, you have no right to criticize them. or should I say, if you were lucky, you had a chance to meet a nice xx race and if you had a bad luck, you had a chance to meet a bad xx race, and probably it would stay in your mind forever. and tell people around you that xx race is terrible!! but you are actually only talking about one or two people that you know.
So, as my father said, we alway should behave good. especially when we encounter foreigners. If you behaved bad to one foreigner, he/s would generalize the image of you, with the bad image or your race as "xx jin is bad", not you, personally.
Oh that's true. I have a terrible image of Chinese and Vietnamese becuse of one horrible matter. I don't have to hate all the Chinese and Vietnamese, but whenever I hear the words, Chinese or Viet, I feel a cold chill. That's a bad imprintings. I hope to meet an angels who are either a Chinese or a Vietnamese in the future....
>>that pretty much applies to everything in life, not just different races. everything we do is made of stereotyping and generalizing when we don't know the first thing about anything but our own culture
>>455 Yes, indeed. Even the food we eat for the first time, my bro hates tomato for no reason. He experienced it with a pretty bad way. There is no explanations but there is beyond to repair. Mother is probably the one who makes it up. But imprintings are really strong mentally.

What is the area of triangle whose sides are sqrt(61), sqrt(153), sqrt(388)
You get partial credit for solving it with Heron's Formula, and full (or even extra) credit for using the following hint: each of the numbers 61, 153, and 388 is the product of a square and one or more primes of the form 4k+1.

On the issue of racism, I do not think that African-Americans are less intelligent than whites or Asians, or any other race. However, I believe it is the violent, "gangster" culture of many African-Americans that has given them a bad name. I am white, but I do not have many racist friends.
>I am white, but I do not have many racist friends.
Really? I would say deep down you and they have discrimination against African Americans. What if your siblings especially your female siblings announced you that she'll get married with African American? How would you feel if you see a black man are dating with a beautiful white woman?
If you feel disgusted with the ideas even a little bit, then that's a proof that you have discrimination against them.
I don't know well about African-American, but I think it is a mistake to say they are idiot just because they are black.
This is because I know very intelligent black people, such as “Condoleezza Rice”. I hear that her IQ is about 180. This is a good example which indicates >>411 is incorrect, isn't it ?
>499 Rice's IQ doesn't prove that all blacks are intelligent. But, if the data is correct, one possible reason is that many Africans (regardless of their colors) don't take enough education they need due to poverty or underdevelopment.
>If you feel disgusted with the ideas even a little bit, then that's a proof that you have discrimination against them.
Your definition of "discrimination" is totally wrong. Just thinking is not a discrimination, because we are all free to think anything about anything. Discrimination is an ACTION of expressing apathy in an obvious way.
All this talk about race makes me yawn. I shall now proceed to steer the discussion towards subjects that are more interesting.
Do you read English-language novels? If so, what authors and titles? I've found that reading fine literature is the best way to get into a language, apart from actually spending time abroad. I myself have been reading mostly fantasy and scifi - I'm a huge nerd - but now I'm thinking of broadening my field towards classic authors such as Jane Austin and the Brontë sisters.
Ive been reading Haruki Murakami lately. Ive never read his stuff in Jap but they are pretty swt. I like Kafka on the Shore (not too sure about the title) best. I dont think they are too hard to read either.
>>512 I read the novel, too. I was able to follow the storyline but I don't think I understood the details of it. It's good to read a book in English to improve your English but if you really want to understand the details of it, it's better to read it in your mother tongue.
It's good to read translated books such as Murakami's in English in terms of improving your reading skills but I can't help but asking myself why bother reading translated books when one of the ponits in learning foreign languages is to understand different cultures through a foreign language.
It's only when you read books in a foreign language written by writers overseas that you can expose yourself to different cultures through the book.
Yeah fair enough. Reading can really help you understand other cultures. But for me, reading isnt really my cup of tea so, I have to like the books im reading. Otherwise I wont finish them you know.
Ive tried other authors like Nick Hornby (that guy who wrote About a Boy, which was made into a movie a while ago.). But I just liked Murakamis style better. Its pretty beautiful.
So yeah its just that I like his stuff. and reading is just for fun for me.
if you really want to understand the details of it, it's better to read it in your mother tongue.
It depends on your English skills, doesn't it? Also, since translations include more or less the translaters' interpretations, it could be that the impressions of an original and the translation are quite different.
Anglo-Saxon's foods are worst in Europe. But they invented many things. It's meaningless to surpass Anglo-Saxon only in foods. Anglo-Saxon's foods are not representative food in Europe.
Historically, black people have been put in disadvantageous position in society. For example, in United States few decades ago, they were prohibited to vote if they didn't pay enough tax or if they couldn't READ.
It was really effective because at that time most of them were from SLAVERY. Even now in U.S., black people tend to be less rich and educated than white, like other immigrants.
However, it was black people who made rock'n'roll, like Chuck Berry, and Hip Hop, Jazz. Eminem or Elvis just copied their culture and arranged it.
One thing is for sure: black people are not neccessarily inferior.
Maybe it's too usual and ordinary, but I read through Harry Potter and Deathly Hallow twice before its Japanese edition came out. It's a good book to start with! Give it a try, guys! Actually, I almost cried even in English.
>>526 Sorry about that. Umm, something special? No idea... I just wanted to say that the situation of black people has been controlled to make a favorable situation for white people historically, structurally, and even globally. Take a look at the way the world is. They have been exploited since the age of Geographical Discovery, which we should call "the beginning of global exploitation" or something like that.
>>528 I understand. As is almost all of the movies based on a novel or story, it's really cut short into the frame of two or two and a half hours. Moreover, the movie was just a beginning of the seven books. It may be a bit hard to get absorbed into the world. If you don't like fantasy, it's gonna be waste of time.
And what made you think I am a woman(^^)? It made me feel curious, actually. I am a man.
>>529 Yeah yeah yeah, that's right. Well, the world is still mainly controlled by Western countries, EU, US, and Russia. After the WWII, our country has been made great efforts to catch up world powers and it is to some extent accomplished (I think so).
But! Recently I'm worrying about whether current Japan's position wouldn't be lost in the future, because of China's progress, the lack of natural resources, America's decline, Russia's revival, and so on.
If you were the Japanese president, what would you do ? How do you think can we break the gap between whites and colored people ? Would you be on the side of US ? China ?
Ah,,,and the reason why I thought you were a lady is,,, nothing special. But it was a little bit difficult for me to imagine a mature man was crying reading the Harry Potter...^^; (Don't get me wrong please, I'm no offense) (I know my English is very wierd or awkward, don't care much about it ^^)
Why do you call yourself a slave? Get over your asian insecurities. Not every white person will hate you lol. Get a qualification and get a proper job overseas.
>>534 I agree with you. The white people around me are incredibly nice and friendly. (I'm living in CA now.)
But think for a moment. Who would pay good money to the people who speak one of the uniquest language? I mean, most of us cannot speak another language and how can we get a nice job in foreign country? For example, I've never seen a white gardener around here, they are mainly Mexican immigrants (Spanish speaker, I guess),having no choice but to work for low wages.
Frankly, do you wanna pay immigrants well? Anyway, time for bed. Have a good night, guys.
If you dont have any skills (including being able to speak English in English speaking countries.), people will try to take advantage of you. Thats how it is. There are factory workers and seamstresses who only get less than $5 an hour just because they cant speak English and have no qualification in Australia. I mean $5. In a developed country. Thats fucked. But they are usually stuck. Its not easy to escape from porverty trap.
So thats what I meant by get a qualification. And adequate English. doesnt have to be perfect but adequate. So that your employer will consider you as a good invetment. I mean there are so many immigrants in Australia. And most of them manage to get by you kow.
>>538 Just an observation. I've noticed a lot of people coming from New Zealand for work and then complain about how shit Australia is. While I do realise that Australia isn't perfect but that stuff really cheeses me off.
I know that not all of them are like this, but to me it looks like the majority of them feel this way.
These guys are just retards imo. I hate people like these who complain about the situation that they put themselves in in the 1st place. Take responsibilty for your life! Your lucky if you can still make choice like this.
Why dont they just bugger off if they dont like it?
Yeah and I like Australia's imperfectness rather than Japan's fake perfectness. So much shit is going on all the time but at least ppl there realise it.
I'm Japanese and it is said that Japanese people are modest. That idea is, however, completely wrong. Most of them are selfish as other ethnic group. That's why million of stray cats and dogs are killed in health center every year. Japanese people are good at hiding their true nature.
>That's why million of stray cats and dogs are killed in health center every year.
That's another story, isn't it??? It's nothing to do with races. The same things happen everywhere. The US won't tell anything about aliens that they have already made contact with. Koreans wanna cook up a false history about Japan, etc... Japan is a good country to live in.
In general, you can only judge large groups of people because of the differences in culture, since people themselves are all different and any kind of person can be found anywhere on earth... What is normal or polite in one country is unusual or maybe even rude in another (I've heard that clapping in one country can be an insult even), leading to people thinking too fondly or too badly of people in/from other countries...
>>551 If black people had encountered the favourable circumstances to develop quickly rather than white people it would have resulted in this discussion taking place the exact reverse...
Also, yesm hip-hop, R&B and Jazz are but footnotes in musical history, but so are pop, rock and all the other tons of 19th/20th/21st century genres, and they've been invented by all but one "race". There's also plenty of intelligent and interesting music to go around in these genres.
Through this discution I realized that a person's IQ or his potential depends not on his race but on his nationality. As someone said, while the average IQ of black people is lower than the others, some blacks have created their original cultures and are superior in some fields like sports.
Don't you think, for example, that Japanese Americans born and raised in America have American characteristics rather than Japanese ones??
I don't like Chinese or Koreans, even if they belong to the same race as Japanese. If anybody here is not from Japan, I don't want you to think that all asians are so nasty, mean and offensive like them.
"If black people had encountered the favourable circumstances to develop quickly."
This is a stupid statement, it claims that environment shapes development but not that environment shapes evolution. Africans are stupid because an abundance of wild animals meant they never had to move beyond a hunter-gatherer society, effectively, natural selection never selected for the things that cause impetus for the development of civilization.
I don't like hip-hop. Worst kind of music. I concede rock'n roll may be an invention of Black. But they don't do it anymore. Why? It's foolish for blacks themselves to admits rock'n roll is a white people's culture. And I suspect rock'n roll is not black invention only. Isn't it collaboration of white and black? Didn't irish folk or something influence rock'n roll?
It's ironice that blacks inveted rocn'n roll under hard circumstance. and richer blacks invented worse kind of music : hip-hop.
>>556 That's not neccessarily true, I suppose. For instance, it is too common for us to have "private property", such as land or house or car or whatever.
But in African countries, the story is a bit different. They don't privatized their land. Instead, they share their land, making it possible for one to use the land for agriculture in the rainy season and for the other to do it for pasturing in the dry season. That was easier and effective way to make a good living, helping each other.
The idea of privatization has a close relationship to capitalism, which resulted in the way the world is, creating a huge gap between the rich and poor, causing the degredation of environment.
"But in African countries, the story is a bit different. They don't privatized their land."
This is patent bullshit and you are quite clearly a delusional liar.
Firstly, most blacks never even cultivated land to begin with. They were largely hunter-gatherers until the Europeans TOLD them how to do it.
Those few that could cultivate land were organized in a system even more primitive than feudal Europe, the Chief owned the majority of the land and those who worked it lived in the village and were apportioned enough to sustain their subsistence.
Stop trying to behave like blacks had some developed notion of 'socialism' and that that was the reason for their overwhelming failure to cultivate the seed.
It's pretty hilarious that most people here that are talking about racial differences have absolutely no idea about what they're talking about, and have no idea why some of the things they say that are actually true, are true.
Keep living your enclosed lives, and keep thinking you are the shit. Let's see how far that takes you.

I heard an interesting news. One woman was in a spotlight because she succeeded to have her dead beloved dog cloned. She got some cloned puppies. She was on headlines with her photos holding one of the puppies but some time later some people found that she was a woman who sexually assaulted her exboyfriend when she was young long time ago. She's British.
Igirisu-jin, is this news talk of your town over in your country?
>>624 From my point of view, I say Yes, but not like capitalist nations. I don't think they place much value on capitalism and Americanized freedom, because it's a huge country. (means less intentions about knowing others) They will create their own sense of value. less diabetes, and more meritocracy.
Tibet was a part of China for 1000 years. Only AFTER the western nations and imperial Japan humiliated China and cut China up was Tibet seperated. Then Chinese put their country together piece by piece once again. Westerners have NO RIGHT to speak on this issue considering what they did to China. Boxer Rebellion, Opium Wars and so on.
When China has massive population growth... You say:
"china wants to flood the world"
When China introduces population controls you say:
"HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE!"
When China is insular and does not allow free trade, you say:
"Chinese is xenophobic!"
When China opens up her markets, you say:
"China is taking away our jobs!"
When China was poor, powerful nations treated them like dogs.
When China builds industry, powerful nations blame them for global warming.
>>622 There's no way that London can live up to the extravagance of the ceremonies of Beijing. As you probably saw, all the UK managed to do was put on a little dance routine with bowler hats, umbrellas, and a red double-decker bus. The London 2012 logo is horrible too, even though it cost something like £400,000 (81 million yen) to come up with. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what we can do to try and impress the rest of the world, but I doubt that we'll end up doing anything spectacular.
And if you saw the handover of the flag, you also saw Boris Johnson, Mayor of London. He's what you expect from someone who went to Eton and graduated from Oxford. He's something of a laughing stock, but also a pretty decent guy.
>>623 To be honest, this is the first I've heard about this. I'd say paying that much to clone a dead pet is stupid. It may look like the pet, but it probably won't have the same personality. May as well just get a dog that looks similar in the first place.
As for her... she must be crazy. Anyone who tries to get close to Mormons rather than away from them has to be mad.
Because they cannot wear the Saitama flag for some political reasons. However, we're all thrilled even though it will not be held in our capital city. It is going to be magnificent without question.
>>633 with bowler hats, umbrellas, and a red double-decker bus. They must be mundane things for you. But they are intimidating enough for for non white chinks and japs.
Which is more prestigious, Oxford or Cambridge? I have an image that Oxford is strong in politics, arts and bureaucracy and Cambrige is strong in science. Smartest boys go to cambridge while boys with power hunger go to oxford?
>>633 I like it when he tackled the man in the video even though they were playing football(soccer). Maybe he played rugby when he went to Eton or something.
He looks kind of humorous. Couldn't catch what they were saying in the latter video but could sense he has a sense of humor.
>>635, >>638 Counties and cities here don't really have their own prominent flags except maybe for Cornwall). If only Saint George's Cross was used, the rest of Britain would certainly be offended (especially the Scots). Not all of Britain's athletes are just from England, so using the Union Jack is a fair representation of our team.
>>640-641 Public schools in Britain are known more for their rugby teams than for football, so perhaps he just had a flashback to his childhood and switched to rugby. Football is seen more as the working man's sport, I guess.
As for the two universities, it's hard to say which is considered more prestigious, though I'd say Oxford by a slight margin. Oxford has topped the university league tables since 2005 now. Apparently, though, it's Cambridge gruaduates who go onto better jobs.
In reality, it's whoever wins the Oxford-Cambridge boat race that year that becomes the most prestigious.

Acording the article, you can watch not only Japanese TV shows but those of foreign countires. Just an idea of privatizing or patenting these stuffs is nonsense. This reminds me of an foolish company that tried to patent Noma-Neko to sell CD for their profit.
>>677 Ah, was a little confused by all the images of top hats until reading the second part of your post. So now I know what to ask for when I meet someone in the street. I have yet to add a top hat or a bowler hat to my collection.
It's interesting to learn that the double decker bus was so much of an English stereotype that you called them ロンドンバス. Never really thought anything unusual about them... apart from being worried if they tip over.
>>687 Thank you very much. However, it's a big let down that Sanrio Puroland isn't there. I'm disappointed now.
>>690 And also thank you!! That application works perfectly, and is smooth and clear (although the image is small, but that's not a problem). Now to browse through it... there's so much to choose from.
>>711 How interesting! Not just one, but two of your words originate from "Gulliver's Travels"! Before today, I was aware of the origin of "lilliputian", but not "brobdingnagian". How interesting! How very interesting!
>>714 The newest version of the software seems to be unstable. I think I saw someone's post saying you shouldn't updated it to the latest version. Actually the lastest software I installed stopped working several times so far.
If I'm not wrong, the green TVU icon whichi is left to the name of a TV show means it can been watched live on your PC and a Windows mediaplayer icon which is left to the name of TV show means it is recorded program. I don't know about other icons.
I set a language in Japanese and all the shows have Windows media player icon to its left now. Yomiuri TV news reports about Bejing Olympics again and again. The same content as yesterday. I only tried for two days but haven't encountered any shows aired with this software and through terrestrial broadcast simultaneously in Japanese.
Which is the fastest way to Nobel prize for musician, marrying an influential jewish woman or feeding negroes? I'm mentiong Cold Play's vocalist and Bono of U2. Cold Play's act may have not been intentional. But Bono's act was aimed at Nobel Prize.
Welcome to the NHK, the main character only talks shit about being a hikki. We never see what he was really like, we only see the recovery process. He even went outside on Sunday nights in the park. Meanwhile, Jun from Rozen Maiden shit bricks everytime he even considered leaving the house. He gets better, but he is more convincing overall.
>>719 After it had warmed up a bit, there was, indeed, much crashing of programme and grinding of teeth. It was somewhat frustrating because favourites are only saved on exit, so if it crashes, you lose all your favourites from that session.
There were some live broadcasts when I checked, such as TBS, Asahi, Fuji and NTV, but the majority seem to be prerecorded. Last night, I settled on Horror Nostalgia and watched 'Trail of the Moon Beast'. It was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Then I had a look at some of the Chinese shopping channels.
>>736 That's why it sucks! That would never happen! It's more realistic, but TOO close to realism, like tightroping across the border. Either be 100% realistic or 100% fantasy, no blending of the two
Can someone tell me where this quote is from? I think it is from a video game that was translated to English. However, because I don't know the exact way it was worded in the English version, I can't find the source.

Get a life dude. Do whatever that makes you happy. Or go to Democratic Convention and cry for Obama. Do you think John would be more or less the same as Geroge? He looks like a conservative right wing fuck imho.

And if you don't have a bike or a car, you can even walk. And if you don't have a camera, you can take mental pictutres of what you think are interesting. Like...girls in mini skirts?? I dunno.
Yeah agreed. China will be the biggest country someday. So if you are that kind of guy who can be fucked learning a language for your career, go for it. But its not easy thats for sure...
Wow, historic torrential rain in tama region, tokyo where I live. Incessant thunder rumbling. Lighting is flashing like camera flash intermittently... This weather is the first time ever in my life. Lightings must have hit some regions considering the sound.

>>769 You won't be able to read English fast as long as you keep analyizing English that way. Get out of the habit of analyzing English or else your reading skill will stay low.
He is an English teacher who don't know English. He doesn't have to be able to speak English. He has only to do his routine job. He has plenty of time to indulge in self-complacency.
How would you react if Battle Royale became a reality? I would wonder why the solution to the juvenile delinquency problem would be to kill off good kids who do go to school while leaving dropouts alone. Wouldn't that encourage more kids to drop out, thereby making the situation worse?
>>783 He is spoiled because he is in the most infuluential talent agency. Popularity of showbiz people is somehow manipulated by TV, talent agency and advertisement agency here in Japan. People are vulnerable to media strategy. BUt his magic didn't work abroad where real talent was required, I guess. I think his acting skill sucks even in Japanese. He is not a pro of anything. He is supposed to be tolerated whaterve he does and people tries to find meanings in his bad acting and his idiotic comments. For me he is just a fool. Bad acting skill. so-so voice. lacks in vocabulary in Japanese. No education. Period. I hate him. I don't wanna see his face on TV.
I like "Welcome to the Black Parade" Is it true that it has been banned in many countries because it makes people commit suicide? I find that hard to believe. It usually takes more than a song to kill someone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5nw1-_5-Vk It sounds like cheap japanese pop. lol Can it be the clue that a vocalist loves japan? I think this song is suitable for anime theme song.
There are the anime fans who proclaim their "otaku" label loudly. They go to every convention, and dress up in costumes even if they haven't got the right body type. If you talk to these people over the internet, you'll often find that they can't spell, and they use things like "lol" a lot. They are almost always fans of Naruto and similar anime and manga.
Then, there are the other anime fans. They almost never go to conventions. They few who do never dress up. They keep quiet. They understand that "otaku" is an insult. They may appear normal, or they may appear introverted. In any case, you'll never find out about their love for anime and manga, no matter how long you talk to them. They watch more serious media.
Out of these two groups, one is a lot louder. You understand, right?
Originally, the word 'otaku' is meant to be an insult or self-deprecating humor, but now people sometimes use it to highlight the speciality or exceptional passion in their work by suffixing it to a word. ex.) He's such an architecture otaku that he's always thinking about his new designs. It can also, of course, be used to describe any type of collector although some refuse to call themselves so.
>>806 No, it's not. Back in the 80's when the term came out, it only had the bad connotation because of their social ineptness and rather socially unacceptable interests, but it's so overused now you can use it without insulting someone.
>>807 It all depends on the hostname suffix. If it ends in .se, then access is denied, but if it ends in .com, it will work. I can post because mine ends in .com, but when I tried to post from my phone a couple days ago, it was denied because it ends in .co.uk (it's just the .uk part it has a problem with).
>>746 I have a feeling that Oshita Yoko might be a little too... mature... for my taste. Can't really say, though, because I can't really find much information.
Are you still making your comics?
(And yes, I know that replying to him might not be the best idea, but it sure beats making an Excel writer in PHP)
Hello. I've got so bored. Is anyone here to chat with me? I'm Japanese, who's been trying to learn English for quite some time. No matter how long I try, I've found it very challenging to express myself. Do you feel the same way?
>>821 No, I'm not angry or anything. I sometimes read this thread too. I feel too intimidated to say anything stupid, but as I said before, I am too bored tonight. That's why I am saying something here...
I don't know. Some ppl are good at making their points, though (not me, unfortunatelly). No matter what language they are using. Also, you need to have a certain amount of vocabulary to make yourself clear (which i don't). But i guess, eventually, at which point one can be satisfied with his/her language skills is entirely up to the indivudual...?
>>824 Yeah, it's entirely up to each individual. It is a very good answer to any question which is vague...isn't it? Anyway from they way you wrote in >>824, I think yours in not as limited as mine. Do you still agree to chat with me?
>>832 Oh, I see. I thought there were only two people at that moment. If you bear with my limited English, let's talk. >>833 I know. The topic is a little out of date. I was just trying to find out a safe topic.
I don't know anything about the London Olympic Games. I mean what it will be like, but today's Asahi said, actually one of the readers' letter said she hopes it's going to be more friendly to handicapped people. She was hoping so because England is a more matured country...
but it is GB. you'd have to come up with something even better.
>>840 Well, when a western girl is not that pretty, it's one popular option to dye their black and look like they are into Asia or goth... so that ppl automatically assume that they not even trying.
>>840 She(he?) is very big and tall, and her behavior is masculine. However, I think she has a point which attracts us a little. By the way, the title “その日のヲタク” is good, isn't it ? In English, “One nerd on the day” maybe.
It doesn't matter, since the world will end on December 21, 2012, anyway All signs point to that date. Research it. The winter solstice will end us all.
Speaking of otaku or nerds, when I was hunging out with my friends in Japanese town in SF, I saw a costume-playing girl dressed up as Orochi-Maru(Naruto). Honestly, I was taken aback.
"be taken aback" means "hiku" in Japanese, useful expression, isn't it?
If only UK had 1.3 billion ppl and no democracy... Then anything can be done.
Otaku are srsly everywhere... Theyve just creeped into the rest of the world and wont be so long till they take over the world... The majority of them seem to be Asian kids tho. at least in Australia. Yeah I dont really mind seeing some cute Asian girls in kinky outfits in public thats for sure.
>>841 Ah, but we can't do anything. >>851's comment hits close to the mark. If our government allocated as much money to the Olympics as China's, there would be a huge outcry from the public. The money could be better spent improving the health system, public transport, environmental things, and so on.
>>844 Weather probably won't be the problem. It's coming up with impressive ideas on a much smaller budget that will be hard. Hopefully they'll do something involving lots of hats.
The money could be better spent improving the health system, public transport, environmental things, and so on.
These things must be done in china first. LOL Do you know how bad china welfare system is? And wage-gap is so big. China is the most appropriate country where communism is sought.
>>858 Yeah obviously they need that. But didnt you see their faaabulous opening ceremony? Sif they care lol. They wanted the worlds attention, and recognition more than saving money for thier own people. Nah democracy is more needed than communism. India is growing fast like China but they do have the basic human rights.
I think guests like Ian Stuart, Nick Griffin and David Irving will lead London Olympic games to success. They have strong ties with London, don't they?
anyway, saying about this closing ceremony, the performance of london was much better than china. It was so colourful and stylish. China's one was only red, crowded... no new impression.
By the way, I have watched him waving scottish flag or something scottish in a soccer game. What is his recognition of his nationality? He is scottish descent. But he was born in London. He was a londoner as well. Does he turn down an invitation to London 2012?
You've never been to restricted areas in China. There are many districts where foreign media or tourists are not allowed to enter. Big cities are well controlled. Even chinese outside are very hard to live in these cities. And Tax and wage are different. In essence people of communist party is the hignest caste in china. no different or worse. China is in the state that Marx criticised harshly.
Tibetans are richer than neighbouring Han Chinese! They live on handouts from the central Government, they don't even pay TAX towards the central government!
crossing the road on a so-called "zebra crossing," where drivers must stop for pedestrians. For the British it's an important symbol of the rights of the individual over larger forces. --------------------------------------- It's from ABC news. There is also zebra crossing in Japan. It's nothing special. http://images.google.co.jp/images?ndsp=20&um=1&hl=ja&rlz=1T4GGLG_ja___JP225&q=%E6%A8%AA%E6%96%AD%E6%AD%A9%E9%81%93&start=0&sa=N I don't get the essence of the news. In japan crossing without traffic signal is "yeild to pedestrians" too. But pedestrians have to make sure that there is no cars before crossing the street. zeebra crosing virtually is "cars first" and pedestrian have to walk the crossing between absence of cars. And zebra crossing withoug traffic signal is mainly paved on road with fewer cars. Then what's special in british zebra crossing? In London zebra crossings of "yield to pedestrians" are paved across the roads with many cars?
I think it's dangerous and messy to make sure that there are no passerbys every time passing the crossing. Drivers must slow down cars and check the pedestrians everytime.
Don't u.k pedestrians turn left and right to check the cars? They walk the street forward boldly?
>>877 Our zebra crossings are rarely as big or wide as that. They're usually on smaller and less busy roads, with less traffic. However, they all have traffic signals: amber flashing lights on both ends, to warn drivers of the crossing.
It is courteous to let cautious pedestrians who are waiting to cross. The cars must yield when a pedestrian actually steps onto the zebra crossing itself. Anyone who doesn't make sure cars are slowing before crossing is pretty stupid.
>>879 Oh, thanks. The situation seems to be not so different from Japan. TV news may be too exaggerated and stereotyped then. It was an american news report. So There might be surprising thing for the USA that Japan and the U.K find commonplace though.
In japan people often wait on the end of the crossing and cars pass mindlessly. There is a considerable reason for it. Because stopping for the pedestrian can cause car-clash with cars behind.
Saitama would be willing to sign a friendship and peace treaty with the NEET Empire. You would even be allowed to reside in Saitama if you are qualified as professional NEET.
>>898 To my eyes, most of us seems non-native English speakers, judging from their vocabularies and expressions used in their writing. No disrespect meant, but that's my impression. I can't describe it precisely, but I can feel some smells of Japanese-university-examination-grammar in their sentences.
For your information, I am 100% domestically-produced Japanese, and I'm proud to be.
yeah i know what ur trying to say i feel that too. and 909 you seem to have decent vocabulary you just need to work on your grammer. keep up the good work though
>>916 I often see your name on this board. I wonder why you don't stay anonyyous, because you can be an easy target to be picked on. Doesn't it bother you?
and like I said, I'm just a Japanese who is trying to learn English so I'm not sure if your way of using the word "challenge" is all right...
I'm sorry...I just wanted to say something because I'm bored. Sensei, you might say,"Do something." Yeah, I really should.
Tomorrow is Monday and for almosot everybody, it must be blue Monday.
But for a Neet like me, it's just one of the oridinary days. But it's the day I feel most guilty. Because everybody goes to work while I just stay at home. To feel less guilty I wake up all night and sleep before dawn. That way, I don't have to feel guilty at least in the morning when people go to work.
But staying at home without bathing in sunlight has made me kind of sick. I felt dizzy and I have vomited actually because of that. I went to hospital and a doctor told me the cause of the dizziness and vomiting has something to do with an organs inside my ears that handles balance. Don't know the name of the organs in English. Anyway from that day, maybe even before the day, I feel tired more than ever and feel slight dizzniess almost all the time.
I type wrong more often and that is because of the dizziness. Can't change this lifestyle though. It's better to bathe in sunlight but in the daytime when everybody work, doing net surfing even if in cludes English website and studying English, kind of make me feel guilty so I end up waking up all night and sleep from morinig till evening.
Keep this kind of lifstyle for years makes you sick so be careful.
i guess, what >>916 is trying to say is that our usage of "challenge" seems a bit strange. In English, "challenge" probably means something like "confrontation", whereas, in Japanese it simply means "to do something". Like, "I am going to study German (English)" ==> "I will challenge German (Japanese)", if you know what i mean.
And I appreciate if some ppl here used a specific username. It probably helps conversations flow in a right direction.
>>918 Is it an incurable disease? Please don't feel bad about yourself because it's not your fault, is it? If you can afford to be out of work, I don't see any problem in it. I have to work and I hate my job. You are lucky in a sense...
Sorry. I've forgotten to say thank you for making >>916 easier to understand. Yeah, "challenge" (charenji) in Japanese is used more casually here, it seems.
It's a good idea to use a nickname here but I've seen those who started doing so become an easy target to be ridiculed. Probably no one wants to do that except for Kataoka Sensei...
>>920 If I feel more serious dizziness or vomiting because of that, then I have to go to see a doctor again. Now I'm not that bad so I don't think I have to go to hospital. But as I wrote, I'm not completely all right. This desease is called メニエール病 and the cause of the desease is various such as feeling stressed out and such. No specific cure is found for this desease. I heard some people take a pill after every meal but I don't think I'm not so serious.
I live on my parents's pension. I have saving in my bank account but I don't use the money to pay daily expenses to my parents. I'm so called parasite, living with my parents.
>>924 One of my co-workers is suffering from the same disease. Now he is on a sick leave... I hope he (and of course you) will get better soon. Stress is one of the triggers, isn't it? You should relax and try to do what you really enjoy...
>>922 You are right. I prefer no-name here. No responsibility. No nothing...
>>926 It's not that I was diagnosed with the desease but it's sure that my dizziness and vomiting doesn't come from clog(s) of tiny blood vessles in my brain so naturally, there's a possibility my desease is メヌエール病.
But mine is a light one, I think. I should feel lucky. If I'm right, it's said that there's on specific cures for the desease. So I think I have to live with the desease. Thank you for your concern and hope your coworker will find a good way to live with the desease.
I don't get hurt being ridiculed. Isn't it fun to be ridiculed because ridiculous things are funny? It's also fun to be assulted because it's stumulation to your body or soul, isn't it?
I understand it is a Japanese way to say I challenge the difficulty. But confronting some difficulty makes sense. Wouldn't challenging some difficulty make sense? Another question, don't other nationalities say in the same way as Japanese do?
>>928 Then let me ridicule you. You are an English teacher but your English is more awkward than the rest of Japanese people posting here. You should try to imrove your own English more besides honing your teaching skills.
My English isn't like natives' but my English is more logical and faithful to basis, which means I shall be honored by good hearted natives. Does this give you joy?
What can be the most pathetic? Those who learn English more than 3 years but never become to be using it in right strucure of sentense. With the logic that I have sought and found, any strucure in any sentence is shown clearly. What can be more brilliant and more helpful than the logic I go on with?
>>938 Depending on what you call "logic" too much makes it difficult for you to write natural English. Your "logic" may work to get a high score on Engklish exams such as a university entrance exam but when it comes to writing English, it's another story. You are tied to your own logic and that is one of the obstacles that keeps you from being able to write natural English.
So, tell me, how many of you are fluent in English? I am just curious. Are non-native speakers supposed to stay away from this thread, because they(we) make mistakes?
(THIS IS A JAPANESE SITE, and WE ARE GIVING YOU SOME SPACE TO HAVE CASUAL DISCUSSIONS IN ENGLISH. Be nice to Japanese speakers, and try to learn to be modest...and polite, if that's not too difficult for you.)
Wateva. Just join. Otherwise this thread will be even more quiet. Ahh too many wankers!!! in Japan btw. These wankers who act like they are special here piss me off too much. Now I know why my gf hated these bogans who come to Japan.
Those signs bannning foreginers are NOT because of racism in Japan. Those bars and shops have experiencfed nuisances by just a small portion of foreigners. Yeah, just a small portion of them but the damages they suffered made a big impact on their business. That's why they banned all foreigners alltogether. That's self-diffense to run thier business.
The foreigners shouldn't blame Japanese people. They should blame the small portion of foreigners who didn't behave in the past instead.
>>967 By that logic, if a small group of Japanese people makes trouble in a store, Japanese as a whole should be banned while only foreigners can shop at that business. It's bad logic no matter how you look at it.
>>968 I think the foreigners who caused troubles in the past didn't undersatnd Japanese so shop or bar owners had hard time handling those situations. Plus, it was not once or twice but quite a lot of time foreigners caused troubles so the bar or shop owners dicided to ban foreigners all foreigner. In short, before claming it's racism, they should blame the foreigners who caused troubles in the past.
>>968 I agree with you. And I know japanese are not strong enough, impudent enough to do such a thing abroad. And if those thing happened, I think japanese in japan would apology for the misdemeanor of their kin abroad. lol Japanese are such a people.
I think foreigners mean mainly Russians. Violent, alchoholic russians are hard to stop by weak japanese. If russian want to be customer, they should urge other violent russians to behave right. I think japanese would do the same in the same situation.
You have to consider bannning is not sector by sector basis. Shop who got actual harm started banning. Harming is bigger than profits they brought.
I don't know you will agree with this or not. People with tattoo are usually not allowed to enter sento(public bath). people with tattoo are usually connected with yakuza(japanese mafia) and their presence offends another normal customers.
Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And Let's pray for the rehabilitation of the Internet-addicted housewife.
There are foreigners out there who are ashamed about the way other foreigners behave.
I was talking to a weeaboo JET teacher and he says many of his colleagues behave very badly when drunk and so he never associates with them and only has Japanese friends.
Oh, yes. Probably it is easier said than done ... Medical science has constantly been developing so I hope they will find a way to get rid of it or at least make it easier for you to live with it... I'm now saying this because I went to bed early last night. Cheers.

Today's a topic on the television would be out going prime minister, Mr. Fukuda. He gave the explanation for his resignation. I got to infer a stress of him from his expression because I could sum his face up when I watched him at first.
