Please say something freely only in English and leave.
This is a monologue thread. So you can talk to yourself.
Others don't have to take part in it or give a response.
2名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/14 02:45
guys who like Enlish and are a little good at English tend
to have a lot of pride. So quite a few of them are little
strange and are hated by other people.

The Olympics has just started but I can't make myself get into it.
As I grow older I think I'm losing an interest in sports.

But at the same time I'm becoming less interested in music, too.
I play guitar and I have some deeper understanding in music
than others I guess, but today's music scene doesn't really fit in.
I don't think the level of the music today is getting lower than yesterday.
Nor do I think I'm getting behind the times as I got older.....
I take it retrogression into the past and combining ethnic taste into
the comtemporary context are the features of today's music scene.
But the excessive efforts to create something new and bizzare seem to
be making people mistake that music is something very difficult to understand.
This tendency was the strongest in the late 90's and it's getting a little weaker
now, but it's covering over the music in '00, too.
I hope that musicians will create music that everyone can enjoy
and I don't want them to try to mislead people by giving false impression.

Olympics get under way in Athens.
Alas! Japan was beaten by Paraguay in soccer.
But Yawara-chan got a gold medal. She is really great.
20名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/15 00:56
i gatta make a new goal. i feel i myself changed.
maybe cuz my body is getting weaker. so it is a joy,
to look back upon my college days.
21名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/15 02:06
How can I know whether she really loves me or not?
I feel many women pretend to like us, men, so
many men are cheated. My best friend was cheated by
a woman. A girl is trying to come closer to me.
How can I know the innermost of her heart?
22名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/15 02:20
I think when a woman gets closer to a man, she surely likes him,
if it's only for a short time. A guy like me has never been approached
by a girl because I'm not a popular type. I once read somewhere that
a girl tries to approach a guy when she loves him while a guy tries to
avoid her when he loves her.
I assume your case is rather rare and it's unusual for a man.
The conclusion is clear and simple: YOU ARE POPULAR.
23名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/15 02:32
>>22
What I mean is a little different from what you are trying to say.
In the past a girl got closer to me, and I thought she loved
me. But as it turned out, she said to me that she liked me
as a friend. Since then I've been cautious about this kind of
matter. It is not friendship but love that I want from
a woman. If it is just a freind relationship, male freinds
are much better. I don't want to be popular but want to be
really loved by a girl.
24名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/15 02:33
timpo,timpo,timpooooko!
25名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/15 03:01
>>23
If that's the case, I think you should tell her about it.
If she doesn't really love you, at least she likes you as a friend.
If she loves you, she will be your girl.
In which case, you have nothing to lose.
But if you want her to love you 100 percent, it's not the way to go...

I wonder if there really is distinct difference in the feeling
between love and friendship when it comes to girls?
Girls often say "We end up in marrige to a man but not to a close friend!
It's kinda...like our hunch or instinct."
If that's the case,
We guys should not try to be too frank with girls whom we really love?
Does that mean I'd better keep a little distance from her?
I don't quite get it...
31名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/15 12:35
There are two tyeps of girls. One is the girl who wants to be loved
by only one man. The other is the girl who wants to be loved by as
many men as possible. The latter is jsut bullshit. Be careful not to be
caught by this damm-shit girl.
Tani defeated Frederique Jossinet of France in the women's

†Ken† came up with the GE method, the only way to
improve your English effectively.
No one didn't think DVDs are useful in learning the language.

He now recommends English learners read more books than you
think is enough to create what they call English brain in your
head.
You ought to try it!!
59名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/17 07:54
thanks, ken! even though we have the players!

I want to know how to get rid of it.
67名無しさん@英語勉強中:04/08/17 20:56
I've read many times that GE is the best method for
all learners of English to master the language.
At first, I thought it was a lie.
But I did notice how useful it is after I tried it.
Why did I ignore what Ken said, though it made perfect sense?
I was stupid.

I hope you get started on GE right now, so that you won't

I didn't know American national basketball team had
lost the first match. And they narroly beat Greece.
Considering the original dream team was really invincible,
the American team this time seems like some NBA players-not all of them
first rate- were chosen to go to Athen.
If America can't get a gold medal, people in the world will no longer
look up to them as the best of all the basketball players.

I like reading both written in English or Japanese.

Let me introduce a book I've recently read.
Its title is Genya−if derectly translated it means a shadowy night-
whose author is Keigo Higashino, one of the most popular writer
in Japan.
The story begins when a devastating earth quake hit Kobe, or
what's called Hanshin-daishinsai.
One of the two main characters(a woman) goes up the staircase to success,
while the other(a man) walks his way through the very darkness.
What interest me most is how the woman deceives the man into
doing horrible things including murder..
Her appearance maybe superbly good but her mind is very ugly.
What is life? She lives to earn big money?
Only money can make her happy?
In order to achieve her goal, she does whatever it takes
to be successful.

Try reading it.

I read on this message system that GE is the very best way of learning English.
And the new generation of GE, which is called G.E.NETWORK,
recommends you study English by watching DVDs,reading a lot of books,
along with shun-nou-kassei-eitanngo and VSOP, all done in 1.5 times speeds.
I think if you try it hard, you'll sure become an absolutely good
English-speaker!
Why don't we do it?

2 I was using some English softwares to memorize English words
though I didn't particularly use Shunno-Kassei-Eitango.
3 I read hundreds of English books, including picture books for kids,
paperbacks, and books for college students.
4 I tried listening to English speeches which are more than 3 times faster
than normal speed.

Got it?

I want to talk about how to study English.
What I have in mind is "shadowing", which has recently gotten
popular among learners of English in Japan-it may be called
tadem reading in the States.
Shadowing needs people to concentrate on both sounds and
meanings of English so intently that you have to be somewhat
used to the language before you try it.
Some of the people who tried the method say it's a good way
to learn English.
And I agree with them.
Why don't you try it if you want to boost your lisning and

Sorry, but I don't know who nonotan is.
Let me try to write a story.

This story began a long time ago, when evil monstors suddenly appeared
on the earth, killing a lot of people.
There were four kingdoms on each continent-one of them is
Japanomenia. The king called in fighters, wizards, and
anyone who wanted to fight it out against the monstors.
It seemed, however, the human beings ended up losing to them.
After the monster almost dominated Japanomenia,
a boy called Yamato standed up against the forces of darkness.
He was the slayer.
Yamato was 16 years old, lived a usual life until
one of the monstors cast a shadow over his residence by killing
his father and mother. He decided to revenge the one
who made his life full of saddness.
"Dad, mom, I will make the monster pay for what it did!!
I won't forgive it!" said Yamato in his head.
It was a while before he noticed Megumi, a girl who lived next to
his house, were taken to somewhere he didn't know maybe by the
evil monstor―his foe.
"Hey, where was Megumi taken to?" Yamato asked her mother, who
replied "Nope, I don't know.. The monster. It took her.
Oh, what can I do. Please, please save her from it."
Yamato said, " Damn! I hate it. My mom and dad killed,".
Then one thing came to his mind.
"I'm going to see the Japanomenia king to get what I'm
supposed to do," he drawled in spite of his anger.
Then Yamato got back to his house, though it had been badly destroyed
to wreck. He made his way to where there should have been
his own room, found his drawer, and rummaged through it
to look for a small sword his father had gave to Yamato on
his birthday this year.
"Right," he said, getting out of there. "I'll kill the filthy monstor
and bring her back home ," he told Megumi's mother.
In his head full of hatred, Yamato headed for the castle of
Japanomenia.
He walked on and on, went through some villages, found
a lot of people wailing because of evil monstors destroying their
house and killig their family members.
"It's devastating..."he thought.
Several days' worth of walk took him to a small town where he decided
to take a rest.He went into an inn and asked the master," there haven't
appeared any monstor yet? This town looks safe".
The master replied,"No, not yet, but I don't know when any of them
will come to break it down here."
Yamato fell a sleep in a bed of the inn before the town
reverberated with a fierce, horrible roar.
He got up with a start."What? What happened?" he said, and got out
of his room.
"A monstor! A big winged cat-like one!" shouted the master of the inn.
Yamato felt his blood coming up to his brain, thinking "I'll kill
the monstor," and asked him "Where is it now?".
He said in a hush, terrified voice,"I heard the roar
in the center of the town. What are you up to? Don't do anything
silly.It's dangerous!"
Yamato ignored him and dashed to the place.
I want to correct some spellings.
monstor→monster
standed→stood
saddness→sadness

Sorry.
The cat-like monster was pacing back and forth
around a fountain at the center of the town.
"Ghaaaa!!!sheeeeeeee!" snarled the monster, whose malicious yellow
eyes were ball-like and in them run vertical slits of black.
It was huge and mud-brown.
Yamato faced it before he got a strong hold of the hilt of his sword.
He pulled the weapon from the scabbard, brandished it, but missed
hitting the big cat, which in turn opened its mouth and blew out
a snow storm. Yamato tried to dodged the stuff but got his right knee
somewhat frozen. " Shit!" he shouted.
It sneered and tried to rounded on him. Yamato got his eyes shut,
feeling he would be killed. Then a voice echoed in there.
"What the...?" Yamato thought, before a burning fire was shot from
somewhere and the winged monster was burned to ash.
He noticed a girl standing on the brink of the fountain, smilling
at him.

oh my little girl,i hot you.
oh my little girl,i love you verymuch.
oh my little girl two man promise love each other forever.
She was a dimpled, charming girl and came close to him.
"Hi, how's it going? Are you...?" she said.
"Yamato. Um, thank you," he answered in a confused voice.
"Oh, Yamato. Cute name. I'm Saki." said the girl.
He found her in red and brown robe with a short wand in her hand.
"Are you a witch?" said he, looking awe-struck because he's never
seen such kind of person.
"Of course, I am," Saki told him in amusement, " Never seen one?
Anyway, you looks like you're a fighter, right?"
"I am. I want to beat up monsters because of my vengence gig, so
I decided to meet the king of Japanomenia." he said as if
he talked to himself.
"That sounds good. I am going to the chastle, too. how about if
we go there together?" Saki said happily.
"No. It's a pain to protect you." he replied.
"What're you talking about? If I hadn't been here, you would be dead now."
Saki said indignantly.
Yamato felt as if a big rock hit his head and said, "Um, you're right,
but..."
"Deal! Let's go!" said the girl.

My mother thinks that I don't understand others' feelings.
But I guess she means by this a very deep sense of "reading others' mind".
She meant "a sense of guessing what people are thinking" peculiar to Japanese people.
I don't have that kind of consideration since I was born.
And it seems that that's what Japanese people have already lost in our generation.
I always felt that I lacked it when I was little, and was concerned that I was a bit
weired person in this country.
But now I know that everyone has lost such ability, and I don't have to worry about it.
However, still, people have to have something in common to communicate their ideas with
each other smoothly.
I think this is a common law which governs people in every country and every culture.
As a child, I remember I was always left out alone in every situation.
I think I need to at least keep the bottom line.

i have no money, sir.
Saki started walking several steps ahead of Yamato.
"Heeey, let me ask, Saki. How come you want to see the king?"
he said loudly.
"Um, it's a long story. But to make it short, it's money,"
she replied.
"Money? What for?"
"That's a personal question. Well, anyway, I just want to apply
for the job the king gives to any Japanomenian in order to
annihilate the monsters that has hit the kingdom."
"Um, ok." said Yamato.

"What are you doing here?" a man heard someone ask him a question.
"Oh, Spin, just looking up to the sky..." he answered to the man
called Spin.
There were a lot of buildings around there. They were so up-to-date
that you couldn't think it was in the same era as Yamato's
that Spin and Jack( who was the man who looked up to the sky) lived.
" Hurry back to the laboratory. No wonder our boss will get angry,"
Spin said to jack, who replied, " In a minute."
Ar last Yamato and Saki reached the big town where the castle of Japanomenia
stood. The town was sorrounded a huge wall to deffend itself from
any intruders- mainly monsters.
"So that's the castle town," they said.
They looked for the entrance to the town and found several
soldiers stood guard there.
"Pardon us. We'd like to see the king" Saki spoke to one of them.
"What do you want with the king for?" he said.
"To apply for the soldiership." Saki replied impatiently.
" A girl and a sissy boy work for the king? Kidding?" the soldier said.
Then a fire was shot from Saki's wand. It hit the wall very close to
the man, who looked too horrified to say a word any more.
" Can we come in?" asked Saki, and she and Yamato walked in.
Yamato felt like he was lucky he was her friend..

"Do you think the king of Japanomenia is available now?"
Yamato asked Saki, looking a bit worried.
"Yep. Let's get in the castle," she answered briskly.

The town was bigger than they thought, so it took long
to get to the entrance of the castle which was huge and
magnificent, on top of which were pinnacles bearing
the Japanomenian national flags-white clothing fabric embroidered
with a burning red fire.

Yamato and Saki asked a soldier who kept an eye on people
entering the castle whether they could meet the king because
of their desire to fight against monsters, and the
guardian let them in.
They proceeded to a staircase leading to the king's room,
feeling a bit nervous before they saw the king himself,
who looked a little tired but nice to them.

Yamato asked the king reverentially.
"We also need enough money to do it." Saki added.
The king smiled and said, " Welcome, both of you.
I'll let you get enough money.
And as you know, our world is now faced with an unprecedented
danger we've ever had. I have employed so many fighters
as I can. It seems, however, that they ended up in failure so far.
A lot of guys died... So why did you make up your mind to fight
the monsters? They are too strong."
"Because I have to. My friend was taken somewhere by a monster.
I need to save her." Yamato replied.
"Oh, that's miserable..But why did it do that? I know monsters
usually kill anyone. What did the monster kidnap her for?"
the king said as if he talked to himself.
"Well, anyway, monsters live in the north of Ameriburg,
where a thick forest spreads there. At first you need to get to a town
called Rubeca where you can get on any ship bound for Ameriburg.
I hope you can make it." the king told them.

After they got out of the room, they were given 1000 zenis-
zeni is the money for their world.
"Let's look for an inn, and take a rest." Saki said.
"Ok. Um, do you know what Ameriburg is, by the way?"
Yamato asked her in a muffled voice.
"Oh, didn't you know? It's another kingdom in the world.
It's situated in the center of the Amery continent.

we got to the kingdom.Remember?" Saki taught him.

you cannot start windows from only CD rom basis.
similar statements have been published in various
pc magazines. but I've known the way to make a
bootable cd rom based on windows on the Net.
after a system crash windows frequently doesn't
even start up anymore, and this puts the restore
program out of reach. in that case a bootable cd r
which can run windows xp can really be useful.
this windows can use pc card slots, and so we can
rescue a lot of files by moving them into compact
flash or something like that.

Last week I went to S Korea.
I had a kind of dangerous experience.
When I strolled the crowded shopping street in Seoul.
A Korean woman bumped into me.
I said to her "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see you." in English.
Actually I thought I had to say an apology to her, but unfortunately I can't speak Korean at all.
And I thought in this situation Korean is the best, but English is better than Japanese.
To my surprised she replied in Japanese.
"Are you Japanese? Now I am studying Japanese. I want to make a Japanese friend.
I don't have a bad feeling to Japanese at all. And so on."
She asked me if you had a time, let's go to the coffee shop.

You meant it as a beginning of love affair that's unforgiven,
that might turn out to be a tragedy?
Or you thought she was trying to cheat you?

He said the explosion was caused by a demolition of a mountain
to build a hydroelectric power plant.

We went to the nearby coffee shop, and talk each other.
It was my first time to visit S Korea.
I was a little bid interested in communicate with the Korea woman.
She started to talk about personal matter.
She had a boyfriend, but recently she found out he has another girlfriend.
She asked him to explain the situation,
But he didn't admit his fault and tried to cover up.
After that she decided to part from him.
This kind of story is quite common in Japan.
Japan and South Korea are countries of Confucianism.
I thought the sentiment between man and woman in Korean is quite similar to that in Japanese.
Finery she said she didn't want to go home tonight,
She want to go to my hotel room.
