Leeds join Chelsea in move for Japanese star Nakata tribalfootball.com - June 26, 2003
Leeds United are exploring the possibility of signing Parma's Japanese star Hidetoshi Nakata. Manager Peter Reid has been tracking Nakata at this month's Confederations Cup and knows the midfield ace is keen to move to the Premiership. Leeds chairman Prof John McKenzie and his board have discussed the possibility of bringing in one or two signings from the Far East with Reid to exploit the huge following the Premiership enjoys across Asia. Nakata is also a serious target for Chelsea, while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed his long-term interest last week.
