1. Create an Account The first step in setting up an account is choosing a plan that suits your listening pace and offers other great benefits. Then complete a one-time, free software installation that enables your computer to download digital audio. (Users of iTunes can skip this installation.)
2. Browse our Catalog Search over 60,000 titles for best sellers, timeless classics, and everything between. You can sample any of our selections by clicking the green play button, and items you select for purchase will appear in My Library, your online bookshelf.
3. Transfer and Listen Whether you're jogging through the park or relaxing at home, you can listen anywhere by transferring downloaded titles to your iPod®, Zune®, or other player. You can also stream your titles from a computer or burn them on CDs.

Note that Audible files are not MP3 files, but are rather in their own Audible protected format. This is why burning an "MP3 CD" won't work (they aren't MP3 files).
As protected content, you won't be able to convert it directly to MP3, but you may be able to burn an audio CD (for an audiobook, more likely a set of audio CDs).
Note of course that sharing content purchased from Audible with other parties is very likely a violation of Audible's license agreement.
