Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis,
Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers,
Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters,
Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese
who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning
linguists. And let's hope the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!

Here is the place to have a ball!!!!!

I awoke in heat today. Fuji Television is broadcasting the television which is not

17名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/07/25(日) 09:59:14
I don't think people "intend" to scream. Rather they scream when they get scared, carried away, excited, etc.
In a nut shell, it's not something controlable, usually.
18名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/07/25(日) 10:04:57
yes but do you think everyone is like that?
Some people have different reflexes.
Do you wantme to scream? wwww
19名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/07/25(日) 10:14:38
So what's your reflex?
20名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/07/25(日) 10:30:10
Instead of screaming, just give a cry.
21名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/07/25(日) 10:34:12
The reflex is an only child he's waiting in the park
The reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark
And watching over lucky clover isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the reflex does
Leaves you answered with a question mark

How about you all?
There're too many [ who don't ].

Let's assume, one in three international fans who read about the

don't mind KT-TUN, therefore would not sign it.

That makes 6000 Jin fans who heard read about this petition site.
Let's say, the ones who heard about this particular site
is only a quarter of the total online Jin-fan population.

Then the total number of online Jin fans oneline is 24,000.

let's say 80% of international fans are online.
Total Jin fans off line would at least be 30,000 internationally.

And these are the "JIn-fans-only" we are talking about.

There is also the KAT-TUN fandom, who are not Jin fans but love KAT-TUN.

And that is not inlcuding the fans in america. they would never sign

Tomorrow is Wednesday.
I'll take a bus [ going to Pensilvania ].
I'll live in a Pensilvania hostel for 2 weeks.
I'll be away from Manhattan for a while.
After that , to save my hostel staying money,
I'll cross the national border and stay in a hostel in Mexico,
[ for that time I have to use Spanish language ].
I'll have mastered Spanish language [ which I have never learned ].
Isn't one [ who is in Christ ] great!?

Metropolitan cities such as Tokyo, Osaka are not always good.
They call those city Concrete Jungles.
That implys surrounded by building, lacking of natural environment such as forest and little human relation.

so, if you like being solitude and shoping for the newest items, those cities are really good.
On the other hand local major cities such as "Seirei sitei toshi" in Japanese, I don't know correspondent word in English,
are opposite.

Particularly, tiny city in the provinces is quite tedious. there is nothing except for natural environment.

in this thread don't buy that - everyone thinks Johnny's is not interested in branching
in Europe nor going to perform there; however, at least she seems to petitioning the agency,
sadly though, it's fallen through for now. Full of despair, but I want to encourage her.
If she represents a group, Kame will definitely meet and thank her for doing her best to
let Kat-tun come visit Europe. In my amazement, however, she flatly denied she wanted to
meet Kame in person when I asked her if she's interested in some kind of fan meeting with him.
Maybe she's been pretending to be infatuated with him, so there's possibility my encouragement
means nothing to her. Be that as it may, I'm also curious fangirls power can lead Johnny's
to take step. They might be ignorant whether or not they are wanted overseas except Asian nations.

Looking at reviews of StarCraft 2 on Amazon, it seems to only have very

equal to those who gave it only 1 star, so it seems pretty hit-or-miss

that is really known here is the single-player Solitaire version, where one has to just
match up tiles until the pattern is clear, and even that is not played by many people.

You're probably a troll since that information is easily available, but I'll try to answer.
As far as I know, the main concern is that whales are a valuable resource, but are in danger of going extinct.
Humans have been around for a long time, but the world's population has more than
tripled in the last 100 years (from 2 billion to 7 billion), and it should be obvious
that not all natural resources can withstand the increased exploitation
resulting from this fact.
There are also animal rights activists who argue that it's simply immoral to hunt whales,
but I don't think their opinions have a big influence on the decisions of governments.
I didn't follow the news on the issue, but the main problem the Australians had
with Japanese whale hunters was that they were hunting in Australian waters
under the guise of research, if I remember correctly.
It's also not really a "recent" thing, it's been going on since at least the 1960s,
with the ban on commmercial whaling being established in the 80s.
Before that, western countries were happily whaling wherever there were whales.

How marvelous, isn't it? He can dance better than any of the Johnny's members.

Yea, that's a bummer.
There is a rumor Bllizard announce release date of Diablo3 at Blizzcon 2010.
But I don't expect that as usual.
People always think "Why do they take too much time to development even though they will
largely modify game by patching."

Speaking of Mahjong, I like mahjong too.
Usually, I play Mahjong on PC or Game console. so I don't know real Mahojong set in detail.
The most well known Mahjong set as high quality is made of ivory.
But nowadays we can't get that easily and the price is quite expensive because trade of ivory is
prohibited by law.
I often heard that you should buy the one sold for more than 10.000 Japanese yen.
Not based on the list price. Usually they are sold with large discount. (50-90%)
If you don't much care quality, they are sold for about 5000 Japanese yen.

The problem is that I don't know the online shop that can send purchases to abroad.

Thanks for the advice! You're right - it is quite difficult to sometimes
find online stores there that ship overseas. Yahoo Auctions is especially
difficult. But more conventional places, such as Amazon, readily offer
international shipping. I'm a little frightened of online mahjong... haven't
played for maybe eight or nine years, and only really know one or two variants.
Will give it a try one day.

I guess it's good that they're taking time to polish up their product, rather
than releasing it full of bugs. Either that, or they're trying not to release
it too close to other games, so that people will empty their pockets on one
before purchasing another. When Neverwinter Nights came out, it was about three
years after its original release date.

There are many sites on the net, Youtube, tudou, dailymotion, etc etc and alos many drama channels with
Japanese drama that has Johnny's actors in it. This is how powerful the internet is. It is forming a youthful
global consumer community that is geographically dispersed but they
are there. It is like the early stages of a new religion. This is alos happening becuse of bloggers,
who include links to streaming media, images, interviews , even analysis and lots of gossip.
Most are closely linked to the anime culture in Japan. You could say that, they are part of a global
otaku culture, in parallel with teh Japanese otaku culture.

how far the culture has gone, in the most unlikely countries.

Come to think of it, Is there any online Mahjong game service except for Asian area?

There are several online services in Japan for free.
Some of them use Active X or Java technology to play so that I don't want to use those service
because of security reason.
Except for that, We Japanese are in good situation to play Online Mahjong.

I suppose the rule of Mahjong is basically same in anywhere.
Maybe the most difficult thing for foreigner to play online Mahjong in Japan is Kanji.
If there is online service that can be played in English, we can enjoy Mahjong together.

By the way, What do they call each combination for getting the score in English.

>>374
There are some Western online Mahjong servers which do require registration,
and a subscription fee - but only if you want to be included in online rankings
(ranking doesn't really interest me). Just trying to find it again...

As you say, I suppose the basic rules are the same but with some variation
on the names. 刻子, 槓子 and 順子, in English-language Mahjong, borrow from the
Chinese variation and are known as Pung, Kong and Chow. A 対子 is known as
an Eye (since there are two of them).

The only Mahjong manual I've been able to find (and already have) here is from
1938, which only really covers American and basic Chinese Mahjong. It's nice to
learn Japanese Mahjong, though, as it feels almost as if I'm playing for the first
time, even though there are many similarities. Would be happy to have a game online
sometime, even if just to figure out what's different.

I found some informations about Mahjong set.
In Japan, The Mahjong set made from Urea Formaldehyde Resin is commonly used because of their durability
and productivity.
If you are sensitive about environmental problem, I think you already know the fear of them.

But those Mahjong set are treated as high quality in Japan.
In fact, they have several advantages as compared with other material.
They seem most suitable among the materials commonly used for Mahjong set.
If you can accept those factor, that would be best one to you.

I also found several shops that could send purchases to oversea.
But they have Japanese language pages only, So you would be obliged to deal with them in Japanese.
Unfortunately, Amazon Japan specifies that they don't send Mahjong set to oversea.

Buuuuut, Rakuten offer shopping site for foreigner in several language. the URL is as follows.
http://search.borderless.rakuten.com/borderless/search.action?|=en&k=mahjong

The one thing I worry about is cost of shipping. They offer shipping cost calculator at the bottom of page.
The estimate of shipping cost is rather high as compared with using FedEx or something like that.

If there is import service to buy those items in your country, it's worth considering using them.

Thanks!! That's incredibly helpful. Personally, I'm not too worried about
materials, although durability is good to take into consideration, as I don't
really want them ending up all cracked, like my current ones. Bone would most
likely be problematic because of customs, when shipping into the country. And
bone stains with age anyway. Phenol formaldehyde resin seems quite a safe bet
too.

Found a British seller, earlier, who imported and sold some of the sets shown
on Rakuten, but his prices were twice as much (even for the exact same sets),
so thanks for the link - I'll browse through this site more in the morning.
The shipping isn't too bad - it sets the default weight at 10kg, which is a
lot more than needed, so the adjusted cost should be quite a bit less.
And I'll post a link to that multiplayer site once I find it again, if
you're interested.

Ah, but like poker, there so many variants. Also, part of the fun is
actually learning how to play and improving. And working out how to
talk people who have never seen it before into playing. Which is almost
everyone here (locally). Like most games, there will be stretches of time
when the game stays packed away in a cupboard for a while, and then it

Don't worry about it. There's no need to be sorry for misspelling his name.
I just wanted to signal you just in case. That's just it.

Hmm, so main resources you guys get Johnny's stuff from is limited on the Internet.
This makes things a little complicated, I think. I don't bother to tell you those dramas
are copyrighted and you get them illegally, in reality many people do that with impunity, but
if that's the case, Johnny's maybe knows that there's a certain amount of needs overseas
and still most of them don't bring themselves to pay for their stuff.
As long as their dramas are available for free, European girls see them, but they don't want to
buy them, which I think would make the agency think it'd not be worth a try to do business in Europe.
No cable stations air Japanese dramas because their needs are satisfied with illegally uploaded videos on the net.
So there may be needs but there's no market there.
I'm not sure how Johnny's thinks about it, but if they are going to the Europe market,
the first thing they should do is make contracts with cable TV stations, don't think you?
387名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/08/02(月) 11:42:31
Johnny's should consider visiting Europe. Sure, there's almost no probability
they will succeed there since those EUropean girls who watch Johnny's dramas are quite
small and they are far from the mainstream of the society, but who cares?
Just fail there and realize Asia is the only place where they are accepted.

Akanishi is being forgotten away indeed.

A couple of decades ago, Akanishi used to be found just anywhere such as puddles or ditches.
Nowadays, however, it is difficult to find living Akanishi in Japan.
You can get frozen Akanishi in pet shops dealing in tropical fish at a cost of several hundred yen.
But most of them are imported from China.
522名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/08/05(木) 16:48:26

By the way, you think Kamenashi is a stinky, filthy and nasty bug, don't you?

But Kamenashi just releases the foul smelling liquid to protect himself.
If you don't touch him, then he releases nothing.
Or if you have to touch him, do it carefully and gently.

What's important is never to get Kamenashi to be angry.
Unless he's angry, you never get that bomb of stinky liquid.

You must keep this advice in mind.

When you use a conjunction word, you should be careful.
For instance, you shouldn't start a new sentence from the words like "But", "Or",
and "Because". Then, you can use a comma between the previouse sentence and
the conjunction word. Of cause, it depends on the conjunction and the construction.

Ex)
wrong) I like him. [period] But I hate her.
correct) I like him, [comma] but I hate her.

However, I am talking about writting. If you are just writing spoken language, you don't
need to follow it too much.

I find it disrespectful when people discusss "other people's worth"
in this way.
I see it is a reflection of your own struggle to find respect and
feel worthy in society.
What you don't realise is, this kind of thinking only makes opportunist
power seekers happy, because they will rule over you, and use you as
they please.
Therefore do not put down others, do not put down yourself. This has nothing to do
with healthy competition. Every person is capable of doing worthy things.

Would you please be so kind as to my text, becauseI'm no good with English

My text is this

My study of university is decellularizing of using ultra sonic.
First,before I explain this study,Ishould think explaining"decellularizing".
Decellularizing is the processing, takeing off the cell from native tissue.
For example, It happens immune rejection when donor's native tissue
transplant to host tissue.
It is because donor's tissue cell is existing in the tissue. therefore,
we using ultrasonic and taking off donor's cell from donor'stissue.
The number of using device of this processing are five.
First, ultrasonic homogenizer.Decellularizing is processed by this device.
second and third, NaCl(食塩) and SDS(ドデシル硫酸ナトリウムの略).These are buffer.
fourth,The circuit(that)is circulated the buffer.fifth ,heatexchanger.
Initially The native tissue is setted in the buffer in the circuit.
next, heatexchanger's(and buffer)temperature set up 37℃.then, the circuit set up
rpm(回転速度を表す単位) 40〜50. finally, The ultrasonic's insonification is start.
The processing take 2 hours to do.

---------------------------------------------------

My major study in the univercity is Decellularization of tissue by means of ultra sonic wave.
First of all I think I should explain " Decellularization of tssue"
Decellularization of tissue is a processing of taking off the cells from native tissue
When transplanting native tissue from donor to patient,
the patient's immune systems rejects the donor's tissue. It happens because
the donor's living cells remain within it's tissue.

Therefore we try to remove donor's cells from his tisseu by using ultra sonic wave

There are five devices that the processing needs .
At first, ultrasonic homogenizer. the processing of Decellularization is executed by the deveice.
The second,NACL , the third,SDS. These are used as buffer in the process The fourth, the circuit
where buffer circulate around. and the fifth ,heatexchanger.
The first step of the processing is that you put native tissue in the circuit containing buffer.
then setting the temperature of both heatexchanger and buffer at 37 degrees.,
and then setting the current speed of the circuit at rpm 40〜50. Finally, you begin to irradiate
the native tissue with the ultra sonic wave. It takes 2 hours to do the processing.

Kamenashi (stinky bugs) are very interesting insects.
As you know, Kamenashi often produce dreadfully bad smell, but they are not necessarily offensive bugs.
Kamenashi release a foul smelling liquid only when they are offended.
You know, they do so to protect themselves.

What's more interesting is that there are many families of Kamenashi and each family has its own distinctive smell.
Surprisingly, there is even an odorless family of Kamenashi.
So you should not assume that Kamenashi always smells bad.

By the way
what do you think abou Kan's statement on 100th anniversary of
Japan's annexation of of Korea
I just want to say Kan " dont wake a sleeping dog."
The issue of Japan's annexation of Korea has been clearly settled
by Treaty on Basic Relations between Japan and the Republic of Korea
signed with korea in 1965.
Here if Japanese goverment beat a dead horse, that country would
become more and more loud in it's demands.
The current cabinet doesn't understand at all about what the neighboring country is.
The people there have too much egocentric and hysterical national character.
Our goverment try to issue the statement just for shaping their unrealistic
political idealism or their arrant narcissism , although politics is reality itself.
I must say ,the people of japan are so miserable because of having such
terribly feeble government

But still, they try so hard to defame Japan and the Japanese
for their "brothers and sisters", who hate them anyways.

Not really. Today's high value of the yen to the dollar is mainly because of the failure of the Wall Street, not the successful result of Japan's economic activities.
Basically, the weaker the currency of the country is, the more easily its economy grows because it can foster exportation of its domestic products
as until recently China has kept shipping thousands of made-in-China products to the world thanks to the unreasonably weak value of Yuan to the dollar.

A weeaboo is a non-Japanese (particalrly a White Westerner) who is obsessed with Japan/Japanese things. It is often used in reference to anime fans.

The word comes from 4chan, where a wordfilter was used to cause the word "wapanese" (white Japanese) to display as "weeaboo".

Sorry I can't write Japanese cuz I'm Korean. I love music but don't like much about idol music.
I found out this discussion is very interesting, so as of Korean I wanna join in if you excuse me.
I feel Japanese girls idols are so shocking(in negative way.)
They seem to have a fixation on school uniform.
AKB48 ポニーテールとシュシュ, oh my god, the camera in PV try to rip off their clothes like they wanna peep the girls naked.
It's just so unbelievably disgraceful and unpleasant for young girl's eyes.
You guys in Japan should understand why teenage girls in Japan is so enthusiatic about Korean girl idols.
Cuz Japanes girl idol's cannot be role models for Japanese teenage girls.
Hello, it's 21century. Please put that school uniforms off.
Korean girl idols try to look powerful(confident) as well as cute and sexy.
In Korea, girl idols like snsd, kara is targeting to male audiences.
In Japan, teenage girls loves Korean girls idols. Think about "why".
I think there's a very interesting key point.
I'm not telling about music. It's about culture about girls.
I think you guys in Japan are losing your teenage girls audiences cuz your culture doesn't respect them.

im japanese male but i completely agree with you on that you wrote about
difference between K-POP girls and J-pop girls. compare to Jpop girls like
AKB48 and モーニング娘, kPoP girls are very attractive and look ten times hotter.
you Korean guys have no idea how lucky to have them, and
you've got to undersand that even we japanese male are sicking and tired of
childish Japanese girls idols already. My friends and me myself are all big fan
of 少女時代SNSD and KARA. im telling you, every japanese male (except akihabara geeks)
are dreaming about dating with Korean girls because thay are so sexy and lovely.

>>850 Yes! Your analysis of Korean idols is right!!

Fundamental characteristics which star idols must have should be a
unique talent. It seems almost all Korean star idols have original
characteristics which are never copied from others, besides they
know the importance to create and introduce new style of idol.
Korean idols are now very famous, and when new idols debut, they are
immediately introduced to many Asian countries including Japan. It
might show how much Asian people are interested in Korean idols. However,
unfortunately for Japanese, Korean idols' information is always delayed
coz of not enough media coverages that introduce new Korean idols. Japan
has also got many potential fans who actually love Korean
idols like other countries' fans. I hope such a situation will be changed!!!

generally korean idols tend not to be able to be popular in japan
in the case of toho-chink they also didnt have popularity in japan at first.
after a process of trial and error they finally struggled to gain japanese people's
some notice. but it takes them a long long time to do it.
there is a clear difference in value of idol between japan and korea
i know that korean idols are more sexy than japanese idols
but if most of japanese wanted sexy idols truly, then japanese showbiz
would provide the people with them by itself
as for the originality ,
like other asian nations korean idols are also under the strong influence
of the US .no more and no less
so i dont think they have originality at all

Korea has basically been a enough developed country since 5000 years ago,
and many Asian countries have always followed Korean modern culture. While
enemies like Japan and China always intended to invade Korean peninsula,
real Korean warriors bravely fought against them. Therefore, Korea finally
ended up as an advanced country! Of course, there is still DMZ(Demilitarized
Zone) between South & North Korea, and North Korea is a very poor country
as you know. However, the reason why Korea was split into two is that Japan
invaded Korean peninsula with illegal way. If Japan didn't invade, Korea would
not be separated for sure. Although Japan must deeply apologize to Korea,
it doesn't mean Korean people really hate Japan. I think only real apology
can solve this problem, and Japan has to pay compensation for Korean people who
have got individual damages, instead of compensation for Korean government coz
individual compensation is the most common way for this kind of issue.

If Japan had not annexed Korea, Korea would have been invaed by
Russia or China. Korean separation only proves their fate was
within the hands of Russian and China. Without Japanese presence,
Korean pennisula would have just seen a regime of North Korea like(first,
puppet of USSR, today subject of China) earlier.
Then if America had not fought back, korean would have seen
one nation, DRPK all over korean peninsula. It must be
good thing for you.
Don't dream on. First of all, you should go back to Korea and work
for them.

And about individual compensation, it's Japanese government which

As a person who has never bought music online such as iTunes and what not,
this news is quite surprising. Some day, mega book stores shut their doors
because of e-publication? The trend is already cast its shodow in publishing industory.
966名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/08/23(月) 17:42:08
Yeah, to me, it feels like the Internet has been stirring and turning
the society upside down.
I wonder if any of the UK HMVs have been shut down also.

But isn't it true that the audio quality of CDs is better than the
downloaded music? Or even so, the difference is not audibile?
967イギリス人:2010/08/23(月) 18:11:53
>>966
HMV Group sold HMV Japan to DSM Investment Catorce in 2007, so they've
been a separate operational entity. HMV in the UK is the largest retail
chain of both movies and music - the biggest competition was another media
chain called Virgin Megastores, part of Branson's Virgin group, but Branson
sold the stores and they were rebranded as 'Zavvi', which then went into
administration and closed down in late 2009. So there's not really any highstreet
competition. HMV group here also owns the Waterstones chain, which is the UK's
largest highstreet bookstore.

However, both stores are trying to push digital/online content too, with HMV's
hmvdigital.com which offers MP3 downloads, as well as Waterstones, which generally
has a Sony eReader stand the moment you walk into the shop, as well as thousands
of e-books on sale on their website.

Regarding the quality of downloaded music, it really all depends on how the music
is encoded. The standard format for ripped MP3s is 128kbps - most people can't tell
the difference in quality between this and CD, and the sound system plays a big part
in being able to discern them. MP3 downloads from retailers are usually 320kbps,
which is supposed to be two-and-a-half times better quality. It is also possible to
get music in FLAC format, which is 'lossless', and so suffers no loss of quality from
a CD encoding. However, a FLAC file is usually about ten times as large as a 128kbps
MP3 file, so if you have a song that's 3MB as an MP3, it'll be around 30MB as FLAC.
968名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/08/23(月) 20:03:26
I just took a look at HMV Japan's 10 best selling CDs and 8 of them turned out to be Korean crap.

Gee, thanx sooo much for such a thorough response to my
whimsical question!
So, it seems that things are really turning digital and online in UK.
I don't care so much about the CD jackets, so either way is OK,
however, I do care about paper products such as books and magazines,
and I don't want them to be replaced by e-books.
Having said that though, I like Google Books service very much because it
frees me from a lot of hustle of finding old books, and I also like
how Amazon Kindle is designed.

Well, on a different note.
Japan is becoming subtropical, and bananas and blood-oranges are

Thinking about it, I didn't actually answer your question after all. So,
in short, the difference in quality between CD and a downloadable MP3 is
so small that hardly anyone would actually notice it.

The weather here is very different. Right now it's pouring with rain and
quite a bit colder than it has been recently. The temperature has averaged
about 20-22ºC this past week, and is supposed to go down to just 14ºC later
this week. It is now flying ant and cranefly season. Would rather have
blood oranges than craneflies.

Compared to America, Japan is very hot in the summer.

These are just normal black garden ants, but for three or four days of
the year - usually on the warmest summer days - the males and immature
queens emerge from their nests, fly around a bit, mate, then the queens
try find a new place to dig, while the males die a day or two later. It's
difficult to avoid standing on them, and even just thinking about flying
ants makes me itch a little, for some reason.

>>982
I agree that 128kbps is not enough, however, many people just make do
with 128 because they don't know any different. It's a similar case
where people don't mind having badly compressed JPEG images of their
photos, because they're not aware that they can be made to look better
through careful processing. Careful as in not using MS Paint to resize
them.
