Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And Let's pray for the rehabilitation of the Internet-addicted housewife.
>>1 I don't think you did a right thing. You didn't win trust from us.
>>3 Sigh... You are right. This is the outcome of the unfortunate guy ignoring useful advice. How sad. Let's kill this thread now and creat a new one soon. (・д・)b
This thread is and should be 121. The person who made 200 last time was the one to make the mistake. Now the thread can follow from 121 to 122 to 123... etc. It's fine.
I am so sorry, but it was an accident. I didn't even notice that I created Part 121 because my cat changed my keyboard's layout. Its layout was messed up, especially 10 keys and I just got fixed now. So I will never let my cat to get closer to my computer. And it will never happen, so forgive me please. My cat apologizes too. but I want you to think about it. Isn't this thread should be 121?
Hey look, I'm back. Thanks >>29-32 >>38 is some really natural English. Saw something like that out loud to a native-speaker friend some time. They'll be astounded.
>>1, >>4, >>5, >>7 etc Surprising. You guys can be cruel sometimes. Even if it isn't serious, I wouldn't have expected this sort of thing from Japanese. How long ago did we have that stereotype conversation? Politeness is one. "Don't make waves" etc.
My mom is afraid of Online Russians and Gaijin -.- But really She should be afraid of the Americans and Europeans online they are the ones who are ALOT worse They are also the most FAGGETY
>>52 Hmmm? You seem to beautify 2ch and it's not so beautiful a place. It's friendly advice. If you can't take it, then it's best to leave and find somewhere heartwarming to you. There must be a good place for communicating with unnaturally GOOD MANNERED Japanese. I'm sure of it.
>>63 you used lol properly also wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
>>65 Found a full text of his victory speech. But I don't think it lives up to your expectation. No explanation about his English, but just read it. Better than nothing, isn't it?
I don't know if a speech transcript with a glossary exists. There doesn't seem to be one place where all of Obama's speech transcripts have been gathered. Here is one, though. It's the one from the night he was elected. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/04/obama.transcript/
>>66 Thanks, by that I mean, substitutes for dictionaries, what kind of idioms, difficult words and expressions are used in his speeches, and background information like he said that based on what kind of American culture and such.
>>67 Thanks a million, too. I'm planing on listening to him on youtube.
>>71 I don't think they would have come up with glossaries specifically for his speeches so soon. I would suggest reading a speech and then finding the pieces you don't understand, then looking them up in a separate idiom glossary or asking us here.
I'm so booooooooooooored. What's going on in here?
Whoa, I almost miss >>23. why did he get b&? Seems he already got back, but I don't quite understand why he had to stop posting in the first place. I think I can read moon runes, but it doesn't make sense at all. Aneone explain to me what it was? What's イベント企画板?
Anyone using SRS to learn English/Japanese/whaterver? Been using Mnemosyne for a while and it seems pretty nice. Some advanced learners such as Katsumoto seem to be using SRS too. But why do the Japanese not like this kind of software in general? I told them about SRS multiple times, but they never ever get interested.
>>92 Most serious Japanese learners I know use Anki. I don't use it at the moment because it is inconvenient for me to have to always be at my PC when I want to study. When I get a laptop I'll start using an SRS.
>>94 >Most serious Japanese learners I know use Anki.
Yeah, some of my friends also use it, and they're all good at Japanese. I've browsed through English learners' forums and it seems the SRS thingy is pretty popular among them. But when it comes to the Japanese, they don't use it. Whenever I say it worked for me, they refuse to even take a look at it. What's this SRSphobia all about?
He's awesome. You're Japanese? Then you'll see how good his Japanese is. He sometimes post in Japanese and you can hear his voice in Japanese on his site.
>>47 People who ask questions politely or enjoy conversation never say such stupid things like >>2, >>3, >>4...
Those guys all must come here for the first time, or you cannot explain why they said something incomprehensive like that.lol If you feel bad, I reccomend you write as many slang as possible.
Korean guys are white girls make the best couples. Korean guys like white girls and white girls love Korean guys. So what it boils down to is, they love each other like magnet. It's destination they can't refuse.
Thanks sparky to introduce Louisiana in the previous thread. I understood about Lousiana better, and found South part of America is not good to visit for foreigners. Economical problems and discriminations prevail..
WHat I had learned about south in school is .. growing cotton is popular the ratio of black people is high because they served as slaves high-tech industries are moving there becasue of a sufficient labor force
Speaking of South, South Korea is quite popular among travelers. Many foreigners visit Seoul, the capital of South Korea, because it's a wonderful and advanced city. Those visiters find Korean culture very interesting and impressive. Plus they have an added benefit of meeting Korean guys in person. Yes, many girls want to see sexy and cool Korean guys and have fun talking with them. Man, I can't say I don't like to accomodate all of them, but it can't be helped. Who rejects beautiful white girls asking to have a date with you? I don't think I can resist the temptation of white girls tastes.
How could you? Korea doesn't stink at all. It's far better than that. White girls often say they love to stay longer than they originally planed to. It's because they think Korea is an excelent place to live.
Hey, it's just what I've heard. Plus so what if white girls go there. There's white goods and white trash. Have you ever thought we're just shipping out the ones we don't want?
>>113 When in Korea, you'll see white girls passionately embracing Korean guys like madness. lol White girls are really sexy as are Korean guys. Sexy girls want sexy guys. Korean guys meet the demand of white girls. Korean guys are considered white Asian coz Korean guys are sexy and nice to girls.
Every single girl is quite interested in Korean guys. They seem to want to marry a Korean guy, knowing that they can be happy together with K guys, mostly because the knowledge of Korean guys being nice to girls is spread all over the world.
Korean guys are the most popular among Asian girls, too. Actually, Korean actors are welcome everywhere they go in Asia probably thanks to Korean Wave. They know more about Korea and Korean Shows. lol Their passion for Korean guys is something! lol
>qtsoccergurl77 >Jae's filming for Heaven's Postman I believe. >Goodness. I couldn't help but squeal. >That was freaking adorable.
>CenaRoku >That has got to be the cutest thing, Yunho is so adorable as a baby!
>clueless86 >OMG, they are so adorbale >all four of them >how i wish jaejoong was there >really want to see how he will react >thanks for sharing the subs
They must be exceptionally good-looking "in Korea" and it won't make you-ordinary korean people popular among white girls. Besides, they are uglier than white boys on the street everywhere.
Why can't korean girls be as attractive as white girls? If korean boys are attractive, will their counterpart, korean girls be as attractive and will K-boys select female comparable to them? Why do k-boys run to white girls instead of K-girls?

Japanese high schollers don't actually wear mini-skirt. They pull up skirt to above waist-line. Am I right? I'm japanese but not well informed about today's uniform.
>>135 Not many American schools require uniforms. Maybe some religious schools or boarding schools. However, there still is a dress code. Usually the skirt can't be shorter then however far a girl's hands reach down to her thighs. >>137>>139 The girls where I did my exchange pulled up their skirts to make them shorter. That's why they wear vests over their shirt so the skirt waistline isn't visible.
Pls let me know that how I study English to be good English speaker. My English level is low. I study English very hard. I would like to refer to your studing method.
In my school, all the girls just wore jeans. Skirts were rare. Occasionally you would see someone with short shorts, but that was breaking dress code. Everyone fucking wore jeans. Today, in college, it's the same.
>>144 >Usually the skirt can't be shorter then however far a girl's hands reach down to her thighs. >>146 >Everyone fucking wore jeans. Today, in college, it's the same.
I am heartily glad that I was born and grown up in this islands. When I was a student, girls wore not only uber-short skirts, but also "bloomers" you can see in anime. You never know what it is like to see a girl you have a crush on in the outfit.
I suppose if all you care about is seeing the shape. I don't think it is anything special. One of my girlfriends in high school wore a skirt sometimes and I liked that a lot better than jeans. I guess it is just a matter of opinion.
>>146 But many wear low-rise jeans, don't they? Wearing jeans means a trend rather than their conservativeness, doesn't it? Low-rise jeans are more obscene in a way.
>>146 Well now jeans are popular because it's winter. Nothing wrong with skinny jeans now is there =P? Tights/spandex are getting popular now as well which is fine by me since they're a skin tight version of jeans lol.
Can anyone tell me why Japanese school girls wear socks with the Playboy bunny on them? I found this very strange. I told my host「この兎はアメリカの変態です。」I don't think she appreciated that...
>>168 I think that's a Japanese apparel company has the liscency for the logo from Playboy magazine. I have seen the rabit logo on mens' especially middlea aged men's wear.
hentai? Hentai is a too strong a word for that. Hentai has connotation of pervert but Playboy magazine is just a porn magazine and not pervertish. I wouldn't buy products with the rabbit logo, though. Because the rabit resembles the Playboy magazine.
Maybe the rabbit mark isn't so well known for us Japanese. And some girls just think it's cute.
>>168 I think I would've raised my eyebrows to hear that. What's your point!? The bunny is an American perv? Are you crazy? ...are things that would pop in mind. lol
>>177 Ah, You are right. エロ本 is more common way of saying it. But I think Playboy is too softcore and kind of sophisticated to be called エロ本. Just my opinion.
Seems like products with the bunny mark on them have been getting popular among even young girls.
I was judged by 2ch that I'm a link spammer. lol I tried several times to post one more message with another URL, a link to an article introducing Playboy opened a shop in London.
I typed my message and click on 書き込む(=post) several times but my new post wasn't be seen on a reloaded page because my post included URL.
At my college, there are a large number of Japanese students who are studying abroad. I think there are over 100. The girls are mostly really hot. It's too bad I can't speak Japanese very well.
>>184 what did you say???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Can anyone help me figure out the Japanese in the previous posts? >>187 I kind of understand this one, or at least the general idea, but I have no idea about what the direct translation would be. >>190 I understand this post but I don't understand the context.
You can find picture books that teach kids alphabets at the kids section. You can babysit your kids there, you know. They're all cute, too.
More literal translation would be:
If (you go to) the kids section, there are ABC picture books. There is a place (kids (and most likely parents too)) can sit at. They're all cute, too. (No idea what "they" refers to. Need more context)
Don't know what's going on. Guess someone got infected by some virus and is posting random stuff around here. Probably 190 and 187 are the same person.
I've never heard of dress code in University of Japan. Students get suddenly free in university and again wear the same dark suits in a group for recruiting.
Does dress code exist to prevent american students from wearing fllabergasting clothes, unthinkable clothes in Japan?
>>184 Over 100 Japanese students study at your college? It sounds like there's a quite large Japanese community there. I assume there are some grocery stores as well in your area that sell Japanese magazines, food and imported stuff for them.
A Japanese-American is now Secretary of Veteran Affairs, in the Presidential Cabinet.
"(CNN) -- President-elect Barack Obama formally announced Sunday that retired Army Gen. Eric Shinseki, a decorated veteran and popular figure among critics of the Bush administration, is his pick to be secretary of Veterans Affairs.
...
The official announcement took place in Chicago, Illinois, on Sunday, the anniversary of Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941."
There is an Asian grocery store several miles away. There is one rather close which is called Harris Teeter. Why do they need a Japanese grocery store?!
>>213 Once they adjust to American food, customs, gadgets whatsoever it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I guess it'd be just nice for them to have access to things they're more familiar with. Or maybe it's just that they're picky about certain things. In fact some stores do quite good business selling Japanese stuff where there's demand. If you get to know some of them in your university, probably you'll find out what they're like.
>>207 Yup, I've been to the Chicago Mistuwa twice. The first time I went with a bunch of friends who all went on the exchange trip and the second time I took my family. My friends and I spent a good amount of time walking around the grocery store trying to find all the food we tried in Japan. I actually bought some frozen takoyaki there (it was OK, not as good as the real thing). The best thing about Mitsuwa though is the food court. It's basically the only place I know of where I can find Japanese food other then sushi. Oh and the bookstore is pretty cool as well. The next time I go back I might buy a children's book or a manga with furigana so I can practice my Japanese. photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v274/243/56/1156650405/n1156650405_30412747_7060.jpg
By the way, weren't those lolicious pics illegal in the US? I don't know much about laws of your state, but I'm pretty sure they're nothing your neighbors would think are nice.
Also, you're underage b& in most of internet cesspits you seem to frequent in the first place. Honestly, I don't think they're good for your mental health.
>>226 I thought my post didn't make sense at all because of my horrible (or proper?) engrish. Glad if my post helped you.
>>215 Japanese congress proceeds to regulate child porn more strictly from the pressure from USA. They may not think it as pressure though. They seem to think whatever the US says right. You won't be able to see such stuff sooner or later. If you wanna protect such a perverted culture, you should pressure Japan with USA power. This kind of culture is sick and most of Japanese are away from it. I personally have never seen this stuff and not serious about regulation. But this quick move is weird. Definition can change for the convenience of the feminists and gender free mania. In japan gender free, which got old fashioned and disproved in the west , is still prevelant in education. In some public place gender sign in rest room is made to be confusing. They don't like pink colour and skirt. They are allocated huge budget from the government and they have their office in every public administration.
FUCK THE ENGLISH SPEAKING INTERNETS im staying here http://4chan.b33r.net/sparky4/+4/q/ i can make all boards JAPANESE NOW! go there! it was English user interface not it is Japanese
>230 Lolicon is not illegal in the US. Time and time again, the Supreme Court has declared laws banning lolicon "unconstitutional" and struck them down. Most recently the Supreme Court of Iowa also declared such laws unconstitutional, in the Handley case.
You could never ban drawings in the US. The people believe in liberty too much.
>237 In some sense they oppose the concept of beauty itself...
One of my best friends was gender free.
>231 Goddamn sparky, get off the internet. Go to your local library and annoy them instead.
In the UK, teenager aged 16 and over seems to expose boobs and pussy. How about America? On one hand we have to wait untill 18. on the other hand Perverted child heitai manga is circulated in the underground as well. We can't see penis and pussy in porn while perted play like bukkake and violent against women is circulated for fetish. Drawing the line is obscure in japan.
I heard there is a political group for pedophilia(young child feticism) in netherland. It's ridiculous. lol
I don't think any matured and consent sex can be O.K. Why do americans and europeans love anal sex? it's sick. Jesus must have banned it. They may have their own right. But it's so popular and "normal".
>247 All I know is, in the US, the average age of "first sex" is 16.9 for boys and 17.4 for girls. My college professor showed me these statistics in class.
But it varies a lot. Some kids have sex when they're 11 or 12, others then they're 32. There are ltos of different cultures in the US.
>my "real life" is fail and it has not began yet. your lines remind me of the lines come from the film "Kids Return" 「I wonder our life has been ended up as it is 」 「it has not began yet」
>>256 But also from 逆境無頼カイジ Ultimate Survivor: "“They live meaningless lives. They waste their precious days over nothing. And they age. Then die. And on their deathbeds, they will finally realize. The life they lived was the real thing.

I'm just curious, are there any Japanese here who are in high school? I kind of doubt it since they probably wouldn't be proficient enough to want to post in this thread.
As I see it, Japanese English learners whose English are good enough to understand what's going on here in detail are rare. It's almost impossible for high school kids to follow conversdations here. All they can do is to post one line or two. They don't/can't even read long posts. If they do, it takes a lot of time to read and understand them. Replying them takes much more time and energy for them.
Japanese in this thread consists of three types, being the first type the majority.
1. NEET. They have lots of time to study English. Actually, for many years. Their English is good enough because long time NEET here have a passion to study English although they aren't willing to get a job. Or personality problems of them make it difficult for them to be motivated to get a job.
2. University students or grad students. Their English proficiency is not better than NEET but some are very good at English.
3. High school kids. Their English is not good enough to make thmeselves understood. Even high school kids who can enter one of the best universities in Japan don't have a good writing skills.
As long as NEET is the majority of this thread, Skype conference is just a pie in the sky because they don't want to say they are NEET, talking on Skype. If university or high school students were the majority here, Skype conference had already been realized.
That's just my opinion as one of the hard core NEET.
>>278 Sorry I rephrase it if I wasnt clear enough. Fox News is just a piece of crap that doesnt deserve to be watched by anyone but retarded christians. Therefore almost anything'd be better than them.
>>283 Sorry I rephrase it [ if I wasn't clear enough ]. Fox News is just a piece of crap [ that doesnt deserve [ to be watched by anyone but retarded Christians ] ]. Therefore, almost anything would be better [ than they ].
>>281 You asked a question here but you didn't say thank you to them. The reasons are you didn't understand what they were saying. You can't respond to them in English.
You answer questions in other threads in English board but you can't write decent English. That's terrible to think that you are an English teacher at public school.
>>296 One of the reasons why the university students from Japan studying there is to learn English so you can strike a conversation in English with them. International students from Japan don't mingle with American students because their English isn't so good. You are the one who paves the way for them to make freinds with America students.
100 students from Japan to Tennessee? That's a large number.
A lot of Korean people come and study in America. Korean guys are getting more and more popular in America coz they are well educated, quite good-looking, and nice to girls. White girls are waiting in line to ask out Korean guys. I'm proud of it. :)
The spammer speaks perfect slangy Japanese, and I too learned tons of informal English words and phrases from trolls. We can't tell which is engrish and which is English anyway lol
>>339 I (>>335 and >>338) personally welcome Japanese trolls as long as they're creative and don't outnumber us. Provocative langauge is lively, vivid, and has huge power to carry meaning. You shouldn't use offensive words, but you can learn a lot from successful trolls. I thank trolls on English forums and image boards with my whole heart. I don't think Crystal would agree with me though.
>>340 :P I don't care about trolls. Especially here, my Japanese isn't good enough to understand the trolling in Japanese, and even so it takes so much time to understand, I don't have the time to look up so many kanji, at least not while I'm so busy with schoolwork. English trolls are almost as easy to ignore, and if their English is awkward as it might be here, it can be amusing. Trolls are not so bad really, spammers are the annoying ones.
>>352 Are you talking about Sparky? If you're a Japanese 2cher and don't like him, I recommend you hide his posts. You know how to あぼーん, right? He's always using his trip, so...
>>350 I love this line "To all those in a jail, those persecuted for the cause Your actions were not in vain, soon the light of freedom will shine again! " especially.
> Are you deliberately using miss-spelling which even non-native speaker like me can notice? For example, useing. yes
>Don't you have friends in real life?
well you see i have nobody to relate with in school remember i live in shitty North Louisiana English speaking people are attacking the Russian Internets and useing MY NAME
Can americans publish 16-year-old nude photo legally? We can't see it. Instead there are(were?) books and dvds featuring low and middle teens who do salacious pose.
>>370 Not nude, no. But something salacious is ok. It's more underground than in Japan. Check out sites like: http://img.12chan.org/jb/ It can be very slow, though.
>>370 >teens who do salacious pose rofl, that sounds really awkward. I actually had to look up what "salacious" meant. "obscene", "suggestive", or "lewd" would be better.
That would be like saying, "The English internet [burlesques] Sparky for his strange personality." Instead of, "The English internet [makes fun of] Sparky for his strange personality." To be honest I'm not even sure I used "burlesques" properly, but you get the idea.
>>381 Hi! Can anyone be too strange for the internet, I wonder... There's a place for everyone, even on the "English internet". You just have to find the right chat room.
>>380 Are you really the internt addicited house wife? Have you been following all the threads while you couldn't post? If so, do you know we missed very much? Or you just concentrated on curing you Internet addiction? :P
I don't know how many peopole here know the time when you frequented. Boston Red Sox couldn't make it to the world series although, Dice-K won more wins decreased his losses. He played best among Red Sox's pitcher lineup.
>>388 I don't know exactly but people from overseas sometimes get banned by 2ch. Maybe because there's some cyber attacks from people with overseas domain but I'm not sure. As far as I know, people whose IP address includes se (sweden) are banned now. There used to ba a university student from Sweden whose handle name is スウェーデン人 but he has been denied his access. He can post from his friends home because thier IP address don't include .se.
In domestic cases, if someone is posting random meaningless posts including link spams and all that, he is banned for some time. Other people who happen to use the same ISP, are banned, too. I've experienced gettng banned even though I didn't do any nuisances.
>>384>>386 Thank you for your welcoming words! I might have been personally banned, but I think what actually happened was that they blocked most American ISPs and proxy servers around the same time. Because most of the Americans suddenly disappeared from this thread about a year ago. I haven't been following in the meantime; it was too frustrating to not be able to post.
I'm still addicted to the Internet, but I've developed a second embarrassing addiction--to my son's Guitar Hero game. I'm really good on easy mode; can't do anything on medium mode. Yes, I know this is lame.
I'm so happy to be back, although I don't know how long it will be before I'm kicked off again.
>>388 2ch sometimes block a bunch of overseas providers for an unspecified time period because spammers often use foreign proxies. I'm not sure about jook's case.
I have wondered why all most all people come here from abroad are Americans so far, and had no idea. Considering the huge population of China, it's curious that no Chinese people exisit in this thread. But after reading >>390, I got slight ideas about that; people from most of the countries are banned to access 2ch! As a result, native-speakers here are all Americans. Do you think my assumption is correct or incorrect?
>>396 There used to be people from Hong Kong, mainland china, Netherland.. etc. イギリス人 is lurking. He's just busy with his work after getting a job. The reason why there are many Americans here is that they came here from 4ch. 4ch itself is mostly for American. Just my opinion.
>>391 Wow! You must have been heartfelt by the reference about you in >>1. lol Oh?, you could see the thread but couldn't post... You seem not to be a kind of person who goes to 4chan? and forums like that which could be a liaison to 2ch. You could let them write that you were stil alive and wanted help. Many americans here are from the south and the west. You are valuable cos you are from the east. You must be one in Obama craze. Please let us know how it is going in the east.
>>397 Chinese iternet is isolated... humm, I heard that somewhere before, but this is the first time I realise that actually.
It may be true that this thread would be filled with Chinese if they could access freely ^^; ok, by the way I'm 399 and take a short visit to your place!
>>376 You didn't know salacious? I learned it through writing or audio material somewhere on the internet. It was surely a source from a native speaker. I didn't mean to be pedantic. I was just ignorant. Anyway, thank you.
>>391 Don't worry. I think 2ch won't ban American ISPs again. Do you know why 2ch banned most of American ISPs? It's because a guy posted insanely huge amount of spams by using American proxies. 2ch had no way of getting contact to those ISPs, so 2ch couldn't solve this problem except the blocking I'm living in the US and got banned too. One year of blocking was just crazy. I hope it will never happen again.
>>413 Don't know. He said he doesn't want to go to university full of geeks and nerds such as Calitech. Stanford's carriculum is too hard for him. Silvestor Stalone is from South California university, if I'm not wrong.
>>407>>411 Do we have our own personal stalkers? If you knew I lived in a small town I'd be worried =P. I forgot I mentioned I went to the rally, that must have been one of my first posts. >>412 We haven't seen イギリス人 in awhile...
Ok so, my 日本語先生 told my class that we would be participating in a blogging project with our sister school in Japan. Considering half my class has been to Japan, we were all very excited and gave suggestions to our teacher on how to set up such a community blog. I don't think it'll be successful though. Most of my class hardly knows any Japanese and even us AP students don't have comparable proficiency to our Japanese friends' English. Maybe it'll be like this thread and it that case it wouldn't be too bad. Oh and I have to do an oral presentation (in Japanese and I can only use notes, not read verbatim) on 文化祭 soon, so I'll be asking for help here on that, if you don't mind.
>>416 Stalker? give me a break. You are the one who made those facts in public. You also said you sniffed your host sister's panty in a washing mashine while you homestayed in Japan. :p
But imagining how people feel afte suddenly banned and cannt leave the explanation to their company about the reason they banned, I cannot help feeling symphathy for them.
>>416 You don't have courage to record you reading a part of your draft presentation and let us listen to it here, do you? Anyway, every Japanese here is happy to help you.
My favorite Guitar Hero song? I am playing Guitar Hero 3, and I like many of the songs. So, it's tough to say. Perhaps Pearl Jam's "Evenflow" is my favorite. My best song so far is "Knights of Cydonia" because I played it without a mistake. And my all time high score is a little over 140000 on "Cliffs of Dover". It's funny, because I remember many of these songs from when they were new. But this is all on easy mode. My reaction times aren't good enough for medium mode yet! Unfortunately, Guitar Hero 1 and 2 don't work on a PS3. I like a lot of the songs on the second game; too bad for me.
>>434 Hi, 米人. I haven't seen you though I visit here frequently(especially since a few weeks ago) I know that you used to be addicted to the internet and now you are intrigued by `Guitar Freeks`.
Please introduce yourself and let me know information about you.
Hi sparkly. I enjoyed conversation with you at the online space. I will visit there once in a while and talk with someone to improve my English^^ You can become my English teacher if you don't mind..
The name Konami is very familiar to me. I think they made some Game Boy games, but I don't remember which ones.
>>446 I was last here about a year ago. There isn't much to say about me. I'm from the Boston area, I'm married with 2 kids (14 and 7), I work part time as a substitute teacher in my daughter's elementary school. I was taking Japanese lessons last year, but I stopped when I ran out of time and money. I am still studying Japanese a little, and yes, I count watching anime and dramas as studying! (listening practice) I love reading manga, but have to read it in English translation, since it takes me 1-2 hours to translate a page, and by then I've forgotten the story line. I also suspect that I'm a lot older than most people here, but unfortunately, I'm not a lot wiser, more's the pity.
>>456 Thanks. I could grasp your character vaguely. For me, it seems a little strange or rare that an American house wife immerse herself in the internet or manga, and has interest in Japanese culture. (I don't know well about Americans, though..) You are an unique middle aged woman in America?
Spark, I recommend that you play outside, or study something beneficial such as the foregn languagel(including Japanese) or English composition, if you are addicted to the online world and have a lot of time. I'm happy if you enjoy your life outside a lot.
>>466 www? what life? you mean this Hell hole? ....................................................................... out side is shit lolis roam the streets o_o creepy
Once or twice out of ten times, I mange to communicate with sparky. But other times, it's like communicating with a dog or a cat, if you know what I mean.
*keira=robotintokyo (California) A girl who once said that she'd start vlogging but her nearest shop is on the north pole so she hasn't come back yet. Maybe attacked by a porlar bear or now ended up living in Greenland. She might be robotingreenland now.
*ベイエリア人(California) A man who claims he leads a reclusive lifestyle. Nice man who answeres to our questions in another thread.
*tennessian(Tennessee) A man who loves Japanese culture and wants to go out with Japanese exchange students in his university. The winner of the 28th Elvis impersonater contest.
*アメリカ人(Chicago) Man with panty fetish. Claims he'll be admitted to some of the Ivy league colleges or USC. Learning Japanese but not so serious about it.
*crystal(California) ESL teacher wannabe. Kind enough to answer our English questions. Loves Japanese pop culture. a tad more serious than アメリカ人 but not so serious about studying Japanese. Loves to play catch with her mom.
*jook(california) Tech savvy. Nice enough to answer our English questions in another thread. Loves to sleep with his girlfriend aka pebble behind his parents' eyes. Loves to shave his girl friend's pubic hair.
*火花(4 ^ヮ^)】 ミ田(Louisiana) A boy who lives only in cyber space. Sometimes it feels like it's more easy to communicate with cats and dogs than him.
*米人(Boston) Red Sox fans. Lived for a year in a rehabilitation facility to cure her Internet addiction. Now she devellopped game addiction and every time she sees her kids playing Guirtar Hero, she snaches a controller from them and plays it. She ties them up with ropes and kick them away into the closet not to be interupted by them while she plays the game.
>>474 Thanks for the help, I couldn't figure out the て form of 問う (some sort of exception, MS Word found the right kanji only when I used いで?) and of course I used the wrong particle lol. >>475-476 Well done, good sir!
>>480 >(some sort of exception, MS Word found the right kanji only when I used いで?) I tried it just now and found it's true. But the fact doesn't have deep meaning at all, so don't worry.
And about URL, I couldn't notice your joke! It's a shame! anyway, 疑問に思ったところは何でも聞いてください。
*Ether (Florida) Has travelled to Japan. Taller than 6 feet and blond. Puts a photo of two sumo wrestlers he saw during his stay in Japan on the wall. His penis was bitten off by a gigantic aligator while he was taking a nap in his back yard. His mom is on the FBI's missing people list. On the day he saw her last, he saw a huge alligator with its stomach swollen dissapeaing into a swamp.
>>487 I know him. He was here about a half years ago, and then jook, Crystal, アメリカ人 and etc,, all weren't.
When I came this thread after an interval, however, I found Ether(and イギリス人) has disappeared and instead, another native-speakers live here.(fortunatelly)
When did you come ??? Please let me know the tradition of this thread!
>>489 Yeah I realized it was a joke. Good joke! Actually I didn't even notice the wannabe part, the part about playing catch with mom is what I most noticed.
>>485 The "思ったところ" part of that sentence is confusing me. Separately I know learned they mean "thought" and "place". Maybe something like: "Whereupon you thought of a question, by all means please ask."
If someone can't understand what is written about on page 15 of A book, for example, that's literally the place where he/she can't understand or わからない`所`.
>>492 I think イギリス人 is lurking. He's just busy with his job. He said before he checks this thread before he goes to work in the morning so maybe he doesn't have enough time to post.
>>495 疑問に思う is a set phrase that literally means to wonder or to doubt, e.g.,
あなたが正しいかどうか疑問に思う means "I wonder if you're right," "I can't believe you," or something.
ところ sometimes means "point" minus "improtant/critical" as in "That's the point," where "the point" literally means 大事なところ. In this usage ところ is synonymous with 点 (てん).
So 疑問に思ったところ is 疑問に思った点, and, if you translate word-for-word, it'd be "anything you wonder/doubt/don't understand".
That's why it becomes "Feel free to ask us if you have any questions."
>>502 Really lol If I remember correctly, his English sentenses were stunning though I don't know the reason lies in the fact that he is a British. I couldn't have talked to him at that time because of a kind of fear. I want to read his sentenses again someday!!
I hate to spoil >>520 but.... I was just bored and trying to procrastinate some homework. I don't want to upload a photo but here's a video of an annoying lady doing pretty much the same thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C61fR3tGR5A
>>519 Oh yeah, you showed them the shirt to prove it.
>>517 Yes, it means gay, but it can be really offensive to gay people. So don't be like: "Oh, so you're a faggot! ^_^" to your gay friend.
>>518 Lol... umm... I guess I never did officially establish that huh? Here it is: I'm a woman / 女の人です.
BTW, I used to look like a girl when I was a teenager. If anything, everyone thought I was a she when they saw me. It took a whole year for the next door auntie to realize I was a he when our family moved to our new house when I was 16. I self-loathed being literally cute then. I'm pretty knowlegeable about how Japanese middle age men grope girls on a train lol... ;_;
Now it'd be strange for women my age to have no makeup on, so I'm just a gay-looking guy.
I guess this has something to do with the reason why my wife chose me; she loves yaoi doujins. The very fist words she said to me when we first met was "Wow, you have a boyfriend, don't you?"
>>545 I'm sure you have. You just didnt realise. Guess ignorance is a blessing.
>>539 Haha dont try to make it sound like Obama is against gay couples to EXIST. He is too left wing for that. He does support gay rights. Oh man Japanese homophobia is too lame. Only looserish skins and born-again christians fear gays here.
>>550 Not everyone is very keen in detecting flaming gay qualities in latent homosexuals. However, I found some gay indicators in your post, I'd bet you thought no one could.
>>549 Sparky, I guess you shouldn't have been on *chans too long. I know I'm saying something rude, but reading your posts, I kind of understand why they officially ban underage fags.
To be honest, you don't look very smart. I'm saying this because I like you. I like your sparkling persnality. So please don't behave like a retard spamming around on the internet.
This thread isn't one of those shitty threads in the internet cesspool aka 4chan/7chan/whatever crap.
>>559 I'm pretty sure his initial draft was really short. You need only three words: Fuck off, retard. But he knows better than that, hence the homosexual post.
May I ask a question about English pronunciation again? This time it really matters to my listening skills (and, I think, to many Japanese in this thread too), so I'm glad if native speakers and advanced learners in here could help me.
The problem is about the difference between "by herself" and "by yourself." I often hear native speakers drop the "h" in "herself" (or maybe that's the standard pronunciation) and "by herself" becomes very close to or the same as "by yourself." To me, these two phrases sound pretty much the same.
Are the pronounciations of the two phrases exactly the same?
When I pronounce "by herself" myself, my mouth naturally make a soft "y" while moving to "her," so it becomes bai-*er-self, where * is the soft "y." Of course, "by yourself" is bai-yer-self unless I put an emphasis on "your" (in which case it becomes bai-yoor-self). So I guess they're slightly different, thought to my non-native ear they often sound the same.
What do you think of the difference in pronounciation between "by herself" and "by yourself"?
>>573 I guess they can sound pretty similar, but for me when I say the two I can tell there is aspiration in "by herself" To me, "by yourself" can sound a lot like "buyer self" while "by herself" has a bit more pause because of aspiration with the 'h'.
>>574 Thank you for your quick reply. That was really helpful.
When I read the post, I was like, "Ah, that's the aspiration!" I may be able to distinguish the two if I really concentrate on sounds, which is unfeasible in real conversation. My ears still don't want to hear subtle differences in English!
I think my pronunciation of the two phrases needs work.
Thank you, Crystal. You're always helpful!
...buyer self, by herself, buyer self, by herself, by yooor, argh!
Hmm... I said, "You're always helpful!" in >>575, but does it sound natural?
I guess I haven't heard the phrase said by native speakers. Possibly once or twice? I don't know. I was trying to reply as soon as possible because Crystal answered to me so quickly (actually it took less than 10 minutes till I got the answer), so I didn't think twice before posting it.
Is it awkward or foreign? What would you say if you were in my shoes?
...I forgot to delete "to" in line 3 of >>576. It should be "Crystal answered my question," "Crystal replied to me," or the like.
By the way, I can't be sure if the last line should be "Was it awkward..." or "Is it awsward..." Which do you think is better? I'd like to hear other posters' opinions.
>>576 Read out a part of Obama's inauguration speech and record it. Upload the file so that we can listen to it. Maybe some native English speakers will correct your pronunciatiuon. Floor is yours. Good luck!
back in 1997 i used a compy for the 1st time back in 2007 i received owner ship of compy4 back in 1998 was the worst time of my life back in 2008 was the worst time of my life (even worse then the previous) back in 1999 was the beginning of the best time of my life in USA in 2009 i predict that the best time of my life in USA.
>>538 Are you Mayo Kawasaki? I'm half serious.. The line your wife said was exactly the same as カイヤ Caiya said to Kawasaki for the first meet. Moreover Kawasaki is supposed to have a good command of English as well because he played in a broadway musical and his wife is American.
It's also suprising to know there is a man leading normal and healty lifestyle. I thought guy with good English skill are all single, mostly neat. One with good English skill admitted he was neat. I'm confused.
>>594 Different person? It's also surprising that the man who has kept on writing robotin*** wrote decent long English sentences. Are you robotin mania?
>>523 In my opinion faggot mainly means either a man who thinks himself as male and loves male or a man who thinks himself as female and loves male. I guess people who take fancy to girly boy is not faggot in strict sense. They essentially love woman. A guy on youtube is a substitute for woman. Some non-faggots can go as far as to sleep with youtube"lady". Non-faggots can be faggot but they love woman in the first place.
Man who loves a little girly but absolute boy is true-blue faggot, I guess. http://www.fmsetagaya.co.jp/otokonokoonnanoko.jpg http://ex-img.com/EKA-11/Jun08373.JPG Kawasaki Mayo Journey Kitagawa won't be turned on by youtubelady. Kitagawa loves girly boy but detests feminity.. It's pretty compicated mindset. Man who can sleep with drag queen can be called faggot too. But again he is not faggot in strict sense. More precisely he is bi-sexual. I suspect those who have such fetishism don't like too extreme girly boy like youtubelady.
a Man with knot on his head? He looks kind of nerdy and not beyond my expectation. Isn't he chubby a little? I didn't particulary think he was ugly. He is cute in a way. His face is both cute and nerdy.
>>617 Hi. Nice to see you. You came here from the link in 4chan? There seems to be no questions left unanswered so far here, I think. http://academy6.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/english/1218442480/l50 The link above takes you to Q&A thread, too. Just reading Q&A might be fun and you can get to know how the thread works.
It looks like I only missed about half a dozen worthwhile posts since I was last here. Interesting. How much of the thread has been taking up with discussions of who is whom, now? Does it really matter? That's why you guys aren't using names.
>>626 Have you ever considered not being a tripfag sparky? It might help you not be hated so much. Actually never mind, everyone knows you from your bastardization of the English language. Eh, chin up I guess.
I found out today that my school doesn't block 2ch (4chan and 2ch.ru are) on the computers, but when I tried to make a post it wouldn't let me. I think it might have to do with cookies...
>>643 Go back to /g/ and you'll see how many of them are waiting for you to come. Don't slack off in a thread like this. /b/ is the place you are most welcome.
inorder for me to get un bann ALL OF YOU MUST WORK TOGETHER AND TELL THE MODS THAT I DID NOT SPAMM BUT AN ASSHOLE SPAMMED MY THREADS BANNED THAT SPAMMER
>>654 Why don't you reset your rooter or use proxy then. Been b& dozens of times on 4chan for various reasons. Got permab& from all boards several times.
No problem at all. I made the sparky thread on /g/ last night.
>>659 You got me started! I saw you writing in Japanese several times before, but I didn't expect to read Japanese this time. And it's perfect. Absolutely flawless. I'm impressed. Keep it up!
>>663 Yes, except to be honest, you aren't doing so well at the "don't be dumb" part. You hardly ever say anything relevant, Sparky. Random quotes from other sites, "Hey look at my UI," I use windows ME, etc. etc. etc. Really, Sparky. We don't give a damn.
>>673 Take your router, unplug it, and cover the ports with duct tape. Put the whole thing in a brown paper bag, and wrap that THOROUGHLY in more duct tape. Write your name on the outside. Take it to your local airport/buss depot/theme park/police station and leave it under a bench.
>>673 BY RESETTING YOUR ROUTER! OR GET SOME PROXY!
I don't know what kind of internet connection you have in your room, so I can't help how you change your ip by resetting your router, but you can easily find some proxies that work on 4chan. Have you ever heard of "Good luck. I'm behind 7 proxies."?
Google it. I'd say resetting your router is the better option though.
oh man, it's almost 700. I can't catch up because you guys post so many. anyway, how do you pronouce "dudettes" in >>556 this is the word I've never seen so I'm so curious

>>695 If you can't figure it out, unpulg every code.
>>695 The power cable. Actually, it will probably help if you unplug both the modem and router, then plug them back. When you're putting the power cords back in, do the modem first.
If it still doesn't work, try turning off any computers on the network, then unplugging the modem and router. Wait a couple mintues, then plug the modem back in, then the router. Then you should be able to turn the computers back on.
Sparky : (Under his breath) everyone here is idiot. They are all under control of mine. It's quite easy. I can take advantage of these mentally challenged wimplings for ever. I'm the winner.
Sparky could stay here, I kind of got used to his posting style, but he just has to learn how to lower his massive consecutive posts to the point where the majority of us see him not that annoying. I guess he's just desperate in getting attention to befriend posters in here, not to troll us (on purpose). It's all up to you, Sparky.
>>709 oh, really? now I looked up "dudettes", and it wasn't in my dictionray. mmm, I know my dictionary is kind of out-of-date.. maybe I should buy a new one (or better one?).
>>718 Then participate in conversations, and stop posting random things. It also helps if you respond when people are talking to you. Somebody once said that communicating with you is less effective than talking to a dog or cat. For the most part, that's true. You've been doing better today, but you still aren't keeping up. Try to contribute meaningfully to the conversation that's happening. Before you click "Post" Think to yourself, "Is this a comment I haven't made before? Is it related to what they're talking about? If not, will people find this interesting and want to discuss it more?" If you have the slightest idea that the post doesn't meet these criteria, delete it and jsut keep watching what others say for a while.
>>723 Read what jook said in >>721. If you don't understand him, it might be better for you to cut off the internet connection and go see a mental doctor and treat your mental disorder.
>>721 These guides help everyone, actually. But, the rest of us are already doing it, I think. Excpet maybe the Korea spammer. Speaking of which, I haven't seen him in a couple days.
>720 "Dudette" is a word, but it's not a very common or normal word. It's sort of..."quirky."
>>To my eyes, 4chan doesn't seem to put a strict code of action on users, though. In /b/ people are allowed to act like fools, but on other boards more decorum is required.
>>731 Sparky, I hate to say this, but even if jook hit the nail on the head about your problem and you don't want to listen to his opinion, you should do so. You should respond to him concerning what you think about his opinon and what you'll do before making self-centered excuses like I'm unsocial.. You say people ignore you, but it's YOU that ignore kind and nice responses to you. Why do you skip them?
I don't feel sparkly's posts annoying. Rather interesting for me. But since some people here don't seem to like that kind of post, I reccomend you write that kind of comment less than ever.
Read >>721 again please, especially these two lines : >Is it related to what they're talking about? >If not, will people find this interesting and want to discuss it more?" You can communicate better if you think twice before posting.
>>744 Seriously, stop bullying sparky. Don't you think that's the cause of his quirkiness? He's been acting weirdly, and I know it was really annoying to the majory of us. But now he starts opening his mind and talking about himself.
I think he's taking every comment personally. I'm sure many of us can take any abuse on 2ch or other anonymous boards. But, it doesn't seem he can.
Sparky, don't forget the lecture >>721. And if you can make it, you'll be loved. After all, I like your sparkiness. But if you don't think you can't, I recommend you avoid anonymous boards. They are all cesspits on the internet, which is the shit hole of the real world. You might need a place where people are all nice. This is definitely not it.
Yeah... I find myself ignoring Sparky's posts almost as much as the Korean spammer. At least the korean spammer puts some thought into his posts. Also, a lot of the time the Korean spammer's English is a better example than Sparky's :P Sparky I would suggest you not post any more about your chatroom or windows ME, cause those are getting way repetitive. Maybe you could help with English a little more? You seem to have some free time, maybe you could teach the thread about an English idiom that is uncommon. I also always ignore things written in all caps.
>>720 Wow, I didn't mean to spark(no pun intended) such heated debate. "Dudettes" is slang, most definitely not a real word (i.e. don't buy a new dictionary). It was my attempt to be politically correct by addressing both males and females. Obviously, by using slang I wasn't trying to be so formal about it. Dudette is pretty quirky(>>734), I don't see/hear it used much.
Ah, if I'm mistaken, I'll be sorry, but the post must have been written to someone other than myself, coz it's a bit wierd to think 10 liners written just within a minute and a half..
Logically, at the beggining of the coversation, someone needs to say somethig which isn't related to what was goiog on before. Change topics! Topics which are easy to respons are better though.
>>661>>667 Thanks, but it actually took some effort to write because I wanted to make sure it was correct. It's very simple Japanese though; I shouldn't have been so paranoid.
I don't think I'm qualified to participate, but does 4chan has something do with Lucky Star? Lucky Star is a Japanese anime, isn't it. That's all I know about it, though. lol
>>754 >I think he's taking every comment personally. I'm sure many of us can take any abuse on 2ch or other anonymous boards. But, it doesn't seem he can.
this is true The Internets is Serious Buissness (Especially non American servers)
>>752 That's what I thought! haha No, I'm not going to buy new one. I use my dictionary and online dictionaries. Online dictionaries are so useful because these cover my dictionary's drawbacks with many details
>>779 I actually heard that song first, which then made me curious about the anime. That song has been stuck in my head for at least a month now. I don't mind it :P
After seeing these comments, maybe I'll try to add Lucky Star to my list of anime ot watch. But I'm already in the middle of Zetsubou Sensei, Gintama, Full Metal Panic, Clannad, One Piece, Naruto, and Golden Boy.
...wow, I didn't realize I was doing so many at once. I haven't seen most in a while though.
>>785 If you're not into moeblobs, I recommend finish those popular shows first. If you like Clannad, I guess you may have better chance of enjoying Lucky Star.
Anyway, don't call me pedo after trying Lucky Star just because characters look like little kids. I know, I know. But technically they're not lolis.
>>781 I can't say anything about writing skill because I don't reach the level yet. BTW, it is advisable for you to watch Hunter×2 beside those anime. lol
>>800 Which is odd, considering I come from 4chan. So what are we talking about in here?
>>799 What? You don't remember the threads you started a while back? Also... there was a thread today in /g/ about you. Some people went so far as to say that it isn't /g/ without sparky4. When are you going back?
/g/ is responsible for the spoiled kid. You should have taken a precautious action before exporting him. And it seems like many of you miss him big time. Isn't it time he came back here and appologize? I believe /g/ has the guts to forgive/enjoy him.
----------
I can see what would happen if sparky came back to /g/, though I've only visited the board like 3-4 times.
>>808 I'm not sure if you mean that in a good or bad way, but it doesn't matter to me as I was just here to relay the message. Although, I also found this board has nice people in it, so I may stay.
>>805 >So what are we talking about in here? Made a sparky thread on /g/, was spouting some hypocritic bullshit in here like >>745, been talking about Lucky Star, which is definitely not a soft loli porn. I think we discussed some other things too, but don't quite remember what they were.
>>803 >>806 O_________________O So..... beutiful...................................... ohh shit you people are extreamly advanced the roads are perfect building are shieny like mirrors >>805 ummm mods are fags desktop thread? seriously tell all of /g/ to tell the mods this i learned my lession from 2ch they tought me well please unb& sparky4 OR YOU WILL HAVE TO BAN US ALL!
>>811 Well, the first topic sounds like one thats best to avoid. Secondly, Lucky Star, while entertaining, is not soft loli porn. Not that a soft loli porn offspring wouldn't we welcomed.
>>812 Well yes, that is the point of 4chan. Serious, friendly threads in 4chan are both awkward and uncommon. In otherwords, 4chan is entertaining in a sense.
>>809 Yeah, I actually buy DVDs of my favortie series. I accuse buyfags with all my might or give them a lecture how improtant to support the anime industry by pony up money when I was in a trolling mode on /a/.
>>822 Oh, most people on 4chan enjoy anime. As for me, I enjoy UC Gundam, shows about nothing such as Lucky Star. I also watch anything with lolis. Ichigo Mashimaro is one of my favorites; never has an anime made me smile so much.
I've seen a bunch. Most were subtitled due to America not getting any good anime, and because I can't understand Japanese (yet). Currently I'm busy with my final exams at my university, but over winter break I will get caught up on Toradora and Shugo Chara.
>>826 People in Japan use macs? I thought it was an American phenomena. I shouldn't even get started on macs though, if you have visited /g/ you would know why.
>>827 I like Ichigo Mashimaro too. I usually watch Englsih dubed anime, not subs or raws. I watch subs only when I could't get dubs, though American companies are really slow to release dubs. Off course, I watch dubs because they help improve my English; I learned more than half of my English from anime, dramas, cartoons and whatnot.
>I enjoy UC Gundam
I heard Gundam wasn't very popular in America. Is this true?
>>829 Mac are almost disappering in Japan. I just wanted something different from others. Well, I think mac is all right. It may not be better than windows or *nix, but it does the job an OS is supposed to do.
An anon on 4chan's /trv/ is asking for help on what gifts to give his host families in Japan. You can probably tell the first reply is mine, but maybe some Japanese people could add their suggestions? This is a really puzzling aspect of Japanese culture for Westerners so I'm sure he would appreciate more help. http://zip.4chan.org/trv/res/85858.html
>>831 I was about to ask why you watch dubs, as they tend to be incorrect, and hard to find... at least in my experience. But for the sake of learning english, I suppose that makes sense.
Also, yes it's correct that Gundam isn't very popular in America. America isn't that big on anime, and the people who do watch anime usually watch ones that I wouldn't consider worthwhile. Gundam Wing was the first one brought over, and the first one that I was introduced to. I thought it was awesome, because I was only 10. They later started to release UC Gundam, but it didn't catch on because it seems the American anime viewers want to see action and drama for the whole 24 minutes an anime is on, rather than having a plot. So I got to see a few UC Gundam in English, and I thought that they were dubbed correctly. However I am now left to watch ZZ and Victory in subtitles, as I did with Turn A.
As for macs, they are okay. In America the battle over Mac and Windows is complicated, irrational, and something that I shouldn't be getting into.
>>832 I haven't seen Strike Witches, but I've heard of it. Since you mentioned it with the word loli, I'll be sure to watch it.
>>834 I'll check that thread later. It doesn't seem my brain is working properly. Lot's of grammar erros, lots of typos...
>>835 Wow, you know much about Gundam. I'm not into Gundam series, but I know many Japanese, otaku or not, like/used to watch Gundam. Probably they're too different than american cartoons.
As for Strike Witches, I think you can enjoy it if you are the kind of person who can fap to lolis. They don't wear pants or skirts for no apparent reason. It's like every single moment showing main characters is sort of fanservice. That's insane.
Korean guys are horribly popular among girls all over the world thanks to Korean Wave. I hear white girls are quite mesmerized with Korean guys unconditionally. They say Korean guys are masculine and sturdy, cool and sexy. I do understand what they mean because it's all true. Korean cultures are overwhelmingly influential now that every girl has set their eyes on visiting Korea someday. White girls talk a lot about Korean guys whenever they hang out with their friends searching for their Mr perfect. They know the world would become collorless without Korean guys. That's quite true. No matter how hard they try, they can't get out of the idea that they will catch a Korean guy as a husband. When I realised this, I feel really content. Korean guys are welcome everywhere they go. I'm proud of it. :)
>>837 >I'll probably like it. Then, most likely it'd be really good anime for you. Lolis adide, it was the first show by Gonzo that broadcast simultaneously in Japan and the U.S., i.e., official subs were uploaded on the day (maybe at the exact same time) it was aired in Japan, if I remember correctly.
I think I should take a nap now. Thanks, we had a nice talk today. Cheers.
Korean high-tech products, such as cars and cellphones and other devices, are selling well in America. As a matter of fact, you can't find even a person who doesn't know about Samsung, Hyundai, and LG. According to the recent report, people all around the world think of Korea as the hub of high-tech business. The said 3 companies are considered the best of the best all over the world. I think this is part of the reasons why white girls are interested in Korean guys that much. Their home appliances are made in Korea. No wonder they are hooked with Korean guys. I'm proud of it. :)
>>834 I posted 4ch just now for the first time. My comment; >>85858 If I were the member of the host family, I would be happy if you bring a traditional American good to us.
I don't know 4ch well, so I couldn't know if I updated successfully, can you find out my comment?
>>838 >I hear white girls are quite mesmerized with Korean guys unconditionally. Wait, what? If you are speaking of American/European white girls, you can forget about that. White woman seem to like white men best, and sometimes even black men, which I don't understand.
>>839 Interesting about the subtitle deal. I'll check it out later. See you.
>>840 You seem ignorant. The popularity of K guys are sweeping. Ask girls if they love Korean guys. The answer will be yes of course. Anyway, you're lucky. You've finally had a chance to get to know how popular Korean guys are among girls! You should be ashamed of yourself like why didn't I know that?
>>842 It is there. In the future you can write "noko" in the email field of your message, and when posted it will redirect you back to your posting. Does that also work here?
>>843 Are you talking about the 20th century? We live in the 21st century. Of course, a lot of white girls say Korean guys are hot and cute. You can check if that's true on youtube. Many white girls are intrigued in Korean guys. I'm proud of it. :)
>>848 The only white European/American girls posting on youtube are the stupid ones, I wouldn't trust them. You also have another problem, there aren't many Koreans in any of the states I have been to. If you want a nice white girl you better come to America quickly, and if you think they like Koreans so much then you will have it easy.
>>850 Nope, many Korean students are studying in America. And we are quite welcome anytime, anywhere in America. I think it's because our products are accepted there. Many American girls are familiar with Korean guys now. Many of them prefer to go out with Korean guys since Korean guys look good and are as sharp as a tack. Our presence is growing bigger in America. So it's natural white girls easily fall in love with Korean boys. I hope you have a chance of meeting a Korean guy in person. Even if you are male, I'd say you'll change your sexicial preference for him. lol I don't know if your offer will be refused or not. It's all up to you. Anyway, Korean guys are popular among girls around the world, which is quite true. I'm really proud of it. :)
Really don't think most American's even know LG and Hyundai are from Korea, and the ones that do are guys... Cars, TVs and technology really don't seem to appeal to women that much. I speak from experience. Going to a tech school where only a third of the population is woman. Most of the girls I know tend to go for just your standard wonder bread guy.
>>852 >And we are quite welcome anytime, anywhere in America. Everyone is!
I had about 4 Korean girls at my school, but it was a private high school. I have never seen a Korean in a public school, but I think there are some at my University.
>Even if you are male, I'd say you'll change your sexicial preference for him. Wait a second... just what is going on? Lolis only, no men. You can take all of our worthless white women, and I will take your lolis.
Either way I think you are overreacting on this whole Korean/American thing... I say this because I live in America and I don't see any of this happening.
>>854 Not to worry. It's just because of your lack of the knowlege. As I said, the worldwide report says Korea reminds people all around the world of Samsung, LG, and Hyundai. The companies are like key words. Plus, not only are Korean guys excelent at high-tech industries, they also look quite good. Brains and brawn - these two elements make girls think of Korean guys as hard to get. They adore Korean guys a lot. I'm proud of it.
>>858 I think you meant "Are you a pedophile?" >>859 Well.. I suppose. I doubt he truely believes Koreans are superior though, otherwise why would he feel the need to spam so much and say so so often? It's not a matter of belief really... it is just pointless regardless. You just give him more things to talk about by arguing, see >>860?
>>859 Let's face it. I base my points on the objective report. Korean guys got the first prize on the worldly conducted exams, which is why it's safe to say Korean guys are the most educated in the world. And the popularity of Korean guys has been skyrocketing accordingly. No wonder girls all around the world pay respect to Korean guys and respect leads to love. One thing leads to another, right? We are like at the top of the world now. The world respects Korea now. If you don't, then you should be ashamed of yourself. You can't live a day without Korean products. Of that I'm sure.
New topic: So here's something that is often passed around on the internet, so many of you have likely seen it before. I was curious to know whether you non-native speakers can read it. My friend from Japan could, and it surprised me mostly just because I can't do the same thing in Japanese at all. So anyhow, here it is:
I cnduo't bvleiee taht I culod aulaclty uesdtannrd waht I was rdnaieg. Unisg the icndeblire pweor of the hmuan mnid, aocdcrnig to rseecrah at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mttaer in waht oderr the lterets in a wrod are, the olny irpoamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rhgit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it whoutit a pboerlm. Tihs is bucseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey ltteer by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Aaznmig, huh? Yaeh and I awlyas tghhuot slelinpg was ipmorantt! See if yuor fdreins can raed tihs too.
>>865 Japan isn't different than America on the fact that we both hate pedophiles, it's me who is different, for my humor is of bad taste. Do I like children? Of course, who doesn't? Would I harm one? No, and I wouldn't want to meet the person who does. This is just to be expected out of someone from 4chan, we have dirty humor. It probably isn't a place you would want to visit, I think.
>>849 Another cool image of English imageboards is this: http://plus4chan.org/boards/n/ If you click on images, it loads in the same window. I think it's pretty cool.
>>839 >official subs were uploaded on the day (maybe at the exact same time) it was aired in Japan, if I remember correctly. Not just the same day, the same hour. It was kind of funny, airing at 2 AM in Japan and 2 PM where I live, lol.
>>861 What are you talking about? You don't say you don't know Korean guys are off-the-chart smart? You need to admit to it now. We're contributing to the development of the high-tech business even in America. Without Korea, America would've been ten years behind the time. I'm not joking. It's the truth. If any of you here is from America, please pay respect to Korea. Korean guys are known as white Asian. That's really true. Compared to the Yellow monkeys, Korean guys are expected to do better at everything. And I'm proud of it. :)
>>866 That is impressive! And here I thought you were simply posting an illiterate person wrote. I have also read that IT TAKES A LONGER TIME TO READ CAPITAL LETTERS, AS THE HUMAN BRAIN RECOGNIZES THE LETTER SIZE AND SHAPE FASTEST WHEN IN LOWER CASE. Furthermore, I have heard that serif font lettering, as on this board, makes it easier to read words than if they were sans-serif.
>>866 like that I couldn't believe that I could understand what I was readind. Using the increadible power of the human mind according at Cambridge University, it doesn't matter in what order the internet in a word are, the only important thing isn't that the first and last letter be in the same place.......
>>867 Ok I understood you are kidding. You can come to Japan without worring about. Sorry^^
>>870 Jap monkeys took as many Korean girls away and made them work as sex slaves. I do understand how brutal Japs are. And stop being pedophile. That's why many people all around the world hate Jap.
>>875 No worries, I wouldn't let anyone ruin my experience to a foreign country anyway... But while we are on the topic I've always wondered if English tourists are welcome in Japan? I hear that some countries are less friendly when they see a stranger.
>>866 Now that is amazing. I wonder though if context clues also help you read it. If the same words were given in a random order, instead of logical sentences, perhaps it would be more difficult to decipher them.
>>879 Ok, I want to answer your question immediately. But I have to go to class from now or I must be late definitely. So if you are here 5 or 6 hours later, I post my opinion. Ok, see you Captain Spicard, and Crystal.
The news said that Korean guys stole the hearts of all the girls on this planet due to Korean Wave. I was amazed to know how popular Korean guys were when I read the article somewhere online. And yes, now that the internet connects Korean guys to those girls, it's crystal clear that's the truth. Many girls are waiting in line to ask out Korean guys on the internet. Probably because Korean guys are good looking. It can't be helped. Korean guys are busy talking to girl all over the world.
These words are unrelated and not in a sentence and are a bit longer or less common than the others. Can you read them? cdoeriotnae opiymlc fsinhig siaecpl fiaansttc siplvuaerte
>>886 That's okay, I must sleep now. I have to wake up in 5 hours, early, to study for my last exam. Then I'm free from University for a month, hurray for getting to go home to New York and its snow!
>>879 I can only cite my personal experience but I had no problems and everyone was friendly to me. Some foreigners mention racism but it's not overt or violent, more like ignorance. That's the short version and I can explain maybe a bit more but I'm busy studying for a Japanese test tomorrow. 35 vocabulary words and 31 kanji...
>>891 Coordinate, Olympic, Fishing, Special, Fantastic, and something else. It took about 5 seconds to see each, and as English is my only language, it may take longer for others. Those longer/less common words do not work so well. Is the trick that because they are long/uncommon are brain does not prioritize them?
>>892 That's a good idea... I have homework to do but I'm really tired. Maybe I should sleep and set my alarm for waking up early. Then again, I do have a bad habit of pressing the snooze button one too many times... hmm... >>896 Probably, the last one was superlative. It was much faster reading the sentences wasn't it?

Almost all of the people around the world, especially girls, are mesmerized with Korean guys and Korean high-tech gadgets. Those who can't admit the truth are narrow-minded and racially discriminate. I think they are all idiots.
I really should sleep... but >>899 Gee sparky, if it is really that bad just don't worry about it so much. Don't visit 4chan unless you can learn to not take things personally, and don't worry about 2ch. People seem nice here. Things will be fine, as long as you can go along with the crowd for the moment, or just completely ignore that the 'crowd' exists.
>>899 Sparky why do you keep threatening physical harm to yourself and suicide? I know why. You want attention, and you want people to care about you. All you ever talk about is what interests you and about yourself. If you want us to care about you, you need to show interest in the topics that we show interest in here and stop bringing up the same things you always bring up. This thread isn't called "Sparky's brag board" or "Chat about Sparky" it's called "Chat in English" The reason you can't find a home on the internet is because the internet does not want to constantly hear about you. Maybe you should create a blog for yourself.

>>899 If you're serious about the suicide thing, here's a link for you to read. http://www.metanoia.org/suicide/ If you aren't looking for that, then I'm sorry but I'm not going to baby you and tell you how great you are, I don't know you, so really it is meaningless.
>>866 Is there any other order-messed up sentences like this one? I love it. lol Seemngly, it doesn't look like English sentences at a glance, until you try hard to change the order of the words. It's fun.
Do you guys have interest in the Japanese version of the like? No kanji included.

my life from the past is repeating itself do you like DOS? C:\> i do!
>>910 I don't think I have read enough Japanese or learned enough vocab to read Japanese out of order. You should try to make one though, because then we could see at least if Japanese kana are read in the same way the English alphabet is (with proficient readers). It would be interesting to know.
>>913 You know another famous tricky sentences like that?
>>914 Ok. Here comes ははははははははのははははははとわらった。 It's not the change of the word order, but that's what I have run into a while ago. But as for me, I didn't understand the exact meaning of the sentence. And when I checked what it means, I was like "ohhhhhhh, is that the answer!". lol
>>917 I'm sure some of those ha are particles that are pronounced 'wa' but beyond that I have no clue! ... lol ... can you or someone else explain the separation of words and what the sentence means? is 母 in there somewhere? lol
The meaning of the sentence, in English, would be like this : Mother laughed," hahaha", and mother's mother "hahahaha".
The confusing point is, "haha" means mother in Japanese. At the same time, however "hahaha" and "hahahaha" mean how to make sounds of laughter (no different than in English, right?)
That's why it'd be tough/confusing even for Japanese speaker to understand the meaning at a glance. It's all because the sentence doesn't include kanji. With kanji used in the sentence, Japanese people could easily understand like at a glance. (So kanji is an essential part of understanding Japanese)
>>927 Sure. 母はハハハ、母の母はハハハハと笑った。 母はハハハ is the first sense group. So we usually put comma after it and then comes the second sense group like that. Note that ハハハ(ははは:hahaha) is sometimes written in katakana. It comes down to your preference, and I used katakana to express the laughter because you can easily detect the subject of the sense group; in this case, 母"は" and 母の母"は".
>>930 Hehehe, no problem. I think you are the living proof of how difficult/confusing the sentence is even for Japanese people and how important kanji is, too. (No offence, of course)
>>931 I know kanji is the most difficult part of the Japanese language, and actually I still have a hard time understanding some (rarely used) kanji even after I passed the pre 1st grade of the famous kanji exam in Japan. Anyway, good luck to you.
I was thinking that Sparky has ADHD but I didn't mention it. Surprised to read he confessed that and to know I was right. He even said that he has severe one.
No wonder he posts irrelevant posts. People with ADHD can't sense the atmosphere, read situations. That makes people think a person with ADHD is a wierd person. It's brain's disorder.
A person with ADHD can't communicate well with people for not being able to read what other people are thinking and gradually, gets isolated. His posts look like spams but I'm beginning to doubt he posts them for them to be spams. He just wants to post to make himself understood without realizing not many people are interested in his image board and how good his PC is.
Sparky should follow jook's advice but it might be difficult for him to behave in a good manner. And Sparky, you claim you are ignored or abused on the Internet but you are not alone. Everybody has experienced that. So don't take those abuses seriously. And you know you have ADHD, then you should try to control and dicipline yourself. I hear there are ways people with ADHD can live a life without frictions with other people. That might be tough to acquire the skills for good communication but you should try and I hope you can do it.
It's evening in Japan now, and usually the board would be starting it's most active time from now. I'm surprised how slow we're moving now though. Either way, It will probably be thread 122 by the time I come back tomorrow morning.
>>939 >I'm surprised how slow we're moving now though.
I think I know why. A few new native English speakers has come and posted long posts and Japanese English learners are kind of ovewhelmed by that and most of them can't read and understand those posts.
>>940 oh, that word appears twice, and should be one of each. The first line of >>939 should read like this: It's evening in Japan now, and usually the board would be starting its most active time from now.
>>938 You just have bullied and cursed on Sparky, swaggered trooper. That means you aren't qualified to preach that shit to him as long as you aren't a medical specialist. As time goes on, he might realize and take the internet as his comfortable place.
Hi there, sorry to interrupt, but I have a question for native English speakers here. I have a problem about this anime stuff. Please have a listen to this video clip:
I wonder what exactly Kyon (the male charater) says at 5:10 in the clip. To the best of my listening ability, he says like "Am I supposed to be your spokesperson or something?". Or do you think "Am I supposed to be her spokesperson" is correct?
The problem I have here is, I can't tell if the particle used at 5:10 is "your" or "her". Personally, based on the context in which he replies to the girl, it seems to me that "your" would be suitable. What do you think? I'm quite stuck now. I'd appreciate it if you could help me with this. Thanks.
I'like to give you old sayings to you people. Remove the tree from your own eye before you try to help someone else remove a very small splinter of wood from his eye. This means we should correct our own very large fault before we try to help someone else correct a very small one. Or, Don't criticize others so that you have worse faults yourself. You people are just miserable, just keep doing stupid thing everyday. I'm wondering if you people keep doing rest of your life.
Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And let's celebrate the comeback of the Internet-addicted housewife.
Here is the place to have a blast!!!!!
X And Let's pray for the rehabilitation of the Internet-addicted housewife.
O Let's celebrate the comeback of the Internet-addicted housewife.
Anyway, I wonder how many people out of the list in >>1 has still survived here. I haven't even seen some of them. Who is Deplomat's spoiled son or Yukorin admires ? Where they have gone ? I just wonder...
>>982 You're right. He lives in many places because of his father's job.
>>980 When there is almost no foreigners here, people often talked about Yukorin such as how sweet her farts smell. Maybe they got bored with chatting in English, quit studying English, or got out of NEET statu and are busy with their jobs.
>>961 Thank you for your take. This thread will come to an end soon, and I want to hear other's view. The new thread was built already so I think I'll move the qustion in the thread just to make sure.
>>962 Um, yes, I originally intended to ask for the help from native speakers, but I'm happy to hear Japanese posters' ideas as well. =)
