Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And Let's pray for the rehabilitation of the Internet-addicted housewife.
Here is the place to have a blast!!!!!
Wondering if the time posters here chat on Skype will come in the near future or it'll just end up with a pie in the sky.
I don't think there was an instruction saying you need to use a mouse pointer. Anyway, I'm not a game person who thinks playing a game is a kind of wate of time. If I had time to to do something, I'd rather read websites or blogs written in English to improve my English.
Sounds like I'm a boring man but I don't have any game consoles. No Wii, No PSP, No DS, No X-box, whatever. I haven't played any online games either.
But I heard there're some online games in which you can play with random foreginers and you cooperated with them to move on to next stages of the game. That can be useful to improve English, text chatting with them and all.
I heard that kind of game require much PC resourses and you need to have a good graphic card on board.
>>2 I think the game is offensive to most of Japanese because gamers have to kill salary men. It should be changed from killing salary men to Lehman Brothers' men.
>>10 I haven't taken it this time but I am going to take next.
>>11 Technically, though, you aren't murdering a salaryman. You're helping a salaryman commit suicide. ...Either way you slice it, I guess it's black humor, right?
>>14 What so abruptly? Are you a white nationalist? Popularity of Jeter is created by the jew media? Internet-addicted wife, 米人 said Jeter was special.
>>5 Not exactly sure what kind of games those would be. Maybe something like "World of Warcraft"? However, I'm pretty sure the game servers are localized for Asia, Europe, North America etc. so you wouldn't really play with foreigners.
>>34 Both Powell and Obama are black who are elite and look white. So it is natural that Powell endorses Obama. I can't believe right wing politicians are supporting Obama, though.
Obama's father is black but I heard he's not a descendent of slaves. I just thought some white people can't tolerate a decendent of slaves becoming president but can accept black president if his ancestors aren't slaves.
Do you think there would be any differences in American people's minds if his father were a decendent of slaves?
>>35 Sorry, Obama doesnt look white. Powell looks whiter but doesn't look white. I agree race had connection with Powell's endorsement. Powell was different from so-called neo-cons. So Powell can be be attracted to Democrats more easily than hawks like Bill Kristol. However MaCain is Powell's old friend and MaCain's policy is close to Powell's position. I think race was the decisive point.
>>36 I heard it was rather black people who didn't like Obama's bloodline. There seemes to be a conception that descencants of slaves are real Black brethren.
First, Hillary was more popular than Obama among Black people.
>>11 Ah, Leahman リーマン? I have just noticed your pun. I'm not sure アメリカ人 really understood your pun. Slaryman and Leahman man sounds similar. So He may have understood the word game on the spot. I'm not sure he knew the word リーマン(abbreviation of salaryman) which sounds exactly the same as Leahman(リーマン) in Japanese. To be serious I don't they they should be killed. At least they got punishment with their bankruptcy. Financial institutions who will be relieved should be punished somehow in exchange for infushion of public funds. CEOs who get away with golden parachute should return their money. They say salary was proportionate to their revenue. But revenue was padded by fictional supposition.
Boy, I couldn't catch the sound of "naacp" for the life of me. First I doubted my ear. Then I finally found out I was just dumb, not literally. "naacp" sounded like nwapc for example at any cost.
N(WA, which means double A) CP! hahahahaha.
In this case, is W pronouced as double(dAbl) or W(dAbju:)?
>>41 Dumb can be mute, or it can also mean stupid. The latter is purely casual in use. It's universal slang, if you will.
>>40 Not entirely sure what you're asking. NAACP is an acronym, though people generally say "n double a c p" instead of "n a a c p" since there are two of the letter 'a' right next to one another.
>>40 I should also mention that while that seems redundant due to the fact that saying "double" is longer than saying "a", this isn't the case for many English speakers. It seems more awkward to say "a a" than to say "double a". "Double a" transitions very easily for many of us, where as "a a" is choppy and takes more effort.
? So they say N double A CP. Not NWAPC? The pronunciations of W and Double is similar. That's another confusing point.
The letter "W" can be a substitute for double on the internet by dictionary. Even if in that case, Do you read "double" not "W"? For example, "W-login?".
plus poor drawings. those are not allowed to show in public. only above certain level people are allowed. YOU WILL NEVER BE ALLOWED! UNDERSTAND??? BITCH!
plus stupid writings. Those only prove your crapiness and foolishness. Above all, it all annoys many people. just take it off and NEVER WRITE OR SHOW YOUR UGLY OLD FACE AGAIN! UNDERSTAND?!!!
Lame...seriously lame. And you wonder why the world is deteriorating piece by piece. Attention seeking brats I swear...and I'm only 16 and am calling THEM brats. Well just her. Spoilt wh0re. ==" and he is lower than that.
Recently, I fell in love with the woman in the United States. I will bear feelings to think the other party to be important in mind in one- sided feelings for remembrance' sake.
Do you guys have email magazines come to your inbox?
In Japan, there are several major email magazine stands where you can choose email magazines you want to be delivered. The genrews are unlimitied ranging from relationships, PC skills, English learning, financing, child rearing, business. You name it they have it. Some are free some require you to pay a certain amount a month. Most of them is free.
You can even be a publisher of a email magazine. It's not difficult to become a publisher. Just following steps on these email magazine stands and you'll be a publisher. Their source of revenue is ads on each magazines.
I read several email magazines delivered. Do you have one stop mail magazine stands like this in your country? As far as I know, the most common way of getting email magazine is you subscribe on a particular website, not a email magazine stand.
>>61 You can do the same thing here, but it's generally only an online process. You sign up online, not in a real location. Though, I don't think it's particularly popular. Heck, most people seem to subscribe to real magazines online as well these days. I can't remember seeing any real magazine stands here, but I've heard they still exist in places like New York.
>>62 I'm talking about online process and emai magazine stands mean websites that publish emailmagazine.
For instance, if I start to publish email magazine, then I go to one of these email magazine website and sign up. The interval I write an email magazine can be deicided by me. My magazine tytle would be "How to read newspaper in English." First, nobody hasn't subscribed my magazine, but my email magazine would be featured as a new email magazine in the category of learning English, and English learners who spot my magazine and get interested in would subscribe my magazine. They are all online process.
>>61 I'm only familiar with email "newsletters" which just give a brief update on content, but I don't think many people use them. The trend now is to offer online content for free and use advertisements to make money. The New York Times has been doing this for awhile (www.nytimes.com) since newspapers have been losing money for a long time. Print media just isn't as popular anymore since the internet is so convenient (and free).
Question: Do most people read these email magazines on their cellphones or on their PC?
>>64 I know what you mean because I read NYT and CNN's "newsletter," too. This is my observation but these "newsletter's main focus is to lure subscribers to the original website, which is NYT.com or CNN.com while those "email magazine" I talked about is giving useful information without luring to any specific websites.
But if email magazine's writer owns business, then that can double as a marketing tool to lure subscribers to their websites.
In my case, I read email magazines on my PC but when you subscribe a email mgazine filling in your cell phone's address, they can be delivered to your cell phone, I guess. But I have email magazines delivered to hotmail and hotmail can be seen through cell phone, so I think I can read my email magazine with my cell phone, too.
Never stop speaking English, even if you aren't very good at it. The key is to have the guts to speak, I have observed that Japanese are very shy when it comes to English, because they may fear failure or mistakes. If this describes you accurately, then discard the notion that you must be perfect, you only need to get your point across. Once you can speak and be understood, then the correction can begin.
Our educational system of English is point deduction system. How to find erros in our grammers in English composition. So we end up in being very nervous and cautious not to make mistakes. keeping away from English is one solution. You don't fail if you don't use English.
Mandildo? Never knew there existed womandidldos lol. Anyway Im too busy watching the third presidential debate on the web now. Just get your sister to do it.
Btw is it just me...? The way McCain keeps smiling while Obama is saying stuff, its seriously bugging me. And the phrase he uses, oh god. `Obama wants to spread the wealth around.` Such a pathetic attempt to make him sound like a socialist. Woo so scary. Makes me so sick I just wana fart on his face.
>>97 Really? I mey be not accustomed such a tendency to tilt letters 90 degrees, and my skill of English is so low. It seems that I should be eliminated. BANG
I'm old bad boy.(lcl) Cat a class on the every day.(~w~) So,Japanese"BOUSOUZOKU".('3')~ because engrish since.(@_@)/ Already conpletion be born again.('o')b ha ha ha ha ha(~u~)
>>98 I have heard the phrase "Joe the plumber" far too much in the past week ' or two. Blech.
>>75-77 Agreed; nervous or not, they need to break that nervousness and keep on speaking. It's the only way they're going to learn the language properly! Remember folks - you're not on trial. It's not a test. Mistakes are fine. Making mistakes is the beginning of the road toward correcting them!
I say this, but I'm being a little hypocritical. I tend to get nervous speaking Japanese as well... though, interestingly enough, less so when it's in person. I'm more nervous when it's on the phone or the internet. I don't know why!
>>110 I also find that speaking Japanese in person is much more comfortable in person. I it's because gestures and facial expressions can aide you a lot when communicating, even if your Japanese is so-so. Obviously you don't have these tools on the phone/internet, except for maybe voice inflection.
I suppose female tend to use a lot more emoticon than male. XD made me think a chance of your being female. I know you don't use emoticon as much as keira for example.
So apparently there are plans for a 2nd Yamanote line Halloween party (I heard the one a few days ago was very small):
Time and Place Start Time: Friday, October 31, 2008 at 9:00pm End Time: Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 12:00am Location: Yamanote train line City/Town: Tokyo, Japan meet at Shibuya Station, Hachiko entrance, at 9:30. To be followed by Ageha, which is free for those in costume.
Maybe some 日本人 or expats could post a report here if they see the party? *I don't necessarily support the idea of this party, I just thought people would be interested to hear about it*
There they go again? I can't say anything about that party yet, but I think they shouldn't use public transporatatin Anyway, I'll just see what's going to happen at Yamanote on the internet lol. I expect that 2chers will upload some funny pix :)
These trashes are tring to provoke us again? Actually 外人 image in Japan is not bad. And they are treated good in media like commercial film. Happy smiling gaijin English teacheres so to speak. They want to destroy their psuedo image and restore real image? This time we should deploy policemen and repatriate them.
>>120 I don't use facebook but I signed up for Facebook a while ago. Seems like not so many people'll join this year's event. Even Japanese critisizing them wrote a few comments there.
I have a bad habit. When I'm concentrating on something, I tend to babble some kind of "word salad" without realizing I'm doing it. I'm glad I spend most of my time alone. It would be terrible if this happened in someone's company.
video from the Yamanote train party a few days ago: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=v-jNaKHVnTw Seems like it wasn't that big. Also, at about 5:20 in the video they talk to a 2ch person. I don't think they should have been mocking the 2ch guy so much, it'll only make him hate them even more (not that those partyers probably care). What kind of answer did they expect from the 2ch guy by mocking him? It would have been better if they got a conversation going, but I guess that would have ruined all the fun. Oh and it seems as if the Facebook event has been canceled.
>>133 So, the shameless shits held a party on the tran again. Can't stand watching them shout and behave as if they have thought the train is their houses.
And poliice protection? Give me a break. Obviousy the police must have been there no to protect the participants of halloween party but to monitor them because they could get too wild and could be nuisances.
Protect from what? There are no reasons to protect those garbages. And photographers treating them like celebrities? This is wrong, too. They just took a photo of them to get the message across that these shameless stupid foreigners are stupid and nuisances.
It's Japs who follow foreigners and grovel with grinnig face that irritates me more. Throw Haloween. It's nothing to do with japanese culuture. It was again imposition from above, which want to make profit from Haloween. Valentine Day has been promoted by confectionary makers.
Tokyo is trash. Trend is manipulated by corporate giants. Tokyo has been actually made up of lemmings of country folks. It doesn't matter where they are born. Essentially country folks.
>>135 Christmas is also a big one. It has been completely commercialized in the US. They start Christmas sales/promotions over a month in advance and basically pressure people to buy lots of things because "that's what they're supposed to do".
John Lennon was a clever guy. It's arguable whether he was more talented than McCartney. I suppose Lennon deliberately chose the songs which shoud be repeated in a certain time span and which handle the eternal questions like world peace. His songs remain in our ears : Happy Christmans and Imagine. I think Lennon wanted to surpass McCartney.
>>136 I've heard Walmart stopped using the words of Christmas Sale to avoid political friction. My memory is correct?
>>136 yeah. I know, American christmas is kind of crazy. People(mostly women?) go shopping in the midnight and there will be lots of people in the mall, right?? BUT, it sounds like japanese 1st day of the year. They go shopping around that day. so, both countries are crazy actually.
>>137 Yea that sounds right. Most places now call it a "Holiday Sale". Sorry this is off topic, but what would be the Japanese number counter for steps in a list? Ex: step 1 of a 料理法
I mean "cooking instruction by words" Image TV cooking program. They don't have to use numbers. They can instruct like まずfirst 次にnext 次にnext.
Japanese is also confused about how to count creatures. 匹ひきhiki is applicable to all creatures except human-beings. But 鳥が三匹いる is not good in writing. We should write 鳥が三羽いる. Pronunciation is also tiring. ippiki nihiki sannbiki yonnhiki gohiki roppiki We learne through repetition. There must be a rule. But I don't know.
In advanced japanese we might use like ジャップを10匹ぶっ殺した as an deragotory intention.
>>157 This is...sadly true! Most holidays these days have gone the way of over-commercialization, but it's to be expected.Get-togethers are fun, but I miss how most holidays have lost their meaning. :/
keira: I agree with you about holidays and their lost meanings. Christmas, for example, has become more of an excuse to go shopping for those shopaholics, and a painful & costly chore for others...
Kids receive mountains of toys and other junk, only to be played with for a very short while, then stashed away indefinitely. Adults receive stuff they will never take out of the closet after the holiday's over, and they are quietly brought over to a friend's garage sale one day. There is no real love or thoughts in those presents, but just another wrapped item so it appears that you are loved by someone... What happened to the religious stuff that was supposedly the main event?
I was shocked to see Japanese houses decorated with Christmas lights.. That was never seen in residencial buildings when I still lived there (17 years ago). But I hear people still line-up to buy KFC (!) that is unchanged since then. And of course, they will turn around and go to jinja on the New Year's Day.
Maybe it is one example of Japanese culture becoming more diverse - which maybe is a good thing in some ways, although I hate to see the traditional rituals slowly being replaced. To me, Christmas has practically no meaning, since I don't practice Christianity and don't believe in commercialism tied up with religious holidays.
Halloween is an anglo-cheltic tradition. So there is a strong connection between Halloween and the USA. Christmas is a commemoration day to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ needless to say.
There is a big gap between japan and the USA as for relavence to those festivals. I don't wanna see costume players who are brainwashed by the US and biased media and corporations and authorities in Japan.
Christmas is tolerable. It's too late. It's already rooted in our life. can't stop it. But not any more. Japanese brain-washed ugly kids in halloween fashion knocking on other's doors indiscrimanately?
Should we bring Rodney Peairs? It was tragic but good lesson for japanese. Many japanese think americans as friendly and cheerful. Peairs decorated his house with Haloween fashion. It's obvious that Peairs recognize hattori as trick-or-treat kid. But he killed hattori...
I am not a pumpkin carving Halloween fanatic, but don't mind giving out candies sometimes. I enjoy seeing neighbor's children dress up and have fun. When I see bigger kids, say over 12, I make them sing a song, or tell a joke before the treat gets handed out. But I don't care for those teenagers who come to my door smelling like ashtray. They can choose either to be like that, or stay as kids.
When we need to be concerned is when we can't let kids do the trick-or-treating anymore, because it's too scary to knock on people's doors.
>>160 Yes, A lot of the Christianity is leaving Christmas, but maybe that aspect isn't so bad. It's good that people of all religions can still celebrate the holidays and get together. I know some Atheists and Buddhists who still celebrate the holidays because they do it for the friendly atmosphere and parties that go with it. My friends are sort of starting to let go of the material side of Christmas and I think that's good. We value each other's company, not our gifts.
>>165 >>166 I personally believe that if you're 14 or older, you're too old to be trick or treating. I'm tired of old teenagers coming up to my door, not even in costume and asking for candy. D: I think "aren't you old enough to buy your own candy? Leave some for the little kids!" And there are parents too, who have their babies dressed up and in strollers. It's obvious the babies are too young to eat the candy, the mothers just want to eat it all for themselves! but I always give out candy regardless because I don't want anyone to throw eggs at my house or car. A neighbor down the street has toilet paper thrown in their trees almost every year. D:
Halloween is supposed to be scary! I usually wear some scary mask and put on an act for the kids whenever they come to my house. It's a lot of fun sometimes. Yea occasionally there are some older kids who are just mooching candy, but it's not such a big deal.
Today, at my college, someone set up a "haunted house". Of course, it wasn't really in a house. It was more like a "haunted room that is adjacent to the cafeteria". ...If I'm going to be that specific, I might as well mention that it obviously wasn't really haunted, either.
Anyway, I didn't go in. It didn't interest me. But, there was a long line that stretched all the way down the cafeteria. Many of the people in line were in costume. One girl was dressed up as Hatsune Miku.
It's not really important, but it's sort of interesting, so I thought I'd tell you.
Wahaha. High-teen is a japanese Engrish? High-teen is purported to mean late-teens. ハイティーン is a common phrase in Japan. Low teen is also. Early teen may be correct.
I agree with Sophie Marceau. Especially what's good abou this wide-nosed, ugly, off-key, mentally challenged man? http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=Tpadeu3tfyg&NR=1 His boss is boy lover and tahara was one of his favorites. Boss slept with tahara and helped him succeed in showbiz. Tahara got independant in the early 90s and without former boss's support he has become totally oblivion.
I hear "preteen" often times when I watch the news on TV, but I've never heard words "high-teen" or "low-teen" in the US. I didn't even know those words exist. Do you guys usually use those??? I don't.
Why is "teen" become plural form like "in his teens"?
learning the reason of miscommunication, >>170's answer gets more amusing. High teen, teens high on drugs. lol In japan too we say "ドラッグdrugでハイhighになる" "high on drug" though.
>>183 preteen = just before teenager early teens = younger teenagers late teens = older teenagers
>>185 Yes, it must end with teen. Some people call twelve year olds "tweens" I guess.
>>187 Teen can be a singular noun (someone who's age is 13-19) or plural noun (used to describe all the numbers from 13-19).
I learned to say "バスで学校にいく"(go to school by bus) in my Japanese class, so I find it hilarious you can use the same sentence structure to say "high on drugs" (or literally "become high by/from drugs").
>>182 No, I'm Japanese. I live in the US though. I was just curious about those words because japanese people around me don't use those. Also, I looked up the dictionary, and found those words there, but you guys usually use "十代", eh? Interesting.
ドラッグdrugでハイhighになる I guess many japanese may translate "で" into "with" or "by" in English like "high by drug(singular form)" if they don't know the phrase. High by(with) drugs seems to be correct English too. But seems to be rarely used, I guess. Do you understand the reason?
>>190 not so long, and gotta go back to Japan next year...I'm so sad. I AM a native Japanese speaker! My Japanese skill is PERFECT, I guess lol. so, don't worry. and I know 真剣10代しゃべり場. I used to watch that show sometimes actually. ..So, you do use and hear those words in your life. I think that depends on your generation or something. Even if I didn't know those words, I would get what those mean hopefully. This kind of situation happens alot, you know. >>191 Conversation with my family in English? That could be good, but sounds silly. Personally, I don't want do that.
>>193 ? I use 10代 if necessary. It's not a special word. It's the same as 20代、30代、40代..... You have heard and seen 10代 on TV or TV program list on News paper? You know the word and meaning. You are not different from me.
I'm not 10代 but have many chances to see and read and hear and say 10代 living in Japan. ローティーン and ハイティーン may not be so common words. But at least most of japanese "know" what they mean.
Discrpepancy exists? I use know as just 知っているknowing the meaning of the word or able to understand the meaning of the word. I am not near the lifestyle of 10代, but I know the word 10代. That's all.
Obama is going to go down as one of the most persuasive speakers in history. Despite whether you disagree with some of his policies, I think everyone can acknowledge is a very person.
>>204 I agree, I've studied how speeches are written for class and Obama's speeches will no doubt be historic. >>205 Not like there isn't a sign that says 京橋駅 in the background, but hey let's pretend you're psychic =P. I'll pass on the youtube karaoke, thanks though lol.
Guess no one can figure out the band's name? I tried doing a google search of the lyrics but I couldn't do it very well in Japanese.
>>206 Hey, how could you tell I'm not psychic? You must have a psychic power by any chance. :p
I did a quick search, too based on the part of lylics but that was in vain. Even many amateur bands have their own websites or blogs but maybe the band don't put the lyrics on their website or they don't have a website in the first place.
Since I don't have a psychic power to know the band's name, and I'm a really nice man, I've just ask for help in Japanese Q&A site.
I asked for help in a forum, too, which is kind of like 2ch's sibling, (in fact there's a link to it on 2ch's top page.) categorized by region, area, town where you live. The below is a thread for people living in 京橋. http://kinki.machi.to/bbs/read.cgi/osaka/1223531532/
I doubt you can get information about the band both in the Q&A site and the thread but anyway I gave it a try.
Well since Election Day is coming up (November 4 this Tuesday, I'm voting) I thought it'd be interesting for everyone to take a look at the latest poll results: www.fivethirtyeight.com 538 = the number of electoral votes. A candidate must win at least 270 electoral votes to win. Each state is worth a certain amount of electoral votes depending on its population. For example, California is worth 55 votes and Hawaii is worth 4 votes. www.fivethirtyeight.com's creator was actually a baseball statistician and now he uses those statics skills to compile data from many polls to predict the 2008 election.
>>211 Whoops, I should proofread. "statics skills" should be "statistics skills" Also, I should mention that a state is won by a candidate if the majority of the population votes for him. If the state is won, all electoral votes are won by the candidate (Blue = Obama and Red = McCain projections).
>>213 Oh yea, I'm pretty sure people do. This graph is from a virtual and fake stock exchange where people "buy" stocks for either Obama or Mccain: http://iemweb.biz.uiowa.edu/graphs/Pres08_VS.png Blue = Obama, Red = McCain. Higher price corresponds to higher demand, so Obama is winning according to this "stock exchange".
America, the epicenter of the economic crisis, and a sinister and ugly Presidential election. Even so, America should do what it's supposed to do as the center of the world.
Economists at Wall Street pointed out that the Korean economy is infested with spectators. The Wall Street Journal says that even though multiple problems are seen at the same time in Korea, Korean high-ranking officers refuse financial support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Moreover, it's heard from various places that Korea has forgotten the lessons of the Asian currency crisis. That is absolutely ridiculous. Who triggered the crisis and spread it all over the world? Why are they that arrogant?
As far as IMF support is concerned, it is America who should begin to accept their aid. The only reason America hasn't gone bankrupt until now is because it can print as many dollar bills as they want. Without that ability, spectators would have gulped down the whole country already.
Aside from the burst of the American housing bubble and the root causes of speculation, there are more genuine American economic illnesses. Namely, the trade and budget deficit of America that have become monstrous. The more dollar bills America prints, the larger the budget deficit will be ballooning. Someday, America will be placing this enormous burden on the entire world. Even if that time comes, will Wall Street scold the country it has damaged, and still point their finger at the infestation of currency specters?
At the sight of the scene in Washington, the problematic politics America is carrying seem bigger than they have ever been. The intense and ugly election campaign season is heating up in America between Democrats and Republicans just like before, as if it were a divided nation. The Eastern and Western coastal regions side with Democratic Party, while inland regions favor the Republican Party. 70% of those making an annual salary of less than $35,000 support Obama's candidacy, while those making more than $50,000 per year tend to support McCain.
One of the people in http://kinki.machi.to/bbs/read.cgi/osaka/1223531532/ wrote back, "Judging from clothes of the audience, the video seems to have been shot Saturday afternoon." And he said he'll go to 京橋 next Saturday afternoon and when he's at it, and finds the band playing, he'll ask them their band name.
Actually, when did you film the band? Summer? Staurday afternoon? The more precise info you provide, the more info you might get from people in those threads.
>The Eastern and Western coastal regions side with Democratic Party, while inland regions >favor the Republican Party. 70% of those making an annual salary of less than $35,000 support >Obama's candidacy, while those making more than $50,000 per year tend to support McCain.
I understood that those making an annual salary of less than $35.000 are living in both the eastern and western coastal regions like CA, NY or whatever and they support Obama because of their salary.
My annual salary is less than 35,000 dollars. haha. Of course get it by yen. I live in Japan. By the way, excuse me ,but is "spectator" correct? Is it "speculator"? CDS and CDO are difficult problems.
>>237 One person there who can't access to the youtube link (maybe because he accesses to the thread with his cell phone) said that if they are Peruvian, then the band name is「ケルマット」. And then another poster replied that he thought so before clicking on the youtube link. Seems like a Peruvian band is often seen playing there.
Anyway, I told them it was filmed on Sunday, June , around noon.

Choose song titles at the top left, then you can watch them playing each song at live performance. The sound at the live conccert is electric and a bit different from that of street live performance, I guess.
>>241 >>242 Wow thanks a ton! Yup, it was definitely June 22nd. Haha, that's hilarious that it's from the same day. I get shivers watching those videos; it's like seeing the same memory from a different person's perspective. Thank you for all your efforts and all those links, I would have never been able to figure it out on my own. For all those that helped, here's a photo I took: http://bayimg.com/image/palbjaabm.jpg
Democrat Barack Obama leads Republican John McCain in six of eight key battleground states one day before the U.S. election, [ including the big prizes of Florida and Ohio ], [ according to a series of Reuters/Zogby polls [ released on Monday ] ]. Obama holds a 7-point edge over McCain among likely U.S. voters in a separate Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby national [ tracking ] poll, up 1 percentage point from Sunday. The telephone poll has a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points. Obama heads into Tuesday's voting in a comfortable position, with [ McCain struggling [ to overtake Obama's lead in every national opinion poll ] and [ to hold off his challenge in about a dozen states [ won by President George W. Bush in 2004 ] ].
Barack Obama came up a big winner in the presidential race in Dixville Notch and Hart's Location, N.H., [ where tradition of [ having [ the first Election Day ballots tallied ] lives on ]. Democrat Obama defeated Republican John McCain by a count of 15 to 6 in Dixville Notch, [ where a loud whoop accompanied the announcement in Tuesday's first minutes ]. The town of Hart's Location reported 17 votes for Obama, 10 for McCain and two for write-in Ron Paul. Independent Ralph Nader was on both towns' ballots but got no votes. "I'm not going to say [ I wasn't surprised ]," said Obama supporter Tanner Nelson Tillotson, [ whose name was drawn from a bowl [ to make him Dixville Notch's first voter ].
Obama has won President Elect with a current 333 electoral votes to McCain's 155 electoral votes. More are being counted, but you only need 270 to win.
The rally was amazing, there were at least 100,000 people in the park. Since I had a ticket I was in the main staging area, somewhere in the middle. It was actually very well organized and there were no problems at all. "Yes We Can"
It's not a dream that today this nation has rose up and lived out the true meaning of its creed, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
>>291 No. I hink they are too small in power and population. Japanese americans seem to conform with the enviroments rather than change the environments.
Conform to is more suitable words? Obama is pretty racially conscious and makes much of his heritage as well as appialing to other races. That's the thing japanese american lack of.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." Is this the words of Jefferson? But I think these words were aimed at each white and each christian. I heard left-wingers and right-wingers were accusing the glorification of jefferson's words because it's off the jefferson's real intention. Jeffeson was against slavery but he had slaves. He had a plan to repatriate all the slaves to Africa. Jefferson pitied african slaves but he owned slaves to pay back his debt. He pitied african slaves but it's from superior feelings. Jeffeson admitted blacks were inferior.
And many Americans today still think blacks are inferior. My own grand- mother voted against Obama solely because his skin color is black. I mean for gods sake, the man was raised by white guardians, has a white attitude, appearance, mannerisms... The guy came from poverty (born from a teenage mother and a negligent father), but he didn't come from the freaking ghetto.
The fact that the Republicans' scare tactics and propaganda campaigns (via Obama being hinted as a Muslim (and therefore a terrorist)) did not work this campaign is merely that people disapprove of Bush's presidency, not so much that they wanted a black president or thought his policies were so wonderful.
>>307 Could Hillary has won the election? I was not sure back then. But with this financial turmoil plus to the failure of wars aboroad, even Hillary must have gained the chance to win the election. Her hysteric and arrogant manner may have remined electrates of wall-street elited and put off them though. It's my feelings. Democrates nominees seem to have been arrogant and not freindly except Bill Clinton.
>>298 Because American politics - the electing stage anyway - is all about showmanship. It doesn't matter what the policies are as long as it looks good.
What? Obama was saying Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Native American Gay, Straight..... We are all together or something. But, Now gay people are rejected? lol
>>317 Right now it's each state's decision whether they want to allow gay marriage. It was legal in California but it was repealed. Honestly the Christian far right have way too much freakin' power.
>>320 Secular humanists now have way too much freakin' power everywhere in America, right? The Chrsitain far right have been just trying to take back what they have lost.
Graeco Roman wrestling looks very homosexual for some reason. Two muscular men in very tight and scanty clothes get really rough and sweaty with each other. What else could be gayer than this?
Looking at California county-by-county, it seems that the only counties to vote against Prop. 8 were the ones in the Bay Area.
I'm glad I live where I live. I may not have turned out so well, otherwise...
There is still some time before Prop. 8 goes into effect. Also, it isn't an ex post facto law, so it won't affect people who are already married. I expect a rush of weddings...
In that Obama isn't discendant of slaves, I wouldn't say his winning the election proves there are less prejudice against blacks.
Oprah Winfrey for president!!!!! First female slave discendant president! You don't have to remind me that she supports Obama. Slave discendant for President.
Do American people know how much their debt amounted to and China almost has the right to kill dollar value?
If China gives away American bonds, America will die soon.
I don't think other countries like Japan and England (both lend large money to America) would do such a thing, though. How can Obama get billions of dollars if dollar bills almost become worthless? No one would want worthless money?
Don't forget. America is supported by affiliates. Don't sell your friends to political enemies.
Yeah that strategy worked for the last war(s). The stupid war that they kinda started without any real plans, it's costing them $600 billion a YEAR at the moment. Such a waste that couldve been better spent on health care, education, and welfare system (and bigger bail-out plan lawl).
Unless they are really really really incredibly retarded (not good-looking), they wouldnt start another war.
But having said that, they have proven to the world that they just repeat the same mistakes over and over. So wth who knows.
>>334 Come on man, that's unsophisticated. Serious discussion is just fine.
...Though I haven't really followed much of what is going on with the elections myself. I am glad to see that the situation in America regarding black people is finally improving though.
>>303 I agree with you. I'm shy. I don't want to become American. By the way, I saw wikipedia and Japanese Americans seem to be about 1.2 million. A Mr. Norman Yoshio Mineta seems to worked as a cabinet minister. I expect women especially mixed bloods. Because they are lively, for example Takigawa Christel and Hikaru Utada. In Japan, mixed blood is very popular, for example Leah Dizon and Kaela Kimura, because of their good-looking.
Obama is from the east coast of Africa. Most african americans came from the west coast area. Races are different too. Western africans are frisky and musculer while Eastern africans are strong in enduarance like marathon. There is a conflict even in eastern africans. Obama's father is arabic negroid muslim and they are ruleing class in general to negroid inhabitants.
>>288 Yes, I'm an American. I'm neither republican nor democrat though; if anything, I'm a moderate. I didn't particularly like either of the primary candidates, but I disliked McCain more. As such, I was hoping for Obama to take the victory (and he did, by a landslide).
>>287 Yeah, but once the novelty wore off, it would suck again.
Btw, FL here.
---
Anyway, for those in here associating Obama with Proposition 8 banning gay marriage in California, you can stop now - the Presidential candidates (and Presidents themselves, for that matter) don't really have much say in State legislatures. Especially before they're even in office.
Proposition 8 was for California only, and was voted for or against by Californians only. Florida had a similar Proposition 2, which also passed. Considering both Florida and California went blue (especially California), this was a shock to quite a few people.
You don't want to expect too much from Obama. America is almost under control of China, no matter what. If Obama refuses to buy Chinese products, then America will be economically dead.
Obama is a protectionist. He will definitely reduce tax money for people, but increase it for company. And the world economy will get sluggish and surely go into recession. It seems that there's no other way to choose, though.
People say what change Obama mentioned means America as the superpower ends. Why are American people so enthusiastic? Anyway, don't complain if Obama changes America for the worse..
I hope America becomes peaceful even if it suffers from recession.
>>368 I don't believe so. Sure, Obama said America should make brand-new cars, not Japan nor Korea. But he seemed to forget that Toyota set up car factories in America and employed many American people: In other words, Toyota became an American company, so to say. If the would-be president bashed the Japanese company, both sides lose good oppotunities.
Well, I'm not sure, however, if Obama is so short-sighted that all foregine companies should be out from America.
>>370 What is GM for you? You have google and microsoft, Apple and so on. But something is missing. World wide manufactuaring company in the world. Can GE and Catapillar and Boeing substitute the lack of GM? Car society is typical of american life style. And GM represents it. Is it enough that you can drive a car regardless of the origin of car makers?
It's ironic that Japan is rather train based society.
Well, people wanted something new, and that's why Obama was elected. Whenever I see US presidential races, I feel Americans are too much effected by TV.
>>366 I think the reason why other countries lost their respect for America is because the Bush administration used our "superpower" status too much. Right after 9/11 the world supported us, but when Bush decided to use our power to fight a stupid war in Iraq and try to bully countries like Iran and North Korea, I think most of the world saw us as power hungry and arrogant. It'd be hard for Obama to make things worse when he is reversing many of Bush's failed policies.
>>368 You know what would be good for America? If the Japanese car companies opened factories here and replaced GM/Ford. Seriously, American cars are shit. My family owns 2 Japanese cars (a Nissan and an Infiniti).
>>367 I see what you mean. In fact, even though Obama said America can change, he's elected Biden as vice president and many other old faces as well.
But he was chosen because he promised he would protect national economy, and that's why he has to put regulation on buisiness. The problem is, where does he prepare big money to realize his promise. Personally, he would make many contries buy American Treasury Bonds.
The USA banned japan from creating aircraft after the war. Japan obeyed the order. so If GM failed, it would be a tie at least. Japan didn't order the USA to stop car manufacturing. In essence japanese car industries are very afraid or the failure of us car makers. They are afraid of retaliation. The US has the greatest military power to shut us.
>>375 You must be young. http://hexagon.inri.client.jp/img/japan_bashing.jpg There was a time like this. You seem to be close to republican as for free trading. Are you for the enhancement of nafta? Obama seems to be against it too.
>>375 As a Japanese, I pay respect for America and please don't think Bush's policy against North Korea is a failure. N.K still hasn't been threatening to America because they still didn't develop missiles which reaches America, but if it does, it will actually threaten America as it does Japan.
No matter how hard things are, America and Japan should keep good partners. One of the biggest reasons is that we have a lot in common - such as democratic nations, economy, and what..
>>381 That's right. And according to many newspapers, N.Korea has been spread nuke knowledge around the world behind the scene. We shouldn't overlook the problem.
There was a news that Israel Military attacked syrian nuculear factory which was allegedly built under the instruction of north korean engineers. It was absolutely against the treaty but America turned a blind eye to it and lifted north korea from the list of states sponsoring terrorism.
If GM collapses, how influence will Japan suffer? I guess maybe several Japanese regional banks will go bunkrupt. Because of CDS; Credit Default Swap.
Easily to say, it's the life insurance for corporation. When a company where you owned the credit go bunkrupt, if you have paid the premium of this CDS, you can collect this credit's insurance money. Scale of CDS market become more than 50 trillion.
Different from human being insurance, corporation's death causes a chain reaction. Therefore become tremendous money need. That's why AIG was saved by public funds. That's the reason of financial crisis and shrinking credit.
If GM collapses, all over the world companies that has GM's credit and dealing CDS suffer big loss. and maybe several Japanese regional banks have it.
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=AMQuk5B1ljY&feature=related Still good and natural. I think he is better than today's r & b japanese singers. I don't collect the name. Who was it? Teenage guy who posted on the youtube and became pro. The teenage guy tries so hard to be beyond his limited ability. sound unnatural.
I think nakanishi should use more techniques to show off his ability in place of shimizu shota.
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=-6APvGUV-ko Japanese Michael Jackson? He can match Nakanishi. I wish I had voice as good as him! How world around me became hopeful. I guess CD sales have strong connection with karaoke. Too good voice singer won't sell because we can't imitate.
Affiliate in a strict sense. So nissan is still Japanese company. Close to subsidiary but equity method must be applied. Nissan have renault stocks too. If my memory serves me correctly, nissan's earnigs or capital are bigger than that of Renault. There is a reverse phenomenon.
33.4% is not small,I think. 50% is enough but if Ford managed to bring executives to board of directors in Matsuda, Matsuda would be de-facto subsidiary. If 12% stockholders other than ford's agreed with Ford, Matsuda would be de-facto subsidiary too. Matsuda's presidents of former two or three had been americans, I guess. Ford's departure seems not necessarily good for Matsuda either. Matsuda wanted to use Ford's bases abroad to promote sales abroad.
So, the fact is that you don't know anything about an ally Japan, American babies.
Albright gave a light water reactor to DPRK. We've really suffered for what the states did for this decade and we will for some decades more.
But we've supported the states in Iraq and also on the sea. We had to make a low against our constitution which the states had forced us after WW2.
Nevertheless, the states didn't support us even to be a member of the UN security council.
You made an attack only on Iraq with your own ideas and interests but never on DPRK. Our requests are never promised and our problems are never solved in spite of our devotion.
Moreover, Democrats assert that the states must reconsider the allied countries. Soon US government will start talking about restrictions that will target mainly Japanese companies. That was what they have ever done saying "equality, redress, and protection".
What you wanna change on the earth? Shameless Americans.
>>405 I totally agree with you. Democrats is myth. Democrats are party of humanity, peace, equality. Myth. At least not for Japan. Republicans can be better. They are so self-evidently fool.
I don't get it that there are also rooted supports for republicans in FL. I have an image that Florida is a state of racially diversity, hispanic culture and liberal whites in swimsuits and Blacks who usually support Democrat. Florida has the same atmosphere of California, which is a bastion of Democrats. Is it my misconception? Catholic belief has something to do with republican popularity? Catholic people esteem traditional family value.
My image of Florida is close to image of Miami? Florida seems to be predominantly white state.. Miami is also white city but there are many hispanics who call themselves whites. It's controversial that Gloria Eetefan is white or not. Some true white americans want to distance themselves from latinos even though she or he is full blooded spanish.
But deducting white hispanics, Florida still seems to be white state unlike California.
In simplification Hispanics in florida came from Cuba and Hispanics in California came from Texas. Rgiht? The former were political refugees who don't like the regime of Cuba and glorify American value and the latter were illegal alians who are loyal to America but want to earn money. right? but want to earn money. Right?
I just saw Suzuki Ami's video. Is she still a valuable product for Avex? If I were a producer, I'd sell Kahara instead, it's the time to sell Kahara Tomomi. She should sing the Urami bushi(grudge song) to Komuro. lol
>>424 Its kinda funny that you mention her here, as I was just sumhow thinking about her at work today. Where the fuck is she now? Is she still around? Guess I could find it out on the net but cbf to be honest.
Actually they are pretending as if they were fools. It makes them easier to be understood by more than half of Americans at present who are real dumbasses.
>>404 Well, maybe Yes. A subsidiary seems not to be defined clearly by the Japanese Corpolation Law. Because I used "substantially" as a antonym of "formally".
>>409 Quite a reason. So you can say "Yes my country is shameless indeed, but I'm not". So that you don't have to say sorry for yellow island's monkeys on 2ch. (Where has republicans' love/responsibility to your nation and your people gone?) (In fact, I like Republicans, G.W.Bush and Armitage no matter how much they might get blamed on the medium.) (I do never believe in Republicans who say such a thing however.)
But wait, there are too many yellow monkeys on the continent to ignore... You had better cut into affairs among yellow monkeys at once and throw them into confusion, adopt the resolution of blaming fewer island's monkeys who can't meddle with the states, try to put it into some textbooks of the history in Calif, and make the prime minister of "an allied island that must be reconsidered" apologize for it all over the world again and again after almost 70 years of time, of course in the United States too when he comes!
? OH HAVE YOU ALREADY DONE ? ROL AMAZING AMERICA! HAVE YOUR PRESIDENTS EVER BEEN FORCED SUCH THINGS IN THE THIRD COUNTRY EVEN ONLY ONCE? (AND IT'S ALLIED THIRD COUNTRY OF SUPER POWER! IT MUST SOUND LIKE A STALE JOKE!) OUR GOVERNMENT IS SPENDING MORE MONEY THAN 200 BILLIONS YENS EVERY YEAR ON YOUR BASES, AND ALSO HAS SUPPORTED YOUR OPERATIONS AND YOUR POLICIES TILL NOW. BUT WE COULDN'T HELP EVEN ALL MEMBERS OF ABDUCTED FAMILIES IN THIS WHOLE 30 YEARS. HOW IT COME, YOU BASTARDS?
I'm really looking forward to seeing your next "big present" for us. Another light water reactor for us/China/DPRK or for other asian countries other than India? You gonna make a descendant of your slavery your president. So would you like to make him apologize to yellow monkeys for Atomic Bombs instead of yourselves? Huh. Or you'll try to find other mass destructive nuclear weapons in the world without looking back on yourselves as the only nation in history which has used nuclear weapons for killing uncountable hundreds of thousands of innocent citizens and made two whole cities extinct? Or maybe another resolution ordering us to thank you for your justice and restrictions of redress?ww
I finally understood what American justice and American dignity are lying on.
GOD OF THE MOST LIBERAL CANDIDATE BLESS YOU ALL! AND I CAN SAY AGAIN WHAT A SHAMELESS COUNTRY.
WHY UGLY OLD FACE IS THERE AGAIN! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SHOW YOUR UGLIEST OLD FACE! HOW OLD ARE YOU HUH? YOU LOOK LIKE OVER 30! SHAME ON YOU EVEN YOUR AGE IS UNDER 20! WHY YOU LOOK THAT OLD?? HUH? APOLOGIZE THE SUN! BECAUSE OF YOUR FILTHY HEART AND DIRTY LIFE MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE THAT! SHAME ON YOU!
I'm worried America can't represent descendant of European civilization any more with Black President. Asian and African politicians won't brink at American President any more. American President must have evil white face to intimidate other countries.
I think what he/she meant was "old face"= the face which looks old, like over 30 years old or older. I looked up the dictionary, it said 老けた顔。so it is ok to say that way.
South Korea is superior to Japan in everything. Japan is inferior to South Korea in everything.
It's because South Korea is better at everything than Japan. People around the world think South Korea is a great country. Japan is a criminal. And Korean people are lifted race while Japs are monkeys. Everyone thinks so.
Korean people are popular all around the world. American people respect us. British people love us. French people look up to us. Italian people can't help but fall in love with us.
Korean people are cool.
But Japanese are considered worst people. Japan is looked down on by everyone. Japanese should know they are hated everywhere on the earth.
>>447 I can't year becaunse I'm not korean. I want you to leave japan as soon as possible. The title says: What South Korea should do to win against hateful Japan now that the world is faced with unprecedented monetary crisis.
Crazy. this time Japan won't help south korean from monetary crisis as we did in 1997. They are shameless and ungrateful. Ordinary japanese should acknowledge their maliciousness by now. Don't belive in dentsu and asahi shinbun.
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=cNchkqrJuQg&feature=related That shows how British people look up to Korean and love korea. Coward koreans can't talk back to British. Koreans are prone to bully weak people. We should just ignore and laugh at koreans and sometimes silence them by power from now on.
Korean people are the world bestest people. We created many cultures and spread them around the world. The world can't live a day without our cultures.
It's funny korean ayran race see japanse from the stand point of white people. You are not white. You are uglier than japanse. Your teeth are more protruding than japanese. lol
Koreans seem to be frustrated by today's financial crisis and lash out at japan. This time japan should just slap their face and ignore them. If you want supports, down on your knees and ask for help as you have been doing to China.
Korean President Lee MB and American President Obama are getting along quite well. Korea and AMerica are in a very good relationship , while Japan is isolated from the world, because Japs are not popular among us. America will annihilate Japan with Korea!
You are working well for me. spread hatred for japan and awake our people. I think you are not exceptional, special korean. You are well inculcated, ordinary korean. You are crazy on world standard. But you are good sample in korea.
China noticed your plagiarism and went mad at koreans. Today China hates Korean more than Japan. Many japanese still were not fully awakened.
Your ex-president is far-left and super-nationalistic as usual. anti-america and anti-japan as usual. You humiliated america enough.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fucking_USA
then you turned back on your policy and want to be friends with america. What a convenience!
Italian people can't help but fall in love with us. Why not ask totti? He won't forget about world cup 2002. Why not ask italians in person. They decline your offer bacause you are so dirty and ugly. Then you get angry at "Japan". lol
Korean people are smart and look good. That's why people around the world love us. On the other hand, Japs are uneducated and ugly. That's why everyone looks down on them. That's the truth.
Show us the evidences. Don't show only your wishes. If you are tring make us laugh, you don't have to. So phiscated? Show the evidence. http://photo.jijisama.org/OldKorea.html You were rather african tribes. Japan banned many bad habits and rebuilt the cities.
It's my theory that you are so ugly and unsophiscated that you try not to see the reality. Look you in the mirror. You are not white. You are just a wannabe uglier than jap. You can't tolerate the truth that inferior japs are really superior to you in may aspects.
hahaha. just keep on ranting and being proud and no evidence again.
Yellow Monkey hahaha. I know I'm mongoloid. Why can you use derogatory word that white people can use? Look in the mirror. There you can see jap face that you are imaging every day. It's worse than japanese average face, actually...
Sooner or later, the entire world is gonna be addicted to kimchi, and when you suffer from withdrawal in a kimchi shortage, Koreans are not gonna give the world any. Before you know it you'll be on your knees and beg before Koreans. ha ha ha hah!
If you don't like to see the truth, it can't be changed that Japanese are decendants of killers.
Asian people hate Japan. American people hate Japan. English people hate Japan. African people hate Japan. French people hate Japan. Spanish people hate Japan. All the people on the earth hate Japan.
Obama says he respects Korea, because it's a really great country. And he also says Japan is in debt to Korea, Japan should compansate for what they did to Korea in WW2.
I feel sorry for you. You can't find a place in Japan and America. You are isolated, lonely guy. You try to find a place by attacking Japan. Poor guy. I feel sorry for you. But japan won't pamper you any more. You want to attract japanese somehow. You are like teenage boy who play for attraction. But you are not cute. We're not your mother. you are just nauseating.
Hi! I'm from America. And I like Korea. Korea is good and Korean people are really nice. On the other hand, I hate Japan and their shitty culture! Japanese porn videos are extreme and Japs are like that. Pervert and hentai is the main Japanese exports. kkk
>>483 Are you serious? There is actually eating shit tradition in Korea. I'm not joking. If you want to be a true korean traditionalist. Learn your history and tradition. You are fake korean. Learn you language. Korean American is not true korean except himhttp://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/04_02/ChoSeungHSDM_468x342.jpg
>>482 What are you talking about? I'm American. Korean people are welcome in America, coz they are cute and lovely and nice. Actually, Obama promised Korean people could travel around in America without visa, because he respects Korean people.
But I don't want Japanese to come to AMerica. I hate them!
Hi! Nice to meet you guys. I'm from England. And I love Korea and its cultures. As I see it, Japanese cultures originate in Korea. Korea is a superb country. Korea is the best.
I feel embarrased when I talk to anybody. If you ask me questions and all I have to do is answering them or if you have some questions which you'd like a native Japanese speaker to answer, I don't mind talking with you on Skype.
Hwabyeong, literally "anger illness" or "fire illness”, is a Korean term for a kind of culture-bound somatization disorder, a mental illness. It manifests as one or more of a wide range of physical symptoms, in response to emotional disturbance, such as stress from troublesome interpersonal relationships or life crises. It most often occurs in females in their menopausal years.
If you're asking "are those sentences grammatically incorrect?"...
The first is technically not incorrect, but the wording is awkward--it's not the sort of thing you'd actually hear someone usually say. The second is incorrect.
I may be able to help you if you provide context to those two sentences. What happened that would lead to you saying them?
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=1fn0goyNbLQ i'm not 512. >>515 Composer and lyricist of this song is prone to be convicted and in jail. He is now incarcerated in the detention center on the charge of fraud.
I actually meant the context within the song, but with your information, I... Well, it doesn't really matter.
Reading over a translation of the song lyrics, I'm still terribly confused. The song seems melancholy and depressing--the words "celebrate" and "party" are a great contrast... Well, that doesn't really matter, either.
In any case, the second sentence would be better written as "we will love a long, long time", or "we will love for a long, long time", or something similar.
The following sentence "Can you kiss me tonight?" is thrown to her future bride or lover. This song is made to be suitable for wedding ceremony or be betrothal.
...to tell the truth, I have no idea. I can tell you if a sentence is grammatically correct, but I have no social life; when it comes to marriage and romance, and the vocabulary that comes with it, I'm as clueless as you are. No, I'm probably more clueless than you are.
lol the things related to the wedding and such makes my blood very cold in a twinkling. you better not talk about wedding or romance or whatever. it is the most boring topic in the world.
Many white girls say they want to live in Korea a) because it's a wonderful country, b)they can have chances to go out with Korean guys, and c)they want to marry a korean guy.
Korean guys are so popular among white girls.
Japs? I think white girls ignore Yellow monkeys. White girls hate Japs.
>>529>>530 I think you are very immature. Are you talking about one particular Korean guy? or whole Korean guys? I don't think you can't say all the Korean guys are popular among white girls while Japanese guys are unpopular. Each and every person is different. One would be handsome and genltman so tha he'd be popular among girls but the other one maybe not handsome and not gentleman so that he would be unpopular among girls....
>>531 As they say, there is some pretty obvious trolling going on here.
Anyways, some people on 4chan were asking about illegal drugs in Japan. I tried looking for some statistics but didn't find much on google. I've read that ecstasy is pretty popular and marijuana use has high penalties, but that's all I know. Oh and the police can (theoretically) hold you up to 23 days without charge. I took this photo when I was in Japan: http://bayimg.com/image/palkoaabn.jpg
NO. It's not troll. They are just as usual. They are called 斜め上に行く, literally means "go obliquely upward". It implies they go beyond our imagination.
I've seen Korean being a laughing stock in white nationalist board. Korean said the worlds like "jap, slanted eyes, ugly, jew and so on". But he was sneered at and didn't get sympathy at all. And "Japs" are better for white nationalists because they were ally of germany and really popular for their culture and technology. And there is also no proof average white girls love koreans... puhaha.
Korea is proud of her cosmetic surgery tequnique and high ratio of cosmetic surgery. More than half women get cosmetic surgery. multiple times as many as that of Japan. They want to make eyes double-edged and nose thinner and bigger. Yes. as usual koreans claim vice versa to cover the truth.
The above story means koreans can't love natural side of korea and start fantasizing and making japan scapegoat.
>>532 The girl in the photo is cute, huh? 大麻(marijuana?) use is said to be getting rampant among university students, people in show business, athletes and some of them are arrested. I think the ones gotten caught is a tip of an iceberg. Even housewives have easy access to 大麻. They get it on the street, bar and such.
>>513 Oh,sorry. I believed that her father was an American and in the army, because she is good at speaking English as well as Japanese. I should have confirmed her information. She was only born in America and lived there.
Assuming that the singer meant to say something like "is it okay for us to celebrate?", "can we celebrate?" is acceptable ----------------------- Let me explain. komuro's lyrics, especially "can you celebrate" is famous for a bad exaple of japanese wrong English. First, Peter Barakan, British Journalist living in Japan Pointed out the strangeness of the lyrics. Komuro wanted to say 祝福してくれる? in English, "can you celebrate". komuro's intention is not asking the possibility nor asking permisson but just asking and expecting celebration from a lover. In this context, "would you celebrate" sounds better? Secondly "can you celebrate" lacks object. Komuro didn't know "celebrate" means "throw party with drinks" when it is in intransitive verb form. Komuro wanted to say "Can (would) you celebrate (commemorate) "our marriage?" or "would you congratulate me on wedding" and as such.
"Can you kiss me tonight" must sound odd too. Kissing amuro namie needs some courage? "can you kiss me tonight" is OK?
>>539 No. She was born in NY and brought up in Japan. Her first language is Japanese. She went to american school in Japan so she keeps fluent in English.
"Commemorate" and "celebrate" are the things which go with party or ceremony? I think komuro's intention didn't go so far. He just wanted to say "wish me well". In that sense "celebrate" will be unstable word no matter how it is used.
>>541 Thank you for your supplement. The fact is that I haven't listened to her works very much, and I'm hardly interested in her. But I think that recently she looks a little strange, as long as I look her threads in the 2ch server of "plus prompt reports of talents and sports"
>>547 If US's drug use is in an adult stage, that of Japan is an infant, toddler stage. I mean far less common than US but getting more common in Japan than say, ten years ago.
>>531 Nope. It's the truth. If you go to America, you will know how popular Korean guys are among white girls. All Korean guys are very good-looking and nice. And white girls want to date K-boys. We are proud of being so popular.
Japs are considered to be worst Asian race among white girls. They don't want to have anything to do with them. That's the truth.
I agree. If we look at a series of korean presidents, we'll know they are all handsome and sexy. http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/img/user/76/73/7207673/45.jpg >>547 We're running after USA. The situation is still different. The punishment is heavy. I think Marijuana trend is urban trend in stricted areas and fields. >>546 I don't think she spokes "can you kiss me tonight?" to anybody. "we'll love long long time" means "she and her mate'll love each other for a long time". Coincidently Amuro Namie married with a fellow dancer and retired from showbiz in her prime time with this song. She came back in a year or so though.
Having lived in America my whole life, that is news to me... Now I'm not a white girl, but I'm fairly sure white women here don't discriminate. Actually, a large majority can't tell the difference between Korean, Chinese, or Japanese. You are all just Asians to them.
Also, after Obama won the election, news programs were saying that people ALL OVER THE WORLD were celebrating. How does the U.S. presidents affect other countries? I realize that the U.S. economy has an impact on other country's economies and a president's policies influence the economy... but is it really something to be celebrating over?
>>555 I'm not the trolling guy but regarding Obama's winning the election and it's influence on the world, let me give you my two yen.
I'm not very interested in politics but I heard one of the Obama's compaign promises is withdrawal from Iraq while MacCain's is keep staying there for decades, maybe permanently.
American invasion, or I should say the advancement to Iraq, and the following presense has been opposed worldwide and many demonstrations against US's policy has been observed worldwide. In that sense, people all over the world, no matter where they live, may be celebrating Obama's win.
Second, people around the world may be celebrating his win because of his ethnic origin. His win can be a small step in the right direction for the world without racial discriminations. I can imagine many people throught the world welcome the world without racial descriminations.
Having said that, It might be just that US media is arrogant enough to think that the world evolves around the US and that people all over the world celebrate a new president of America.
How can you know about the details all over the world in your home?
Media media media media mediummmmmmmmmmmm!
You'll learn that the main stream of the world medium is heavily biased toward so-called left wings. Neally same as followings of communist (and China is the country of communists). In fact, election is a battle of wisdom between medium and you people. This time most of you became cowards and finally got tricked by honeyed words of medium. When your economy is bad, you should revitalize your economy.
Most of the world (US) medium won't tell you but soon your country starts begging to China to make up your nation debt, does anything that China requests you, imposes more taxes on companies in US, makes them weaker than those in other countries, also makes your domestic economy weaker and distributes the tax incomes to you people, turns out to distribute them to their family companies like Clinton had done. Actually that made the bubble economy of sub prime loans in the states.
Who do you think will be pleased by those policies? You need some imaginations. Maybe you must have needed them much more earlier though.
Neally > Nearly followings of communist > followings of communists make up your nation debt > make up for your nation debt anything that China requests you > anything that China requests tax incomes > tax revenues like Clinton had done. > just like Clinton government had done.
>>555 Count the number of bombs your country has dropped onto countries/regions where the majority is black/brown/yellow people, and compare to the number on white people. Your country even nuked yellows. Twice.
Now said country got a black leader. Do you still think it's surprising the whole world is celebrating?
>>552 haha I guess they're going to export melamine food or something as their revenge. >>555 I'm not sure that's really something to be celebrating or not, but I'm SURE the U.S president has a really big impact. Actually, I don't care who the president is, but it is true. Basically, People really don't know about their own countries. Once you go to the other country, maybe you will understand how the country impacts on anoher contry.
china=poisoned gyoza we have bad image of china. I think nobody trust China anymore no matter what they try to struggle on the rehabilitation of its honor.
>>575 Are you really Japanese? 政権politicl power changed変態 is a correct Japanese in 変態's orignal meaning. But sounds weird. We don't usually use 変態 as original meaning except academic use.
>>579 But not in colloquial use. I think if primary and junior-hign students were taught complete metamorphosis完全変態 in class, they feel amused and start gigling.
People have much more chances to talk about pervert than metamophosis of insects except scientists and insect freaks. 変態 is predominantly used as pervert.
We use this expression as usual. 「彼は変だ。」彼(KARE)=He It means [He is weird/strange.] But I think it isn't original use of the word "変".
We use also this. 「彼は変人だ。」 It means [He is a strange/ an eccentric person.] These usages bear quite a close each other. So I guess that someone happened to use "変だ" as an abbreviation of "変人だ" or whatever "変〜だ" and it gotta be a custom like we usually use it.
The letter "変" didn't have meaning of "strange". It must come from the variation of "Changed/Altered".
変人(HEN JIN) means a strange person. But it sounds like a person who was changed/altered in Japan. So I wanna say the meaning of "strange" must come from the variation of "changed/altered"... It's difficult to tell you but I think we didn't have the expresion "変だ" in the ancient Japan.
This will be better. 「But it sounds like a person who was changed/altered a little in Japanese.」
>>585 We can find it funny because we know both of meanings. Some of us search for/face those situations or use the word often in their conversations to laugh, and others hardly do. That's all.
Interview with the guy who took most of the videos of the Yamanote Train Halloween parties: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI8R08Fj7j4 RoninDave is a bit blunt with his statements, but a lot of what was said in the video made sense to me, although I still don't know if I entirely support the train party. Man, I couldn't believe how spot on Gimmeaflakeman was when he said (paraphrase) "Gaijin in Japan are like dogs, they carve out their own territory and won't make eye contact with other gaijin." This exactly happened to me in Japan. For some reason it felt strange to see other gaijin (except when at tourist places like kinkakuji), especially when I was at a movie theater and the only other gaijin was sitting in my row. I did say hi to some gaijin once and they did not seem happy to have to acknowledge me. 変でしょうね。
If you ask me, the guy wearing a black cap should've learned Japanese so he could learn about Japan in the Japanese language. If I said the same thing when I was asked why I suck at English, I'd sound like a total stupid...
>>599 I thought it'd be interesting since we did discuss it before. There never was a shitstorm in this thread. Nothing wrong with seeing every side to an argument. >>600 Yea, especially since he's lived in Japan for so long.

These are simplified, exaggerated example thogh. Perhaps 2channelers don't wanna embarrass site owners and don't want trouble.

Japanese people don't use their pc for looking at web sites, don't make any sites ourselves, mostly just watching them through our cellphones. And post sometimes on 2ch, mixi and stuffs. Very few people have their own blogs, and profiles were popular among teenagers recently, but still there're large amount of people in Japan who isn't even concerned with the net personally if they are over 50s especially. (Japanese majority on the net are under 40s and male.)
The contens on the net were made on special purposes to catch our eyes you know. So in our ordinary life, I can say that the result isn't always general for all to be sure.
I guess... that you might say "Hentai Hentai" so often to your friends and your family. So you can regard it as a matter of course. You searched the word on google, found a lot of results, and relieved yourself. But it's just like looking into mirror images of yourself.
Google can have any kind of results even if the query seemed to be meaningless. You should know that bizarre information tends to be popular on the net more than general one. Because we don't search the infomation that we know already.
People say Korea is the most sophisticated nation in the world. They are attracted with Korean people and its cultures.
It's called Korean Wave. All the people around the world can't stop watching Korean Dramas, Movies, and actors/actresses. Also, Korean Pop musis overwhems the world. BoA is quite popular all over the world. She's now horribly popular among Japan and the US. I don't think BoA is not happy about Japs hearing her songs. Anyway, all those cultures position Korean Bland quite higher. That's one of the reasons why white girls find Korean guys mesmerizing.:)
Japanese girls also love Korean guys as white girls do. It goes without saying that Korean people represent Asia, because Korea has excelent korean people. The world knows it.
>>650 No. BoA is a Korean singer who is really popular among Japs and American people. Why do a Japanese musician produce her? You're out of your mind. The news says that BoA attended a party where American Celebs appeared. She's stepping up to a world-class star.
Why do White Chicks love Korean guys? Because Korean guys are handsome and nice to girls and really attractive. On the other hand, Japs are not popular among white girls. it's because they are ugly.
>>653 I know Korean products are selling well in America, China, and India, and what not. Korea has a great influence on the world. And yes, the world wants to buy great Korean products. I don't know if African people have enough money to our products, though.
You minded me of another reason why Korea is so popular among the world.:)
>>651 Are you serious? Are you really boa's fan? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_(Double/Midnight_Parade/Milky_Way%7EKimi_no_Uta%7E)#Korean_Version Japanese also produced her. I don't have any interest in her anyway. It's not a thing to be proud of. I think hamasaki ayumi must be more popular. I don't have any interest in her either and wish she went out.
I think crazy Korean here as is expected is either white or chinese American who hate Koreans or a korean. I don't care cos I don't like Koreans either way. Keep up the good works.
I don't think Boa is popular all over the world either. I suppose hamasaki sells more than Boa in Asia. Boa just debued in America. It's easy to debue in America. Even kuraki Mai did such a thing.
I agrre Boa is better english speaker and singer than Hamasaki. But that's not decisive things for sells.
What? I admitted Boa is better English speaker and better singer and dancer. But as for sales and popularity, You can't bring any evidences to show Boa is superior to hamasaki..
I suggest you to put a paper saying "koreans are popular in the world and superior to Jap" on your back. This advertisement will work very well for your cause.
Oh, you know about Big Bang, which means you are interested in Korean singer, right? Just as I thought before, Korean guys are famous and popular in japan...
And even jap racists here admit BoA is a better singer than Hamasaki is. It seems that Japs are affected by Korean Wave.
>>681 I don't want to see them. But I happened to see them on TV. Japanese media is very preferable to Korean stars even after it's revealed that they spoke ill of Japan in Korea. Japanese biggest advertisement agency's boss is promoting korean wave. He was born in korea and wanted to do something for Korea in his own words.
There is a tendency that Korean CDs sell in a huge amount in the first stage and top the chart. Then vanish from the chart soon. They sell relatively small amounts in a long run.
>>661 I don't understand why you choose a loaded term like Japs, which I often find especially in this English bullten board. Why? Tell me why you're calling yourself in such a pejorative way.
>>681 It's no doubt that boa is a good singer and dancer. I admit korean singers have more talent in singing and dancing than japanese idols except face
>>689 I know. But they can shut their mouths if they want to make money in Japan. And words like "I like Japan" wont be punished in Korea. But the revelation of buring japanese flag and handing out fliers accusing Japan on the territory issue to foreign embassies won't ruin business in Japan. lol Japanese won't complain. And japanese talents working in korea are ordered to praise Korean and apology to korea.
I know hollywood's stars smiling to Japnese are fake. But I don't hear them speak "jap" in the US.
>>692 Oh that's good. Are you white girls or Korean guys? Whichever, leave 2ch at once for them. Why white girls and Korean guys are holding weddings everyday on the Japs' 2ch thread of the day time?
While we're at it I should remind you that Asian women love white guys. That's right, I'm coming to Japan to steal all your women and once I'm done there I'll hit up the Korean Peninsula--and maybe China just because I can. No Asian woman will be untouched by this アメリカ人.
Guys, it's true though. Today, kimchi is served all over the world, which is considered as the main reason why Koreans have started to be accepted and loved by the world, not to mention their pop culture and whatnot. Also, things Korean are so highly advanced, sophisticated and original in every aspect that lots of educated people and intellectuals appreciate the core of Korean culture. You know that. That is, now Korea is becoming the de-facto world standards saturating every corner of your life with their awsomeness, even invisibly and inaudibly. It must hurt to acknowledge this fact, but it's objectively true you'd find some Korean essence in every great achievement known to human race.
"Gaijin in Japan are like dogs, they carve out their own territory and won't make eye contact with other gaijin."
It's interesting. The same happens among Japanese. not in the designated place, all over the world, especially in the west. Japanese tourists are ashamed and tired of being Japanese and want to blend with romantic foreign scenary. When We see Japanse fellows abaroad, it ruins the atmosphere. Self-hating and not being able to helping each other abroad is common Japanese pehnomenon.

Can ameridcans tell americans from white people abroad? Is there concensus that white people can speak English regardless of homecountries? I think japanese can pick japanese from asians from the atmosphere and behavior as weel as lookings. It's not race. Japanese hating Japanese when they travel. Japanese may flock and help each other in abroad. But it's not affection and pride. Just anxious and worried.
Ohh your myspace? I just noticed Google Chrome browser can't display Myspace.com correctly.. >>748 I will learn Spanish sometime! i still should learn more Englsih though
McCain was born in Panama . Your father must have been a U.S military officer and married with a local Panamanean there. McCain father was not a race traitor. Your father was.
>>750 I find Facebook to be a much "cleaner" alternative to Myspace. Facebook seems similar to Mixi, but people on Facebook use their real names. It's useful if I need to contact someone at school since everyone pretty much has a Facebook profile. I even signed my friend in Japan up for a Facebook account so we could share pictures easily lol.
>Panamanian people in Panama speak English? barely >Or they know about Japan or Japanimation? Hmmm, i Know the Japanese creative export reached Panama http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3958681
I don't know you're still around here but it must be high time for you to go to bed.
It sounds like a contradiction though, you should get more careful about your personal infos such as your desktop printscreen/myspace account/or anything. There should be rogues around here who trick someone and take advantage of it.
We have to admit that Korea surprised the world including America, Japan, France, England, Italy, Canada, and German, by showing them how advanced Korean cultures/products/foods are. Most creative people in the world!!
Now girls all around the world are quite raptured by Korean guys.
>>795 Not only that. Actually, most of the high-tech gadgets are created in Korea, such as semi-conductors, TVs, vessels, and many other things! :) You can't live a day without Korean creative products. kkk
I think white girls are interested in Korea because of those cool industries.
>>796 I know that all of those high-tech things are made of Kimuti. and guys with smell of Kimuti are so cool. I completely agree with you, Kimuti man.
I think china is on par with korean on pruduction volume of ship. Japanese can't comepete in price anymore, so concentrate on higher technology. Korea owes too much to Japan for shipbuilding industry. But they are ungrateful as usual and just boasts and attacks japan. The founder of Hyndai group blantantly admited he stole technology from Japan. http://www.viewsnnews.com/article/view.jsp?code=NBB&seq=16144 Japanese, it's time to awake!
Hey, help me. I'll be directed to kr.youtube whenever I click the youtube links on google. Is it the proof of how influential korean culture is? Korean guy here must have cast spell on this thread!
I don't wanna be mean to you, Sparky. But you know, setting rules is a great trouble even to grown-ups. Wise congressmen are all upset to work it out as you see them on TV.
I think the site such as 2ch or 4chan is easy to get bigger without rules. Sometimes you can find sparkling treasures among them, but you can't make those treasures separated because they can exist only on so many useless/tasteless posts and unconcerned matters to you. Can you imagine that?
Least rules make its power most. It's completely same in the field of economy.
So what do you have to do now? I think you had better look for more of friends in your age who have close taste to you. And help them sometimes just as you want it now. If you (your friends and yourself) will need the site in future, you will discuss the rules and make them as least as possible. Friends are much important than rules themselves. Friends will be the sources of your true power.
>>830 Power doesn't always belong to good men. If anything, it has belonged to rather cruel winners till now.
So we have to be careful not to be deceived by some media. If you just accept the information, you're slaves forever. If you think about the information, you can see the truth.
English board needs the ID system like other 2ch boards. A guy who is in this thread keeps posting the same thing. I won't be back until the guy dies or get killed. I'm sick of korean.
Ok so for the past 4 years in Japanese class we've always begun with a series of exercises. I think it's called radio taisou (ラジオ体操?). Anyways, whatever we do in class is most certainly a bastardization of Japanese culture. So who does these exercises in Japan? Kids? Grandmas? Stay at home wives? And how often (daily, special occasions)?
>>845 Yes, a certain group of works getting more and more scary for years. It must have something to do with our economic situation of these days. And I guess that globalization of animation industry changed themselves radically somehow... The problems might come from stockholders or capitalist of so-called "venture capitals".
His name is Hiko-Nyan. On the St.valentine day. In Japan, we'll get a box of chocolates from girls on the day. Don't ask me why. Somebody started in past days and it just got popular. *ω*
Ok. So I'll leave this thread soon. I may never be back.
But later you'll find more of your friends, Sparky. Love your family and your friends. And enjoy Japanese animation with your friends, if you please^ω^
I want to be born Korean. I want to hit on a white chick. 100 % successful pick up! I'm jealous of korean. Angelina Jolie? Avril Lavine? Paris Hilton? Jennifer Love Hewitt? They could be mine.
I decided to learn Korean and masquerade as Korean!
>>846 I'm in my thirties and the situation might be different now. But when I was in elementary school, students did ラジオ体操 right after a PE class starts to worm up if remember correctly. Or at other sports events such as 運動会 to warm up.
When I was doing a manual labor at a construction site when doing a part time job, workers there did ラジオ体操 at maybe 8:30 or so to the recorded music. So that's mainly for warming up, too.
ラジオ体操 is done by elementary kids in summer during summer vacation, too. When I was a kid, kids had to gather at public open space early in the morning (6:30 or so) except Sundays to do the exercise. Kids now in my neghbors just have to gather two weeks (except sundays) or so out of 40 day summer vacation to do the exercise. Back in my time, we kids had to do it the whole summer vacation except Sundays.
The main purpose of that during summer vacation is based on the idea that kids have to live a diciplined life even during summer vacation by getting up early. In my case, I often slept again after doing the exercise and coming back home, and my mom often scolded me for that. After kids did the exercise, they get in line to get their cards stamped. Depends on the number of stamps you get during summer vacation, kids can get something like coupon by which they can get stationery. (at least in my neighborhood and back in time)
So all in all, young and old, some are forced to do it like kids in summer and some old people do it voluntarily on daily basis for their health as a light exercise. It's very common. But I can't stand American B movies ridiculing it as stereotype of Japan which I might have seen before. In my case, I haven't done it for ages. As you might recognize, ラジオ体操 doesn't look cool after all.
ラジオ体操 is for warm-up for kids, and for adults (mainly old people) its for their health. So we never do it before math, history, or you name it, classes except a PE class.
>>867 >>868 Ah, I see. Well that would make sense why Japanese exchange students that came to my school couldn't stop laughing when they saw us doing the exercises. Gaijin poorly imitating a Japanese childhood custom? How could it not be funny?
>>871 Although ラジオ体操 has been exercised in the elemantory school, efect is suspectable for the youth. As for myself I just did ラジオ体操 on occasions prepared for ラジオ体操. Children won't play ラジオ体操 voluntarily in my experience. If there are people who are exercising ラジオ体操, it must be elderlies. Many elderlies must be doing ラジオ体操 for health. ラジオ体操 has childhood image as weel as elderly image. And it has comical slow move. ラジオ体操 has corny image rather than fashoinable image.
So 外人 doing ラジオ体操 may have looked funny to him. ラジオ体操's image is very Japanese and far from the American image. American exercise in general is very fast and energetic.
ラジオ体操 has been exercised for educational aim too. It has been considerd to create solidarity and descipline. I don't know today's status. But factory workers including white collar men used to exercise ラジオ体操 in a group before the start of their jobs.
I saw this summer a bulletin about the program of ラジオ体操 during summer vacation. So ラジオ体操 in summer vacation is still alive. ラジオ体操 in summer vacation is usually done in park within our community. It is pretty early, around 6am. I woke up unwillingly and gathered in a park. I may have slept again back in my home as long as I remember.
To Create "harmony" should have been menthioned too. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=V_gLOUbQZgk&feature=related I had thought Americans regared ラジオ体操 as funny and something negative, fascism-like exercise. There was a trade friction between America and Japan. I suspect the movie is misleading and too syterotypical. But as you can see in the video around 7:00 on youtube, it is actually a part of ラジオ体操. It is typical move. But only a part of ラジオ体操. We don't continue one move such a long time.
I always wonder why Americans won't wear uniform in car manufactering factory. It's too shoddy. It divides factory workers and staff in the office as well. American may regard uniform as like something in Jail though. In japan even engineer wear the same or similar uniform. http://www2g.biglobe.ne.jp/~aviation/tanaka02.jpg He is tanako koichi, nobel laureate. He has no doctor degree. He was just one engineer in manufacturing company. His typical image of サラリーマンsalary man caught the heart of Japanese.
In recent years, worker dispathcing become quite popular. there is a big wall even in the factory wokers, temporary worker or employee. Corporate giant like Toyota easily fire temporary worker when they are in depression.
Indiscriminate stabbing killer in akihabara, kato was also a worker in the car industry. He did for various reasons. Frustrated life was one reason.

>>909 I'm not 910. You didn't find any interesting converstation to join? I thought for some reason you would join when the exercise to worm up which is peculiar in Japan was talked about.
Mara Yamauchi seems to be the diplomat's daughter too. Is diplomat hereditary job in the UK as well as Japan? Not every diplomats are hereditary. But it's true many diplomats' fathers are diplomats. Crown Prince owada masako is the same case. There has been a long suspicion that she was helped by his father on university entrance and passing the foreign Ministry exam.
But a Jap can be a substitute for a korean. White guy cannot be a substitute. It's interesting. Japs are the ugliest. Korean are the most handsome comparable to white guys. But White guys can't disguise as korean guys. A small small differences sometimes makes big differences.
The same race but completely different. Bae Yong Joon is as sexy as Brat Pitt. Different race. But they have much in common. Sexy, musculine and strong. Who selects Japs only because they are the same race as Bae Yong Joon?
Yep, and Korean guys are better than British guys too, so Biritish girls are left no choice to go out with Korean guys. :)
Actually, more than 7 million Korean people live abroad, and they are popular among the people where they are, especially Korean guys are quite popular!
But Brat Pitt has wide nose as nigger! And he has square jaw like gook. Why is he defined as good-looking man by jew media?! Anyway I agree that Pitt looks like korean on these points.
Korean people speak better English than Japanese, all because the education in Korea is far better than in Japan. Koreans are smart as well as cool. That's why people all around the world respect Korean people, while Japanese are thought to be retarded. That's the truth. :)
As an American guy, I envy Korean guys. I want to be Korean!!
A Korean baseball club lost to a Taiwanese club. They are dropped out from Asia Series. But a Korean club defeated Japansese club, Seibu Lions earlier. If the japanese wins in the final, Koream will be the de-facto winner of the series?
>>933 Are you white? You dare to abandon the status of white in order to become Korean? A 007 movie must be a jew propaganda to go against korean wave world wide.
>>936 Koreans are a lifted race. Korean guys are quite popular among America, England, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Canada, Brazil, thanks to their superiority.
That's so true. Unlike the anti-Korean atmosphere on the Japanese internet, the Korean Wave is dominant all around the world. It's rolling over the globe now.
Most of the girls living on this planet know Korean guys are mesmerising. They say they want to marry a Korean guy. But remember, Korean guys love cute girls, like white girls. Don't expect yellow monkeys to have a chance.
Seibu lions won in the final. Korean club,SK Wyverns defeated Seibu Lions before. SK Wyverns is the srongest. It is simple application of syllogism and quite obvious.
Korea: I'm out of my depth nida... Shuzo: Oh, Come on... What did you say now? Hey, Korea! What did you say now!? 'Out of my depth!?' Shuzo: You can't do anything while you say you can't! Shuzo: Think! Think harder! Korea: I'm already out of dollars nida... Shuzo: No, you are not. ABSOLUTELY NOT! There must be some dollars you can find! Korea: ...US Treasury run by National Pention... Shuzo: There it is!! See!? There it is! Korea: I'll sell it nida... Shuzo: Yes, sell it! Korea: I'm going to sell it all nida!!! Shuzo: GO AHEAD! Korea: SELL ALL THE TREASURY I HAVE HERE NIDA!!!!!!!!!! Shuzo: And you're dead! Your economy completely dead!
>>910 I really hadn't noticed that I'd not posted anything this round... if you hadn't mentioned it, I would probably have kept quiet, you're right. Wasn't intentional though, just very busy.
>>913 I usually have a check in the morning, before leaving for work, but there is very little time to post, unfortunately. My boss decided it would be a good idea to take on more clients even though we're already overloaded with work at the moment. Would help if he knew anything about the industry. Haven't really had the urge to join in with any topics this time too. Talked about the Yamanote line Hallowe'en party last year, then it was mainly about Kimchi, Obama, Korea, and that guy from Panama with ADHD.
>>919 It's not unheard of for the child of a diplomat to also get into politics. However, it's not really common either. I'm not a diplomat, though my father was. And his father also wasn't a diplomat. It's quite unusual for someone to become a diplomat if their family isn't involved in politics in some way, though.
>My boss decided it would be a good idea to take on more clients even though we're already overloaded with >work at the moment. So the economic situation of England is still good, right? The news says Europe got into recession, considered by the quartally report.
What do you think of the reccomendation by the French president? I mean, he says he wants to regulate the world monetary system, calling it "post Breton Woods system" or whatever.
>>953 Really. I thought Mara Yamauchi' stay in Kenya had something to do with her father's job, diplomat. In japan It's not uncommon to become diplomats from generation to generation. Different from politician, diplomat's children have to take the examination in order to succeed their father's job. But there has to be some inflation of scores for them.
Princess masako (not crown prince, my mistake,,,,) was diplomat. Her father was vice minister in foreign ministry. Her father had become vice minister before her daghter's marriage. But it is suspectable that relation ship with japanese imperial family affected his post. Masako was rumored to become princess all the way.
In japan, diplomat is prestigeous job without noblesse oblige. They live in mansion and are isolated from common life. In japan, speaking foreign languages is prestige. In your country speaking decent English must be prestige. lol
I heard Aso's grandfather yoshida shigeru (diplomat and PM) was proud of his Queen English and dispised American English. He is said to deplore Aso(grandson)'s American English. He was a connoisseur of wine too. Who cares about Jap who thinks himself British gentleman?
Just an irony. I'm not korean by the way. I heard Japanese diplomats before Yoshida generation were more proud and noble.
>>954 Having an underpaid, overworked job and not being in politics isn't really much to brag about.
>>955 The current economic growth in the UK is already a negative, and we expect the next quarter to be in negative growth too, so we're already in a recession. People are cutting back from expensive printed advertising and spending loads on TV and radio costs, so the Internet is a much cheaper way of advertising their products and services. This is why most web design firms are doing fine despite the cutbacks on spending.
I think Brown and Sarkozy are right in recommending a 'Breton Woods II'. At least that way, other nations would be able to analyse the ongoing economy as an international whole, rather than being kept in the dark. And at least one country wouldn't be regulating the majority of the world's finances alone. Personally, I'm quite surprised that Aso said the yen should stay linked to the dollar.
>>959 About half of politicians here had a 'prestigious' education, with people such as Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children and Schools, who went to Oxford then Harvard, and Miliband, also educated at Oxford. Brown, however, had a pretty normal upbringing, educated in state-run schools and educated at Edinburgh University. Blair was from a middle-class family too. I guess it's expected from the Labour Party. The Conservatives almost all went to public schools.
As for language, it's rare to find people here who use English properly. I'd expect the locals to at least be able to. Walking through town yesterday, I heard around fifteen different languages being used.
I learned a while ago that Cambridge had been also the producer of Prime Minister before and matched Oxford. For some reason it hasn't produced Prime Minister after? ww2. The first Prime Minister should be an graduate of Cambridge.
>>962 What do you think of Russian Politics now? The news says that the opposition parties were disbanded yesterday. As I'm sure you know well, the Russian stock market has been dropping in value, especially after the attack against Georgia. And I hear if the oil price go down under 70 dollar per barrel, Russia is in red, and now it's under 60 (it's expected to go farther down). Considering this, I guess Putin (and Medvedev) excluded his political rivals by power/force, so that the administration party has the complete power to control the nation. Personally, I don't think we can rule out the possibilities that Russia will go to extremes. What do you think of that?
>>960 >Personally, I'm quite surprised that Aso said the yen should stay linked to >the dollar. But China, India, and Japan (in a nutshell, Asia) prefer to be linked to dollars, coz that's preferable to the countries. Sarkozy's plan failed.
You have to discern difference between lip service, strategy and subservience.
China can threaten the US with selling US Treasury. China has basic power to make the US anxious. China can negotiate and get rewards in return for assisting the US. Japan has only one way : support and suport and support.
Now it's 12:07 in California. I guess I didn't refresh for a while. After reading through the entire thread, I only just now deciphered your katakana, >>985. I was ignoring the エ and it didn't make sense. Now I get it. I am in northern Orange County, with the wind blowing ash and smoke over me. I'm staying inside.
Orange County is the place japanese should not go swimming to? I'm not korean so I will be rejected by white girls and punched down by white boys. I wish I were k boy. He would attract white women and brush away jealous white boys with Taekwondo.
>>983 Sarkozy just did rush, based on the self-centered idea. That's why main Asian countries didn't take his side.
As you said, China can threaten America, but at the same time, America can threaten China as well. For the record, America will reduce Chinese imports in the light of trade deficits, and Obama tried to put puressure on China by saying China profits by the dollar-peg system. In this respect, both have a conflicting point, but concerning key currency, they still agree.
About Euro, it's so obvious that the falling Euro's value in the market put Sarkozy under pressure so much he might have felt he should do something to stop Euro's influence from falling/disappear. But that was not acceptable to Asian countries (and of course, America).
>>988 China has nuclear ballestic missile system pointed at America as well as Japan.
Japan's balls(kitama) is in the hands of the US. So Japan can't move just merely on the econnomic interests. Ex-Prime Minister Hashimoto's challenging and impudent attitudes made america angry and hashimoto soon wimpped out and became silent. Japan's threat is supposed to be taken as bluff immediately and Japan will be reprimanded while China's threat is supposed to be taken seriously and the Us will show her readiness to negotiate.
Economic negotiation won't work properly without sufficient military backup. Japan abandoned most of the Azadegan oil field interests in Iran by the pressure from America. China has been reported to be negotiating with Iran to take the place of Japan.
