My name is ××. I made a reservation starting on 10/23 but accidentally deleted the confirmation email. Could you please verify that I do in fact have a reservation? Also, I'd like to have a friend in America mail me some tickets. Would it be okay to have the tickets sent to the hotel (in advance), and I pick them up when I check-in? Thank you (for your assistance).

(Dear) Mr./Mrs./Ms. △△,
I understand the tickets are only mailed within the U.S., so could I have them sent to the hotel I'm staying at during the event? I really do want these tickets and I would sincerely appreciate your help. Thank you,

Still we do respect ideas of all kinds of religion. We go to Shinto shrine on new years day and pray for gods and goddess to protect us. We go to Buddhist temple, meditate for a while and communicate with our ancestors to guide us. We have numerous animsistic festivals all over Japan and cerebrate harvest with spirits in the nature.
In addition to that, we intergrated western beliefs like Christianism to our traditional beliefs. In result, we have our own unique experimental religious culture.

>>665 Are you mad at me? Is it because I turned down your job offer? I don't speak much English and don't have much experience dealing with international customers. So I was concerned that I might cause trouble.
>>684 Actually no, it's really not. Of course you have to also match your expression/body language. But if for example, the flight attendant says, "We only have fish left, that all right?", I would shake my head and smile in a no-thank-you kind of way and say, "Na, I'm good."
>「I'm good.」では反対の意味にも取れます。 Mm, not really. If you wanted to accept the food, you might say, "That's good," or "Sounds good," or something else, but never, "I'm good."
>>691 >ゼスチャーや表情といったオプション無しに正確に意思を伝えられます。 You won't get very far trying to speak English without gestures/expressions. ww In all seriousness, we convey like 50% of what we mean through non-verbal communication. It's pretty different from Japanese. But I do completely agree with you, "No thank you," is the safest and most fool-proof way to say it. I just wanted to point out that there's no fear of misunderstanding with "I'm good."
I will say this, though. If the speaker is obviously a non-native speaker of English, the flight attendant (or whomever you're talking to) *might* assume the non-native speaker doesn't know what s/he's talking about. In other words, they might assume that the speaker doesn't actually know that "I'm good." is a refusal, and they would assume s/he is actually trying to accept the food. So in terms of that, maybe using the "clearest" alternative is best.
One more thing to add, "I'm good," is a pretty casual, kind of 若者言い方. I can't really imagine someone like, over the age of 40 using it.
>>697 Because I'm late for a meeting with my friends and typing this while I get dressed, and I don't have time to think of how to write in Japanese. (I'm not Japanese, if you didn't realize.) That's also part of why I was gone from 2ch, I went to Japan for two weeks, then got back to the US and immediately moved from SoCal to Seattle, so was busy getting my shit together. So sad that like none of you know me. Gotta rebuild my rep from scratch again. www Ah well, not that it really matters.
I'm going here: salmondays.org It's like a salmon festival? Apparently this is the season that salmon spawn in the rivers or something, I didn't read it all that closely. But there'll be food and music and w/e, so should be fun. I haven't even done *any* sight-seeing around here and this is like my third week. Been busy with work, though. I was *supposed* to be going with three coworkers. But one of them bailed 'cause he had to get furniture or something for his new apartment, and one of them got into a drinking contest last night and was fucked up this morning so she couldn't like, even crawl out of bed. ww So it's just me and one other guy, who coincidentally just called and said he'd be here in 5 minutes, so won't be around much longer.
