Of course, all kinds of special events are held locally.
However, in the Edo period, those too far to participate built miniature replicas of Mt. Fuji in several places throughout Japan, using actual rocks from the mountain.
The fujizuka (Fuji mound) at A Jinja/Shrine is one of those replicas.
You can climb the miniature Mt. Fuji on June 30th as well as July 1st.
