Hey!!! you NEETS, nerds, Akiba maid-cafe frequenters, Youtube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Gloved hitwoman maniacs, Internet-addicted housewives-in-therapy, Diplomats' spoiled sons, Losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, and Morons in the Red Square who believe Tokyo is the promised land,
Do you know a woman figure skating player "Kimmie Meissner"? She is an American unmber one player and resembles the Korian player "Yuna Kim". But there are key differences. It is the reason that Yuna's thigh is strong though it's thin, but Kimmie's thigh is fragile though it's bold!!
>>8 No,I'm a japanease. By the way,When some person masturbates, his endorfin is secreted and does not feel a pain. So I make it a rule to put a gimlet by the side when I masturbate.
gimlet? you must be crazy. you do masturbate in the morning..bleh
Oh I noticed one thing. your filthy Yuna Kim is a president of your kingdom now lol. she fits well in her position. lol there are pathetic dark horse and unknown citizes so she would enjoy govern the decayed kingdom. lol as well as sex with you in weekends.lol but Korean 16yo girl named Karaoke belongs to me. she's my cute sis. don't ruin her. she's minnneee..
OMG I like Ichiro. I saw him on TV today. He was asked about his condition and his goal of this season or something. He said. "I don't want to have 100% confidence. I just want to keep my confidence at 70 to 80% and with that, I want to surpass people's expectation." his smile was really nice. I liked what he said!
all of the sudden, I have plenty of idle hours...lol I have a question to the native speakers. as you can see, I am Japanese, but how can I speak or write like a native? I just wanted to say something like I am suddenly bored...暇な時間が急にできた。 in this case, how do you write as a native?
it's kind of my dream to be able to speak or write like a native without living in there. but to reach that level is unbelivablly hard for me. I probably need the proofread from a native each time. but it gives me a headache at the same time. lol
>>17 You'll never be able to speak like a native without living in an English-speaking country for a decent amount of time. This is true, IMO, of any foreign language. You have to live in a country that primarily speaks that language if you really want to speak it well. Writing is just as difficult, but for different reasons. At least it's easier to improve your English writing, since even just reading a lot of English newspapers/books/etc. will give you a better feel for the language.
>暇な時間が急にできた。 I would say, "Suddenly I've got a lot of free time."
>>19 oh thanks. gosh....so suddenly I've got a lot of free time will do...that's far easier than what I thought lol Thanks! I better use more plain english then lol
I'm taking debate lesson but I never know the theme of the debate in advance so there is no chance for me to prepare. it's more like a spontaneous speech. but I feel that whenever I try to write some long text of my thoughts here or on some other web site, it helps. because when the theme of the debate would be similar to what I've once written somewhere, it would get easier for me to speak. Including the vocabularies that I need to use in a certain topic.
probably I write too often I am 17 by the way...lol sorry in advance. but siince I have a lot of free time now...^^
hey I have one question.
>He's a nice and funny guy and stuff
stuff...this stuff is kind of understandable. some people write this way, `and stuff` `and all`. does it make me seem more like a native? lol sorry for asking you a silly question.
my dream is to My dream is to read many books, as many books as possible and to be able to speak foreign language as native. and gain a peaceful mind as a winter lake but I don't think it is possible. I am more like a stormy sea. lol
>>19 暇な時間が急にできた。 I've got a lot of free time all of a sudden. ↑How bout it?
By the way,My hobby is the illustolation and the clay work. I like making a girl with paper clay. I like it as same as masturbation. There are several hundred works which I have made. But I can not show it as one. If I show it,I will be arrrested for public indecency.
but I saw a person like you on the TV, TV champion figure championship. some lolicon guy made some exiquiste dolls by clay. how do you think of "releaseing your private life to the public" I don't like it. because the more I know that person, the more I start to dislike him/her. but as for Magibon's fans, they are so excited to view her private life, right? and I think those "private life" would be fake lol
also the thing I hate the most is to be bound by. or controlled by someone. if someone always knows my schedule and call me by cellphone and "what are you doing now?" that's the worst thing for me. I always want to stay free without anybody's disturbance or interference.
As I'm sure most of you know, this girl, MRirian, is a youtuber with the aspiraration to go to Japan who's been posting staring videos. But did you already get an update on what's happening to her lately? Since when she changed her current living place from America to Japan, which isn't true for now, she got uncountable numbers of viewers mostly from America. You know, America is a superpower and its people are so arrogant that the majority of them'd never accept other cultures, especially if it's Japan - they call those with interest in Japanese stuff weeaboos and bash them. Well, um, that's not the point here, hehe. What I'm here for is to inform you that MRirian was finally asked to come to Japan by an IT company named Gyao. (personally the staff members sound/look really disgusting, though). Anyways, check the link I put above. I think it's her choice whether or not accepting the offer, but some of the residents in the thread have been asking for more. They ask about every move she made and make a big deal. That's gross. Like they start to edit wikipedia and make some graphic stuff to entertain her for the valentain's day or something. From an objective viewpoint, the way they are making a big deal is quite disgusting and giving me the creeps. And the attitude Magibon took so far? It was quite stupid, too. She wouldn't listen to anyone if s/he take nuetral opinions, just ignore most of them. The only ones left there were fanatics like "come to japan!! you are kawaii!". Oh, Pathetic. That's why Japanese males are being the target of laughter. But come to think of it, miserable kinds of Japanese old males and MRirian are best matches. Staring Magibon and poor Japanese. lol Better lolz than Emily.
Nagatsu Aiko is the filmmaker who recently received an award of Sundance Film Festival. Kawakami Mieko is the one who received the Akutagawa Award for her writing recently. I've heard the legend that Beautiful women are less talented...but that was not true. they both are so beautiful.
>>32 The men who walks over in anywhere while baring of the body should cover his duck under a leaf. Otherwise, he will be took to a cell of the police station by the people walked near him, just like you did so.
>>47 They're kind of related, but they're not the same. Here's an example.
A: I just got back from a party. It was pretty fun! B1: Oh, really? Did you dance and stuff? B2: Oh, really? Did you dance or something like that?
B1 is kind of more general. B1 is asking, "Did you dance and do other similar things that people usually do at parties (like drink, chat with people, kiss someone, etc.)?"
But B2 isn't asking about what A did in general. B2 wants to know specifically, "Did you dance at the party?" "Is the reason you had fun because you were doing something like dancing at the party?"
Hopefully that clears it up a little... There are a lot of sentences where you can only use one or the other.
What kind of job do you think you want? I think I want to be a journalist or something like that. (can't use "...and stuff")
Did you write all of your essays? Well, I wrote up the outlines and stuff, so I basically finished the hard part. (can't use "...or something like that")
84 Name: Canada Girl : 2006-12-13 05:29 ID:ZSxVEUwM [Del] I just read this whole thread....I'm a Canadian girl who spent a year in Japan. Japanese guys really didn't hit on me, and when they did- they were 10 or 15 years older which creeped me out. I do however have a strong lust for Japanese men and a fascination with all things Japan. I am desperate to go back, to date Japanese men, and Yeah, I can actually speak Japanese.
THEY DONT WANT US, not the other way around.
and I am a clean, slim girl. The only reason I can think of is that my breasts are just too large for them.
according to my analysis, 本玉儿 is not Japanese. many words that he uses are not Japanese guys'. Japanese guys won't say "come out coward". That's my opinion.
>>58 Oh!Are you a clean and slim girl? You are a woman a kind of that I like. You should eat a lot of food until you gain waight more! And you must to make your own thigh miraclous bold.and you learn Karate from Korean Yuna Kim.
>>62 lol I understand what you mean by that. he is saying silly things but always talking if the actress or skater or somebody is strong or not. that's not the Japanese talk, american talks lol and he lacks the delicacy lol he is an american pervert, not Japanese pervert.
>>20 yeah, that's a good idea. but I suggest you not to come on net when trolls are active. try to come on net when those annoying people are not around. www
>>59 Definitely it is. It's because, I think, there's too many differences between modern and classic in culture, meaning of word, common sense, etc. to learn.
I don't think I'm going to pass univestity entrance exam... -_-
>>67 oh then is he Japanese? I wonder...I thought the way of thinking, is a typical american's, he never sounds like a Japanese to me. but that's not a big deal. haha...I gtg.
I think it's OK to ask a small and quick question here but if your question requires long answers then, the thread above is more suitable. Basically this is a thread just to chat, not for Q and A.
>>75 I'm not an ass but I have a painkiller in my anus sometimes. Actulaly, I put it in there two nights in a raw. I wonder how tonight turn out to be.

According to the news, Edithon Cheng said he would break his career as a TV talent. The famous TV talent Edithon will quit because of the nude photos scandal!!
It may snow soon in my area. I'll be working third shift at a auto plant the night it's expected and I may be driving home as it snows. I remember when I was a kid how happy I was when it would snow since it meant that schools would be closed for the day (maybe even two) and if enough fell you could go outside and play in it. Now I hope it doesn't snow since it could cause the roads to become slippery and wet and I don't want to drive in those conditions, especially in the night and early morning hours.
>>88 His anus exploded when he accidentally placed a firecracker in there, but he was saved by a rescue worker whom now he is sort of in love with. He has not yet disclosed if that person is a man or woman, however.

>>88 I'm here. Not much to report. I'm tired of going to hospital every day. I go there even on Saturday and Sunday. If I include the days when I got an injection every day, I have gone to hospital more than one month. It's good I can sleep better now but the sleep is no so deep.
>>91 If a fire cracker works, I don't mind puting it in my anus.
How about Ebi-chan (Ebihara Yuri, the model)? she looks like a slim and cute young girl without the strength but actually she is strong. lol She is famous as the person of KY (kuuki ga yomenai) - the one who cannot read the air..means one who is not good at reading the atmospher or people's mind well and always do something inappropriate at the gathering or stuff like that. Because at the year end music festival last year, she made a mistake but some people say she is the strongest and the most brave MC when Sakai Masaaki lost to proceed his role. it's hard to explain what happened there. lol
陳冠希.... he doesn't seem sorry when I saw youtube. chinese are the people who never admit their fault. that's what I've heard from Kim-sensei. (Kim-sensei herself is a Taiwanese though lol).
The upper case and the lower case is used cluttered. Is this popular among young people? Do they do just for the fun of it or are there any origins of this writing style?
>>103 lol it's hard to read. but I've seen those kind of writings everywhere on net. but that text doesn't mean anything. "til now" is you fixed the time. music is not something like computer. you cannot fix the time when the popularity starts and when it ends lol
I don't like so-called ebichan. She is so pretentious and affected. I get stressed when I watch her make expressions on her face and move conciously. I wish she disappeared from TV.
>>103 Oh God, alternating caps. Every time I see those, I want to punch the writer in the face. Or maybe throw a cup of hot tea over their face, at least. But anyway, it used to be especially popular among "hackers" before 'l33tspeak' was more widely used. I know it's a bad thing to generalise, but most alternating caps I see these days are from Indonesians or Filipinos. It's not really popular among young people, but most people find it incredibly annoying.
Yuna Kim is stronger than Kimmie Meissner. Her strength is absolute, and what is more, heredity. Kimmie is to Yuna what the slave to the king. Therefore Kimmie is servile for Yuna.
you know there are some other strategies in this world. you are repeating the same thing all the time... you should use your brain. if one strategy didn't work, do something else. you know...it seems you are doing variety of things but actually all the same to me.
>>107 I'm happy to find snother guy who agreed with me. thanks. And ebichan syndrome is annoying. girls who tries to act like her. almost always uglier than her, not knowing about themselves.
>>113 LOL ebi-chan syndrome is really annoying to me too. hi 5! but soon or later she'll disappear. but she's just a harmless girl. she's neither smart nor has a beautiful looks (so so I think) but some kind of luck that she owns lead her to suceess. I guess.
she's neither smart nor has a beautiful looks (so so I think)
Uwahahaha. I also agree on this point! she may be cute but actually not so gorgeous. girls may like her because ebithan makes them think that they could possibly reach at her level.
Richard Marx. How touching, mellow, I almost cries listening to his song. I would sing this song in whisper in your ears as nuisance. To this song, someone commented as >>103
Richard Marx........... long forgotten name. typical 80s-90s music. series of catchy and shallow songs. Is he called industrial rock? rogzetto? also come to my mind.
Ebichan is definately gorgeous compared to the general public. If you see her on the street, I bet you can't keep your eyes off of her. Something about her sure appeals to some women. That's why she has been on the front line of modeling industory and acquired her fan base.
>>120 You must be learning Chinese in university as the second foreign language.
What I was impressed most about chinese is when I was chatting with a chinese. I know 成龍 means Jackey Chen and asked a Chinese if he know what it means when chatting online. He answered correctly, which is of course but I felt excited.
>>126 ummm...that's an interesting opinion. as for kimura, I think he is a talented guy, in acting. he is not ordinary...while ebi-chan is too ordinary.
>>130 Kimura is annoying in a sense. seeing as a couple, Kimura and Kudo Shizuka is super annoying. why? becuase they think they are cool while many of us think they are ugly and cheap yankee couple.
>>130 I've never seen through just one episode of his dramas. LOL maybe japanese are easy to be tricked by media. johhnny's actors are given limitless chances arter three or more failures. kamenashi is one example. I don't know what is good about him and masses also don't recognize him. Yes kimura is differendt from kamenashi. He get many chances and also succeeded. he may have allure different from kamenashi and others.
I think korean actors are the same case with kamenashi. japanese dramas with korean actors keep failing one after another. But they keep on appearing. LOL
while many of us think they are ugly and cheap yankee couple.
uwahahaha. Are you me? I totally agree with you. kudo is vulgar and dirty and cheap! their fashions are also not decent. they send their kids to internatinal school. they think it's cool and smarter.
I've heard the Tshirt that he was wearing in a drama...or the down jacket he was wearing in the movie, "Hero" the brown one, was too popular and was sold out within a short period of time.
>>137 HI 5! we should exchange our email address and talk about the celeblities' gossip all the time in order to release our daily stress lol
yep kudo is super annoying. I don't know why but she gets uglier and uglier year after year. she looks confident but ironically that confidence is the most annoying part of hers. lol
>>119 'l33tspeak' is one term used for replacing letters with numbers and other typographical symbols. In the case of the word 'l33tspeak' itself, the number '3' is replacing the letter 'e'. It used to be quite popular years ago among gameplayers, but now most of them have realised it looks stupid, and it's mainly 14 year old kids who play Counterstrike who use it these days.
>>141 You don't know her. You even know okada yukiko but didn't know ebichan. strange. ebichan is ebihara yuri蛯原友里, who is CanCam model. CanCam seems to be must-read book for young fashion-conscious girls.
>>142 Yes exactly. his acting is mannerism. the role that he is able to act is very limited. a cool guy but has no intelligence. I mean I think he is a smart guy but the behavior, his face shows his lack of intelligence. his vocabularies are limited. he needs to read more books, maybe. or learn something new. he's already over 35? but he still looks like a boy...that's embarassing.
lol SMAP is over the hill already. so sometimes I'm embarassed to see them on TV. they should retire from the main part of variety programs in TV. maybe Kat-Tun would take over their place?
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=1eZfYDVfupo&feature=related You can watch Ebi-chan here. Her name is 蛯原友里(えびはら ゆり) as >>143 says. Her nickname is えびちゃん Ebi-chan. えび can mean shrimp so she was used for MacDonald's CM when MacDonald's released shrimp burger.
Nakai is going to get married to Kouda Kumi in June or July. but for me, this couple is even more annoying than Kudo x Kimura. I hope they would find the better parters. lol
>>143 Maybe I'd have been more familiar with Ebihara if she'd killed herself... But as she is, she seems very narcissistic, with the whole "I don't understand how anyone can not find me cute" thing. Of course, maybe she's just made it up for some kind of persona... but I can't really say, having not seen her before.
>>139 That was a little embarrassing to watch... they're really exaggerating their gestures, perhaps to make up for the fact that they can't really say much that would be understood. I've never heard them speak before, though, and it made me laugh to hear just how English Herman Li sounded.
>>151 Rock Fujiyama was one of the best metal shows because every guest guitarist was supposed to act goofy anyway. It's a comedy show with top metal misicians, basically.
>>154 Ahh, I see. We've got absolutely nothing like that in the UK. There are very few shows where the guests act like that, think they're encouraged to act 'proper'. We do have a couple music shows, though, where the guests do sometimes make fools of themselves. Much more interesting to watch. In fact... http://www.tv-links.cc/divx2.php?l=2058432
>>148 Sorry... doing some housecleaning at the moment, so my replies are erratic... thanks for the video, though. We've never had the shrimp burger over here. Anyway, I guess she's pretty, but don't really find her so attractive. Maybe if I was a few years older. Interesting play on words though. Reminds me of when Ringo Starr was used to advertise Surioroshi Ringo...
>>155 mmm.. The link didn't work on my Real Player.. Got an error.. I tried to search it on the top page but couldn't find. Do I need Google Firefox to play it?? That's what it says for some videos there.
>>157 Ah, sorry... the video format is Avi (compressed in DivX), so it needs the DivX web player to play (http://www.stage6.com/download/player/win). If you don't want to use that, I'll try and find another source.
I feel as if I should undertake this venture and attempt speaking in English. However in order to do so I first require a meaningful subject by way of which to converse. Oh what oh what shall we discuss かな。 俺知るかよ? てめー
>>159 The presenter is Jewish and gay, both of which he often jokes about. He's famous for once making Britney Spears cry, a couple years back.
>>160 Haven't seen that one either, thanks. Found his 'Simple Life' appearance too. In lots of commercials, they seem to have a little caption saying who the star is (or stars are), no matter if they're foreign or Japanese. Why is this?
>>151 As for over gesture, look at them. very embarrassing to watch. they pretend to be an american star. shameful. everything american except their faces. huruya shrugs his shoulders and rolls his eyes, waving around his arms like black. I want to hide in the hole.
and their song is plagiarism...http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=ex85QDK4i5c they are helpless. huruya was bullied by a group of zebbra dokyun thugs for several reasons. I don't like both. but fun just to watch fools.
>>177 Good question. I'd be happy if actors and actoresses speak kind of clearly and easily, I mean, not too many slangs and big words, and still really interesting.
I like red dwarf! rimmer is so funny! Is rimmer's character based on british class society? do i think too much? rimmer is so desparete to elevate his rank. he is very proud and delusional. But it doesn't fit his real abiility. he is goofy.
red dwarf is very crazy and surreal. sometimes I think producers are crazy too.
>>181 Haha, good taste. Was just watching series 3 yesterday.
Almost all characters are some sort of parody on aspects of British society. Rimmer is a self-important and neurotic fool, driven mainly by trying to elevate himself above everyone else (when, in reality, he's much too cowardly to take risks to improve things). In a way, he's like a parody of the failure son of a rich and successful family. He aspires to be like those around him (as in >>184's video), but just doesn't have the capacity to manage it. He tries to make himself look superior even to the lowest classes (Lister), but often fails at that too.
It's a very strange show, but very British in its humour.
>>182 To be fair, Rudolph Hess wasn't ever really the life of the party (including the Nazi Party, for that matter - he gained his rank merely from being a lapdog, and not much more).
http://moourl.com/wo66b イギリス人さん、the likn doesn't work. I think dvd with dubbing of japanese may not be availble now. But subtitle would help.
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=W8otwr7ArmA When Lister was asked occupation, didn't he say "bum"? It's called 乞食kojiki or 浮浪者hurousya in japanese. In japan such a cynical humour is abstained from while hitting person on the head and laughing at person's weak point(age, sex, face, bodily features, etc) are o.k. TV is just afraid of being attacked by so-called human right's organization. But they don't have any standard themselves. a strange country japan is.
I want to criticise tv comedy show featuring comedian like 99. They have no talent. just making fun of others and just abnormal. no punch line. no meaning of life. I wish they would die sooner.
And rimmer was a lonely guy? He needs friend but can't get along with others. often his unjustifiable pride offends others. comical but poor man. I suppose that's british too.
>>186 Ahh, yes. Here, we call kokiji 'beggars' and hurousya 'vagrants', I guess. In the UK, the lower classes are often seen as lazy people who avoid work, taking only benefits and welfare from the government as a means of income. The government gives them a house to live in and weekly money while they're "looking for work" (which could last years, depending on just how lazy the person is). This is what we call a 'bum'. I think the fact that he admits it is a reflection on how a large amount of the people on welfare have no intention of trying to improve on their situation.
Also in contrast to what you say about humour in Japanese shows, it's almost opposite here. People don't often make remarks about other people that might be racist, sexist, ageist, or discrimitory, mainly because our society is very over the top with 'political correctness'. Britain is also a strange country.
As for dubbed or subtitled Red Dwarf DVDs, just do a search for "Red Dwarf" on Amazon.co.jp - the language and subtitle descriptions of the ones I saw there both said "Japanese".
shinsuke often makes fun of women's age and mock her missed marriage. for example, isono kiriko used to be the target. I don't like his style. insulting. disgusting. kansai owarai would ruin "beautiful japan". ugly man's heart keeps ugly however money he can gain.
making fun of elderly is shimuraken's signature gag. shimura is from the suburb of tokyo, higashimurayama.
so It may not matter whether they are from kansai or not. shimura also lowered japanese cultural level. Shimura is deified by the media. but he is not talented as kitanotakeshi or matsumoto hitoshi. their gags are often vulgar, but they have a glint of humor others don't have.
LOL I like red dwarf too. my english listening comprehension ability is limited so I can't say I understand it completely but I would say the sense of humor fits me more than that of America's.
one fuuzokujo (風俗嬢)professional sex-related business girl asked me to add me as mymiku. www she said as she has been browsing the pages she found me and interested in me in very modest manner. That's very hornored. I am girl so maybe we can be chat friends. she said that even her profession is sex, she is just an ordinary girl inside. humm....maybe I got to know her more deep in order to learn this world. but only curiosity (I can't deny myself having a curiosity) but it must be rude if I would be too curious and ask her questions like..."what the reason you are doing this business?" etc...lol so I just have the normal conversation with her. lol
応に住する所無うして其の心を生すべし (masani jyuu surutokoro noushite sono kokoro wo shouzu beshi)
it is rather difficul to explain. But let me explain...
It is said in Budhisim, this world is empty. there is nothing that could exist or stay in the same place forever. the world, human, our mind, form, nature, evenrthing is chaging every second, also our body, our mind, emotion. if you'd stay in one place (mentally) life is too hard to live. if your loved one dies, the grief is too huge but human should continue to live. we have to live anyway no matter what. And the above words mean:
Try not to let your mind stay in the same place, let it change freely according to the situation.
I envy English speaking people. Because there are a lot of curse words. we don't have such convenient common words when we are angry. maybe we would say "baka" or "aho" or "omae no kaachan debeso" (your mom has an outie belly button).lol
outie is not bad. but I don't know that's the traditional way to curse somebody when you get mad. and don't forget it always come with "baka kaba chindon ya ♪” this phrase comes before the "omaeno" (stupid fool and a band of musical sandwichmen) so old time Japanese probably considered the monther with outie belly button and the musical sandwichman are two most shameful people. lol
Most Japanese have hard time listening to English, to say nothing of writing/speaking it, even though they somehow read English.
It's said they are much too worried about tiny grammar mistakes to speak English, but the more pressing problem is that they have trouble to say what they have in mind in English.
Personally, all you should do to improve is just write and speak a little more no matter what.
◆At the middle of April, 2007 A talent agency made an offer. She was supposed to have photos taken in Japan two months afterwards. She begged the people here and tried to collect donations.
■details of donation
A japanese talent agency invited me to Japan! ^__^ They are going to take photos of mine. I'm going to meet people of the showbiz world.^^ If my photos catch big attention, I think I can work in Japan!d(^__^)b I need to pay for the trip to Japan. I will be paid no less than minimum wage. So if you can donate, please help me. If you can't, please support me!(^_^) Thank you for reading. OTZ
●opinions from those who disagree with donation ・I can't believe she asked for donation in order to visit Japan. Japanese people would never thought of it. Work and earn money for the trip on your own. Begger. ・I felt bad hearing her ask us to donate. Donation is not prefered in Japan. I hope you to know you can't rule out the possibilities that those who ask for donation might be disliked. ・She was supposed to earn money for college. Why doesn't she have 100 thousand yen now? Go figure.. ・You guys may not notice this because magibon did it. but it's just begging. I think that's what an old kind of swindler ・I wonder why she won't clearly tell us how much money she needs. She's thinking she'll get as much as she can? ・She might want to borrow money from her parents, relatives or best friends. ・I have no idea why she doesn't try to ask for donation on Youtube. She has 40 thousand viewers. Why only here? ・She doesn't try to elaborate. We don't know what talent agency invited her. She only answered to the question about the agency, "it's a good company. Please don't worry." ・She should've explained it more.
●opinions from those who don't take any side. ・I don't disagree with donation. But I'd like you to know you might be disliked by those who are against it. ・I think donation in itself is not a bad idea. Still she should describe more precisely the situation she's in. ・I support her, but I can't donate.
●opinions from those who agree with donation ・It depends on you if you donate or not. If you don't like it, then don't do it. ・She doesn't deserve to be bashed just because she tried to collect donation. It's ridiculous. That's where Japanese people are thought to be idiotic. ・She didn't step out of the line. Donation is not a bad thing to do in the world.
322 :名無しさん@お腹いっぱい。:2008/02/22(金) 18:35:47 ID:Bu47mc8X0 I guess there's someone that knew Magibon in her school days, now that she's big on Youtube and he/she is supposed to write about her, though.
all I need is aplogy. you insulted me too much. aplogy is the only way to escape from the deadlock. otherwise, just leave me alone, ok? just talk general things will do.
lol who are you? I was just talking to the man I met on net. he had been insulting me on net hard day by day over the years. and many people insulted me as well since he maneuvered others. I am requesting him to apologize me. but I don't think he would, his pride is too high and never admit his fault. so I just want to tell him to leave me alone.
Yuna Kim is a strongest woman!! Particulary,The toughness of her thigh is equal to thousand women!!!
Apart from it, there are words to pronounce "ore ga biru ni nottuta" in Korean. This means that "I step on the building" in Japanese, but means that I "set a trap" in Korean. In addition, the words to pronounce "namaniku" means "uncooked meat" in Japanese, but means "only myself" in Korean. Korean is really interesting. The Korean that I know is only "ore ga biru ni nottuta" and "namaniku".
Anyway, now the foods made in China is a problem to bring many harms to the people requiring it. Since the foods are not safe about, I can not have it to eat the Chinese dish while feeling the stress. How are you doing your eating habits?
Hello. I have some questions about Japanese, hopefully you won't mind me asking them here.
First off, how do you say "to allow someone to do x"? Examples can be "to allow someone to speak/talk" and "to allow someone to eat".
Secondly, and more importantly, there's the 「Xの時」sentence structure that gets me. Can you check if my translations here are correct, and also if the Japanese sentences are correct?
Example one: 食べ過ぎた時、御母さんに電話を掛けました。 My translation: When I had eaten too much, I phoned my mother.
Example two: 食べ過ぎた時、御母さんに電話を掛けます。 My translation: When I have eaten too much, I phone my mother. I'm thinking that this sentence may be wrong because of the tenses.
Example three: 食べ過ぎる時、御母さんに電話を掛けました。 My translation: This sentence is wrong because of the tenses don't mix.
Example four: 食べ過ぎる時、御母さんに電話を掛けます。 My translation: When I eat too much, I phone my mother.
Hii I am currently looking for a language partner. A bit about myself, I am a Master student in Economics at a graduate school in Tokyo. Although I have passed JLPT Level1, I am not confident in forming sentences and speaking in Japanese. As such, I am looking for a language chatting partner online (MSN or Yahoo Messenger etc). You can type in English and I will correct your grammatical errors while you will correct my Japanese. Write me a mail with a brief introduction of yourself. I Look forward to hearing from you! qqsyd189 atttt yahoo.co.jp
>>234 The literal translation of "to allow someone to speak/talk" would be 「話すこと/話をすることをゆるす」, but you can just say 「話させる/話をさせる」, which means 'to let/have/make someone talk' but it depends on context.
The second Japanese example is ok because the tense is not as strict as that of English. It is actually a natural sentence. The third one doesn't sound good, but it would sound ok if you changed it into 「食べ過ぎると、御母さんに電話をかけました。」, which suggests that you used to call your mother when you ate too much. And this change can apply to the forth one too. Other than that, everything looks fine to me. Hope this helps.
>>238 Life as a hikikomori is boring and lonely. Way to miss a lot of fun. I know it by myself because my current lifestyle is pretty close to typical hikikomori again...
I don't think the the context of the sentense sounds natural. Why on earth do you call your mom when you eat too much? Too report to her that you are full and satisfied? To report you are about to vomit due to eating too much? Sounds odd.
>First off, how do you say "to allow someone to do x"? Examples can be "to allow someone to speak/talk" and "to allow someone to eat".
Sometimes it's more easy to explain if you are given the whole sentense.
Johnny Depp was elected as number one for five straight years in the poll of the japanese movie magazine by readers. Is he so good? This record matches the record that Alan Delon established decades ago.
Johnny Depp is rather plain faced probably because he is one-fourth american indian. Orlando Bloom was at second. Is he inferior version of Beckham? Any way, the influence of Pirates of Carribean, which I've never watched, seems to be great.
Thick lip monster Angelina Jolie is at first in women's division. The second is actress from Pirates of Carribean again. The name was kylie or something like that. Angelina Jolie is well sculpted face, has thick lips(trend from black) and blue eyes. in a way typical european face. I think that yearning for girls like Angelina becomes stress for japanese girls. too gap and too many efforts to fill the gap. japanese man? also stress. LOL
I wonder whether such an abnormarity occurs randomly or just inheritance. If it's inheritance, we can weed the bad gene and annihilate it once and for all.
>>243 Personally, I think Johnny Depp is quite diverse as an actor, not being typecast in any one role. Surely this is more important than looks? In the case of Orlando Bloom, I think looks probably won over talent, because I'm not really impressed by any of his roles. He always plays the same type of character and really just lacks significant personality, at least on television appearances.
I can't really comment on Angelina Jolie much, but she seems to be what a lot of girls aim for, not just Japanese. Apparently one of the most common requests in plastic surgery is for lips like hers (though apart from her nose, she seems to be natural). A lot of people also respect her for her humanitarian efforts in third world countries. Keira Knightley is more diverse than Orlando Bloom, but I still don't think she's that great an actress. In a survey by the RNIB (by blind people), she was voted as having the second sexiest voice (Sean Connery came first).
>>251 Why? I am honest. I proposed the world where we tolerate transgender people. cos It might be one of human nature. But if it's a disease and can be cured, we must not hesitate to think another step. transgender people can chose not to have their children with the same disease. Not obligatory but option should be given. I think many christians would agree with the option. And most Christians are against nazis.
HaHaHa. But most of transgeder people ended up in having no children? And still transgenders are kept being produced.. Is it given fact? But I go so far as to say Guys like Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacie should not leave their genes...
>>271 I will let you know the perfect way. It's like a perpetual motion machine. You masturbate and ejaculate as always. then drink your cums. You can eat meals as well as masturbate.
>>273 I grasp my penis by right hand and masturbate recklessly. I grasp a retractable knife or a gimlet or a sharp pencil with left hand and stick my thigh with it at a moment of the ejaculation. Of course, My my pinup raising sexual excitation for masturbation is Yoko Osita or Yuna Kim.Who is your onapet?
>>276 Hmmm. You can produce your children by yourself. You must like comics which loli-girls with tentacle.
>>275 I grasp a retractable knife or a gimlet or a sharp pencil with left hand and stick my thigh with it at a moment of the ejaculation.
Is it a real story? If so, You are a real hentai! Congratulation. But don't commit suicide. please.
You seem to be obsessed with yoko oshita. Haven't you posted about yoko oshita again and again on another thread which is about english ability of entertaiment people.
>>287 Hmm, it's an interesting question. For me, the favourite pervert man is that very geneous, but he's good at sex and date techniques including chatting with women, knowing what the woman like, and pleasing them.
I just spiced up your description to perfect what a real pervert should be like. And actually, I don't read 本玉儿's posts, so I'm not really sure on what he says.
>>292 Ah, I see what you mean. My description of >>289 was slightly different from a real pervert, ha ha ha.
My defenition of the pervert is exposing his or her ugly body to other people, touching women's boobs and bottom, and writing nasty words on the internet in a sarcastic way.
>>302 Terry Ito is uneducated sanababitch. He probably has a little talent but nothing more than that. just a coward guy. He pretends to be smart and tough.
He is a typical sample of "弱い犬ほどよく吠える” the weaker the dog is, the louder it barks
I feel pity on this Ghanaian guy. He just said his opinion. He did nothing wrong.
>>302-303 I don't watch the video, but particular people are only doing the racial discrimination. As well, since he is a man employed by any sponsor, so his talks may be not a will as himself.
>>304 Mabey Terry was calculating the viewing rate of the TV program? Even so, why he thinks it's fun, I wonder. a person without intelligence cannot act reasonably.
I think terry was just tring to get attentions and make the program amusing. terry was not only a regular guest but also TV producer.
I don't like him personally though. his program is too staged and vulgar. I prefer his pupil, ochimasato's programs like gachinko and zero zero celeb. They are also staged but too apparent and fun.
Terry is such a disgusting guy that most of Japanese people, particurally those on the internet, dislike him. He should learn what manners mean. He's always barking, shouting, cursing. I'm sick of it, even if it's a performance.
In a way terry's existence itself is very TV oriented. And this fact gets him to look more evil. very bad chain reaction.
Terry is a very emotional man. It can work the other way around too. Sometims he can be very compassionate in a exaggerated way.
He applaused a korean guy who was allegedly said to have saved a drunken man from the train rail and said with tears that he deserved national People's Honor Award. People's Honor Award? Do you belive it?
And this story turned out to have very unnatural points, maybe fraud.
TV and terry tend to be lenient to and overpraise koreans.
Changing the subject, there is the thing that I ever rubbed the top of my penis with glass paper. As a matter of course, blood flowed out of my penis and had a pain in it. I had a pain so as to exclaim with "WHUKKK!!".
I decided not to come here ever again, but thanks to the strong request and support from my fans, I rose from the grave. What do you want to talk about?
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=D9pNHtAAEVM nanako is flying at the first scene. approxiamately around at 1:07, nanako (jumped) and flyed to the sky. Do you understand?
Even japanese native speakers distinguish を and に intuitively. There must be the right explanation in the linguistics aspect. But I can't if oredered to explain right away.
>>367 I think the sentence, 飛行機は空を飛ぶ itself is alreay strage. because 飛=とぶ、fly 行=いく、go, practice 機=き、machine therefore, 飛行機itself already means "the machine that flies and goes away". so you don't really have to explain what does this machine do. Kanji is excellent because each character has meaning.
fly to where? usually in the sky. where else would the machine go? only outer space. in that case these words;宇宙船 宇宙=outerspace 宙=up the air 船=ship only make sense.
the sentence is repeating like this, "be panctual to the time". panctual already contains about the time. what else we can be strict to. hope you understand. ちょっと粘着でした、(笑)I just had a time to post so...
I am not sure. maybe "at" or "in" "through". go to Japanese tutorial web site and ask an expert. this is a chat thread. we just talk and have some fun. don't ruin everwhere as 本玉.
>>370 Accusative case: The accusative case (abbreviated ACC) of a noun is the grammatical case used to mark the direct object of a transitive verb. The same case is used in many languages for the objects of (some or all) prepositions
29: "You know, America is a superpower and its people are so arrogant that the majority of them'd never accept other cultures, especially if it's Japan - they call those with interest in Japanese stuff weeaboos and bash them."
Not really, it's just that people sometimes become TOO fanatical about the things they like and that could even become creepy at some point.
Pistachio nuts are delicious. Bought an 800 gram bag the other day, and have managed to eat all but about 150 grams. Though they taste really nice, there is a price to pay (other than the actual monetary cost). After prying open hundreds of shells, I've got a nice blister on my thumb. Still trying to decide whether it was worth it...
pistachio nuts are what i liked years ago. sometimes you need a pincher to crack it
when i was a kid, i used to crack umeboshi( salted soft plum ) seeds with my teeth and eat the content. it was delicious With my old teeth, cracking is far longer passed behind impossible
Daniel Day Lewis's filsm are too sexy. was that love story in which homosexual guy with an Indian immigrant his movie? (I happend to see that movie long time ago on TV but I don't remember the title) that was one of the most excellent movies....geez... daniel day lewis...he is an artistic guy. I hope he would get an award.
Thank you for your reply! My check and neck is still swollen and I cannot eat hard things, so I have lost 5kg(!) after I had the surgery. Maybe, to have wisdom teeth removed is good for people who need to lose weight, like me^^.
I requested airport pickup to ISP. I will arrive at San Francisco International Airport at 9:18 on February 29th.
It is good to hear that another international student will stay with me! While she is 18 and has just graduated from highschool, I am 20 and has left university, so I am a little worried whether I will be able to get along well with her, but I wish we will be good friends.
Could you tell me what kind of bags students in US use when they go to university?
Thank you for your reply! My cheek and neck are still swollen and I cannot eat hard things. I also lost 5kg(!) after having the surgery. Maybe having wisdom teeth removed is good for people who need to lose weight, like me^^.

I have attached a picture of my dog.
(It's nice to see your plans are finally happening! Seems like months since seeing your first post asking for help with the inital letter.)
>>378 The plums we have here have very hard seeds, and they really don't taste so nice (the seed, not the plum). Have yet to try umeboshi, though I don't like dried fruit much.
>>381 Are you a foods rights activist? Just for that comment, I'll hunt down a family of uni and eat them.

825 :名無しさん@お腹いっぱい。:2008/01/28(月) 12:37:50 ID:duLAh7fS0 >>823 Hi. Magibon.元気そうだね。How is your Laptop? I sent you Yoube message Just now. There is "an information" about Japan I've already sent you January 26,2008 But the content of the message sent today is more detailed. Please read it. (^O^) Im Varion7. and the man who posted about "Denshaotoko" here.
Varion7 is trying to appeal to Magibon in 2ch. He knows MRirian can't ignore him in here because if she skips his post, then others will take her as a rude person. And yeah, that worked. Varion7 would've been ignored if he hadn't talked to her that way! Did you see his Youtube page? lol That's kind of stupid. lol
Hey, it's really nice and funny to watch Magibon's fanatics doing their stuff. If you ask me, Varion7 is really tactful. you know, Magibon got as many comments and messages on youtube, and it's likely she won't read them if posted only there. But when those posters come and say hi to herself, she can't help but respond to them, like Oh, varion7! you're one of my fans! The best way to draw attention to himself.
I suggest all of you here in this thread that LOVE Magibon should post comments, send messages and talk to her in her threads. I'm 100% sure she should write back to you! :D
>>398 I just went to Magibon's youtube. I saw it once or twice before but I really didn't take much time to read the comments. But just few minutes ago, I just noticed those who write comments are mostly the haters. I agree with them. What the hell she is doing there? staring only..so creepy. how come she's gets so many fans in Japan.
>>401 To begin with, just to make this clear, I'm not so interested in magibon herself, but yeah, I must admit as you said, she's boring, yes. But That's nothing to do with blinded fans, from what I understand, though. it's sort of funny to watch fanatics trying to make themselves known to Magibon. lol
Anyway, how many do you think there are? I don't think it'd be fewer than you thought there were.
Let's say she's got a million veiwers and 0.1 percent of them are interested in her. It's still 1000, huh?
This is a good chance for Varion7 to send another e-mail to MRirian. He will take advantage of this and explain, "it's not meeee! I'm your loyal fan! Marry me, Magibon!" or something like that.
>>396 It's better than nothing. Varion7 must be really happy to be friends with Magibon, because he loves her. Chances are, someday, he can date her.
Do you think it's good to meet a girl on the internet and fall in love with her at a first sight? Varion7 should do whatever he can to get Magibon's heart. I'll watch over him with a weak smile on my face.
I don't think Magibon is a good speaker of Japanese, nor does she talk about things. What does she want? Staring at Japanese people in person? How sloppy..
>>411 What's the matter with you? Varion7 what? He's perhaps really a good guy. Every person who is supporting Magibon is good. Those who hate her is really evil.
>>404 I'm not 401, but thank you for the eplanation. ^_~ I'm deffinitely sure Varion7 is commited to Magibon's memory.
I think Magibon really wants to read all the comments left on her videos, and she used to reply before she got famous on Youtube, if those comments are nice. XXXD
And she's keeping in contact with Gyao staff members. They says they're planning "ProjectMagibon" (it sounds like a code name. Cool, huh?) and advertise Magibon as a talent. So don't worry about her that much! (._.)
GyaO, or any another single company is not enough for those who wanna be a sort of idols. MRirian must be more independent and separate her bases for the moment.
Otherwise GyaO maybe so pushy and act willfully later. Overconcentrarion is often brittle in the tactics.
>>421 so you are one of the Magibon's fanatic? that's why you have been talking about her all the time? but do you notice that it's so boring to hear about her because we are not interested in her. nobody seems to like her on this thread.
Companies are making profits from all their concerings. That is what companies stand for. Their raison d'etre. In other words, they don't care about the people who don't bring them any profits and stuffs.
In your idea, all companies shouldn't be pure white. The issue is not so simple though.
>>421 I just commented >>420 back. And for your information, I've never said I am supporting Magibon. That's why I put it in an objective viewpoint. See?
Actually I think MRirian is wise. It's no doubt. YouTube - 2ch - GyaO those are most effective combinations I've ever imagined. That's why she worked it out so far. IMO.
However at the time of present there seem to be only two choices for her. Double suicide with GyaO at last, or using them as a step to higher states.
Now she might need another Information Technology, e.g. Skype cast, SNSes (prefer English basis) and other new communication devices.
Japanease NEETS shut themselves up in private room and masturbate in front of a PC every day. His face at that time is furious! In the world of his delusion , he is stronger than Kakuta! But actualy he will be weaker than Yuna Kim!
>>432 Absolutely no. I'm not Varion7. He is still pure. :D Don't you know the girls there whose boobs are much bigger than MRirian ? I don't know but supposed to be there.
And any problems happen when I love or don't love The most famous YouTuber in Japan ?
>>436 I don't know much about Varion7. From what he (?) said, I thought he maybe (less?) harmless.
What do you think ? You mean you love the parts of womens' bodies separately ? If so, talk with this real pervert about Yoko Oshita's boobs and nipples, please. XD
I don't understand what 「x+てフォーム+ばとかはとかが」means.
With 日本語の勉強本 I tried to say books that teach Japanese to English speakers, but I realized that I couldn't really say that, so I included a note on it.
With「x+てフォーム+ばとかはとかが」I meant words such as (probably spelled wrong here, but bare with me): 話せば、すれば、死ねば, basically any verb with ば, は, or が affixed to them to make them mean "if you talk", "if you do", "if you die". How does this system work?
Also, how do you make commands without the て form? How does it function for all the different word classes? Example: 話して, 話せ.
I guess you are talking about the conditional form. You can simply change the ending sounding "-u" to "-eba"; "hanasu" to "hanaseba.' See under Conditional eba form: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_verb_conjugations
You might have gotton this mixed up with the te form.
Wow. Norway. Cold and no night country. I can understand People can easily feel neurotic.. But 24 hour light might keep people vivid... difficult. I think the most famous person of Norway is Munk. His drawings left the strong image on norway. blue and pure and afflicted image. .. Or did he just embody Norway?
And a sad history. Norway was invaded and occupied by Nazi-Germany. And a story of Lebensbornchild... This mental scare might have norwegians deny their racial pride, does't it?

Oh, No I forgot to delete these sentences. I'll rewrite as below. --------------------------- In japan it's (relatively) very cold winter and night is shivering.. I don't know the exact reason. But the high ratio of sucide rates seems to be related to midnight sun phenomenon. And affuluent, welfare state seem to have high suicide rates.
I heard seattle was a white-centered and rich city, but it had high sucide rates. Maybe Seattle bore Nirvana. rich and no difficulity in daily life still in despair... I 'm not a fan of them though. Self-pity, narcissistic youth may be their target.
Magi, I don't want you to be right, but I want you to try to be right. Me too, I don't want to be right, but I want try to be right. Do you understand?

So why you changed Varion to Variton ? Any suggestions ?

Sorry for my self-talking. But I've never really thought to kill myself. Coz I love my grand mother so much and dont make her sad, however she has gone many years ago.
Then I'm not that guy. You mean the guy in this thread who copied and pasted his posts here, right ?
Anyway nobody can be allowed running away from himself without price. If he did it, then his friends and family will be panished. Only winners can run away in capitalistic society. LOL
I'm Japanese. I didn't take it as an offense though. :P Nozawa might be a good option, because it's not too far from where I live. http://www.nozawaski.com/
You foreigners cannot easily distinguish chinese and japanese from outer appearance. But I(we) can tell from the atmosphere.
A decade ago I got on a train of yamanote line. There was a woman who looked in his 30s on the opposite seat. She glared at me and her eyes were directed straight forward. I got to be unable to see her eyes and turned my face away because she was so sharp-eyed. I did nothing wrong. But she looked always furious and hey eyes were flaring. I could learn immediately she was not japanese. Probably chinese. The expression of face and eyes and behaviour are so different.
It is the case with politician too. Chinse politicians look more clever and shrewd, smiling cynically. If they laugh and shake hands with, their eyes are not laughing.. Japanese politicians looks dumb and watered-down.
It was time of the seventh grader that I learned masturbation. I did it in rest room. When I took a shit, felt sexual desire suddenly , rubbed my penis. I rubbed my penis like a mad beast. A large quantity of sperm gushed out of my penis like a brick before long. This experience brought fresh surprise for me. I may not forget this experience throughout my life.
At that time , I had a microscope. I have observed my sperm with a microscope.
I can send you some on msn if you like? also..they have some more 'happy' sounding songs..lol
have you heard any new bands lately? I should probably listen to more visual kei. I've only been listening to tujiko noriko, daft punk and the mars volta lately. haha
keke thanks Yasmina! ^^ we should listent to the music of Visual kei band more often, ne! and to missionize their music throughout nerds on 2chan is our job^~ we are the evangelists ^^
I take a fancy to nanako's puffy and round but long limbs. Immmature but developing... Innnocent and cute. untouchable. I can't touch her. Cute and adorable. How do you think?
Do you like Kanako Higuti? In addition, do you think that the Kanako Higuti's thigh is tougher than Tomoko Hosino's thigh? I think that Kanako Higuti's thigh should have been tougher than Tomoko Hosino's thigh. I always masturbate , thinking about only it.
>>486 Wow, you produced sperm at that age? I got into puberty pretty late, so when I jacked out, nothing ever came out (which was awesome, I wish it would still be like that instead of this messy goo).
The first time I jacked off was after I found one of my father's S&M movies, hahahahaha. It was in German.

What do you like in the Japanese comics? I like comics called "Usio to Tora". A girl called Sekimori Hinowa appears in this comic. I like her boyish face very much! And , in the confrontation scene of Kagari and Nao, I thought that Nao should have won, but Kagari beat. My penis erected so as to explode! ! I was sorry at all.
Do you know the Japanese comics called "Ryu rou den"? A girl called Renfa appearing in this comic is my favorite character. And I dislike YueIn and Tengel. But there is the scene Renfa wad holden Yuein lightly. To see it, I was annoyed so that my penis burst ! Do you understand this feeling?

Anyway, what's the last line? Is that for sure? I've never heard of North Korea kidnapping New Yorkers. If that's true, how come America did akmost nothing about NK's abductions?
She can't beat nanako sos, who is naturally pure. Real nymph. Magibon is somewhat aiming at sexually arousing purpose. It's bad.Dirty. And she is too old to pretend to be an innnoccet girl.
Are you a foreigner? you can't understand japanese lyrics, can you? lyrics are so sentimental, ephermeral and romantic. Don't you want to protect her from evil?
Why don't we talk about a member of the US marines raping a girl in Okinawa? There are many cases of US soldiers committing a crime in Japan. And this case was probably the most recent one.
>>561 It's true. However (from experience, at least), trying to change the topic in here when this whole Magibon thing is being discussed is like trying to punch your way through a wall made of diamond. With the exception of 本玉儿さん, I'm sure someone will come up with a topic that everyone can join in...
>>567 What the heck are you saying? They should be punished where they commit crimes. Don't think they can get away with it.
I'v read editorials in the newspaper that says the US marine members don't give a shit like in Europe, but when it comes to those staying in Asia, they stop being decent and respectful. The same kind of cases have been happening again and again and again. Worst, they commit murder.
Hmm, they are phisically trained, but not mentally. Why do American troops, though they are supposed to protect people, kill ordinary citizens? They need to be disciplined.
>>591 analyzing your posts, though I haven't read all of them, comparison of two equivalent is the main theme of your life. and you just said you belonged to two unis, lol
I doing masturbation regularly every night. I usually make Yoko Oshita a pinup raising sexual excitation for masturbation, but sometimes make Yuna Kim a onapet. Both women are the indispensable leading role for my onanism kingdom. I let these two women fight against the other women in my onanism kingdom. Yoko Oshita must be the strongest in the world! !
I wish I were so passionate about life as this guy. I can't even try to think about going to university to do good in the future. It's mathmatical impossibility for me.
>>628 He was from Moscow, and kept talking about his dream to "move to Tokyo and marry a Japanese girl". He was also studying history at university or something, and was failing it. His rich father exiled him to Siberia after seeing his exam results, though, and we haven't heard from him since.
I have been abroad for just 2weeks only once. I envy everyone can write in english in conversational way. I mainly have learned english for entrance exams so my english is very awkward.
>>633 Abroad? Where exactly is it? America? Igirisu? How was it? Did you have fun? What's the one biggest event that had happend during your stay that was most unexpected to you?
I know very well there are some people like 629 that are annoying in 2ch, while I was ROM till I finshed all examination. Actually, i wonder if there are very few female in 2ch?
>>634 When referring to yourself in third person, you could say "one", whichever gender you are. "One went to the park today to sip tea". This is extremely formal, however, and not often used.
>>637 I went to Newzeland when I was a junior high school student. Students who have good grade in English are chosen to go. well but I was just as I passed pre2grade step test when I was in 3th grade in junior high school. so I was afraid I was not very good at english.
>>649 NO,NO. this nick name doesn't have any special means. This means white butterfly. I just think I have some nickname and then I brows a dictionary and I find small white.
And you have good intuition. I am just 149cm tall.
Am I allowed to post here? There was a student from Japan helping with our Japanese class the day before yesterday. She seemed taken aback by the informal nature of the class. Or perhaps it was that some of us were wearing T-shirts under our coats, which I hear is not customary for the season-conscious Japanese.
I had been hoping to be an ALT in Japan, however, I am apparently not the type of person they are looking for. My academic credentials are good, but they want someone, it seems, who is very positive, outgoing, and even "bubbly". Such people are not representative of English speakers. Selecting only such people to teach English may very well cause some steretypes of English speakers. However, I must admit the American stereotype of Japan is much more skewed, most of us having little to no contact with native Japanese speakers.
Hi guys. I can answer any English questions if you like. By the way, a lot of us aren't taught grammar very well, so it might be difficult for us to answer questions like >>634 what is English's gender neutral third person singular noun? >>641 This is correct
>>641 It's not formal. It just sounds retarded. You could simply refer to yourself in the third person by using your own name. For example, if the speaker's name was Danny:
>>634 Casually, people say "their" in place of "his" or "her". But it is not correct. This is actually a source of much consternation among native speakers. It used to be acceptable to just use "he" in a gender neutral sense, but due to gender politics, this is no longer acceptable. One can use "he or she", "his or her", but this is very awkward and is only done if the sentence cannot be rephrased so as to avoid gendered pronouns.
"This "his or her" is very ugly." Yes, it is. "Do you have one word that can replace it?" No, we don't. The only thing we can do is rephrase, such as "Persons with ipods must destroy them immediately," or "Anyone possessing an ipod must destroy it immediately."
>>669 ahhhh I understand exactly what you mean. that is really troublesome when we talk about people in general. I always have to say he or she h/she. I also want to know if there is one convenient word to replace it.
Isn't it "They have to destroy their ipods immediately?" I mean "their ipod" should be " their ipods"? It's very difficult to tell whether a noun is countable or not. How do you tell the difference when you don't know the word?
>>673 The problem with using "they" or "their" is that they are _not_ singular. So if you say "They have to destroy their ipod immediately," this implies that there is one, single ipod possessed by the entire group.
You could say "They have to destroy their ipods immediately," but even here, you must be careful. This sentence would be compatible with there being a group of say, 5 ipods shared among say, 30 people. When you want to talk about what _each_ person must do, "they" or "their" are to be avoided.
>>669 He or she is how a native speaker would usually say it, though >>665 is correct when they say "they" is very commonly used.
"They should destroy their iPod immediately" would be universally understood by English speakers, and can apply to both singular or plural people. However, as >>665 also says, a lot of language professionals reject the usage of 'they' in this way (linguists, speakers, publishers, etc.). The everyday English-speaker uses it commonly, though.
"They have to destroy their ipods immediately." Can mean they (1 person) or they (multiple people) "ipods" means you are referring to more than one ipod. "ipod" by itself just means one ipod. All nouns are countable. You can have more than one noun by using the proper conjugate. Table -> Tables Wall -> Walls television -> televisions
There are some exceptions though. Like: Sheep -> Sheep Geese -> Geese So be careful.
he/his/him and she/her/her are very common way of referring to someone in English language. how is it very ugly? If you do not know the gender of the person you're referring to, you can say "her or she" or "they" if you write it, you can just type s/he
>>661 You mean you are more resereved and less assured and shy type American? Looking back my high school days, my image of American was athletic, cheerful character, not being get carried away by small things. I think these stereotype image comes from Hollywood movies or musicians.
Now I know not all Americans don't fit in the image. If you are interested in Japan, applying for ALT might be one of your carrer path but personally I think you should think about what you can do after you get the years of ALT done. I don't know but maybe becoming ALT will just lead you to be a language teacher after working as ALT so if you want to keep your carrer path more wide and keep your choice of line of job more wide, maybe becoming ALT is not a good idea.
Well, actually I don't know what kind of carreer path ALTs goes along after they finishes working as ALT so you need to reasearch on your own.
>>682 This isn't quite right, many nouns are not countable. These are called "mass nouns". Examples include sugar, water, air. You can say "Please put more sugar in my coffee," but you cannot say "Put 5 more sugars in my coffee" unless you were talking about countable terms, such as sugar packets or sugar cubes.
>>686 You are right, ALT may not be for me. I would like to learn the language and culture and I feel this is difficult to do from thousands of miles away. I have a Bachelor's in computer science so I may go back to that.
>>687 "They" can only function that way in casual speech.
>>688 Yeah, you're right- I totally forgot about those words. I don't know if there's a specific rule to follow or if you just have to end up memorizing those specific words one at a time.
>>679 Thank you for detailed explanation. "...and can apply to both singular or plural people." ← this is crazily maddening. I have to imput this in my brain.
>>711 Where I was, it was just a faint tremor which lasted for about ten seconds. It was pretty annoying though, because my bowl of pistachio shells dropped onto the floor. At the epicentre, there was some structural damage, but nobody was injured.
Apparently it was our biggest earthquake in 25 years, which isn't really saying much...
>>704 No, there is no need to memorize. If it is not easily countable, it is a mass unit. Common sense will help you here. You cannot count water or air, for example. Think of another term, like rice. You do not count the grains of rice (well maybe you do, but English speakers don't), so it is a mass term.
>>715 Biggest in 25 years? LOL You guys are very lucky! I would assure there is no ... I don't know how to say what I want to say so I don't say it. Thank you.
>>722 Yes, actually I'm currently looking for a job Even though I can't go outside of my room. If I go outside the room, I start to spasm. It's true. I thought it was an earthquake.
Do you think that Yoko Oshita's hip is tender? Yoko Oshita's hip is surely so soft. However, it is hard to break off. In other words Yoko Oshita's hip is soft but is tought. Why is it? I think that the reason is because Yoko Oshita is terrible ! And about Aiko Kaitou is just the reverse.
>>725 That's right, even if you saw me you'd be fooled. I even had plastic surgery to make me look English and have spent years perfecting my tea-sipping techniques. Now, please excuse me while I adjust my bowler hat.

>>771 I'm from Finland, so English isn't my native language, but I can speak it as well as anyone from America or England. I can speak Finnish, Swedish, English fluently and currently working on learning the Japanese language. Most Europeans speak pretty good english, but not all. For example Spanish and Portuguese people aren't fluent in English. Also some people are just bad at learning a new language and never really use it, so I can't say they're fluent. However, even they understand English very well because of the computer age. (All computer related stuff, games etc we play are in English)
>>764 What I've heard is that if Japanese people do not like you, they will whisper behind your back. If Korean people do not like you, they will beat you up. Barely 50 years ago racist outlaws would hang black people for advocating civil rights. So America is still very sensitive about race issues.
>>779 I don't know your nationality. I think koreans are more passionate than Japanese. That's what we feel when we see their rooting at the soccer games. not only Japanese but also anybody in the world gets get angry if getting some sufferings, it is not healthy to bottle up the stressful feeling so manybe they talk bad. lol
>>778 Hmm. I don't really have an opinion nor much knowledge of Russia, but with the image I have of them I wouldn't trust them too much. So much crime and corruption there. This being said, I don't hate anyone based on where they're from. >>780 thank you (´∀` ミэ )Э
Sorry, I don't know this movie. I looked it up at imdb.com and it seems interesting, a japanese movie shot in Finland.
>>783 hummm....you don't know that movie at all? that's strange.. I mean if you liked Japan and you were finnish, 120% of percentage you must have seen it long time ago. that's what I thought lol
>>782 Americans are like this too. They are apt to wear their hearts on their sleeves. This is especially true in New York City, where I lived for a while after growing up in the South.
>>787 has anyone invented a specialised cover for laptops so they can be safely used in onsens? ( ´∀`)
And no, we only spend like 15-20min in sauna, I think people can live that long without their laptops. Myself, I go to sauna like once a year. Not everyone is so keen about them.
>>802 Hello there! The scones were alright, but nothing special. To be honest, I don't really like them much. A slice of cheesecake would be nice, though.
I have never heard English scones are good. Yes, I sometimes have one that's made in Japan, but I guess Japanese scones are made to Japanese tastes. This may be a stereotype, but people say English cuisines are *ucking disgusting. No offence.
After dinner I am back in the discussion. The Finnish guy.
>>795 no, i dont speak any russian. >>796 the latter sounds a bit dumb, having "one" twice. If the sentence is meant in the manner "Everyone must destroy their ipods immediately" you can also say "You must destroy your ipod immediately" "you" can mean a single person or it can be a plural you-passive.
in the latter sentence, if you use "one has to / must.." replace the one's with "their" "one has to destroy their ipod immediately" but like said in >>798 the whole sentence is a little weird.
Feel free to ask me any questions about the English language, I'll do my best to answer
Oh! I have an idea! Why don't we creat a fan thread for イギリス人?
Magi chan has her threads where she posts. Why not for him? I guess the most suitable board would be the "self-introduction" board. What do you think, イギリス人?
>>824 The first one is very slightly grammatically incorrect. The s after ipod makes it a plural. Since "everyone" referes to more than one person, we can assume there's more than one ipod as well.
If you say "one has to" then you have to use the singular form, "ipod" This part is pretty hard to explain, but "one" is a singular form while "everyone" means a group of people
Sorry, I'm bad at explaining this part. Hope you understood
>>822 Wahahahaha, that would be really descriptive. I can easily imagine what it was like. Nice work.
>>823 Oh? you think so? But I guess that'd be ok with him. Mostly, such threads should be created not only for イギリス人, but also for none other than his fans herselves.
>>820 Thank you for answering my question. Too bad! You don't speak Russian, eh? I asked the question because I was curious to hear your review on "Kukushka" (2002). It was an interesting movie. A Finnish man, a Russian man,and a Lapp woman live together but they cannot understand one another's language. Please tell me your take on the movie if you already watched the movie and of course if you don't mind.
>>814 I wouldn't say disgusting, but in general, British food can be quite bland. Herbs used in typically English food is quite limited (just think of parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, mint and chives).
>>808 Users of American English often feel that using 'one' as a pronoun is pretentious, but in British (especially English) English, using 'one' is acceptable and doesn't really sound strange.
However, as discussed earlier, an even more common way of expressing gender-neutral third person pronouns is by using 'they' and 'their'. Though it's technically incorrect, most English-speakers use this method. They have to destroy their iPod immediately. 'They' indicating the person (neutral of gender) and 'their' indicating possession.
>>813 Though neither of those are bowler hats, it is a pretty English sentiment to wear hats. Or at least to honour the memory of hats, as they were very commonplace before the 1960s. A lot of older British musicians wore hats, though it's mainly the slightly eccentric ones that still do, these days.
>>812 If you could have any type of cheesecake, what type would it be?
>>832 I live under the rock and watch very few movies (`・3・) Sorry about this. If you ask me if i've seen this or that movie, most likely I haven't even heard of it. I mainly watch only anime, but my friends drag me to movies now and then to watch some really popular hollywood movies.
>>835 Just imagine those 30 to 40 something y/o women rush to the thead to feed him with scones or muffins. Actually, that would be interesting to watch. lol
>>829 I dont mind what you think of me but I'm definitely male. And one of Magibon's funs loving Cheesecakes too. This time I just need イギリス人さん's comment for my grammatical knowledge.
>>799 No, I don't know any Russian either. Just English, and some German.
But how come you're asking this question in Swedish? Automatic translation, or are you learning the language? It's an interesting choice, since there are relatively few speakers.
>>840 Death note is pretty good but not really a fan of dbz. From the current ongoing anime shows I watch kaiji, neuro, shigofumi, spice and wolf, H2O, ayakashi and kimiaru. As for manga, I read one piece, hajime no ippo and school rumble.
>>838 Oh? I wasn't talking about YOU. So control yourself, ok?
And regardless of how you think of his fans, the fact remains that his thread should be really interesting for his fans. Why are you trying to stop it?
Thank you for your quick response. Sorry to hear that you are not a movie buff. The movie I mentioned in >>832 was my first movie in that Finnish was actually spoken. Vowel harmonies of Finnish are still in my head. A storyline was really good. Why don't you check it out when you are boared to death.
>>834 They can mean the same thing, because 'his or her' shows it can be either gender with possession. 'Their' can also mean that.
If a person is buying some hats, you could say: "They are buying some hats". If a group of people are buying hats, you could also say: "They are buying some hats".
It's also useful on messageboards (or if you can't tell if someone is male or female from just looking at them) because you can just use 'they' instead of saying'him' or 'her' and getting it wrong, or hiding the fact that you really don't know.
I'm rather curious about their computer clutures. >>836 What's up in MEGA DEMO scene recently ? Or it maybe old school now ? I love 8bit computers like ATARIs, AMIGAs, MSXs and stuffs.
>>846 Don't let yourself eat crows. And I don't understand, evil? What do you mean? If you try to stop him becoming popular among us, then you're trully evil.
>>848 yes. If you have seen Akagi and liked it, I really suggest you to watch Kaiji as well. It's my favourite show from this season.
As for Death Note, It could have been much better than what it was. I followed the anime up to episode 8 or something, then I couldn't wait and read the manga. It was very, very good for about 15 episodes and then it just kept getting worse. If it had kept the epicness from the start it would have been my favourite show ever.
Fist of all, Why does writer can't know their gender? Writer must know He or she.
Secondly in case of everyone must destroy their ipods, why ipods not ipod? We learned everyone follows with "s" Because every centers on each person. So Doesn't it boil down to every has one ipod?
>>851 I see what you mean. Episode 15... It's where MisaMisa is under arrest as Second Kira.. Death Note is really nice until L dies, don't you think? And for some reason, I love the episode where Naomi Misora and Light walk together.
You sure know more about manga than I do. Are they all dubbed in English? Or raw? no, i guess not.lol
>>849 my demo knowledge is limited to what i see in the Assembly Demo Party yearly. Being only 20 years old (Turned 20 today!) I was very young during the 8-bit age. I only remember playing atari at my friend's place
>>853 I dont quite understand what you mean by the first question. You probably misunderstood the part about genders, if the speaker/writer whatever knows the gender of the person, then sure they can pick "he" or "she" However, this is not always the case and then "he" or "she" is replaced by either "he or she" or "they"
"everyone must destroy their ipod" -> everyone is sharing just one ipod which they must destroy "everyone must destroy their ipods" -> there are many ipods, if one owns an ipod they must destroy it.
>>841 Either, really... they both can taste really nice. Do you eat them with any kind of fruit or sauce? And more importantly, do you use a spoon or a fork? Never really tried eating it with tea, but the sweetness should offset the tea's bitterness... might try that, thanks!
>>853 Hmm... it depends on the context in which it is read. You could correctly say "everyone must destroy their iPods", but you could also say "everyone must destroy their iPod", assuming that "their iPod" means the singular iPod that each person possesses.
>>860 If you see a hat rolling down a road, you might say "Someone lost their hat", because the gender isn't known.
>>856 The ray penbar / naomi misora episodes are truly the best episodes in death note.
I normally read my manga translated, but if there are furikana and the translators are taking long then I'll read the raw manga. As for anime, same thing. But I only watch subtitled with the original japanese audio. I can't stand English dubs at all.
Yes, the Atari XE / Atari XL line, if I remember correctly. I don't think they were ever popular around here, though. But everyone had a Commodore 64...
Which system was most popular with your friends at the time? (Assuming that there was one, and you were interested.)
>>863 he is right, but I believe the plural is a better choice as the singular form has the meaning that everyone shares only one ipod
>>865 Thanks. It is Wednesday after all, and I don't really feel like going out drinking. ( ´∀`) I am, however, going out with a friend in about 5min. So if there's any more questions, go ahead ask now while you have the chance ( ´∀`)
>>862 almost missed this. Yes, I've seen the live action movies. They were good for being live action, usually they're very horrible. I liked the manga and anime much better though
× I should have say COMMODOREs ? XD ○ I should have said COMMODOREs ? XD
>>863 I've thought that is real English way for long time... But it isn't...
>>857 And thank you for telling me that you young Finnsh keep the memory of Atari still. It's grad to hear for me.. Your computer cultures are very much affecting Japanese even now while they're loving Japanese Animation and Manga. :D Wow. How should I say..

>>874 thanks. same here, but I haven't felt like going out drinking lately. I only go to pubs once every 2-3 months at most, and I drank too much during December D:
Also, now while we're teaching English "It's grad to hear for me.. " <-- glad is the correct word, not grad. "I'm glad to hear that" is what you would normally say in English
>>878 both are correct. Sorry I'm out of time so I can't lecture about the difference between "it" and "that" maybe someone else can do this.
I'll be back in about 5 hours, under the same nickname.
"Someone lost his or her hat" sounds redundant. Actually. Maybe for this reason native speakers started to use their in place of he or she. I guess. But british seem to be strict to grammer and bother to use roundabout correct grammer in my image.
The most noticeable difference between British English and American English is the spelling. Eg: Prioritise (British) and Prioritize (American) There are some small differences in word usage, but you don't notice it a great deal.
>>891 I don't understand what a meme means, but thanks, I just did an image search. From what I understand, going to the moon leads to BRB. The poor cat... He's like tortured, his head stuck in the vinyle stuff. I'm sure he will suffocate. T_T
I was going to bed at around midnight, then acute sever pains hit me in the foot. I knew it won't work but put a painkiller in my anus. No. As I expected it never worked. All it did was give me uhoish feeling.
I battled with excruciating waves of pain for more than 2 hours! I sometimes cried out in the darkness, saying cuss words, limping in circle like a tiger pasing in a cage in the zoo to destract my attention form the pain. Sometimes I pressed and held my sole or massage it.
When it hurts, believe me, it REALLY hurts. No painkillers are effective to the pain of this type, which I haven't gone into detail of. anyway now the pain reduced to the extent I can post here. But I don't think I can sleep now.
In a big picture, my foot is getting better, but still sometimes I was hit by this pain. I am still going to hospital to get IV drip treatment.

How about my translation. I wanna spread love. ---------------------------- Hey, notice me. Don't leave me alond. I feel lonely. LOL I changed tense. difficult. japanese lyrics is using both present tense and past tense.
Richard Dawkins! I read his book "The God delusion". It was quite good. It turned out I'm totally unawarely atheist, so it was fun to know all the stuff about religion people's claims about god.
When I was hit by the severe pain in my foot, I sometims felt like I was going to faint. I'd rather faint! If I do, I wouldn't feel the pain.
I say something that's not even a word nor the cuss word in the middle of the pain, too. Like a groan of an animal. I bet even Igirisujin know for his gentleman like attitude would turn into animal and groan like me.
>>904 Maybe if you put your whole foot in a tub of ice, it'll make it completely numb. Either that, or just hurt from being too cold. How are the nurses? Is the young one still antisocial? Oh, and nice use of metaphor. Hope it really does feel better soon.
>>909 I probably use the word "sunnies" but not any of those other words. Anyway, all countries have their own slang words, I'm sure I wouldn't understand a lot of American slang.
>>920 How about if a Japanese M.C. suggest killing Ausie because thier nation is idiotic? Let's go and ask the ambasader if it's ok to kill them all. ^_^
>>919 >Maybe if you put your whole foot in a tub of ice, Just reading this makes me faint. I have to keep my foot worm. Cold is the archenemy of the kind of my pain.
Nurses are relatively nice. I think the young nurse is just shy and is not good at talking so she looks brusque on surface.
>For example Spanish and Portuguese people aren't fluent in English.
This is not true. I think that some Scandinavian countries speak very good English.
Spanish speak good English. I am Greek myself, we all speak very good english mostly (at least in Athens and Thessaloniki, in the villages not so much... but still a decent level).
They think human shouldn't kill intelligent animals like whales. That's all. No big deal. It's not like they are meddling with other people's culture. People respect each other. That's the end of the story.
I remember there was another Aussie here who thought anti-whaling was stupid. I don't think it's fair to blame every single Aussie who visits here for this thing.
The past minister's statement is that the atomic bomings in HIroshima and Nagasaki are something that couldn't be helped. When I knew the fiasco of the minister, I couldn't avoid but explode with laghter.
>>911 Is it really broadcast by the national broadcasting system? Gee, I'd be ashamed of my Garvernment if it gave a green light to broadcast a shitty program like this.
>オーストラリア人 I don't think you agree the way it is like in the video clip. But do you think most of you find this funny?
>>951 I don't think many people find it funny. But it's become quite popular because it is so controversial. I guess I find peoples reactions to it funny, sometimes I feel I shouldn't laugh, but I end up laughing anyway. The whaling segment wasn't really that funny though.
Yeah, it's not about anti-whaling, but more about making fun of Japanese people. Basically, white people find asian people as something of a lesser existence, so it's a lot of fun to treat them badly and harass them. That's the point of that video, I think.
As far as I know, he is one of the youtubers. Not many Japanese don't mind showing their faces on the Internet, but he is showing his face. That's a nice attitude. But there are some reasons why he is hated among some people.
While he criticizes 2ch saying it's just anonymouse boad less than nothing, he frequently visits and posts 2ch. He even has his handle name. He made 7channel to rival 2channel but nobody but him use it.
He likes foreign women, especially young women and girls, and tries to impress them on you tube. That attitude is desliked by some reserved 2channelers. He looks too aggressive and self assurtive to them. In magibon's thread, too he tries to make a big impression of him on Magibon so, hated by other anonymous 2channelers.
I don't know if he is a nice man or not. His handle name's trip code seems to be broken and some people post rude messages pretending like him.
>>987 Well you can say either, but I would use past tense. By the way, that ad was never aired on Australian TV. I guess the broadcasters thought it was unsuitable.
Whale seems very tasty, Japanese must understand that in Anglo-Saxon countries cuisine is very much an aesthetic thing too. A lot of people say 'I don't want to eat this because it doesn't look nice' (e.g. fish dishes especially). This is the impression I get with Whales, I have always wanted to try whale meat myself though, I can only imagine how succulent and juicy it is. Duck is a good meat too.
Perhaps Australia is more tolerant of violence than Japan. That kind of dipiction on tv ads is surely criticised in Japan, but not in Australia. They're more open-minded, I guess.
Yeah it's the most easy thing to do to get votes. Bashing some outside entity to get popular is nothing new. Hitler bashed the Jews. Bush bashes the Asians.
