I haven't been on 2ch before, I'm a girl from Holland, and a friend of mine told me about 2ch, so I wanted it to check it out.

Why I checked it out? Because I like the Japanese language and try to learn it. ^^

My university splits up each year into "simesters".
Basically, we have a fall simester where we take some classses, then
the winter simester, where we take new classes. (some poeple take classes
in the summer simester too, but i work a part-time job instead).

A class only lasts one simester, but may have different levels. My music theory class (im a music major) has four portions to it,
for a total of 4 simesters (or two years) worth of class.

It's ok, let me try to explain it another way.
Basically, in the fall is the first simester (or half year) of class.

I took Music Theory 1.

Then, in the second somester ( winter to spring, or second half year),
I took Music Theory 2.

Since classes do not last long enough to warrant having them go year round,
we split up the year into two basic parts.

i know there was war between two countries.
i try to read the article.

but i feel british people make little of,make fun of
dutch people rather than
hate them. some british people may not like germans due to
historical problem, too.but i feel they fear germany power--in that
sense--they respect germans.

i don't hear dutch people have twisted feelings toward british.
is it because we japanese reccieve information unilaterally
from Uk,not from netherland?
dutch people also mock british people?

The problem is that there are a lot of kids, stupid people and weeaboos
But if you are japanese probably, if you draw manga, everyone of them will love you and will encourage you a lot

YOU MUSTNT ONLY DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD TO
Do whatever makes you happy and your life good (So doing something that you like and dont get moeny you wont be happy for sure!)

hahaha... I agree, there are too many weeaboos at deviantart. I've seen some
good art from western artists on deviantart that is obviously influenced
by Japanese art and culture, but they don't need to copy it exactly
or mention it all the time, or throw in random japanese words. Most weeaboos can't
even draw! But they think they can. Can't they inherit some of the Japanese artists' humility?

I've actually got a site, but I don't have anything on it, because I can't start.
I also hate the idea of posting proposed ideas for stories and stuff, because there
are too many people on the internet who have "coming soon" on their websites.

Yeah, they are from very different cultures
About the humility, they probably dont even know anything about the artists they admire, since they cant read anything, they only know taht "this author made this and i liked it"
I try to be modest when i post my drawings, because i think that thinking you are best will make you the worst.

Why don't you post fanart? or, only drawings! people like to do that and in ddeviant art if you are good enough you can win money XD
Hmm, maybe you only want to do something BIG like a great story with lots of characters or something like that...
(´v`) Yes, that is harder, but if you really like it and can get a job out of it why dont do it?

I don't know if I'll upload it. I don't usually draw or write stories
for other people to read or watch. I just do it for something to do.

I dont usually cry, but eureka 7 really had some moments that mad me cry, and yell at the monitor encouraging them lol, it was very emotiv, it touched my heart and thats what i want to do when i draw something
(´A`)Aaah, if at least i could live by drawing like you guys in japan... that would make me so happy...

If you finally draw something and are proud of it, you must know that there is somebody in the world that want to see what you have done

I don't mean to be rude, but doesn't that sound like weeaboo talk?
I like drawing, but it's a hobby. I don't expect to make a living out
of it. In fact, I'll avoid it if I can. Maybe do a few amateur things,
but I don't want to spend my life wanting to get into a market I know
nothing about. Besides, most western artists wouldn't be able to cope
with the work ethics and workload in any profession in Japan.

Besides, Japanese media is just like any other country's media. Some good,
some bad. I'm not an anime or manga fan, because I don't just buy manga, comics,
anime, cartoons, books, magazines or anything for that matter because of where they
come from of the style they are in. I only buy things that interest me.

Japan is the only country in the world where "Fight!" probably suggests
that you work harder. Whenever someone talks about fighting in my country
in reference to work or school, it usually means resisting work.

But one thing I do like about the Japanese comic market is the adult content. They aren't
afraid, but the fans aren't shameless. If I could be anything, I'd be an artist of comics
and animation with adult content. People think it's crude, but I reckon it'd be fun. At least
you'd get a few laughs out of it.

I didnt tell you to make a living of it, i told you i would like to make a living of it, why? because it would be fucking more interesant than anything i have seen now
I think western people - eastern people can do the same, just because we dont push ourselves as much as japanese doesnt mean we cant, i think its because we dont want

Im sorry you undestood that
I dont like ONLY manga and anime because of the style.
I have seen and read american comics, spanish comics, and they are the same to me, shit, its my personal opinion, i dont like the stupid stories of spiderman, or lobo, or hellboy.
I like the stories japanese artist create, were it E7, evangelion, paranoia agent...
in this case we are the same, i only buy things that interest me, in this case, only manga and anime.

Its the same here, to every student you will hear "Ey you must study more!" "i know you are tired but you must pass the exams"
My japanese guide told me "Japan isnt a good place to live" now i understand her better
Living a boring life in which you are always suffering is pretty sad
And your kids commit suicide because of your society, I really hope you guys can change it someday

adult content? you mean doujinshis or something like that? Why the hell do you guys censor the sexual organs? XD You have to change that first! XD
I mean, you can see a 11yo fucking in a lolicon doujinshi, but you cant see penises or vaginas XDXD

Hmm... if you do something with adult content upload it please lololol

I don't think Japan would be boring or that you'd suffer. It'd certainly be
an adjustment, like any new culture. I wouldn't move to Japan unless I was given
a high paying job. I suppose many people would only move overseas for that reason
too...

Yeah. Why do they censor their porn?
Come on Japan. Stop being uncool. Drawing lolis and censoring them
is cruel to lolicon. At least just invert the colours.

No. I prefer to be given panties as souvenirs. A girl heard about my fetish once,
and gave me an invitation to her place by giving me a small box. Inside was a pair of
unused red lace panties with a butterfly pattern on it, and a small paper note saying
a time, and a place, followed by "if you want me to put these on..."
I miss her. She became my girlfriend, and we dated for more than half a year, but

nice panties. She has a really nice bottom.

Well we're Movin' on Up!
Movin' on Up!
To the east side!
Movin' on Up!
To a dee-luxe apartment in the sky, We're movin' on up!
Movin' on Up!
To the east side!
Movin' on Up!
We've finally got a piece of the pie!

Fish don't fry in the kitchen,
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin'
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in the big leagues,
Gettin' our turn at bat!
As long as we live,
It's you and me, baby!
There ain't nothin' wrong with that!

Brad Pitt is a good actor, I guess. I find Johnny Depp to be a
better sign of that a movie might be especially interesting,
as he often takes quirky/odd roles.
If you meant Brad Pitt's looks: Well, not bad, I guess. He's handsome,
I guess. But I don't know how attractive I think he is, as I've

Y's face and pretending to be Y - who would die if X got his name written

He has asked someone's help and advice, like me...
Because he is really worried about his job these days.
Such as he's thinking of going to quit his job and so on.
To tell the truth, I broke up with him about 5 months ago.
He's 5 years yonger than me. He graduated from university
in Nagoya, and decided to start new job in Osaka last spring.
After few months later, he got transferd to Nara.
He was really busy from then on. (He is still busy now)
He couldn't take a day off,and had to work overtime.
So it was so hard to keep relations between him and me

If an owner of a death note see X's face after having Y's face

You can see it on Youtube. In a word, L used Ryuga Hideki as an
alias, and Ryuga Hideki is a famous TV personality. And Light
said in his head that if L right in front uses an alias,
it means the real Ryuga Hideki would die in stead of L.
The point is, whoever a name whose is written will die
if an owner of a death note can match his face and name.

Yes. I don't know any kanji yet, and I haven't found a suitable weekend
to learn the kana at yet (I'm a bit picky about being able to write
them decently). I can understand a few spoken/romanji words, but that's
it language-wise.

Learning German decently is higher up on my list than learning Japanese,
as it would be good to be able to take summer jobs in Germany (the
more time I can spend with my boyfriend, the better). I don't have a
choice when it comes to learning Japanese, either. Not that I mind.
Languages are interesting, and I find Japanese history and aesthetics
very interesting. Though my boyfriend is likely to want to move to
Japan for a few years at some point in time, which is why I have to
learn Japanese decently within half a decade or so.

Hello fellow native English speakers. I know you're here somewhere. I have a question for you.

When trying to help someone learn English, have you ever kicked yourself over these two issues:
1. You notice that you're grammar or spelling kind of sucks.
2. You become overly nitpicky over your spelling or grammar, and in the process, sound stiff and overly formal.

Right now, I'm trying to type like I would speak. Even now, it's still "off".

To those who don't speak English natively, this is my polite warning that my English, although fluent, isn't necessarily correct.

Yes, definitely so - and not just when trying to teach English.
When I speak informally, the words flow more easily; when I have to write
"correctly" or "formally", my words take on a far different tone - and
usually not for the better.
(incidentally: "you're grammar" => "your grammar". ^_^)
