then how come you speak Japanese ?
if you didn't have ability to memorize things at all when you were a child.
you can't speak Japanese now.
your way of thinking is so petty.

Yes, your way of thinking is awesome. You are facing you weakness,
dealing your weakness face to face which is great! Not many people
would like to do that.

So keep up your work!
I am not good at memorizing either! I guess you are more talented in
an artistic field, don't you? then why don't you learn English
through drama, movies, or some story books, instead of just
memorizing new vocab by seeing one word after another.

Good luck!^^

He can tell everything that's gonna happen next in a game beforehand.

I went to my best friend's home page. geez..I didn't know she had
such a place all these years...so I had a lot to read...overall,
I could feel her vibration or emotion in everyday's life. Her emotion
really changed day by day. But that was touching...but some part
I didn't understand. she used some secret words such as po...I don't
like a girl uses such a dirty word. I never know what she meant

Hey! my bf is weird or evil...He is a computer geek..

He said something like this recently...(we broke up recently).

--My main computer is having a problem again. Because microsoft
got me for using a hacked windows...it automatically updated and...
it killed the system...Game over...

Means...

my main computer = me
microsfot = coincidentally, by chance
hacked windows = other girl
automatically updated = go nuts

so it means...

My girl friend hs having a problem again. Because I met a girl by
chance, so she (my girl friend) is gone nuts and finally she became
crazy. So our love is over.

By instinct. Always by animal instinct. There is no brain in myself.
So instinct is the only reliable organ(?) for me. thanks...
Hmmm... Well, you have pretty good instincts then, if you're
right that is. Anyway, instinct isn't an organ. I'm not sure what
it is, actually... I suppose it's not something physical. It's something
that can be found in your brain.
>>82
I'm not sure that was the right answer or not. It's useless to ask him
by now. Instinct is not an organ, but to compare with ...for example
my eyes, my ears, my nose, this 6th sense works better than anything else
as a handicap person. anywayyyyy....sorry to bother you for saying such a
crap..... If I've taken your time, please go back to whatever
you are doing, sir. Thanks....
wowan's instict is not so reliable.
my girl friend sometimes blames me for groundless reasons.
>>83
>sorry to bother you for saying
The "for saying" should be "by saying". "for" indicates a reason
for doing something, e.g. "I'm going to get you for that!". "by"
indicates a means or way, e.g. "I'm going to reach the other side
of the lake by swimming across." Understand?

>such a crap
It should be just "such crap". No article is needed.

Anyway, you haven't wasted my time. BTW, what do you mean by
"as a handicap (should be handicapped) person"?
>>84
Yeah, maybe.

>>85
opps so many errors!! but thanks for the corrections!
well...handicap means nothing. Just I feel that way. I am very
awkward as handicap level. For example, I can't walk as a normal
person (I'm always thinking about something else and fall down easily etc..)
But I feel bad by using this word...sorry. ummm....anyway...
I screw up often. That's all. Thanks for taking your time. No more
consultings..lol it annoys other ppl here ^^;;

against Voldemort, and be killed, but he'll do something important
against him.

I think that he had no other choice... He probably told Dumbledore
about it and Dumbledore decided he would have to die... Hagrid
overheard Snape and Dumbledore talking and Snape was saying he
just couldn't do it anymore... That was probably to make it look
like Snape didn't want to be a spy anymore, but it may turn out
in the next book that it was really Snape saying he didn't want
to kill Dumbledore... The reason I think this that JKR always
likes to put tricks into the book....

Actually, that's one reason that a lot of people think Dumbledore
wanted to die. He always said before that he wasn't afraid of death
and that there were things worse than death. If he was telling the
truth, then why would he be pleading for his life like that? It
makes Dumbledore look like a foolish character, unless he was
just acting when he did it...

You are missing the biggest point here.
Dumbldore wanted to call on Snape when he got back to the cave,
weak and tired from the potion thing. He counted on Snape for
his spells. Remember?

Dumbledore didn't know Snape was acting for Voldemort the very
moment Malfoy said he was a double agent.

Oh, really? It's been a long time since I've read it. I only read it
once, the day after it came out. Maybe he still didn't expect that
Snape was going to fulfill his oath at that point? Anyway, I think
Snape is good because the purpose of the character throughout the
books was to show that even though someone might be mean, they're
not necessarily evil... I think it would be stupid to thow that
out the window, but it's possible that he is evil, I admit.

Very true. When Harry said he would go to Madam Pomfrey's and
take her back to Dumbledore, the headmaster refused the offer.

And if you stick to the idea that Snape was good,
I'll let you know what the author said about him.
She said her readers thought Snape was trully a good person,

>>216
Well, I'm not going to aruge about the events in book 6 anymore
because I think you're right that there didn't seem to be much
communication going on between Snape and Dumbledore. Anyway, the
reason that I think he is still good (in addition to what I said
in >>209) is that in all the previous books, it makes it look
like Snape is doing something evil and then at the end it always
turned out that Snape wasn't quite as evil as they thought. The
same thing might happen again, but over the span of two books.

And did JKR really say that? I found this interview just now, and
she doesn't say outright that Snape is evil, but she heavily implies
it.

http://www.mugglenet.com/jkrinterview.shtml

So, basically, I think he still good (really I'm hoping that he
is still good) because I think it would be pretty stupid if it
turned out he was evil (considering the previous books), but I
guess that might happen.

y = x^x

dy/dx = (x^x) { log(x) + 1}

z = x^(x^x)

(1/z) (dz/dx) = (x^x) { log(x) + 1} log(x) +(x^(x-1))

O_O

What language is that?
264lonely woman:2006/07/14(金) 03:18:52
I let google translate that.
It is said that every two weeks a language in the world dies.
Large languages like for example English continue to increase and small languages ever weaker.
One speaks perhaps only a language sometime.
Would it be better, if it gave only one language, or would find you that boring?

The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English
is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion,
English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and
rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.
--James D. Nicoll

Interesting quote.
Did english have purity in the first place? I don't think so. I don't think it's dirty either. It's just a language. A very specific and difficult language.

How does english steal vocabulary form other languages? This confuses me a bit

English takes words from all languages.
'pajamas' is from Hindi
'ketchup' is from Indonesia (or maybe China, nobody's sure)
'igloo' is from Inuit
'kiosk' is from Finnish
'genre' is from French
'algebra' is from Arabic
'et cetera' is from Latin

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_English_words_of_international_origin
for a gigantic list.

Yeah, depends on the person. Just guessing from how he experienced the
heartbreak, I thought it would take longer to stand on his feet. but
I guess he is on the right path...we should look forward. oh
How to express l"ook forward" in better English?
when you lose somebody close, or somebody who always stay beside you,
you feel like you lost your half side of your body(?)...but
you'll get used to it in a week or so. Human are stronger than
what we imagine..."lose" maens not just a break up but
sometimes your sis goes away or your mother pass away...etc..
>>379
Haha!

Hm, "look forward"...
I guess "look forward" is actually the best expression to use.haha

You could maybe use Overcome,Aspire to, be determined,strive...uh, those are all too serious for everyday conversation though I think. xD
>>380
Hm, yes, I agree. When someone close to you goes away, either for a little while, or forever, sometimes you can feel empty...
But, yeah, Humans are definatly strong. Sometimes humans don't realize how strong they are.

Yeah definitely. We better look forward than looking back.
So Kayla? do you have any plans for the future? The reason
why I'm asking you is because I am thinking about how to
get back to normal. The situation now is not normal for me
...but I don't want to do some artificial things so
like a flow of water, I just want to reunite with my friends.
I am out from the circle now but at the same time, I feel like
oh....anything is ok...if I am kicked out, I can stay alone...
blabla...sorry you don't understand what I am taling about, do you?

Hm, I know what you mean. Do you live close to these friends or are they friends on the internet that you haven't talk to in a while?

Sorry...the story is like this.
I had some good friends but something happened and I am out from
the circle. But I can't go back to them because one reason is
I am so frightened on their attitude towards me too. But there is one
girl I want to talk very much. Do you think I can talk to her privately?
The girl is always in the circle so it's kinda hard to get in touch
with her. well...I'm not a school girl but there is a circle.
We gather often esp on the weekends...

That's a difficult situation! <:(

I think that maybe you should talk to the girl privatly, at first. If she is the only person you want to talk to, then you should not trouble yourself with the others.

But if you also miss your other friends a lot, then I think you should approach all of them

I just read the book about a life of jail, do you think life
in a jail is fun?
This story is about a woman who had to stay in a jail
for a crime she did not commit. Do you know this system
"except someone from the amnesty". if the person's attitude
in a jail is excellent she can go out.

oh I remember the movie. Well...I think he actually commited a crime..
He killed his wife, I think. But she was cheated him. If I were a
prime minister I would set her free immediately....don't you think so?
she was such a gentle woman but why on earth she has to stay in jail...
No, someone else did the crime, but they thought it was him because he witnessed it, I think
Sometimes even if someone acts gentle, they can be a bad person in secret. But in the book you're describing, i think she is an exception, since she isn't guilty. :D
>>414
I believe so. I haven't met her in person but from how the book described,
she was a very kind person. A little bit emotional at a time but
that happaned to anybody...but umm...even her period of sentence would be shorter,
how ppl look at her wouldn't change...once she has a criminal record,
that means she's no longer have an equal life with other citizens. poor girl....

It's kind of important piece of Netiquette here on this BBS.

No human being is here.
uhm, age is used to bump a post right?
and sage tells people not to post?

There is sort of a bastardized version on 4chan. gyad, that place is madness.
478Kenji Tamura:2006/07/15(土) 03:58:23
Note that "sage" is for suckers.

I can't believe you took my dogs, Kayla.

How so?

And, hm, yes, I suppose an exchange will have to take place!
You are right about age but not quite about sage.
sage doen't bump the thread so it stays the same position on the forum.
Since some peple hates threas that are standing out, and bumped threads are often
good target for trolling attacks.
And here comes the madman.
how does sage keep a thread down? If you post, doesn't that automatically make it bumped? Wat's the trick? o.o
to sage a thread, all you have to do is put "sage" in the e-mail field.
Oh, that's surprisingly easy. But people can still post in the thread after a sage, right? so what's the point?
485Kenji Tamura:2006/07/15(土) 04:09:58
Deal. I don't need custody.

"sage" is for wimps. But you are allowed to be, if you want to be.
This thread used to be a total mess thaanks to some crazy trolls.
I think k-tan remembers those days.
Now it's much quiet. You can age this thread if you like.
It's up to how you feel. But at least remember that some posters hate
if you bump up threads.
>>484
By sageing threads, you can show that you are trying not to bump it up.
It's kind of a mark for modesty as well.
Hahaha, Then if I want to bump a post, Instead of putting "age" I'll just post a random fact or something.
I know that in other forums people also don't like it when you bump.

I've seen plenty of people with gender neutral names, or names that one would
think the opposite gender would have. Doesn't really matter much, a name is a mere
label - the most important thing is that you like the label you chose, and
do not find it annoying in the long run, if you've chosen words as a name, as opposed
to a mere regular name (e.g. ihatekittens, little_princess_forever, pepperedparrotsteak
- rather than miho, maximillian, Seiji or tina)

>>547
Have you seen the movie Constantine? A female played the angel Gabriel :-D
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0842770/
I was surprised to see the woman who resembled the actress that played the elven
queen Galadriel in Lords Of The Ring somewhat play such a character. Somehow, it
worked very well, apart from a scene or two. But that was more of related
to that specific actress.

Seems to me that the overwhelming majority of the world has problems with their
sexuality. People who keep being worried and afraid, or just plain confused and
frustrated at that.
Though I guess the amount of people with problems depends on what one defines as a problem.

of the national identification number every person has.

...I, don't know. My immediate reaction would be to say "Nahh, that's
the Norwegians that have that". But that's also related to the dialect,
I think. There are a few Swedish dialects that are more sing-song style,
but the dialect I'm most used to does not have that (as far as I've noticed)
nor does the standard Swedish.
Personally, I do not really have a Swedish accent in English (as far
as I have noticed) but I can fake a really thick, stereotype one.
Not really singsong, more of applying tons of Swedish pronouciation
on English words. "Lajk diss, juu nåe" - like this, you know.
Hmm. I should record myself faking that accent and listen to it. I
do not do it that consciously, maybe I do it more singsong than
standard English. Though it's also a parody of really heavy Swedish accents -___-
Heavy Swedish accents in English sounds so very bad *shudders* -____-;;;

Though you should be careful about why the otaku-seekers want an otaku for
boyfriend. Some want one because they think they could easily push them
around, and make the otaku worship them - others because they merely want someone
who is passionate about an interest and probably willing to commit properly
rather than just fool around with any chick (no feeling threatened by
mere images and animation).
Seems as if the Densha Otoko craze spread certain interesting stereotypes
of the otaku.

an honest person. The way he headbutt him (without using his hands)
was also hilarious. So not using his hands, as a soccer player,
it is true to his principles too. <------this part is important

Ah, yeah. 2ch autolinks urls that start in http://
via some ad-service. so you have to click twice to
get to where you want: once on the actual link page, and another time on the ad page.
After that you get to the page you want.
If you want to skip the ad site, just copy and paste the url into your url-bar :)
I tend to let it be full urls, as with my multi-webbrowsertab surfing habits, it's less
effort for me to click the url up in a new tab and then when I click to that page, click on
the url. (Middle-mousebutton click + left-mousebutton click, as opposed to marking + [CTRL]+[C] +
[CTRL]+[T] + [CTRL]+[V] + [ENTER] - and I'm on the webbrowser Firefox on windows, to explain why
I'd need those keys)
After all the years online I've gotten pretty good at ignoring ads - which is why the
ad page doesn't bother me. I apologize for forgetting that everyone may not be aware of
what happens with full urls here on 2ch and neglecting to mention that one might want to
copy-paste the urls instead of clicking on them... orz

874k-tan ◆teb9WQfPoU :2006/07/17(月) 01:38:20

Boring, but truthful. If we take the reversed case, a guy getting female
genetalia for a day, depending on the guy he might possible think it's awesome
and take advantage of the difference for the day, or he may freak out and
try to ignore the lack of penis in his pants until the day is over, etc.

If you want a more fun answer, ask individual people, rather than just
wonder about a general case. The answers for the general case are too many
and too different to be consistent in any way.

what women would do if they had a penis for a day
10. Get ahead faster in corporate America.

9. Get a blow job.

8. Find out what is so fascinating about beating the meat.

7. Pee standing up while talking to other men at a urinal.

6. Determine WHY you can't hit the bowl consistently.

5. Find out what it's like to be on the other end of a surging orgasm.

4. Touch yourself in public without thought as to how improper it may seem.

3. Jump up and down naked with an erection to see if it feels as funny as it looks.

2. Understand the scientific reason for the light refraction which occurs between a man's eyes and the ruler situated next to his member which causes two inches to be added to the final measurement.

1. Repeat number 9......
