>>2 叫中文的居民是最多在世界、21世紀是大中華的世紀、日本人須学習中文!! The Chinese language is spoken by the largest number of people in the wrold, the 21st century is going to be the China's century, so you Japanese should learn the Chinese language!!
I think it will actually be the century of India. China's population will become unbalanced in gender, with many more males than females because of the Chinese killing their female babies because of the one child poilcy. India will keep growing though, and become superior to China.
Don't complain any more. You should accept it. He didn't creat the horrific AA on purpose. He got through enough of hard time. If you are hard on him any longer, he will lose grip on himself and so go crazy.
>>101 u really are kina bugger. Plus rn't ya hated from anybody around ya? Dameing poor u, yep. r u alright though u r escapin' from a den? I care 'bout u.
I'm American. You seem to be poorly impersonating someone from the Southern US, but your mistakes show me that English isn't your native language, so I wondered where you're from.
LOL, no. I'm posting this from the US. So you're Japanese? If so, please don't use the Southern US accent. It's laughable, especially when someone who's not even Southern uses it.
>>118 Well, sorry if I offended you. Where exactly did you get the idea that attempting to sound like a hick from the Southern US was a good idea? FYI, the word "y'all" is only used in AAVE and Southern dialects, so you might not want to use it if you don't want to appear to be a speaker of one of those dialects.
>>119 I live in a city called Santa Clarita in California.
>>121 I think you're the immature one, and I'm not a white supremacist or racist at all. I believe you're the one who came into this thread throwing around insults.
>>122 Well, I'm not psychic, so I can't say. I don't know anyone who's going to protest, so I really don't know. Anyway, the protesters are going to stay home from work/school to show what it would be like without illegal immigrants, supposedly.
>>123 California weather isn't too hot around this time of year, so no.
>>124 I feel like I've saw u on TV why u sang USA national anthem in Spanish. I wish u were in arrested to it. But for ur good, u should displaced from cali, usa.
You're more of a moron than I thought. Anyway, this is also correct.
"Well, is it true there's a beetle living in President Bush's head?"
I just thought "is it true that" sounded better. Anyway, what you posted still wasn't correct. The problem had nothing to do with you not using the word "that". Try again.
"the game" is his nickname. "i am the game" is his set phrase. i am surprised one who don't know HHH exists in usa. is wwe absurd for the most of the american people?
Well, judging by the time of day, it seems that only us Americans are posting in this thread now. Please don't look at us the wrong way, our Nihon brothers. Not all of us are as bad as the people who are posting now. I'm betting that the people who are posting right now are just White, like me, and are from a spoilled W.A.S.P. family.
>>182 then how's this... >He also came in second in MTV's list of the 22 greatest singers of the past 25 years, having been beaten by MARIAH CAREY for the top spot. >(from the same source)
What I always wonder is native English speakers who c'min to this site are always trying to correct our wrong sentences tho we do not know how they could speak, write or so forth in Japanese, they could do such a haughtily thing is nothing but only in English and at least we are chatting in English. Why are they having an air of importance like that only in English tho they could nothing in Japanese? Don't you guys think they are scary cats?
I hope this thread will be full of idol fans and have fun talking about their favorites. There have been a number of pretty idols in Japan, such as Yukorin, Maki, Saki, and many others. And I guess lots and lots of idols are there coming up in other contries as well. So we should talk about idols who will achieve worldwide fame.
What really happened in Nanjing after Japan's occupation in December 1937? "Massacre of 300 thousand Chinese" as the Chinese Government claims?
You can watch some scenes in the following web page; lives of Chinese people, including children having food, as well as Japanese soldiers restoring the city.
Can these scenes possible if the "massacre of 300 thousand" actually took place?
For your information, Yu-na is a south korean figure skater. Not until she won a gold medal did I learn about her. As we thought Mao Asada would in doubt make it in the competition, her winning surprised us a bit. The Japanese media suddenly reported about her soon after the competition ended. And I got interested in her. She skates very gracefully as well as looks amazingly cute, that's why.
>>235 Thanks for the info. I can't put my feelings about her into words. She wears, well, very fragile and faint smile on her but at the same time her performance is very powerful and energetic (I found a Video crip online, if you want, I'll provide you the address.). She's very appealing.
What about Saki Fukuda? I don't especially like her, but I'm sure there's at least one maniac here in the English board. We should call her an angel, too?

Guess what. The day before yesterday, it suddenly got burning hot around Kantou plain. People got sweating walking around. I couldn't believe why, but somewhere in Tokyo it reached 30 degree celsious, while it was only 24 in Okinawa. I heard that it was a record. But yersterday the temparature in Tokyo went considerablly down. In addition, an earthquake hit it.
i welcome people who bother to correct english. i am practicing english here. so if there is someone who bothers to correct my english, that will be very helpful. but not a disdainful manner, please.
We are here to practice English? What made you think so? This thread is for those who want to have fun chatting. If you want someone to teach some English, then you should go soon.
Do you know about Mr Shit? He often appeared here talking cheerfully and merrily. I've never met anyone really kind to other people. I wish he would come back.
>>356 I'm not sure. Everything comes and goes. Not a thing stays the same. To put it another way, he, sure, may have come here to talk with you, but you shouldn't feel sad even if he never pays a visit here. In fact, some people might feel sad when it turned out that K-tan seemed to decide on leaving the thread, but they never mentioned her name. So get over him. Forget him. That's best.
>>369 Of course. The United States government works with them in the secret underground cities in Nevada. I wonder if any other countries work with aliens...
>>380 What are you basing your belief on? We you have read in books or seen on TV? Do you think that is wise? Should an open minded person consider how incomprehensibly vast the universe is, and the fact we humans can only sense less than 1% of what is actually in the same room as us, they would probably conclude that the are countless living things outside the earth, and probably many more as yet undiscovered creatures both on it and inside it.
>>382 The God created the universe and designed the world we're on. He put us human beings here on the earth and many other creatures, while he didn't on any other planet. Aliens are things human beings generated from their false belief that there must be life somewhere in the outerspace. I'm under the impression, however, that considering there may be aliens is a horrible idea against the God himself.
but there are some fatal errors here.it's not good to leave them uncorrected for yourself. they are not colloquial errors. more basic errors. this thread is for chat in "english",not for chatting itself.
it is natural we should feel incliend to improve our english skill when it comes to chat in 'english'. we can have fun doing some another thing.but having fun in chatting in english requires a little study and effort.
we can have fun chatting in english as well as practicing english.

Btw, dont you guys know Britney Spears' songs“Do Somethin'”and“I'm Slave 4 U”, Avril Lavigne's song“Sk8er Boy”' Jesse McCartney's song“Without U”and Gwen Stefani's song“What you waiting for?”? Why suddenly I said such a thing is wanted to say that's wrong, around >>360, somebody wrote“who've used these slangs are probably African-American”!! It can't be, can it? I think they're just fools biassed toward English and just rasists as well.
Plus looks there's somebody who believe in Jesus Christ deeply ,who are anti-Darwinisms, but it's more imteresting for me. HAHAHA Take It Easy, Sir/ma'am!!
PS our chatting lots of fun Interrupters with dirty Japanese conversation are not interesting any more. They're just annoying, aren't they guys?
Oh in addition, >>360, he's NOT RG(real gay), is HG(hard gay), as it, I think >>360 is a real native English speaker because of its wrong. Cuz Japanese(who living in Japan at least) probabry do not make such a mistake on it, do we?
Yo, sup, my nigga? I agree wit you dat all deez rasist muthafuckas needta get outta hea', but I ain' pleased dat u be dissin' mah lawd and saviah Jesus Christ, ya hea'?
According to the newspaper I have in hand, Murakami Fund has taken a new stand against Hanshin dentetsu. Murakami Yoshiaki is trying to take over the parent company of Hanshin Tigers, Japan's hottest baseball team. The fans of the team were once relieved to hear Murakami deny he managed Tigers. But it's anybody's guess what will happen next because he seemed to change his mind.
Some economic professionals suspect Murakami is just threatening board members of Hanshin Dentetsu, because all he may want to do is sell the stocks he bought at as high price as possible. And I think they are right. Murakami Fund doesn't have what it takes to manage companies and he has never tried to provoke Hanshin Tigers' fans so far. As a matter of fact, when he gained a large number of shares of Hanshin stock, He was very deferential to the fan in question. The problem here is, if both of the companies can't meet halfway, the ones who will suffer are the fans. That is the big problem to be solved. Worst, they will march on the street and go to extremes.
Now u be forcin' me 2 use mah spellchecka in Microsof' Werd. Wat's da deal wit u?
"Yo, sup, my nigger? I agree with you that all these racist motherfuckers need to get out of here, but I ain't pleased that you be dissing my lord and savior Jesus Christ, you hear?"
>>527 >So you can teach an English kid Japanese and vice versa. What do you mean?
>When you're younger, it's easier to learn languages Of course, it's likely that even Japanese children can learn English more easily. That's not the point here, is it? What I wanted to ask about is: People say once developed, English brain can enable you to manipulate English like native speakers. From what I saw in an ad, someone said, "I've been listening to English for several month, and the other day I woke up to find myself very fluent in English!". And word of mouth has come to say that there must be English brain. But I doubt that. Even if you can make progress day by day, little by little, you might not want to believe you can become a good English speaker in a flash.
So I asked you if you are a believer of English brain.
>>529 I'll tell you what. If English-speaking people with no comand of Japanese start to learn the language after coming of age, do you still think they will be a fluent Japanese speaker without trial and error?
I know what you mean, though I don't understand French.. I wish I was taught English when I was a kid... As you may know, we usually start English at the age of 12/13, I mean, after getting into Jr high under the current compulsory education at that time.
>>534 Thanks. You flatter me. But to tell you the truth, I don't speak English very well, my English is strictly limited and with strong Japanese accent. I often feel down when I can't put into words what I want to say. But the biggest problem is that I have hard time catching what English people say and talking back to them soon. It's completely different from online chatting.
>>535 Ah, I see. Perhaps you just need total immersion -- get a job here or in the States. In Canada we're quite tolerant of non-native speakers and accents. A third of the population of the city I'm living in is Asian.
>>536 >A third of the population of the city I'm living in is Asian. Oh, really? I didn't know that.
I have a mental picture that Canada has a magnificent big lake and people there are cheerful. (never been there so far, though). Maybe the image I have comes form a TV program I saw ages ago..
Not to change the subject, but in retrospect, I didn't see non-Asian people walking down the street and taking a train several years ago. But now things has become different. Even where I live(suburban areas), I sometimes see some. When I go downtown, a number of people from English speaking communities are there walking.
Just out of curiosity, but how is the weather like in Canada? I mean, I know there are catastrophic hurricanes hitting America, but weather in Canada doesn't make worldwide news, does it? Since it's on the waterfront, I wonder if flooding happens there.
Speaking of earthquakes, it's said that a huge earthquake is supposed to hit Tokyo.. If I remember right, the committee of seismic research or whatever the name is, officially stated that there's a big prospect of it perhaps in 30 years. And just two days ago, a somewhat big one happened where I am.
>>551 Even to me, too hot. But instead, we can enjoy summer season. Fireworks displays are taken place in late July and August. Some girls wear Yukata, or traditional Japanese clothes like, say, the lighter version of Kimono to go watch them. What's more, there aren't more to life than drinking beer in summer.
To put that away, I guess the temperature in Canada is almost like that of Hokkaido(situated in the north of Japan)
Yeah it's all about the beer =) We have a fireworks competition in late July / early August, it goes on for several days. It's called the Celebration of Light. Thousands crowd the beaches and fireworks displays are set off from the bay. Every day is a different country's performance. Most people don't dress up, but you can spot girls in Yukatas here and there.
>>557 Yeah, you're right. If I fly to Canada, I'll make it in summer.
By the way, if you don't like to teach Japanese people the English language, I think there are a lot of teaching jobs. And if you are worried about health insurance or the pention system in Japan, feel free to ask me. I'm an expert, so to say.
>>558 Thanks. Yeah I'm not cut out for teaching unfortunately. I'm a software engineer. Specifically, I make games. There seem to be a few game studios in Japan that are willing to hire foreigners. With full immersion I think it will be easier to become certified to a level where I can work at most game studios in Japan.
>>559 Although we also have fireworks, I'm sure the atmosphere is different in Japan. The fireworks displays here are more like an entertainment show than anything cultural or spiritual.
>>560 Oh, are you? I sometimes enjoy overseas games, I mean, amature programmers give us their original RPGs online for nothing. In a sense, they help me learn English. Interesting. I hope you apply for and get a potition here.
I'm not an agent who ask English people to come and teach in Japan, but one of my dreams is to help such people out in terms of social benefits and working conditions when they come here.
Well, have a good day. I must go. There's an important hockey game, a Canadian team is facing elimination by an evil US-corporation-funded monster team.
hey guys what's up? i'm at school now, but i'm taking a study hall =) i didn't use English in my life a while. cuz i'm in the U.S. what are you guys doing?
I'm not a fan of Maki's, but I think Me and Maki are right for each other. I know we will get along well and you might say I should go on a date with her, but it's tough for me to ask her out for some reason.
You took my breath away why I didn't think there's a few Maki Horikita's fans stil on the world though the news of the eternal triangle between Kyoko Koizumi, Kazuya Kamenashi and Maki Horikita and between Kazuya Kamenashi, Tomohisa Yamashita and Maki Horikita have been breaking in the various mass medias. If you really like her, you must know it, don't you? Or have already knew it, why don't you reason with it?
>>597 What are you saying? I'm not her fan. People say Maki is an angel, as much as to say she's different from us, but they are wrong. She's just a girl. Just to clarify, I won't ask her out, but I think I'll accept her if she want to go out with me. That's all.
>>600 Sounds you're coming it over considerably. Certainly she's just a girl as well as me. But needless to say nobody's begging you to go out with you have no fear as you know well. And in addition, Maki also has a right which to choice people around her such as friends and a bf you know. I wanted to tell you was nothing but just it. HAHAHA lmfao
I walked in front of the fridge and bent down to take out a pack of frozen prepared food, then put it into a microwave and heated it. 3 minutes later, I took out the pack and cut it to put the food on a plate before starting to eat it. It was a kind of cooked rice with a piece of chicken and some vegetables in it. It was good. Still, I need one more pack to satisfy my stomach.
Ramen is one of my favorite foods. I can't resist its temptation when I pass a ramen place. In most cases when I'm hungry, I stop in it and tell the master chef to work on one with soy sauce flavored soup. I prefer to order a small bowl of rice at the same time so that I put some of the soup on it and eat. Some people don't do the same as I do. But you should wrap some soy-sauce-souped rice with seaweed using chopsticks. You should be surprised how good it taste. Believe me. Give it a go. I can assure you that you can really enjoy it.
that sounds very tasty. Now I feel the same temptation as you feel in front of that kind of shop. I can imagine flavorous black liquid being poured on white rice. My mouth is watered. I can't wait till the shop open.
Are you a good cook? As for me, I don't cook well. All I can do is heat prepared food, fry eggs and rice, or boil some kind of pasta(including Ramen). I sometimes dream of becoming a good cook and host my family with my great food, but it needs great training I can't get through.
I cut a ban in half, then put some chocolate cream on one of the half-cut ban, and put the other one onto it. I made a chocolate sandwitch! And I ate it. (munch, munch, munch) Now I feel half full. What should I eat next?
Did you see today's boxing matches on TV? Kameda Kouki knocked down the opponent just at the second round. He rushed to punch the opponent in the face repeatedly. I'm sure he will fight against a champion and defeat him.
>>657 Not "even if", but Fedor is actually the strongest of all human beings at the time. Anyway, on what measure do you rate him? He doesn't want anything to do with idols and computers, I guess.
When if Fedor touches my angel Maki chan's holy body on purpose, then my angel burst into tears, he would be defeated by me. He becomes the second strongest man. I just wanna say that.
Kouki has a big mouth no one can neglect. Everyone expects him to say something funny and disdainful when he opens him mouth to speak. Usually, his attitude toward his opponents must be considered rude and impolite but everytime he has fulfilled his promises he made before matches, people came to believe in him. All the things he says will be done. That's why people accept his way of behaving. Now that he have had exclusive seats for women only prepared where he fights, more and more females are really interested in him and stand behind him. There's no denying female idols have great interest in him, too.
>>664 That is the most ridiculous question I've ever been asked in my entire life. She will categoricaly reject his horny and superficial offer. Maki chan only loves me.
>>665 I don't think Kouki is rude to females. He's noble and gentle and sincere. So if he offers her to go out with him, he is serious. Don't worry about it.
hey do you know that depression is horrible? I am already wasted some things in life because of it u know it's ok to be depressed if u r 35yo but not if you are 18 lol
when I go to college I plan to spend my days alone, studing I dont even have a keitai because I dont need it, really. is it possible to be that lonely student? I mean all other students would think that I am crazy lol
>>714 You are correct about where I live, but unfortunately incorrect in your other statement. In the UK richer families live in rural areas, by the way. お前はいなか者ですか
mas, I know you're a faggot. cmon dont be shy.. we all know, you are a faggot. dont hide your trueself, please dont made girls unhappy by being such fag
this thread reminds me a night I spend in a gay club.. it was a MESS. you know why... all those fags have a dark past many of them barely graduated from a school. some of them are male-sluts... what a live we are living in.
Cool. I really want to return soon. Tell me, why don't people ever talk on the morning trains? For me it was quite a shock to be in a train with like 100 other people in complete silence.
seriously, I can't forget that girl on the train she was... perfect... she was just my copy... she looked at me twice and then she took a sit and close her eyes..
ack, so many threads i've missed, and i never even replied to the comment i was supposed to. I need to get around to it soon. Being busy all the time is annoying.
>>731 You were unaware of that before going there? o.O Strange.. I've always taken the bit about most Japanese people working hard to not impose on other people's space for granted, since that's one of the first things I got to know about it. Well, at least especially in the more tightly packed areas. It's one of the elements in Japan that many foreigners see as stereotype for it.
>>731 I tell you why, because we, Japanese, don't talk to strangers nor smile at strangers in our everyday life! We are all cold-blooded non-humanlike beings in this dog-eat-dog world! You don't realize that unless you look/sound/act 100% Japanese! We are cruel to our people and way nicer to whites!
You should abondon the idea that people are friendly to each other. To put it another way, they are really indifferent to, don't want anything to do with, and talk to, total strangers. Of course, I'm talking about those who live in urban areas. A bunch of people from rural areas have rushed to come to Tokyo, stayed there, and as a result changed the social environment of the past. There used to be kind and friendly people. But these are the days.
>>757 All you really need to know is that it's the biggest city in Canada and it's one of the world's most multicultural and ethnically diverse cities.
>>756 I take it from what you wrote in >>755 that it's saturday mid-night in your time? Then you can stay up before sleeping, can't you, if you are not going out in the morning, well, tommorrow?
>>766 That sounds like a really large number of them are accepted there. Speaking of immigrants, however, I sort of imagine there are ethnic conflicts between peoples, mild or bitter, I'm not sure. What happened to France and America recently has come back to me.
>>771 I see. If they meet people from other contries than theirs in person and speak with them, there might be oppotunities of respecting each other, IMO.
This may be a boring question to you, but I'm curious how people from overseas has come to know about 2ch? As you see in this thread and the "Discuss EnglishJapanese learning" thread, we have several English speaking people coming along here to talk with. But I've never asked them how they spotted 2ch. Is it a little famous around the world?
>>778 It's alright. I was doing other stuff that needed to get done. I just remembered that I've been up since 7:30AM. Maybe that's why I've been so tired. ('A`)
What software is popular for posting on 2ch? I'm posting from my web browser but I seem to remember there is some special software available. What is it called?
>>800 What's the name of that soft drink.. pockary sweat? That's supposed to be good too, according to what I've heard. I suggested water on top of the coffee in order to keep you hydrated enough, especially as coffee dehydrates. It usually is good to keep oneself not dehydrated when one is sick.
>>801 Pocari Sweat. That's a bizarre name, is it not? I learned a tip for taking a nap, you know. Have a cup of coffee right before you take a nap, and in about thirty minutes you will wake up miraculously sober and fine. That's because caffeine takes effect in approximately thirty minutes.
>>806 Hehh.. Pockari Sweat is a bizarre name indeed, though I don't like caffeine naps myself. But perhaps it is because of my extensive experience with caffeine. If there's something I've learned, it is that sleep and caffeine do not mix. For me it works much better to just take a nap, and then when I wake up sip on some ice-cold water, or orange juice (preferably with ice), and perhaps some coffee after that.
>>810 Ah. Though I've never seen that one, I've seen a lot of other shows of that type, including Family Ties (which someone compared it to amongst the comments on IMDB).
>>816 Heh? Could you elaborate on that statement? I more of meant that it's usually seen as more acceptable for one to imbibe alcohol in the latter half of a "normal"-length cycle of being awake, than the former half.
>>820 I blame that on three things: 1) I always try to formulate my sentances as clearly as possible here. 2) When I'm tired and in mixed company I usually try to make sure no significant misunderstandments bound to pop up. 3) I'm reading The Great Gatsby this very minute (it's a school assignment), and have been for a while now. http://www.litfix.co.uk/fitzgerald/onlinetexts/gatsby/chapter1.html
>>824 ...I should have read the previous bits of this part xD I so was not aware of that the mittens character had appeared here xD Ahh, good times, good times.
>>826 Please don't be so meticulous about spellings and grammar. That was obvious and anyone can understand it's just a typo. Correct yourself only when you made serious mistakes. I can misspell eni tyme i wont yoo noh.
>>829 Unfortunately I haven't read those books yet. So far The Great Gatsby leaves me unimpressed. I think the main reason for why it's so loved is because it's easy to interprent it in different ways, as well as it dealing with classical and timeless subjects. And my impression (from what I've heard about the book) is that Nick really seems utterly smitten with Gatsby, in a nonsexual manner. He seems to be in love with the idea of the existence of people who can feel like him.
>>834 ...lol! Laten? What? *giggles madly* Hmm... Now that I look at my text though, it looks sorta a bit like bastardized Dutch.. I was originally gonna type with a thick Swedish accent, but I figured it would be too difficult to understand for people who are not familiar with Swedish letter-pronounciation.
>>839 With 2ch browser, you can almost never mistake the number of post you respond to. You just click on the number, and select "Reply to this" from the pull-down menu. You can alse reply with qoates: >>837 > >>834 > ...lol! Laten? What? *giggles madly* > Hmm... Now that I look at my text though, it looks sorta a bit like > bastardized Dutch.. I was originally gonna type with a thick Swedish > accent, but I figured it would be too difficult to understand for > people who are not familiar with Swedish letter-pronounciation.
>>841 Well, yes. Just doesn't seem practical for me to use another program yet for replying to this thread when this board is the only one I visit at 2ch, and rather seldomly at that.
~~When I look back upon my life It's always with a sense of shame I've always been the one to blame For everything I long to do No matter when or where or who Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin It's a sin Everything I've ever done Everything I ever do Every place I've ever been Everywhere I'm going to It's a sin~~
~~Father, forgive me, I tried not to do it Turned over a new leaf, then tore right through it Whatever you taught me, I didn't believe it Father, you fought me, 'cause I didn't care And I still don't understand
So I look back upon my life Forever with a sense of shame I've always been the one to blame For everything I long to do No matter when or where or who Has one thing in common, too
Sinner rider, rides in with the storm The devil rides beside him The devil is his god, God help you mourn Do you, do you hear it, do you hear the thunder Deafen every living thing about Can you, can you see it, can you See the mountains darken yonder Black sun rising, time is running out
Sacrifice to vice or die by the hand of the Sinner! Sinner! Sinner! Sinner!
His steed of fury, Eyes of fire and mane ablaze Demonic vultures stalking Drawn by the smell of war and pain He roams the starways Searching for the carcasses of war But if it's hungry then its very presence Disrupts the calm into the storm
Curse and damn you all you'll fall by the hand of the Sinner! Sinner! Sinner! Sinner!
God of the Devils, God of the Devils Won't you help them pray God of the Devils, God of the Devils Is there no other way
Can't you hear their souls calling out in their plight Can't you see their blood is boiling setting them alight
Thirty years now sleeping, so sound War raises its head, and looks slowly around The Sinner is near, sensing the fear And the beast will start movin' around
Can't you see their souls calling out in their brain Can't you hear their blood is boiling setting them alight

Beautiful, oh web of stars that looms amid the sons of Earth Enfolds me in thine sylvan arms that unity's vehement charms befalls a weary son of Earth
Beautiful, in tears bereaved in sylphlike sadness, left to bleed Bewailed upon a bed of thorns, impaled, a heart, on sorrow's horns A seeker's ode to thee I read My tearful soul thy mourning heed
The stream that leaves thine open wounds; A life-blood licked by hungry hounds No verdant balm to soothe our wounds Wherefore betwixt two worlds I'm torn Ere thralled by sin I'll die - forlorn
This slumbering world of shallow fools may one day clasp the cosmic Hell lest journeymen by Earthen rules bring forth the truth for which Angels fell
To the earth and sky and sea I call that thou may answer me; Father of Nature, of beast and mankind, my soul for thy love, my tears for thy pain ...An Eden in fire, what lives shan't remain
For when I live under a different sky, beneath the ethereal hills the clouds passing by Remember the time of which I cried to be part Remember these words, for they have flown from my heart.

>>853 Nur ein bisschen. Ich versteht viel, aber ich kann nicht spreche... Even though I should... Ah well. I'm working on improving it. My boyfriend's German, too. I pity him for having to put up with me butchering his language xD

>>868 My boyfriend? Yes. He visited 2ch long before I ever did. However he tends to look at other boards when he visits this place, rather than the English board. And that poster is indeed my boyfriend, I got a bit surprised at seeing that here, as I was (and still am) chatting with him over messenger, and he hadn't said anything about that he was still looking at this thread. He rarely ever posts, if at all. I think he's posted less than a dozen times in this thread since I started to visit this board, though the other posts have been done anonymously.
>>870 ... o.O;; Whut? You might wanna try to get those glitches fixed... And remember that jokes like that go over my head without an explenation :-p I don't know as much about 2ch memes as you do. Not the least bit, you know :-p I vote for you coming up with something more original as a handle than my name, so nyah.
Do you think the next thread should be built? In my opinion, we should put this thread into several specific themes like sports/music/politics and what have you. Why do we have only "chatting" threads? It's too general.
>>911 No one wants to talk about specific themes, you know. We just like to say good morning and chat about general stuff. It's easier to say, "we need to specificaly talk about something", but just creat a new thread that appeals to a number of people and retain them. Of course, a newly built thread always seems to be coming along fine at first. But I have never seen such a thread continue to be successful. People in it soon get bored and realise they shouldn't have done that. So I will never stand behind your proposal.
>>912 I see what you mean. But you missed a big point there. Off the top of my head, we have never had a sports/music/politics thread so far. I mean, we may have had a bit more specific themed threads like "discussion in English" and "dirty talk in English" or whatever. And as you said they were no goog. Still, we haven't yet tried to focus on specific things as I pointed out. So it might be a good idea to give it a try. Allow me to take another example, there are many anime fans abroad around the world and they have webpages. I think if they know they can talk about Japanese subcultures here in the biggest Japanese message board, they will be here to stay. And you can't deny there must be a lot of sports maniac all over the world. There's no point staying the same. We should make good progress. Creating many kinds of threads in which we can communicate in English is the only way to keep this board vital and popular.
>>913 I strongly disagree with you. If there had been a need for specific threads, we would have had one so far. But obviously not. This explains a lot. No one wants to talk about other things than "hi, how are you?".
>>915 I'm afraid I have the impression that you are wrong. As things stand, sure, this general thread is sort of active and that's the reason people say "hi, how are you?" and take extra time to know what should be discussed here. That is, time is running out and end the superficial conversation. If specific themed threads will be set up, they can talk about what they want soon. No need to use up time. You know that.
>>915 And I don't want you to take this personally, but I guess non-Japanese people coming here because they want to know more about Japan, especially both Japanese traditional and sub cultures. How in the world do you think they only want to say Hello?
>>919 Well, you might be wrong. I don't say they want to read funny English, but at least, it's only a part of the reason they bother to pay a visit to a Japanese message board.
>>922 Oh, yeah? Then what? Face the music and read their minds. They pretend to be nice, but they talk behind you all along. How funny it is to tease Japanese!
>>923 What makes you think so? You seem to be suffering from what seems like delusion. They come here to talk about something, not to tease us Japanese.
>>928 No, that's not what I wanted to mean. I didn't say, "we have no native English speakers here". I just wanted to say, "I admit there may be some native speakers who come here to read OUR funny English, but not all of them."
>>919 If I'd want to read funny English, I'd go to Engrish.com :-p And if people want to create threads for discussing specific things in English, then they should go ahead and do so! However that would be no replacement of this thread, merely a complementary addition to the already existent threads on this board.
>>950 needs to not forget to create next part of this thread after this one is gone.
>>934 What is your idea concerning what theme is good for the English board? It's easier to say, "it doesn't concern me" and just walk away! We should be sensitive to what is being looked at, and reflect upon as many different perspectives as possible.
>>936 I'm relieved to hear that. Come to think of it, I'd never make fun of English-speaking people who is learning the Japanese language that try writing what they want to convey in Japanese. By the way, do you think you don't want to participate in a thread with a specific theme? I thought many people wanted to talk about something more specific.
Dr.Strauss says I shoud rite down what I think and remembir and evrey thing that happins to me from now on. I dont no why but he says its importint so they will see if they can use me. I hope they use me becaus Miss Kinnian says maybe they can make me smart. I want to be smart. My name is Anti-Miyadai I am 32 yeres old neet and next munth is ny brithday
As long as I am able to write, I will continue to put down my thoughts and ideas in these sociological reports. It is one of my few solitary pleasures and is certainly necessary to the completion of this research. I have checked and rechecked my data a dozen times in hope of finding an error, but I am sorry to say the results must stand. Yet, I am grateful for the little bit that I here add to the knowledge of the function of the human mind and of the laws governing the artificial increase of human intelligence. The other night Dr. Dtrauss was saying that an experimental failure, the disproving of a theory, was as important to the advancement of learning as a success would be.
ENGLISH board on 2ch is for discussions on the Engish language itself which inevitably leads this board to be occupied by the learners of English in Japan. If you really want English discussion forums that any English speakers around the world can participate, the first thing to do would be to make the world know about 2ch. And then ask the management to set up an International Board.
The following considerations assume that there are systems. Thus they do not begin with epistemological doubt. They also do not advocate a“purely analytical relevance”for systems theory. The most narrow interpretation of systems theory as a mere method of analyzing reality is deliberately avoided. Of course, one must never confuse statements with their objects; one must realize that statements are only statements and that scientific statements are only scientific statements. But, at least in systems theory, they refer to the real world. Thus the concept of system refers to something that is in reality a system and thereby incurs the responsibility of testing its statements against reality.
>>952 Of course it's GOOD, my dear Watson! But it may be difficult for ENGLISH board to function that way since there are not many people who are eager to discuss anything.
>>954 Let me make myself clear then. To my mind, what makes 2ch energetic and popular depends on its anonymous posting system, and compared to 4chan, as you said, there are more learners of English, which is, those who are at the elementary level and the intermidiate level cannot be scared of posting in English. Advanced learners can go there, though.
>>957 That's true. And I've never seen a more energetic message forum anywhre else. And I agree that anonymity of 2ch is what made it grow big as it is now, but most of anonymous posts are only about temporary topics, not long-term themes. It would be difficut and confusing to discuss about certain topic not knowing who said what or who has what viewpoint. Discussions are continuity of statements. This is why I think anonymity is not a good factor when you want to have deep discussions or debate on serious issues. Besides, total freedom could lead to mayhem.
>>959 Thanks for the input. Yes, you have a point. In the course of discussion, we sometimes go out of the main topic of a thread. But still, it'd be more like 2ch, don't you think?
Let me put aside mayhem things for now, and talk about contiuity of statements. If you want to prove yourself as the same poster after you respond to someone, then you can put your name in the name box. And contrary to this general thread, in a specific themed thread gather people who want to discuss/talk about the theme. So you don't have to suggest what should be discussed between casual aquaintances. You can soon enjoy talking about the topic in question.
In the first place, you don't need to talk back to specific posters. That's 2ch. Let's say, people discuss something like this in other thread in 2ch. And if one doesn't like it, then he/she can go to other message boards.
_、_ Hmm, 2ch may be big, but if you look at this ENGLISH board in particular, ( ,_ノ` )y━・~~~ it's one of those isolated boards. The problem is, how you gather people.
>>966 You are right. That is a challenge. Most of people who visit the board have interest in English. English is a thing we have in common. But at the same time, you happen to meet someone who have the same taste as yours, but after the short conversation, there are not chances you can meet him/her again. In the unlikely event the person comes back here again, you cannot always talk to him again. Finally, you give up. That's a shame.
But if we have built a thread for a specific theme, it's more likely that you can meet them again. That's worth a try.
So it might be wise to look into what's hot among us. If we creat a thread for an unpopular topic, it will go inactive and deserted soon. What do you think?
_、_ ( ,_ノ` )y━・~~~ Well, to be perfectly candid with you mister Ambassador, I don't think your plan will work out too well. Even though we make threads for specific themes, they are bloody likely to be buried in other countless Japanese-speaking threads of miscellaneous subjects. You need at least one board specially built for English-only postings. This is what I suppose mister President.
