こんにちは、精読スレから邪魔しにきました^^

Tom Clancy, Micheal Criton, Robin Cook, Thomas Harris, Frances Hodgson Burnet,
Robert Louis Stevenson, Lewis Carol, Laura Ingals Wilder, Albert Camus,
Jules Verne, Alexandre Dumas, Chales Dickens, Antoine Saint Exupery,
J. D. Salinger, Jeffrey Archer など著作権切れのクラシック作品の英文、
LOOK INSIDEで公開された一部の英文と辞書を引いて調べた結果、考察、
疑問点などを自由に書いていこうと思っています

またまだヒヨッコで、辞書なしですらすらというわけにはいきません(T_T)
このスレの前の方から中ほどのように、John Grishamのを1週間程度という
早いペースで読めっこありません、かなーり、がんばっても1ヶ月で1冊です

なので、それは前もってお伝えしておきます(^^;

上記作家でリクエストがあれば、お願いします
使用辞書についても英和・英英の種別、語彙レベルの希望があれば書いてください
なければ、中級学習英英で、5,000〜1万語程度、新聞が辞書ありで読めるくらいの想定で語句調べをやります
Arthur Conal Doyle, Maurice Leblancも、喜んでやります
上記作家以外の場合は、他の人が書いてくれることを期待しています
他の人が上記作家について精読やってくれるのは大歓迎です^^

「毎週〜」というスレタイからすると、参加資格がないとも言えますが、
スレの初めの方を見ると、やっぱり初めは一ヶ月に一冊のペースだと書いている人が複数いるようですし、

というわけで、数日中にリクエストがなければ、
今読んでるThomas Harris, HannibalのLOOK INSIDEから始めようと思います
訳書があるものについては、一読してることが前提で、必要がなければ訳を載せるつもりはありません

翻訳書と読み比べながらなんで、ペースあがらないけど、よろしく。

とりあえず、読み始めたところでは、
「帰結を示すonly」とでも呼べるような「only」の使い方が頻出してて興味深い感じ。

yournetの規制に巻き込まれてて、レスできません。
「Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less」はもう買って読み進めていますが、
今は果樹園の仕事が忙しいので、あまり進んでいません(^^;

みなさんが今のを終わって次のペーパーバックに進んだら、

ようやく規制明けしたようです(^^;
なんかすっかりみなさん、やる気なくしてしまったような...

私のほうは、さくらんぼの出荷の時期になってまして、
訳書はひととおり読み終わってますが、原書の方は、まだ半分くらいです
また、来年3月までの別の仕事も入ってきて忙しくなるので、ペースはずっと上がりそうもありません(><;

今まで読んだところでは、平易な文章で、同じ作者の「Kane and Able」よりはずっと易しいなといいう印象です
ストーリは、頭がいいというかずるがしこい人の話で、すごく面白く、ためになる話です

途中、フランス語なんかの表現もあって、
"Jean-Pierre dialed the number of the Casino and asked to speak to Pierre Cattalano:

とか。私はフランス語は簡単なものしかわかりませんが、それでも結構楽しめる感じです^^

娯楽小説とかにでてくるフランス語は英語圏の読者にしたら
常識程度のフランス語だろうから、ちょっと齧ってるだけでも大分ちがうね。

私も、少しは精読をしようと思っていたのですが、
なにしろyournetは規制がひどくて、最近よく巻き込まれるようになりまして、
ぜんぜん書けませんでした。また、仕事もいそがしいしで、やる気なくしてました(><;

最近、規制長すぎだよまったく。

アーチャーは、80ページまで読んでストップ中。
最近は、別な本読んでた。bad monkeys ってやつ。
羊たちの沈黙とマトリックスを足して二で割ったような本と
裏表紙に書いてあったので衝動買い。30ページほど読んだとこ。


それほど面白くない。

お久しぶりです。長い間、規制に巻き込まれてました。
俺も別の本読んだりして中断してたので、ようやく4分の3を越えたくらいです（「Chapter 15」に入りました）。
面白くなってきたので、かなりスムーズになってきました。

英文の感想としては、構文はそれほど難しくないけど、
おしゃれな表現で、日本語にうまく訳すの難しいな、というところです。
フランス語まったく知らないので、フランス語のところはちんぷんかんぷんでした。

いったんage

９月からLawrence Blockの何か希望
泥棒バーニーはシャレが効いててユーモラスなハードボイルドで
そこそこ展開が気になる（アーチャーの初期作品には負けるけど）から
１か月で１冊読み切れるんじゃないかと思うがどうか
マスマーケット版なら安いし確かキンドルもある
Chapter1だけタダで試し読んで脱落するのもよし
