While the delegate clearly sought to dampen the optimism that has emerged recently, she stopped short of suggesting that the conference was near collapse and might produce nothing of significance.
Ah, I could post in English? Hey, I'm kind of feeling I'm stupid. I just realized you're all taking GRE so you're quite fluent in English. I should know better than to spout crappy moon runes!
So who's gonna start the continuing thread? Me thinks we need it, and I don't think I can do it.
Thanks for your quick reply. I haven't watch or read the series and I was like WTF when I read his post. Still I don't quite understand what exactly it means though... Maybe I should learn Japanese more and, of course, hone my English skills; you see, >>968 should read "Sorry if I offended you."
Anyway, it seems we've done enough to help >>923, and I should get going. I hope you all do well in your exams.
>>971 I know that explaining a joke is like killing a frog by dissecting it, as Mark Twain said, but I also know how frustrating it is to miss a cultural reference, so here is my explanation.
That line is from Amuro, the protagonist of the original Gundam, and it literally means, "I'm the best Gundam pilot!" He was thrown into a cell after he refused to obey orders of his superior. He experienced an identity crisis as a Gundam pilot as a result, and suffered tremendously from an inferiority/superiority complex. I posted >>964 just to poke fun at those who tried to come up with the "best" translation of >>923, that's all.
