It took me a little bit long time to learn that a deep happiness eventually brings a sadness to us, while a deep sadness brings a happiness. When we are in great happiness, our body and mind starts to bring the sadness in order to keep us from going to the extreme, as is so often case with organizms.
Every organizm including single-celled organisms, animals, plants, human beings, societies and Gaea, when it is likely to be in an extreme state, to protect itself from its destruction, controls the state and often goes even into the contrary state. It is an essential function of the organic system.
But why should the happiness be restrained?
There is an anwer that the happiness damages the body. You no doubt have the experience in feeling pains when you were in too great hapiness. Clearly, the excessive emotions do harm to the body. It is the reason why we can't be in too great happiness and keep happy. We can be only in calm and not sequent hapiness.

to point out "3ninsho" using his~ or he is not the best way in term of the equality of the sexes, which i was told by my professor. but actually i can pick up a lot of example of using his or he this way in some philosophy texts. could be my stereotype image, i assume some philophers still think philosophy is only for guys. and, i meant i am so bored, so i am glad to see and check anyone' english. by 200res.

When asked what the most important invention in human history is, my answer would be the Internet. Even though the net still has some problems to be solved such as security and obscene contents, I strongly believe that it has benefited our society and let me explain why.
>>220 うーん、>>221のいうのもそうだよなぁ。 security issues とかそういうのがあるんではと最初におもった。 When asked, which invention has been the most important ever in human history, I answer "The Internet." When asked what the most important invention in human history is, I would answer, "the Internet." Even though the net still has some problems to be discussed and settled; problems such as security issues and inappropriate contents,
Firstly, the Internet plays a significant role as a vast information resource. It can distribute knowledge and ideas which are not limited to the printed word. It can disseminate sound and motion pictures as well. In addition, "search engines" on the World Wide Web allow you to locate information on any subject you can imagine in just a few seconds.
Secondly, the net enables people to communicate on line. With e-mail, you can send messages without having to get stamps or go to the mailbox. Also, you can even meet strangers by using "Chat" on a virtually real-time basis.
In conclusion, the Internet has benefited our society by providing a vast information resource and establishing new communication systems.

While you are young, you don't pay attention to life after you get old. But everybody will get old. So, I think when you reach 50 years old, you should start preparing for retired life.
I think that you should prepare yourself in two directions, one is mental and the other physical. The reason why I say so is because, if you are mentally vigorous but physically frail, you will not be able to enjoy your retired life to the fullest extent, and vice versa.
In my case, based on this philosophy, I am now studying English translation for mental development and learning ballroom dancing for physical development. Both are quite enjoyable and consequently I am looking forward to fully participating in them. The most ideal case is when you can share your hobbies with your spouse. In this regard, I am lucky because my wife is also learning ballroom dancing with me.
The other day I found the homepage of a cyber bookstore called amazon.com, and I used it to buy an american book. It was very easy to use. You have only to type in your name, credit card number and the book title according to the instructions. The book was delivered to me in no time without any problems. I was quite impressed with the convenience provided by the Internet.
Now, the question is whether online trading is completely safe. Unfortunately, the answer to this question is no. Fraud online is probably as serious a problem as it is in the real world. As there are con men and hucksters in the real world, there are con men and hucksters in cyberspace, too.
In conclusion, the Internet is very handy. For example, you can buy american books without leaving your desk. But you should know better than to place orders with unknown sellers because it could result in fraud.

【Is Japan a comfortable country for foreigners to live in?】
With the internationalization of business activities, there are a lot of Japanese working overseas and a lot of foreigners working in Japan. Therefore, it is worthwhile to consider whether Japan is a comfortable country for foreigners - here I mean legal foreign workers - to live in. In terms of salary, I would say yes, but in other respects, I must say no. I'll discuss some reasons why.
Firstly, some Japanese still discriminate against foreign residents. Foreigners, especially from other Asian countries are being segregated. For example, there are those who are turned away when they try to shop or rent out an apartment, and so on. Part of the reason may be because legal workers are being mistaken for illegal ones.
Secondly, not only individuals, but also the Japanese government practices discrimination, too. Foreigners, even those with permanent resident status, are not allowed to vote. If you put yourself in their place, I'm sure that you'd feel quite annoyed by the fact. In the Nordic countries, local suffrage was given to permanent foreign residents in the 1980's.
In conclusion, Japan should eradicate discrimination against foreign residents and make a better society where Japanese and foreign residents can amicably co-exist.
>>262 趣味で前半変更してみた。 With the globalization of business activities, there are many Japanese working overseas, while a number of foreigners are working in Japan as well. Therefore, I think it worthwhile to consider whether Japan is comfortable enough for foreigners - here I mean legal foreign workers - to live in. In terms of salary, I would say yes, but in other respects, I would have to say no. I'll discuss some reasons why I think this way.
Firstly, some Japanese still discriminate foreigners. Foreigners, especially those from other Asian countries are being segregated. For example, some foreigners are turned away when they try to shop or rent out an apartment. Sometimes, legal workers are mistaken for illegal workers and turned away, but in many cases, the reason may be pure racism. If you put yourself in their place, I'm sure that you'd feel quite annoyed. In Nordic countries, local suffrage was given to permanent foreign residents in as early as the 1980's. It is projected that one third of Japan's population will be 65 or older by the middle of the 21st century, and the Health and Welfare Ministry predicts that the number of elderly in need of services will reach 5.2 million in 2025. This means that the Japanese public health care insurance system will encounter bankruptcy unless some effective measures are taken.
Now, it is good that the Japanese government is well aware of the problem and is discussing how to cope with it. One thing clear to me, however, is that each individual should very carefully prepare for his or her own future, because there will be a limit to what the state insurance system for the elderly can do.
In summary, all people will get old, and the public insurance system will not provide enough. So, by then you should have set aside a certain amount of money for your own retired life in order not to put your family into the specter of a "nursing hell."
たとえば、 the Health and Welfare Ministry->the Ministry of Health and Welfare number of elderly-> number of the elderly/number of elderly people provide enough->provide enough coverage by then->by the time you are old yourself
Sexual misconduct among statesmen is not new. About ten years ago, then Japanese Prime Minister Sosuke Uno was forced to resign following allegations that he had had an improper sexual relationship with a woman. Just last year it was proved that U.S. President Clinton had sexual misconduct with Monica Lewinsky in the White House. Now this year, Osaka's incumbent governor Yokoyama Knock was charged with molesting a female university student while campaigning.
I wonder why such high ranking statesmen like the U.S. President, Japanese Prime Minister and Osaka Governor get involved in such vulgar deeds. Having seen this misconduct by statesmen, I reason that high ranking statesmen are probably overwhelmed by daily mental stress and their misconduct may be the result of this excessive stress.
So, in a sense, I am a sympathetic towards them, but I also think that statesmen should control themselves more strictly than the rank and file.

【Safety issues of the nuclear power plant in Tokaimura】
It was only last September 30 when Japan's worst ever peacetime nuclear accident occurred in Tokaimura, Ibaraki Prefecture, where an uncontrollable chain reaction started. The accident left more than sixty people exposed to excessive radiation that will cause long lasting health problems. The accident was caused by professional negligence where the company was violating nuclear power plant regulations.
Since this accident, opposition to nuclear power is becoming more and more vocal. I can well understand people's worries. However, if you take a moment to consider whether we have an alternative to nuclear power, you will find that it is the only solution for when fossil fuels run out.
Now, the question is how we are going to live together with nuclear power. The only answer to this question is that people must become very knowledgeable about nuclear matters and must know how to use nuclear power safely.
【Should English be an official second language in Japan?】
Recently, calls to make English an official second language have grown increasingly louder. However, I don't think that Japan should make English an official second language. Let me explain why.
Firstly, Japan should not make English an official language just because it will bring economic advantage. The Japanese government wants to increase people's working knowledge of English mainly for business reasons. To this end, further promotion of educational reforms would bring satisfactory results.
Secondly, historically, there have been three reasons for giving a language official status, and today's Japan doesn't fit into any of them. The three reasons are: dominant immigrants force their language on a dominated people; a dominated people attain official status for their language as a means to restore its use, or, the language serves as a communication conduit in multicultural countries. Respective examples of these are English and Spanish in the Americas, Welsh in Wales and English in India or Singapore.
In conclusion, I fail to see the necessity for making English an official second language in Japan.
【The growing number of mentally ill school teachers】
It is a regretful trend that the number of school teachers with mental problems is growing rapidly in Japan. Once schoolteachers get mental disorders, they get into the situation where they don't want to talk to their students or even go to school. This is a serious problem, because a continuation of this situation will devastate both teachers and students in Japan.
I think two factors contribute to mental problems in schoolteachers.
One is the growing amount of disruptive or uncontrollable behavior of children at school, such as walking on desks during lessons. Schoolteachers get sick facing such chaotic incidents.
Second, making the situation worse, parents tend to take sides with the children when problems surface. Thus, schoolteachers have no place to turn, and end up suffering excessive mental stress.
It is good news that the education ministry has decided to install a panel to address mental problems among teachers. I hope effective measures come out as soon as possible for the sake of teachers and students.
【The increasing amount of heinous crime committed by teenagers】
Recently, the number of serious crimes committed by teenagers is increasing. In order to reduce juvenile crime, it is worthwhile considering the possible reasons why current teenagers resort to violent crimes. I'll discuss some of my assumptions.
Firstly, the lack of communication which prevails throughout our society - in the family, in the community, in school - is a part of the reason for the increase in juvenile crime. Unlike the old days, community ties have been weakened and adults are too busy working. Children themselves are also busy attending cram schools in preparation for entrance exams. In fact, troubled youths have nowhere to turn to.
Secondly, the inclination to be absorbed in TV and video games has an ill effect on children's mental state. For example, a junior high school student who murdered a boy in Kobe is reported to have watched violent horror movies. It is also reported that an obsession with violent scenes in the media makes children confuse the real world with virtual worlds.
In conclusion, it is important for adults to consider why so many young people now resort to violence so easily and what we should do to prevent it.
It may not be easy but we need to create a society where children can express their true feelings and still be accepted.
The non-profit activities promotion law came into effect in 1998. As issues have become more complex and diversified, the government alone cannot cope with them and thus the roles of NGOs - Non Governmental Organisations, equipped with expertise and flexibility in their own fields - are expanding. I'll discuss some fields where NGO activities are urgently needed.
Firstly, further promotion of care for children and the elderly is expected. We need more childcare facilities and support for single mothers. As for care of the elderly, NGOs can offer more reasonable and higher quality service than the nursing care insurance system. I hope NGOs can provide educational institutions and create jobs for the elderly.
Secondly, further promotion of activities for environmental protection and recycling is essential. Unfortunately, Japanese people are far less conscious of these issues than they should be. So I hope NGOs will help us to become more green in many ways.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that NGOs will play a more significant role in the future. Thus, governments need to establish effective laws to support their activities financially.
Organ transplants are still quite controversial in Japan because of the absence of an established system and people's lack of understanding. I would like to discuss these problems.
First of all, the procedures for doctors to declare the donor brain dead are so complicated that there is a lot of room for doubt.
Secondly, if the declaration of brain death goes well, the next barrier is whether the donor's family gives consent to a transplant. It is easy to imagine that facing the sad death of a loved one, family members may hesitate to consent to organ donation.
Last but not least, there is the issue of fair treatment of the patients who need organs. It would be disastrous if rich people could buy priority in getting organs. We must never ever let money violate fairness.
It is true that there are still many issues to be solved before organ transplants become really popular in Japan. But we must work together in solving those problems because it is obvious that organ transplants will save many people's lives.
【Why are there so few women politicians in Japan?】
It was great news that Seiko Hashimoto, the Upper House Diet member won the right to use her maiden name and to take maternity leave. However, compared to other developed nations, Japan still only has a few women politicians. Now let me discuss some reasons for that.
Firstly, maternity leave hasn't been formally allowed for women legislators yet. Without this right, it's no wonder that few young women want to commit themselves to a life in politics. Compared to the situation in Britain where Prime Minister Tony Blair was expected to take paternity leave to set an example, you can see how far Japan lags behind in this field.
Secondly, regretfully, most people still think that politics is a man's world. In fact, even if women run for election, only few can win. Right now, fewer than 10 percent of seats in both houses are held by women.
In conclusion, the absence of a maternity leave system and strong notions that leaders should be men hinder women's participation in politics. Now is the time for the Diet to begin thinking about paid maternity and paternity leave for its members.
Japan is now suffering a long-term recession. The unemployment rate is the worst since World War II. The world's leaders are worrying about Japan, because if Japan can't recover from its recession, the crisis of Asian countries will deteriorate, endangering the world economy.
The question is whether the Japanese economy can rebound. I think that the Japanese economy will rebound in a couple of years but it will be in a moderate manner. I would like to say why I think so.
First, It has already been ten years since Japan plunged into severe recession. During this period, Japan has decreased much of its bad debt. That will help people start investing.
Second, Japan has gone through a restructuring process in many areas such as banking and manufacturing. Those industries are now stronger and more reliable than before. This is also a good factor.
Last but not least, Japan's infrastructure is robust.
In conclusion, the Japanese economy is suffering but I believe this suffering has come close to an end and it will rebound in no time.
The unraveling of the full sequence of human DNA is a scientific wonder. If we apply this technology to medicine, for example, it will contribute to extending life-expectancy. However, I believe that practical use of human genetic data should only start after appropriate guidelines are established. I'll discuss some issues which need stringent guidelines.
Firstly, there is the issue of privacy. When the time comes when everyone has his own genetic information, on CD for example, there will be a temptation to pry into other people's information, and this attitude will allow genetic discrimination. For example, if you go to a job interview and the interviewer can get your DNA information somehow, and if it turns out that you have a high risk factor for manic depression, you are not likely to get the job. Therefore, we need laws guaranteeing absolute privacy of your genetic information.
Secondly, there's the issue of whether it is right to modify the genetic code. Many people would be enthusiastic to make their children more intelligent, better-looking or more sociable. This way of thinking is quite dangerous because it will lead to humans being manufactured to order. For these reasons, I'd like to see a ban on modifying human DNA.
In conclusion, even though genetic information is likely to give us benefits, ethical guidelines and principles should be established first.
The digital divide refers to the gap in access to information technology between different people and different regions. It has become a serious problem in that it widens the gap between advanced nations and developing ones. Even within industrialized nations like the U.S., the same problem is prevalent.
However, I don't think the digital divide will be a very serious problem in Japan. Let me discuss why.
The reason I say so is because the situation differs between the U.S. and Japan. The main reasons causing the digital divide in the states lie in geographical, racial and economic factors. Japan is such a small country that almost all regions have telephone lines. Race is not a serious issue, because Japan is a racially homogeneous nation. So the only problem would be the economic aspect.
And I believe this economic problem will soon be solved by lowered connection fees, because demand for deeper cuts in NTT's fees is growing both inside and outside Japan.
For these reasons, I don't think a digital divide will bother Japan so much.
In recent years, genetic engineering technology has been widely applied, and is contributing to the development of new medicines and plants. If we apply this technology to obtaining a larger grain harvest, for example, the threatened food shortage could be alleviated. So there is no question about the effects of continuing and promoting the technology.
But some people raise the question of whether genetically engineered food would be safe. My answer to this question is yes and no.
The reason why I say so is because it could be safe or dangerous depending on how you use it. If you take a look at cars, for example, you can easily understand my point. Today cars are so helpful to us that we can no longer do without them, but they could turn out to be dangerous weapons if we use them wrongly.
In conclusion, I think genetically engineered food or genetic engineering could be dangerous if we use it wrongly, but there is no reason not to use it because it could be dangerous.
The Internet is fashionable among all kinds of people. Some people even say that the Internet is so educational that it should be introduced and taught in all schools. President Clinton also said the other day that America will do all it can so that every school child can use the Internet by the time they are thirteen years old.
I personally think that school children must learn how to think and how to interact with friends rather than studying how to play around on the Internet. My point is that studying how to use the Internet does not take much time. Probably one week will be enough. Therefore, you may want to study how to use computers after school.
You have more important things to study than the Internet.
In conclusion, the Internet can be a good tool for grown-ups in obtaining useful information, but you should master how to use it after school. In school you have many other things to study.

Mom, why does a time come when I have to break even what I've built?

The raid was at a building in central Baghdad. Men armed with automatic rifles burst in and made their way to a set of underground cells where they found 175 people huddled together. They had been captured by paramilitaries and tortured. The terrified, mainly Sunni, captives had been held in an office of the Iraqi interior ministry, and the rescue party were Iraqi police and American soldiers. Yesterday, 24 hours later, the Prime Minister, Ibrahim Jaafari, promised an investigation after the shocking demonstration of how paramilitary units working for the government, and death squads allegedly linked to it, are waging a savage war in the shadows.

I'm a biginner of English. I'd appreciate it if you correct my English.
Now, I'm going to talk about myself. Talking about English, In fact, I didn't like it when I was in high school. I dare to say that I loathed it. I thought I would never study it after graduating.
However, a certain event which I experienced in University made a change in me. It was a couple of years ago. My university put an advertisement about student exchange for one month. I wanted to do something new so I decided to join that program.
That was my turningpoint. Being able to talk with people from a lot of deffent countries were an excellent thing. I came to like learning other languages.
You can say a lot of events in the past, say a year ago, or 10 years ago or even a century ago , which could be far more important than what just happened yesterday.
There were myriads of events and incidents that took place a year, a decade, or even a century ago and that were greatly more significant than those that just happened yesterday.
In Egypt, ten Sudanese refugees were killed when police fired water cannons and beat migrants with clubs to break up a protest camp where hundreds had lived for months, demanding resettlement abroad. Egypt's Interior Ministry blamed the violence on the protesters. And they said the clashes caused a stampede in which 30 people were wounded, mostly elderly and children. However, stampede was not seen. And the protesters made no attempt to run away. As many as 2,000 Sudanese were crammed into the camp which is a little larger than a tennis court, demanding the U.N. refugee agency promise them resettlement abroad. The UNHCR announced that it had reached a deal with some of the protest leaders promising to resume hearing some cases and offering aid for housing. But most of those in the camp rejected the deal, saying they wanted promises of resettlement abroad. About 30,000 Sudanese are registered as refugees in Egypt, and estimates of Sudanese living in this country have ranged from 200,000 to several million. But it is difficult to support them, because Egypt also suffers from high unemployment and strained social services for its own population of 72 million.
And they said → and it said Ministryは普通はitで受ける。 Ten of the injured died in hospital, it said 〜 という記述がある。
However, stampede was not seen → However, no stampede was seen. stampede
As many as 2,000 Sudanese were crammed into the camp which is a little larger than a tennis court, demanding the U.N. refugee agency promise them resettlement abroad. これはAs many as 2,000 Sudanese who had demadedにした方が分かりやすい。

Hello, XXX. I listened to your music on the internet radio. I love your sounds!! Your saund is cool and beautifull. But, we can't buy your CD in Japan... What a pity!
I was confident that I would find a bright light somewhere and I found it in the eyes, hearts and souls of my fellow workers at Nissan.
なおIが3つ続くのはやや冗長なのでthere would be a bright light somewhereとするのもいい

Nissan was in bad shape. The company had been in a dark tunnel that seemed to have no end without a glitter of light in sight.

By the way, my town has been very cold and very snowy these days. Snowy day is hard to go to school for me. Because, everything outdoor is wearing the snow. And, roads are very icy. So, when I go to school by bicycle, I've often slipped on the ice
>By the way, my town has been very cold and very snowy these days.
>Snowy day is hard to go to school for me. Snowy day isはおかしい。A snowy day isかSnowy days areにしないといけない。 しかしSnowy days are hard to go to school for me. It is hard to go to school in snowy days.
>Because, everything outdoor is wearing the snow. wearing the snowはわざと擬人的な表現にしているならそれでもいいが,(それでもtheはいらない) 普通はcovered with (by) snow。
(By the way,) It's been very cold and snowy in my town these days. Everything outside is covered with snow, which makes it hard to go to school. And on my way to school by bicycle, I've slipped many times on icy roads.
初歩的ですみません(__) I agree to teach English for elementary school students. There are some reasons.Firstly, being able to speak English make use of global communication. It will be more important to speak English to talk with other country people. Secondly, the faster you learn English, the more interested you are in it. That is very important thing.
>I agree to teach English for elementary school students. forをtoにする。 teach something TO someoneであってforではない。 >There are some reasons 二つしかないんだからtwoでいい。 >Firstly, being able to speak English make use of global communication. being able to speak Englishは単数なのでmakeをmakesにする。 しかしbeing able to speak English makes use of global communicationでもよく意味が分からない。 >It will be more important to speak English to talk with other country people. willだといつのことなのか分からないので現在進行形のほうがいい。 なのでpeople from other countriesやforeign peopleにする。 またspeak English to talkとtoでつなげるのも不自然。 >Secondly, the faster you learn English, the more interested you are in it. fastは「速い」であって「早い」ではない。 >That is very important thing. aがぬけてる。
I agree with the idea of teaching English to elementary school students. There are two reasons for this. First, being able to speak English enables you to communicate globaly. It is becoming more and more important to talk to people from other countries in English. Second, and more importantly, the earlier you learn English, the more interested you get in it.
When he invites many of his friends to his house party, 後半はweで始めるとheとmany of his friendsをweで受けてることになって many of his friendsの中に自分が入っていることにはなるけど少し不自然なので many of his friendsの前にme andを付け加えれば少しはすっきりするかも それから元の日本語からだけはっきりとはいえないけどこれは未来のことを 言っているのではないでしょ?だからwillではなく現在形にする willにも習慣を表す意味はあるけどこういう文脈では使わない カラオケを歌うというのはsing karaoke オーディオルームはそのままaudio roomかな karaoke roomでもいいとは思うけど 盛り上がるは色々あるけど簡単にhave a lot of fun doingで表せるので we have a lot of fun singing karaoke in the audio room. in the audio roomはhisにしなくてtheでいい
When he invites me and many of his friends to his house party, we have a lot of fun singing karaoke in the audio room.
By reading a detective story ,we are absorbed in reading the book, therefore we get to completely troublesome things ,such as a project and a job and so on.
Of corse, many rules exist if we don't obey them and get to die.Howeber many people climb a mountain because thei don't have to obey human making rules in a mountain.
>>523 これは全体的によくない。 >By reading a detective story ,we are absorbed in reading the book. > therefore we get to completely troublesome things ,such as a project and a job and so on これは相当だめ。
One of the benefits we gain from (reading) detective novels is that we are so preoccupied with them that we (can) forget bothering projects or jobs even if temporarily.
>Of corse, many rules exist if we don't obey them and get to die. get to dieもかなりあやしい。 >Howeber many people climb a mountain because thei don't have to obey human making rules in a mountain. human makingなんて造語を作ってはいけない。 Although there are rules we cannot ignore not to risk our lives, what attracts many people to mountain climbing is that there are no rules made by men.
Although there certainly are rules we cannot ignore not to risk our lives, what attracts many people to mountain climbing is that there are no rules made by humans.
,many people are attracted to mountain climbing because there〜でもいい
Last Sunday, when I took my four-year-old daughter to the zoo, I was at a loss because she kept on asking me why an elephant has a long nose, why a rabbit has red eyes and so on. I feel a little kid has strong curiosity.
・because・・・の部分ですが、every time she asked me …., I was perplexedという感じにされたらいかがでしょうか。
>>535 >perplex someone with a difficult questionという表現がありますよ。 I was *perplexed* because she kept on asking me why an elephant has a long nose, why a rabbit has red eyes and so on.

The wheather plays an important role on human activities. For exaple, sales of department stores are influenced becasue the number of people who go shopping decrease when we have snow or rain. It is not often that fog prevents planes from starting and it is not rare that ships on the sea are forced to change their courses because of avoiding the bad wheather.

Thank you for praising my English. I recently have been restudying English from the basics by myself to make up for the lack of studying back when I was in school. But there is still much need for progress with my English.
I am collecting various video game items. The reason I purchased this software from you is to enlarge my collection with it. And I have the tools to play the USA SNES. I am looking forward to the arrival of the game.
いやまだ添削はしてないよw >Thank you for praising my English. >I taught myself English after graduating. graduatingで切れるのはよくない。 >I want to make good progress more in studying English. make good progress moreは変。make more progressでいい。 in studying Englishはstudyingが余分。 >I'm "game goods" collector. aが抜けてる。i'm aとしないといけない。 >I wanted to add this goods to my collection and bought it. goodsは複数扱いだからthisじゃなくてthese。 この場合は普通にsoftware(s)でいいと思う。 >In addition, I have the tool to play the USA SNES. >I'm looking forward to its arrival.
I disagree with the opinion.Certainly, most of high scool students don't like to study English for university entrance exams. But even if there weren't to be English exams for entrance to university, they would not like to study English and English capasity of them would not rise. The reason for decreasing capasity of English in Japan is not so much being the exams as lack of conciousness that each of us is a part of an international community.

There are several reasons why Japan has the lowest rates of all the countries in the world. The first reason is that the changes of people's way of thinking marriage. The second reason is that the increase of women workers. Now, more women don't regard marrige as their goals. So, they don't get marry when they are still young. They don't want to lose their jobs because they get marry and have children. If there are government's enought supports, more women get marry and give birth their children. In some industrialized countries, there are such tendency of not having children. Japan, without government's supports for working women, will continue to have the lowest birth rates of all the countries in th world.
In my opinion, it is wonderful to go on a school trip abroad. You may say it is too expensive and spending a large amount of money to allow kids a vacation abroad is just too generous an idea. However, it has many experience which can't change for money. Take an example. I have gone on a school trip abroad to Itary when I was a high school student. I went to Roma, and where I was moved to see a lot of ancient monument which is corocceo, and so on. These traditonal values convinced me that it isn't failure that I came to here. besides, I came to there with my friends, and so I could provide my friends with profound pleasure. it is precious memory that also can't change for money, and therefore it is obvious that high school students should go on a school trip abroad.
My summer vacation was not special. But they were pleasant.
In early summer, I went to the training room of Waseda university and the pool of the sinjyuku cosmic center almost every day to strength muscles. Thanks to the effort, I succeeded in losing some weight. But now my weight is returning. I must strength them again.
On 15 August, I visited Yasukuni temple with my friends. We praye d our ancestors. After that, we ate and drunk until night. Contrary to expectation, there were many Whites. I couldn't understand why Whites come to Yasukuni temple at the anniversary of the end of World war second. They don't know nothing about Japan's history?
The main place I went to in boring time was the local library. I read many books which I had always wanted to do and studied math. I got more knowledge. Perhaps this was the most pleasant time.
Now, I study Russian in the university. Not just for it, I want to travel Russia in the next summer.I have Russian-speaking friend. I am going to persuade him to do with me.

The world has become a small place. This is what we feel everyday. What makes us feel that?
One reason is that transport has developed greatly. About one hundred years ago we spend tremendously much time in visiting foreign places. For example, it took Japanese some months to get to Europe, because the transport available was only ship or horse. But, now we are able to get to Europe in about ten hours by airplane. This means that temporal distance has become much shorter.
And metropolises in the world, such as Tokyo, New York, London and so on, are flooded with many people of various nationalities and races. Anyone meet various people irresistibly. I think this is also the important factor of feeling that.
In addition, thanks to the development of communication, we can talk with acquaintances and friends in foreign country through international call or can get foreign information quickly or send e-mail, through internet.
Like this, all kinds of men and things are connected with each other at present. This phenomenon is greater and greater day by day. And it will last from now on.
I want to study about the mechanism of the computer and to improve this if I pass the entrance examination. I think that the computer is a fruit of human history. Today society would not work well if it were not for this. I want to become a leader in this field and to devote my life to studying of this vital thing and to make society more comfortable. I suppose ,for example, that it would be so convenient for us to come to be able to forecast an accurate weather for the next month although now it is difficult to forecast perfectly a weather for the next day. It makes me excited to think of doing the things which no one has done. I eager to create the future by my own efforts.
In junior college class, I can't communicate with students well. Though I try to make efforts to explain well by avoiding difficult words, I'm not having any other idea now.
>>582 こんなんでどうよ? One thing I would like to do in particular is to study computer technology, and hopefully, contribute to make progress in the field, if, only, I could pass the entrance exam. Computer technology is, in my opinion, a fruit of human civilization. Modern society is actually completely dependent on the computer systems and the networks. My dream is to be a leading engineer in the field devoting myself into the study on this vital field, so that the future society would be more confortable and convenient. For instance, further progress is needed to improve the accuracy of weather forcast where the weather one day later is still one thing difficult to predict precisely by the conventional computer system. I get interested in those issues which no one has ever fulfilled. My dream is to create something new by my own efforts.
>>588 こんなんでどうよ? I actually have difficulty in communication with other students in my college class nowadays. I've tried almost every way to explain things simply and easily avoiding big words, but failed as many times.
My treasure is earplug. This is necessary for me now,
Because going to school takes me about three hours, it is very important how I spend that time. So I started to use earplug. And my life in train has been very comfortable ever since. For example, sometimes I am all tired and want to have a nap. In that time, earplug helps me to sleep soundly. It makes the noises hardly perceptible.
I don’t always sleep in train. I usually read books not to waste three hours. And earplug is very helpful again then. It enables me to concentrate my attention on what I read.
If you don’t read books and sleep, putting on earplug is still effective. When you are exposed to the noises, it is said that you waste so much energy because you unconsciously try to distinguish among them. Being in the noises itself exhaust you. In that meaning, earplug contributes to your health greatly. Your body comes not to spend energy wastefully.
The earplug I am using now is seventy-yen and very economical. I managed to barely find it. An ordinary earplug sold in drugstore is much more expensive. So I am attached to it.
Like this, earplug plays a vital role in my life. I can’t exist without earplug. I want to make the most of earplug from now on. Though there wasn’t touching story, that’s all. Thank you.

I think that High school education should be more practical. Of course, "practical" itself is not good. It is never nice that students are taught the way to cook a dinner or drive. But, consider a current situation of High school in Japan. For example, most of the student are unable to write and speak English, although they have been educated for sex years. Some doesn't agree with me, saying that students study English to enter a university. Yet, they should study English in more practical way, because more half of students doesn't go to a university. Also, more practical education should be done in Jpanese. Students should be taught the way to write a essay. It is very shameful that student can't do after experiencin
I think that High school education should be more practical. Of course, ‘being practical’ itself doesn’t always mean good. It is rather too practical for students to learn how to drive or cook at High schools. However, take a good look at the current situation of High schools in Japan. Some may disagree with me saying that students are studying English to make it to universities. More than half of High school students in Japan, however, do not go to universities. For that reason, at least, they should consider studying English in more practical way. Furthermore, another practical approach may be taken in studying Japanese in High schools. High schools should teach, especially, how to construct decent compositions. It is shameful that students cannot put together decent compositions after receiving higher education.
I have not traveled since 10 years ago because I don't like traveling. If I got around an unfamiliar city, I would just feel tired. So I can feel far more relaxed in my house. When someone asks me what I do on holidays, I always answer that I stay in my house and do nothing special. Then most of them feel surprised. They seem to think that I am the type of person who get out somewhere whenever he is free.

ただひとつ確実にいえるのは、 the Korean(s) speak(ing) English better than the Japanese という表現の中で、Koeran、Japaneseに対する定冠詞theの使用は絶対に避けるべき。
あと、修飾関係を意識して「the A and the (B of C)」としたんだろうが、 andの並列関係がいびつなので、たぶん「(the A and the B) of C」と読まれるだろう。 その場合、「(the A and B) of C」の方が普通になるので、 それにふさわしい「C」を考える必要がある。 あるいは「(the A of C') and (the B of C)」というように「of C'」をつけて 並列関係をしっかりさせた方がいい。

The sea area becoming the issue involve the Liancourt Rocks. Japan calls it "Takeshima", and South Korea calls it "Tokdo". Japan and South Korea are claiming the dominion of the islands.
This is a territorial dispute described in the CIA's The World Factbook. ↑ CIA
In 1951, through the Treaty of Peace with Japan, The Liancourt Rocks were diplomatically returned to Japan. Nevertheless, South Korea do not admit it, so there is no prospect of solving the argument.
The beginning is that-- In 1952, S. Korea unilaterally set up a teritorial limits so-called "the Rishouban Line" (S. Korea call it "the Peace Line"). The S. Korea side region of the line included the sea area around the Liancourt Rocks.
Japanese fishermans did not accept the line and went fishing in the sea area. S. Korea responded it with force. Many Japanese fishing boats were captured, 3292 people were arrested and 44 were killed or injured between 1952 and 1965 when the line was abolished.
And now, S. Korea is still occupying the islands illegally. ↑
Although Japan has taken this issue to the International Court of Justice since 1954, S. Korea has not appeared in court because, they have alleged, their occupation have been legal.
This territorial dispute about the Liancourt Rocks, unlike about Northan Territories, was not a big issue in Japan. ↑
But recently, many Korean things were reported and many Japanese are interested in Korea. Simultaneously, much more Japanese are interested in the dispute.
I think the higher interest relate to the S. Korean attempt to change the sea's name from "the Japan Sea" to "the East Sea". ↑
S. Korea might think '"East Sea" as the international name' becomes one of evidences for S. Korean possession of the islands.
They might think the name of "Japan Sea" is a disadvantage to the dominion of the islands and means the entire sea area is Japanese waters.
However, Japan has never claimed the possession of "Japan Sea" or the possession of the islands based on the sea's name. ↑
When S. Korea argue the rename to "East Sea", they list "Sea of Korea" and "Oriental Sea" etc. as examples of using "East Sea". They might show these example as evidences that S.Korea has the right to name the sea area.
When much younger than I am now, on holiday with my gran'ma and my father, we visited a house of my cousin in London, the capital of United States as you know. Aunty ○○ and Uncle ×× welcomed and treated us nicely. And I found a pretty little thing behind them. He looked in hiding as like as he wanted to let us know he was such a shy boy. He's name is △▼△, one of my younger cousin. I stayed for 15days in London. Sometimes all of us went around London Shopping Mall to get some souvenirs for relatives in Japan. It was first time for me to try a talk in English with native Shop Assistants. I had very enjoyed the great experience those days in the overseas country. I think this incident could cause my interesting in talking with foreigners because it is my oldest memory of in touch with the different language.
>>702 we visited my cousin in London, the capital of England as you know,

our relatives It was the first time for me to talk to a native shop assistant in English.
I greatly enjoyed my stay in the foreign country back then. I think this experience must be how I started to have interest in talking with foreigners because it is my first memory of being exposed to a diffrent language.
>>704 「as you know」にはカンマがいる。 「back then」は不適。 「experience must be how」はおかしい。
>>708 細かいことだが、 wayは「way of doing」より、「way to do」の方が普通。 ただし、「doing」が名詞化している場合は「way of doing」 例:way of thinking 「他人」と「私」の対比だから、「sightseeing」と「eat」は同じ語形にする。

It wasn't cheap, but it was very good.
The most serious distress for the men who can't move their hands involves satisfying sexual desire, self-ejaculation, or so-called masturbation. Masturbation itself is not what we must do without fail. We can do without it and it is not particularly a life-and-death thing. However, it is important especially for men's physiology. According to the gossip medias such as weekly magazines, do some women masturbate.
An appearance of computer has made amount of processing of information greatly large and progress in technology rapidly early. but,on the other hand, it is truly facts that things in human life such as thoughts and conversation is being reduced by it.
「... But it is true...」ではなく「it is true... But...」 「But it is true...」
>>723 追加の質問なんですが >An appearance of computer has made amount of processing of information greatly large and progress in technology rapidly early.
I enjoy crime stories but I don't want to commit a crime myself.
例文:ロイヤル [1] 連結を示す等位接続詞 ○I've sent off my check and am looking forward to receiving my first parcel. (小切手を送ったので最初の荷物が着くのを楽しみにしている) ×I've sent off my check, and am looking forward to receiving my first parcel.
『The Chicago Manual of Style』 p.248. When independent clauses are joined by and, but, or, so, yet, or any other conjunction, a comma usually precedes the conjunction. If the clauses are very short and closely connected, the comma may be omitted.
some time after SV
「have a completely different impression」などの方がはっきりする。
>従属節内に従属節を入れるのはあまり薦められないので すると分詞構文で Watching a movie again some time after you first saw it・・・ ではどうでしょう? 。。
>すると分詞構文で >Watching a movie again some time after you first saw it・・・ >ではどうでしょう?
When you watch a movie again after a while, 場合によっては、「a movie that you watched before」など関係詞を使うという手もある。
No problem. I hope everything is all right with you now.
Just because she happens to be a woman it doesn't necessarily follow that she is a bad driver, ,but generally speaking woman drivers have a bad reputation.
>>745 Women drivers are not always inferior in skill.
a driver happens to be a woman とした場合、動詞以前の主語にa+名詞が置かれているのが気になります。 (drivers happen to be women とすべき?)
副詞howeverで Generally speaking, however, woman drivers have a bad reputation.
A book is on the desk. There is a book on the deskなる楔を打ち込むような構文が出来上がったと 聞いたことがあるのですが・・・
>>750 There is 構文の由来は知らないし、 >総称のaは主語で使えるがそれ以外は使わないのが良い >という話を聞いたことがあるので少し噛み付いてしまって申し訳ないのですが・・・。 とういのも聞いたこがないので、ソースがわかれば教えてほしい。 総称のaではないaで始まる英文はいくらでもあるし。 A knocking at the door was heard. (安藤『現代英文法講義』 p.465) A bomb destroyed the U.S. embassy in Nairobi. (『Forest』 p.462)

Have you ever purchased food from the convenience store and used the disposable wooden chopsticks provided with it? Almost everyone will answer "yes" to this question. We accept these wooden chopsticks automatically, without a single thought. We eat, and then we throw them away with the same ease. Have you ever stopped to think about the wastefulness of your actions? Do you ever consider the damage to the environment you are causing? Well today I'd like to open your eyes to what you are doing.
I wonder if there is anyone alive in Japan today who has never used disposable wooden chopsticks. That is how much these chopsticks have become a part of our everyday life. But, I wonder how many people know where these chopsticks come from or in fact how many we use. Well did you know that in Japan we use 25 billion pairs of chopsticks every year, and that nowadays about 90% of them are imported from China? The raw material for making these chopsticks comes from trees such as cedar, bamboo, cypress, and pine. Trees growing in natural forests are used and cut down just to make our chopsticks.
25 billion pairs worth of disposable wooden chopsticks are taken from natural forests every year. This is an awful lot of destruction. Further more most of the wood is harvested using the Kaibatsu Method. The Kaibatsu method involves completely deforesting an entire area of forest of all of the wood. However by using the Kaibatsu method, not only the trees are destroyed. By clearing a whole area of forest of trees, the topsoil and all other plant and animal species living in the area are disrupted as well. However in the short term, this is a very cheap and quick way of getting wood and that is why it is used.
There is another method of harvesting wood though, and this is the Takubatsu method. Using the Takubatsu method forests are managed properly and are able to maintain a constant supply of wood that is sustainable and long lasting. With the Takubatsu method only trees that have reached a certain age are cut down so the forest survives in a constant state with trees always growing to replace those that have been cut down.
Nowadays there is a global problem of deforestation. Large areas of forest are destroyed every day for commercial use. These forests are not replaceable. Once they have been cleared, it takes 100's of years for them to grow back. Therefore using the Kaibatsu method is very bad for the environment, and in the long term it is also very bad for business. Once the trees have gone, there can be no more business.
We are not in the forestry industry. We do not cut down trees. However we are responsible for the destruction. By using disposable wooden chopsticks we are contributing to the rapid deforestation of the world. So I ask you, please do not use these chopsticks. If you take convenience food home make sure you refuse the chopsticks and use the ones you have at home. I also recommend that if you can, you carry a pair of chopsticks around with you. After all they are very small and can be easily carried in your bag or pocket. Then you will never need to throw away valuable wood after your meal, and can help to save our forests.
An introspective way of linguistic data collection Linguists, more specifically grammarian of their native language, often collect data through their own introspection, instantly and for free. This is very surprising for scientists of other fields, because scientists in general have to make every effort to collect data. For example, astronomers build very costly astronomical observatories to watch astronomical bodies. In fact, this easy way of linguistic data collection is sometimes criticized by those who collect their linguistic data by corpus retrieval or fieldwork, for they doubt the naturalness of data. When criticized, the linguists usually cannot argue against this criticism. This may be partly because the linguists who use introspective data feel inferior to those who gather their data with much effort. But this way is so powerful that well-trained linguists can think of ungrammatical data, which cannot be obtained by other means and are definitive evidence so as to constrain possible models of grammar.

Hello. I am one of the Japanese fans of your product, “The Elder Scrolls IV OBLIVION”. Although, as you know, its Japanese version has not yet released, we have been very fascinated by TES4 and are wondering if you would not have a plan to release the Japanese version.
In Japan, we have been working to get the support for requesting Japanese localization of TES4, and have got more than 300 approvals since July 26th. The number is quite high, considering not so many people might have had a chance to hear about TES4.
We believe that if you release the Japanese version of TES4 and let people know its existence, it will sell tremendously. We would like to see a lot of Japanese people are playing your game and enthusiastically hope you would kindly realize our dream.

And Japan won't be "big japan".
Japan will be having a total of about one hundred twenty eight million people. But after its peak, the number is expected to be decreasing. The number of Japanese will be about one hundred million in fifty years. To sustain the current level of economy and social infrastructure that has become enormous already, we must accept about thirty million newcomers from abroad (each year). Only accepting talented immigrants would keep Japan a rich country. Otherwise, our nation will become poor.
