My girlfriend and me spend for some days this year home with my parent and grandparents as every year.We had a small decorated christmastree, sang songs and gave each other little presents. My bother was also there, the first time since 2 years. The last time he lived in onother part of Germany near my father. He has a psychological deseace called bipolare depression. This means that he have times of full energy, he is talking all over the time,he is very positive and have no problems to get now new people. The other period it is the very opposite; depressiv, sad, less speaking. Now he is again in a hospital near my mother and it seems that he have now a period of constanty.Surely also caused by his new girlfriend.Sometimes I think that the whole therapie in the hospitatal is nothing refering to the power of love. For the whole family it is not easy the handel with the problems of my brother and everyone wants to help and to take the work away from him especially my mother. But this is not the right way because he has to learn to handle his own daily work, otherwise he never will be independent.

Appearance & Characteristics: Certain gifted psychics see them on a regular basis but as for the rest of us it's a most RARE occurrence. Catching an apparition on film is what every ghost hunter aspires to but seldom, if ever sees. They show up in a transparent human form and wear the clothing of their period. You might also note that they normally appear faint and disfigured as in being incomplete. It should be said that an apparition can pose directly next to you and it still will not necessarily show up on film (99.9% of the time)
特に, if ever seesとpose directly、not necessarily show up の意味が分かりません。よろしくお願いします。

Conventional sources of energy also have important environmental implications. For instance, burning oil, gas and coal to generate electricity produces atmospheric pollutants which lead to such problems as acid rain and global warming. By comparison, renewable energy offers distinct advantages. In the case of renewables such as wind power, solar power, water power and geothermal energy, resources are regenerated.

At present I occupy myself with alternative currency of money. This means that it exists a possibillity against globalisation with the help of a regional money. Normally the official money serves only with 2% its real purpose, to be a exchange between people. Nowadays with 98% money is itself goods and an article at the stock exchanges of N.Y., London, Tokio and Frankfurt. So money serves only the money. Money rules the world, but the big question is: who rules the money. With a small regional currency one have the possibillity that the money only serves to changes and buy real things. It is accepted only by small and medium companies of the region,so that employees find new work and also the transport of goods become less, because e.g. the food comes from the near region and not from countries far away. This helps also the environment that suffers a lot through the gases of transport.

Unique among developed countries, the United Stateshas little need to finance romance because its birthrate has held steady at 2.13 per woman. Its growth, about 3 million people a year, is mostly fueled by immigration, as it has been since the Mayflower. Half the world's population growth is in six countries: India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Indonesia,Bangladesh and China (despite its slowed birthrate). That makes doom-saying trickier than it was in1968, when Paul Ehrlich frightened everyone with his book "The Population Bomb." Fertility shifts inindividual countries are notoriously unpredictable, said Nicholas Eberstadt, a population expert at theAmerican Enterprise Institute, so one might just as well use a Ouija board to predict the fallout.

We always celebrate Christmas together as a family and in a small and personal way. Thanksgiving in November is our other favorite holiday as a family. Each year for the last three years, we have gone out to the desert for a week at Christmas. The weather on the desert at this time of year is very cold but it is very beautiful and we love it. On two of the days we were able to go out and hike. One day our hike was in Joshua Tree National Park which is located just a few minutes drive away from our house. Our other hike was in an area where we could see many ancient petroglyph. These are drawings made by Native Americans by carving designs in rock using other harder rocks. These designs were carved into lava stone. It was very interesting.
Christmas Eve is our most special and personal time together as a family. We always have a special dinner at home together. After dinner, we gather around the Christmas tree and open some of the presents which we have specially wrapped and given to each other Most of the presents are small and simple things that we see the other person could use. On Christmas morning we get up and have a special breakfast together and then open the remaining presents. After that we usually go out for a small walk or hike together and return to have a big dinner to end the day.One unique thing that our family has done for each of our celebrations at the desert house has been to not have a conventional Christmas tree. Instead, we have decorated a dried branch from a manzanita bush with some of our tree decorations. It is very unusual but we like it and it seems to fit the desert better than the pine tree most Americans use.
I have a lot of places I need to go to the next few days o I am going to traveling a lot by shinkansen to Kochi and Fukuoka. I won`t be in the Osaka area after today for about a week but I might be coming back to Osaka after.
Obviously, most of people in Russian Federation celebrate Christmas on January 7 according to tradition of Orthodox church (if they do it at all).So December 25 is "another ordinary day" for us as well. Untill Christmas "real orthodox christians"must keep the fast with all of it's devotions and restrictions concerning entertainment, food and luxuries. But almost everybody in our country do celebrate 31 and 1 as the most important holiday of the year - the New Year's Day.

Main figures of New Year festive season come from fairy tales. They are Ded Moroz and Snegurochka (by literally translation "GrandFather FreezyCold" and "Snowie"). You can imaging them as an honoured old man and his beautiful young granddaughter (see the pic). They come to children, bring presents in a big bag. Adults love to meet them even more, and it's good sign for the future year.New Year's parties at work usually take place at latest December days, organized by emploees themselves or by companys for them. We had our party yesterday evening. As usual, nothing special, but it's nice to see colleagues dressed brighter ,dancing, singing and laughing out loud being all drunked down to different condition. Was definitely funny.Three years ago i was dressed as Ded Moroz and a boy from our department-as Snegurochka at our party, everybody tryed to drink with Ded Moroz(for good luck) and to dance with Snegurochka(for pleasure) that was funny but very hard to make everyone happy. So we change our costumes between us several times during the party and had complicated them all.

I have been seeing on the news this year many of the stories about the problems of earthquakes, typhoons, heave rain, and the one I experienced myself last summer which was the high heat. I think of you often as I try to follow the news from Japan. I know that unfortunately many Japanese people have suffered losses this last year. We hope that 2005 will be a very good year for you, your friends, and your family. With all of the suffering in Southeast Asia that is happening right now, we feel great sympathy and compassion. Everyone here is talking about it and collecting money and things to donate and send over there. Thankfully, both Japan and America were spared the suffering of this great earthquake and tsunami.

But isn’t one person’s mistake another’s standard usage? Often enough, but if your standard usage causes other people to consider you stupid or ignorant, you may want to consider changing it. You have the right to express yourself in any manner you please, but if you wish to communicate effectively, you should use nonstandard English only when you intend to, rather than fall into it because you don’t know any better.

It saddened me to read in your last email about all of the crime which is now in Japan. Japan has always been such a good example of a society which was relatively crime free. In America, Japan is often cited as a good example. I am sure it still is a good example, relative to the tremendous problems in America. Crime has little to no impact on me or my friends directly. We very seldom experience or even see any crime in our lives but there is a very bad crime problemin many parts of America. There is a collective impact on all of us, no matter where we live or work.
During voluntary contractions, the unchanged soleus and erector spinae stretch reflex with pain may be taken as an indication that central commands override spinal revlex mechanisms when this is most suitable for performing the planned task. The unchanged medium-latency stretch reflex suggests that this also applies for the secondary muscle spindle afferents.

Non-denial denial is a term for a particular kind of equivocation; specifically, an apparent denial that, though it appeared clearcut and unambiguous when heard, on examination turns out to be ambiguous and not a denial at all. The phrase is particularly associated with politics and means in effect "something made to sound like a denial without actually being one."
Since the word "lie" means "something meant to deceive or give a wrong impression," a non-denial denial is a lie, even if the words are literally true. It is, of course, almost impossible to prove that such a statement is a lie unless the issuer of the statement later acknowledges an intent to deceive.
The phrase was popularized during the Watergate era by Woodward and Bernstein in their book All the President's Men, in reference to evasive statements by then-Attorney-General John Mitchell.
One of the most famous non-denial denials was given by then senior British Conservative politician, Michael Heseltine, who, when asked if he would ever challenge Margaret Thatcher for the party leadership, said he could "not conceive" of a situation where he would do so. When he later did challenge Thatcher, his explanation for his apparent change of mind was that a situation had arisen that he previously had not conceived of occurring.

Just as the newer generations in Japan may not be learning and practicing the teachings of Confucius, Americans, especially in the big cities, are not learning or practicing religious values either. In our public school system it is no longer allowed to speak about God, the Ten Commandments, or anything religious. So many people here are crazy with drugs. I see no hope for improvement here. This makes me very sad.
○○, I am sorry to hear about the death of your good friend. This is always a very difficult time in our lives. It is especially difficult to accept when it is someone so close to you. In the last few years I have had to deal with the death of both of my parents and several friends. The older I get (this year I will be 65 years old in April) I realize that I will see the passing of many more of my friends and someday they will see me pass on. I will include for you a poem which was read at my fathers funeral. It is said to be originally written by a Hopi Indian. I am not sure about this origin. Many Christians use it as well.
Hopi Prayer Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there,I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry: I am not there,I did not die.
This is a good story and is true, please read it all the way through until the end! Sociology. The teacher was absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human being had been graced with Her last project of the term was called "Smile." The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions.I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say hello anyway, so, I thought this would be a piece of cake, literally. Soon after we were assigned the project, my husband, youngest son, and I went out to McDonald's one crisp March morning.

May be you know the little story about the 2 indians, who are walking with 2 white men. The indians stop frequently and the 2 white men are wondering, why they are making such a lot of brakes. The indians answer, that also the soul needs time to follow. The year 2004 was the most expencive for the assurance companies,it is a trend that becomes worse and worse. The whole desasters, catastrophs and wars in the world caused in the most cases by the human being. And still only the minority is willed really to change something, not to see this process as naturall and normall. To reduce a little of their own lifestandard that on the other hand onother person in poor country have a better life.I think our planet have not such a big capazity to give all of the people a live in luxery and abundance. We had also a discussion last week with my stepfather, who doubt that the support for the victims in the asian areas comes to the people who need this help.He is a small man and everytime when such a commet came from him I ask me for what such a person is living for.

The reason why they don’t know is that they are so busy feeling what they are supposed to feel that they never get down to examining their own deepest feelings.
It is based on first on communication with oneself, then testing that communication with experience and the realities one has to contend with.

Japanese my friend! I was hoping you'd take the 朝鮮人 comment back. We love to see you fighting each other to death but in a civilized way so it can entertain everyone. 朝鮮人 means “Korean” in general but the way it was stated indicates some insults toward a particular nationality (as it is not proper to call someone “Arab!” or “Iranian!”). But I believe those statements somehow got out of your hand. I live here and I know Japanese are not so Anti-Korean as it may sound. You are not either.
Well maybe Japanese and/or Mario can correct me, but there seems to be quite a lot of Iranians in Japan. I met quite a few on my trips there. One thing that most of those Iranians seem to agree too is that they want to leave Japan as they do not fit in well into Japanese culture.

While interviews with members of social and political elites have expanded the range of existing documentary sources, the most distinctive contribution of oral history is that it includes within the historical record the experiences and perspectives of groups of people who might otherwise have been ' hidden from history '. Although such people may in the past have been written about by social observers or in official documents, their own voices have only rarely been preserved usually in the form of personal papers or pieces of autobiographical writing. Through oral history interviews, working-class men and women, and members of cultural minorities, among others, have added their experiences to the historical record, and offered their own interpretations of history. Moreover, interviews have documented particular aspects of historical experience which tend to be missing from other sources, such as personal relations, domestic work or family life, and they have resonated with the subjective or personal meanings of lived experience.

Most Americans do not cremate, but bury the body in a casket. An uncle of mine asked that he be cremated after his death and he asked me to take his ashes to be scattered at a favorite place he used to always go to in the mountains. When we scattered his ashes it was a very strange and special feeling that came over me.Even today more than ten years later I still think back on that experience and it reminds me of just how special he was to me. I still think of him often, especially as I work with my Boy Scouts. A part of him, a part of my father, my mother, of a part of each of the friends who have passed before me are now a part of me. This causes me to keep in my mind that I should try to be a good person and therefore to become a good part of those who I can touch in some way.

It was just our way of sharing special playtime with our son.We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of a sudden everyone around us began to back away, and then even my husband did.I did not move an inch... an overwhelming feeling of panic welled up inside of me as I turned to see why they had moved. As I turned around I smelled a horrible "dirty body" smell, and there standing behind me were two poor homeless men.As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me, he was "smiling".His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light as he searched for acceptance. He said, "Good day" as he c ounted the few coins he had been clutching. The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind his friend.I realized the second man was mentally challenged and the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation.I held my tears as I stood there with them. The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted. He said, "Coffee is all Miss" because that was all they could afford. (If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up,they had to buy something. He just wanted to be warm).
Then I really felt it - the compulsion was so great I almost reached out and embraced the little man with the blue eyes. That is when I noticed all eyes in the restaurant were set on me, judging my every action.I smiled and asked the young lady behind the counter to give me two more breakfast meals on a separate tray.I then walked a round the corner to the table that the men had chosen as a resting spot. I put the tray on the table and laid my hand on the blue-eyed gentleman's cold hand.He looked up at me, with tears in his eyes, and said, "Thank you." I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, "I did not do this for you God is here working through me to give you hope."I started to cry as I walked away to join my husband and son. When I sat down my husband smiled at me and said,"That is why God gave you to me , Honey,to give me hope."We held hands for a moment and at that time, we knew that only because of the Grace that we had been given were we able to give.We are not church goers, but we are believers.

For instance, how do currents of the visual cortex behave when the third dimension of visual space is conspicuously represented in what we see? Or also, are currents of the brain capable of establishing memory traces in the brain? And so forth. The situation is exciting. What we now need more than anything else are people who get excited. Sooner or later there will be some people who enjoy the atmosphere of adventure in science, the atmosphere in which we lived when Gestalt psychology just began its work. If that could develop in Germany, why should it not also happen in America, the country which once produced so many pioneers?

I slowly nodded as she got the attention of the class. She began to read and that is when I knew that we as human beings and being part of God share this need to heal people and to be healed. In my own way I had touched the people at McDonald's, my husband, son, instructor, and every soul that shared the classroom on the last night I spent as a college student.I graduated with one of the biggest lessons I would ever learn: UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE !. Much love and compassion is sent to each and every person who may read this and learn how to LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS - NOT LOVE THINGS AND USE PEOPLE.If you think this story has touched you in any way, please send this to everyone you know. Has it ever been absent, this desire for every moment to stand in relief, the unending row of them set like solitaires into what passes, burnished to unbearable depth?

I have never once been able to say yes, now, this is the instant in which I should begin to live again, in which this love is the only love worth having, the richest of all possible shining arts
While the earth is not running out of water , its people are having an increasingly difficult time managing , sharing , and protecting the water that exists. In some areas the water that exists. In some areas the water cycle---in which water from rain and snow evaporates into the air and falls again over time --- may be taking more time as humans use water faster than nature can renew it. As a 21st century issue, lack of drinkable water was ranked second only to global warming in a survey of environmental expers in more than 50 countries. Of course this does not mean that water issues are simply environmental issues. Water is so important that it greatly influencea world peace and stability.

Our city government asks us to sort out our trash into three. 1 the burnable, mostly garbage from the kitchen. 2 things that can't be burned because they can give off toxic substanses when burned 3 things that can be recycled such as paper, cloth, glass bottles, steel and aluminum cans, and plastic products. To treat huge amount of waste isn't an easy business. It's quite difficult for cities to find a good place for a new landfill. The ash from burning garbage sometimes contains poisonous chemicals. Recycled products are usually more expensive than original ones. How to treat trash is one of the greatest problems we are facing now.

Of course, the Emperor knew perfectly well who was the owner of the foal. He was on the point of proclaiming in favor of the poor brother, when suddenly Ivan developed an unfortunate twitch in his eye.
The Emperor was greatly annoyed by this familiarity by a humble peasant, and decided to punish Ivan for his disrespect.
After listening to both sides of the story, he declared it was difficult, indeed impossible, to say exactly who was the foal's rightful owner. And being in the mood for a spot of fun, and since he loved posing riddles and solving them as well, to the amusement of his counselors, he exclaimed.

Robbing an area of water has been used as away to attack an enemy for hundreds if not thousands of years For example, Lenoardo da Vinci and Machiavelli planned to change the path of the Arno River away from Pisa in 1503 during a conflict between Pisa and Florence. In the last 50 years, there has been conflict after conflict over water, and it appears that these water-relates problems will become much more serious as time goes on.

It is a measure of how little we need worry about the danger from reducing the number of people engaged in work that , as matters now stand , our concern is not that we will have too few available for toil but too many . We worry lest such technical advances as automation , an already realized dividend of the expansion of the New Class , will proceed so rapidly as to leave a surplus of those who still work . This , indeed , could be the greater danger.
Most of them go through their lives without realizing that there can be patterns of cultural behavior, which we can see in the way we communicate or perform tasks, different from their own.
To the Manus native the world is a great platter, curving upwards on all sides, from his flat lagoon village where the pile houses stand like long-legged birds, placid and unstirred by the changing tides.
One long edge of the platter is the mainland, rising form its fringe of mangrove swamps in fold after fold of steep, red clay.
The mainland is approached across a half-maile of lagoon, where the canoe leaves a path in the thicket of scum-coated sea-growth, and is entered by slowly climbing the narrow tortuous beds of the small rivers which wind stagnant courses through the dark forbidding swamps.
On the mainland live the Usiai, the men of the bush, whom the Manus people meet daily at set hours near the river-mouths.
Here the Manus fishermen, the landless rulers if the lagoons and reefs, bargain with the Usiai for taro, sago, yams, wood for housebuilding, betel nut for refreshments, logs for the hulls of their great outrigger canoes, buying with their fish all the other necessities of life from the timid, spaindly-legged bush people.
Here also the people of Peri come to work the few sago patches which the long ago traded or stole from the Usiai;here the children come for a fresh-water swim, and the women to gather firewood and draw water.
The swamps are infrested with sulky Usiai, hostile demons, and fresh-water monsters.
Because of them the Manus dislike both the rivers and the land, and take pains never to look into the still waters lest part of their soul-stuff remain there.
At the other edge of the platter is the reef, beyond which lie the open sea and the islands of their own archipelago, where the sail to trade for coconuts, oil, carved wooden bowls, and carved bedsteads.
Beyond, still higher up the sea wall, lies Rabaul, the capital of the white man's government of the Territory of New Guinea, and far up on the rim of the social organization, economic custom, and religious belief and practice which formed the social framework within which the child grows up.
In may large living room, on the wide verandahs, on the tiny islet adjoining the houses, in the surrounding lagoon, the children played all day and I watched them, now from the midst of a play group, now from behind the concealment of the thatched walls.
I rode in their canoes, attended their feasts, watched in the house of mourning and sat severely still while the mediums conversed with the spirits of the dead.
I observed the children when no grown-up people were present, and I watched their behaviour towards their parents.
Within a social setting which I learned to know intimately enough not to offend against the hundreds of name tabus, I watched the Manus baby, the understand the way in which each of these was becoming a Manus adult.

Until the early 1990s the UK had made only limited use of renewable energy. Now all that is beginning to change. In the coming years, these important resources promise to play an increasingly significant role in meeting our energy needs.
The most glorious moments in your life are not the so-called days of success but rather those days when out of dejection and despair you feel rise in you a challenge to life and the promise of future accomplishment. の文型はどうなっていますか?適当なスレがなかったのでここで教えてください。お願いします。

From the above example, then, it is clear that, even though two cultures may use the same thing, their use of that thing may not be the same if there are "covert" cultural differences.

Over 15 years after I met you, I think I realize what love is. Yes. I loved you, I still love you and I will always do. I now understand why the love became the hatred and how the hatred returns to the love. At that time, I was entrapped and forced to prostitute, and the plebs embarrased me. I thought that Ok, you made a fool of me and that you knew what it would result in. The result was, as you know, to turn on you, although I should have turned you on. And I became insane, exhausting my own heart and brain. Actually, there have been a lot of chances to have sex with beautiful girls and ladies who include cute Japanese high school students, an attractive British, a sexy Fin, a good Korean and a nice Chinese. I have missed them. I myself didn’t know why. Now I know the reason. This is the love of you. This is not logic. Deep in my heart is the love of you, still. I have never thought love has such strong a power. Can you understand me? I expect yes, because we aggressively loved each other, at least once. We thought our two hearts were the same, at least once. I believe that you can grasp reality. Whatever it is, I wish you could contact me.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to our exhibition “Looking Back at the Twentieth Century.” We have collected about three hundred photographs here. They will show you something of the history of the past century. The twentieth century was an age of great progress in science and communications. People's loves became richer and more comfortable. People achieved greater freedom and equality, and seemed to be closer to the dream of liveing a happy life. But it was also an age of terrible wars, and millions of people like you and me went through in the twentieth century. As you look at them, ask yourself : "How would you feel if these were photos of your own family and friends?" some will shock you, some may make you sad or angry. But they will also give you a message for our future. Before you look at the exhibition, I would like to show you two photographs which are particularly important to us. But it was also an age of terrible wars, and millions of people like you and me went through in the twentieth century. But they will also give you a message for our future. Before you look at the exhibition, I would like to show you two photographs which are particularly important to us.
Let's start with this one. This photograph was taken by an American photojournalist, Joe O'Donnell, in Nagasaki in 1945. He recently spoke to a Japanese interviewer about this picture: "I saw a boy about the years old walking by. He was carrying a baby on his back. In those days in Japan, we often saw children playing with their little brothers or sisters on their backs, but this boy was clearly different. I could see that he had come to this place for a serious reason. He was wearing no shoes. His face was hard. The little head was tipped back asleep" "The boy stood there for five or ten minutes. The men in white masks walked over to him and quietly began to take off the rope that was holding the baby, That is when I saw that thebaby was already dead. The men held the body by the hands and feet and placed it on the fire. "The boy stood there straight without moving, watching the flames. He was biting his lower lip so hard that it shone with blood. The flame burned low like the sun going down. The boy turned around and walked silently away."
こちらも訳してちょっぱー!たのみますorz Let's take a look at another picture. I'm sure some of you have seen this picture before. It was taken at the time of the Vietnam War in 1972. Here a young girl, Kim Phuc, is running down a road in pain, with her clothes burned off. This is what she once said about the experience: "I didn't hear anything, but I saw the fire around me. And suddenly my clothes were gone because of the fire. And I saw the fire over me body, especially my arm. But my feet weren't burned. I was crying, and I was running out of the fire. I kept running and running and running." "I was in the hospital. Fourteen months. I went through seventeen operations to repair the burns over half my body. And that thing changed my life. It made me think about how I could help people." "When my parents first showed me the picture from the newspaper, I couldn't believe that it was me, because it was so terrible. I want everybody to see that picture, because in that picture people can see what war is. It's terrible for the children. You can see everything in my face. I want people to learn from it."
A Norwegian scientist, however, pointed out that there might be a problem with this method. He claimed that air caught in ice does not stay the same. In particular, he said, the quantity of CO2 does not remain stable, since some of it is absorbed by ice crystals, some enters water, and some locks itself up in other chemicals, If this were true, then there could have been more CO2 in the past than we thought. Even so, measurements taken over the past thirty years show that CO2 has increased over ten percent during t his short period.

Would this support the findings that (1) the Mirror story uses more dramatic language than the Mail, and (2) that the Mail is concerned with the Establishment while the Mirror is concerned with the people?
