The history of development in technology shows that most of its progresses
have been achieved by the endeavors of those who dreamed of scientific discoveries and
were fascinated with the beauty of science without considering their profits.
And many of the great discoveries often resulted from extremely simple questions.
To be successful in solving these questions , however, you have to acquire basic knowledge
and scientific skills to convince the public.

わたしも3級ですが、fascinated withでもＯＫですね。
3級の人は添削しない方が良いと思いますが。

レベル低い人間が四苦八苦して英作文してみた。
I made three New Year's Resolutions.
First, quitting my drinking.
I was drinking every day last year.
I hope I don't drink two days a week.
Second, losing my weight.
I hope that my weight put about two kilograms out.
I'll report the result of my effort after a year.
When we will meet next, I'll be thinner than I am.
Last, learning Chinese language.
Japanese culture based on Chinese culture.
I want to know Japanese culture deeply.
China will be second biggest country following the U.S.A.
So I guess learning Chinese may be useful.
I wish we talk in Chinese when we will meet next.

ふぅ。なんか違うなぁ。

どうして、大学や点数でそこまで熱心に
黒い心をまき散らせるのか、わからん。
どうして多少の差異で、鬼の首をとったかのように振る舞えるんだろう。
大学や点数で、その人の優秀さがきまるものでもないのに。
自分より上のひとなんか、いくらでもいるのに。
それが身に染みてわかっていれば
傲慢の寂しさが、わかるはずだろうに。

よしんば、ささやかに自尊心を満足させる
大学や点数だったとしても
それをここで自慢して、なんになるんだろう。
その自信は、自らに秘めて、別の力に変えていこうよ。

それぞれの努力と才能をかたむけて、
それぞれの目標を達成したのなら
なぜそれを卑下する。
なぜそれを罵倒する。

せっかくのスレなんだから、
がんばった人たちには、拍手をおくろうじゃないか。

優秀な諸君よ、どうか
その優秀さに見合うだけの
余裕と品格を見せて欲しい。

背が低くて、一重で、すごく日本人らしい顔だと思うわ。

日に数回倒れる状態が続いています。

「二十世紀は人間が巨人のように振舞った時代だった。人類は太古の森を切り倒し、
　大河をせき止め、空から鉄や火の雨を降らせた。二十世紀の人類は、もっと強大な
　核の力も手に入れた。」

The 20th century was the age in which human-beings behaved as if we were giants.
We cut down primeval forests, stopped the flow of large rivers, and threw down a
rain of iron and fire from the sky. Moreover, we acquired a stronger power--the power
of nuclear.

「地球と自然を力で支配できると過信した近代の文明は深い反省を迫られている。二十一世紀
　の人類に求められているのは、人間の身の丈にあうように生産と消費の仕組みや生活を考え
　直すことだとも言われる。」

Our modern civilization in which we believed too much that we could dominate the earth
and nature with our power is now requested a thorough review. It is said that it will be
neccesary for human-beings in the 21st century to rethink our system of production and
consumption, and our way of life in order to make them suitable for our capacity.

「新聞は本の広告文が一番楽しい。たった一行で多額の金がかかるのだから
一所懸命である。一行に最大の効果をあげようとうんうん唸って絞り出した
名文だ。こんなにお金のかかった文章は世の中に少ないであろう。」

When I read a newspaper,it is the most interesting for me to read a
writing advertising a book.If it is only one sentence,it cost a lot
of money.So people who try to write it are really serious.They think
very seriously about what they should write about a book so that it
attracts as many people as possible .Therefore,it is a good writing.
Few writings cost more money than this in the world.

「書物から学ぶことは口で言うほど易しいことではない。私たちはややもする
と、著者の見解に一方的にひきずられたり、先入観によって著者の意見を歪め
て読んだりする。批判的にしかも虚心に書物を読んでその中に新たな発見をし
ていく、このことが本当にできるようになればたいしたものである。」

We cannot learn something from a book as easily as it is said.Sometimes
we are too strongly influenced by writer's point of view or not able to
understand correctly what writers really want to say because of preconception.
If you are able to read abook critically,free from preconception,I will
respect you.

The most attractive sentences in a newspeper are advertisements for books.
Only a single line costs huge amount of money, so writers of the advertisements are very serious.
Every line in the advertisements is very beautiful because the writers struggled to make a line
for its highest efficiency. I think such kind of expensive writings is very few even in the world.

もし この水荒行のイベントを見に行くのなら、次の事に気を付けて下さい。
凍りつく様な寒さならば、最高です。
１、その場所は かなり駅から離れていて、解りにくい所に在るので
地図で十分に確認して下さい。目安としては、建物のすぐ側に
ＡＢＣ河川が有ります。ですから、ＡＢＣ河川に沿って歩くと
いいかもしれません。
２、写真を撮るならば水が掛かる心配が有るので、透明のビニール
