Magibon Even if it is your fan, as for the person doing contribution, it is very likely that they who are not ordinary are people concerned with religion to take advantage of weakness of a person
>>84 I'm really happy that she's coming back, but it's rude that she has to do menial work and got suspended for so long. She worked really hard for her agency. It seems a little unfair to me. T_T But, it is good news! ^_^
>>87 Most young American stars do much worse. It makes them more popular. I don't like the American celebrity scene, but I also don't think it's fair to humiliate someone who usually works hard but does one thing wrong. Maybe it's because I'm used to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, so Aibon seems like an angel to me.
>>92 That is true, and I agree. Still, isn't it a bit severe to make her answer phones and serve tea? She did a lot for the agency. Furthermore, since she was in H!P through her adolescence, is it totally unreasonable to expect them to take some responsibility for how she turned out? Even though, I still think she is an admirable person.
>>151 Kago looks very different on that magazine. I hope she will be back soon. Agents are so powerful in Japanese show business. Idols are like their employees. It's opposite in the US, right?
It's almost 12am here. It's a beautiful day. I'm going out for lunch. I don't usually have breakfast to save time and money, and to keep slim. It makes lunch delicious too!
I had instant ramen, which I shared with my little sister. I might have some fettuccine alfredo later. ^_^
>>164 Yes, it is the exact opposite here. The celebrities are the powerful ones and can fire their agents. Also, I think it's different with money, too. Japanese celebrities get a salary, right? And, it's probably nowhere near what their work earns for the agency. Here, celebrities get paid for each job they do, and the agency takes a small cut from it, usually between 10 and 20 percent. That is why western stars do Japanese commercials all the time. The Japanese companies pay a lot. So, a celebrity can make over a million dollars in a very short time. They try to hide it from the western public because we would generally look down on an actor who chooses to do commercials rather than an artistic movie or something. Although, I don't see anything wrong with it.
It is a popular American saying that, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." Doctors say that it jumpstarts the metabolism. But, from my own experience, I think that is wrong, and I agree with you. If I eat breakfast, I do nothing but eat all day, and it doesn't feel good. Somehow, food is better when I don't eat breakfast. ^_^
>>181 Strange indeed. Japan is a strange country, Magi! lol
But at least that's how we have felt closer to those Gaijin stars who speak different languages. To be honest, I believed those were aired in the US too.
>>190 It's possible. They look old, so I was maybe too young to remember or even see them. Actually, when I tool French class in high school, we watch French commercials and everyone thought they were strange. Sometimes when I am watching TV I see a commercial that Ithink we seem really strnage to a foreigner. Or, if the commercial were in a different language Americans might think it was crazy. I think I do that because of French class. ^^ So, I don't think it's just Japanese commercials. I have seen some great Japanese commercials too. ^_^b
>>194 No, you guys are normal. Some of the Japanese commercials are really stupid. They are made in that way on purpose so that people from all generations can easily remember the names of the products.
Our election campaigns go like that too. They just shout for the name from loudspeaker cars. It's so stupid.
On cable or satellite TV, we have access to American TV shows. The commercials are much more stylish there. I like them.
But, we also have some fantastic ones. My mom and I like watching commercials and laughing hard at the good ones and getting mad at the stupid ones. ^_^'
>>198 Gorgeous! She's really half French? I never would have guessed it. Actually, I think most Johnnys boys and Morning Musume girls look like they could be mixed, but they aren't. Do you think they look like normal Japanese? How about Miyazawa Rie?
>>199 Hahaha!!! Buttaches are not as common as headaches, so I don't think it will happen. Goodnight. ^_^
>>215 Huh? I don't know. O.O >>216 Maybe. I think his nose is like Alisa Durbrow's. People like Kago or YamaP, I think they look totally Japanese, but I mean pictures like what I just posted.
>>224 Well, we Americans can't tell the difference between a Japanese and a Chinese, so we really can't tell the difference between a full blood Japanese and a halfie. In fact, we learned in school that Japanese people are super experts at it, and that they can immediately tell if someone is full Japanese as well as if he grew up in Japan or not, just by looking at him. I heard the same thing in a documentary. Is it completely true?
Sorry. I have to go to bed. I already stayed up too late. Talk to you all later. ^_^/
I only scored 8 in the Exam #1 Faces. So I can't tell them just by the faces. But I could tell Japan from other two Asian countries in the other tests.
Good night, Magibon! Thank you for staying with us.
The Japanese was mixed blood a lot of races in the past. It includes Southeast Asia race, and Micronesia race, Japanese aborigine (Ainu etc.) and the north race(Mongolian and Korean) etc......
Even if you say to a elephant, "Your nose is long", the elephant is not angry. but, when the lawyer who knows elephant's language is there, It becomes a problem.
>>247 > Even if you say to a elephant, "Your nose is long", the elephant is not angry. > but, when the lawyer who knows elephant's language is there, > It becomes a problem.
>>274 Both! I used to think I wasn't that interested in the city and only wanted to see countryside. But, I changed my mind and I definitely want to see the city too. ^_^ Maybe a few cities. ^_^
Will we all members make YoutubeVideoBlog all together? Will we all members do Res to Magi? Aren't you sleepy? Do you have whereabouts? Is the place to which you are living now comfortable space for you? Which the dog or the cat do you like? Which the mountain or the sea do you like?
>>301 I didn't pay much attention to Magibon's profile. Even when I first saw the profile, I regarded it as old info, but maybe I am wrong. I was always pursuing latest info. なぜなら、スレの流れについていくだけでいっぱいいっぱいだから orz
>>320 KGKGKG, you always sound like you're living in a amine world, man. There is no reality on any of your comments what so ever. They just make me want to puke, if that's the intention of yours.
>>361 Almost never. Pennsylvania has tornadoes and heavy snow. But, not usually earthquakes. >>365 It's on TV now. I forgot. I missed a lot. When I find out if she won, I will let you know. ^_^ I think Letters from Iwo Jima was also nominated.
UPDATE: The winner for Best Supporting Actress was not Rinko Kikuchi, but Jennifer Hudson. >>371 I think there is more than one nomination for that movie. It already won for Sound Editing. ^^
In spring. A bud of a thing of a cherry tree swelled out, too. It is the time to buy it with every effort decisively. Splendid spring comes. Congratulations.
>>455 Are you foreigner, aren't you? If your ability to read Japanese is native level, you can tell the sentences What kind of person wrote it? The fellow who writes a foolish thing is mostly a child.
You are a beautifulThan Leah Dizon. Please come to the research travel in Japan when you enter a university. Whether Please do the model by the part-time job and or not? You can do it!
>>481 It's always good to hear that a Japanese becomes popular in America. Who is Japanese people popular in America other than athletes. only Ono Yoko?
>>497 One reason I want to go to a university in Hawaii is that it might be more possible for me to do the research travel to Japan. I want it terribly! Even if you say I'm pretty, I'm not tall enough to be a model, right? I'm really short, plus I have yaeba.
>>498 Of course, there is Ken Watanabe. Masi Oka from the new show Heroes is becoming one of America's sweethearts. Ninomiya Kazunari's name is slightly known because of Letters from Iwo Jima, though he's not really famous here.
>>508 Kago and Yaguchi is so popular because they are short, below 150 cm ( 4'11" ) and cute, as you know.
I don't know any Japanese guy who hates "yaeba". It was not until I heard your remark that I came to know that Westerners don't like "yaeba". I never thought of that before.
>>513 >>516 I'm glad that I might be suited to Japanese guys. >.<
Changing the subject, I was quite sick yesterday and today. I already feel much better. I really hope I will be able to sleep well tonight. I'm not feeling at all tired yet though.
>>520 We call small things cute. But, it's not really the same for short adults. A tall girl is definitely considered more beautiful. >>518 >>522 As soon as I feel tired, I want to go to bed. I have a lot of energy right now though. >>523 Really? Maybe it's because he was raised in the US?
>>527 I think it's different. Little girls are pretty, and little girls and boys are cute. Teenage and adult women are pretty. Calling a man or a woman cute is like a personal preference. Different people say "hot," "good-looking," "cute," etc. for different qualities.
This website distributed a japanese literary work free of charge which is not copyrighted because the period of copyrighting protect run out. It is very difficult for you, so you can feel sleepy. ww I recommend "Nogiku no haka" written by Sachio Ito.
>>530 I think it's up to you to decide which word to use for a girl. There's not a wrong answer. >>531 That's a lie! I'll never believe it. ^O^ >>533 I should. >>534 np >>535 失礼だ? Rude? It's not usually rude to say "cute." >>536 Thanks for the link! For now, I'm going to bed. I'll look tomorrow. ^_^
It's still pretty cold here. We got a heavy snowstorm already this year, so I'm ready for it to become warm soon. Yesterday, I looked at a picture of my backyard during the summer. I want it!
>>591 I don't know her at all. On YouTube, I mostly watch music videos and stuff like that. If she is very interested in Japan, she's probably cool. ^^
>>614 That will be fun, but I wonder if the camera can be moved outdoor. I think that it is interesting only to say the impression of the literature of Japan. Therefore, let's read even 1 page every day.
You must not fear the mistake of Japanese. The reason why you should make vlog is that everyone is looking forward to your vlog. I want to watch your English vlog. Your voice is tooooooo beautiful!!!
>>645 So, that was not an elevator. I was wondering if you were living in a seven stories house. You look a little bit different when you speak English.
おはよう、マギボン。Your new video wasn't tedious. I recommend changing some environment to avoid boredom. It would be good if you make new friends or boyfriend?
BTW, I'm thinking of chang my job for my own reason, not for my boredom. I guess it will be tough year.
>>730 That's not possible. I'm not very well known even on YouTube. ^_^ >>731 I have only seen it a few times. When I was a kid, I watched some Japanese anime without knowing it was Japanese. I watched Sailormoon and some things about magical koalas. >>733 Really? Wow. Thanks for watching! ^__^
In Japan, it sometimes takes courage to say that you want an American girlfriend because it sounds like an excuse for not having a Japanese girlfriend around you.
Some would even say that it's like you are looking for a girlfriend from anime because it is next to impossible. Of course it's totally different when you are a girl. How sad.
>>750 The other one is my little sister. She is bigger now. But she's still cuuute. >>752 >>753 I don't have any of my own right now . I'd have to borrow from my mom or sis. I want to do another video like Hat Stuff! ^_^
How many days does it take to finish that ice cream bucket? Don't you get tired of its taste? I only see them in American movies. They are not sold here.
I like eating ice cream in winter too. It's like eating curry in summer.
>>761 That's a good idea. The thought of Magibon living in Japan is wonderful, but there's one big problem. I don't want to imagine a commedian such as Wacky and Yama chan try to ask her out, if she becomes an idol.
>>761 Of course I'm too average for something like that. Still, I really really want to visit Japan! >>764 The whole family eats it, so I don't know when it will be gone. Usually... it's put into a bowl, but I didn't want that much. We have lots of flavors in the freezer, so I won't get tired of that one. ^_^ I can't believe it's not sold there. You have Mow though! It's like that, but you put it in a bowl yourself.
Even the cutest Japanese idol couldn't be a match for you, Magi. Look what's happening in Japan! Leah Dizon can be successful. Why not you? You'll diffinitely catch Japanese eyes with your cuteness.
>>768 Leah Dizon is lovely and talented. I struggle to speak clearly to a webcam. It's true. -_- I don't think that a talent agency would see potential in me. That you guys do makes my heart so full it could burst!
>>770 I've seen her pictures and I promise you that she is ten times prettier. >>771 I didn't know that! Tomorrow, I will listen to the MiniMoni Hinamatsuri song. ^__^ >>774 To sing on YouTube would be a big embarassment. There are extremely good singers on YouTube!
Magibon, have you ever heard of Aichiteru, a Japanese TV show in which many non-japanese girls appear? I did a quick search on YouTube for it, but it doesn't seem anybody has uploaded it yet.. Well, anyway, the thing is, if you appear in the show, oh, it'll be a dream come true..
>>783 The half of me want Magi to become an idol, I admit, but the other doesn't. (See >>766) And for your information, those non-Japanese girls are not idols, but talents. There's a big difference. You know that.
>>789 What made you bring up a subject like that here?
It's still anybody's guess. We don't know who will represent the democrats, do we? But I think you are right. The democrats, while they are in power, always put more pressure on Japan. All we can do is just see what'll happen, though..
>>788 I see! Those girls seem to have a lot of confidence. And, they seem tall! If I were standing in that picture, maybe only my eyes would be showing, haha. Wow. How do they smile so confidently?? >>789 It is definitely too early to tell. We don't even know who the main candidates will be for sure yet, though there are a couple big names. Without knowing all I can know, I try not to decide prematurely. Actually, in the last election, I chose to wait until after the debates to decide for sure. If you are worried, don't stress. Last time, it seemed the democrats would win for sure, but they lost at the last minute. Why do you lean towards the republicans, out of curiosity? >>790 What kind of pressure do democrats put on Japan? It seems the main issues right now in the US are the War in Iraq, global warming, and maybe gay marriage rights. Because things like what you are talking about aren't covered on our TV news shows, I now feel like it's more important for me to learn.
>>792 > Why do you lean towards the republicans Because the relationship between republican Party and Japan is pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OSR_lmdbYg It seems to me so many americans get sick tired of Iraq war. Iraq war makes republican a bad position.
>>792 >Those girls seem to have a lot of confidence Ah, yes, I think some of them really have much too confidence..haha Sometimes they bicker and rant at each other about the viewpoints of things. But the others don't.
>>798 I knew that Bush seemed to be friends with Koizumi. I didn't know that it was a matter of the Republican party. I have to learn a little more about it. Thanks. ^_^ Yes, many Americans are sick of the Iraq war. But, that doesn't mean that they will all vote for a Democrat. Both the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidate will have a plan for Iraq, so we'll see. >>799 Since that's how most American TV is, that might be all those girls know. But, I hope they can learn a little bit from being in Japan. ^_^' I love America, but do you understand what I mean? Japan and America should share philosophies and teach each other cool things. ^^ >>801 DownTown is funny! But... Leah's tension must have been high!
Seems like she's not in front of the computer now..
Let's see..
Well, global warming. Yeah, it is a big issue here in Japan as well. Not that it ever became a political matter, though. Anyway, I guess the decision the current president Bush made years ago might be considered wrong right now. America didn't ratify the kyoto protocol and without America, the proposition wouldn't help - obviously America is the biggest consumer of the world energy..... But things musta been different now thanks to Al Gore.. American people may love to go for a drive, but I wonder if public transportations in America don't help much for them.
>>807 Sometimes Japanese people torturously talk about something, I mean, they don't want to get directly to the point, because it sometimes is considered rude... I don't mean to say which is better, but it's a cultural difference which makes the world more colourful.
You have outside views on your own country and it's a good thing I believe. For some reason, I think your way of looking at things is like that of Japanse people... It sort of remind me of Good Old days. :)
It is said in Japan that Democrats focus on the domestic economy more than free trade. In other words, they beleive it's important for America to thrive economically. That's why Japanese think they would put pressure concerning the economy on Japan.
>>813 Sorry for my ignorance, but who's wiliam huang? I guess from the conversation we've had so far with Magibon, however, Japan's communities may be suitable for her... She's ovbiously the cutest thing ever, but at the same time she's reserved and shy... This is, well, what should I say? - more like Japanese. I love it the way she is.
>>817 I see what you mean. She has many aspects. She smiles, she pouts, and she's down just within the measure of a day.. But no one is allowed to see her eyes when they cry..
>>808 I think that public transportation in America probably isn't as reliable as it is in other countries. You know, I think I heard that Japan's public transportation is the most efficient in the world. Americans worry about getting to work on time. But, Americans also like driving because cars are even more worshipped here than in most other places, and people also like to drive fast. Plus, it's possible to improve efficiency, right? Once again, I think it's an area we Americans could open ourselves up to learning more about. >>810 I think it's possible to say what one thinks without being rude. It makes me sad to watch programs on American TV where all the people are being mean to each other. They want to make the other people look foolish because they feel it will strengthen their side. But, I personally loose respect for those people's arguments. And, it seems like if they don't let the opposing side finish a sentence, maybe they know that they can be proven wrong. That's why I think we should calm down a little and listen to each other.
But, if people understand what you want to say even if you "beat around the bush" (don't say it clearly), then it's probably better to say it simply. It shows more confidence in what one believes in, I think.
I guess that's what's important to me -- people saying what they believe in and supporting each other in doing the same thing. Like, wouldn't it be best for all of us if we used our different ways of thinking to our advantage? I'm embarassed to be talking like this. But, I know what it's like to feel like saying "Our way is better!" No one wants to feel weak ever. But, when I say "Their way is better," I somehow feel empowered, and that's really true. I think it's a feeling of all being human rather than opposing groups. >>811 Interesting. I suppose both things are important, right? Politics is so complicated. >>812 It's fine either way, but I'm not good at discussing politics. ^_^
>>820 I see.. Don't feel embarassed to express your opinions. You're right. It's more productive to hear other people's opinions and make good use of it instead of deciding which is the winner. That's exactly what I think.
Sadly, people can easily get offended online, though.
>>822 Many people might say he doesn't deserve attention. He is a singer, but is famous for being really bad at singing, and having a funny personality. He seems to not understand that he is being laughed at, but most people now believe that he's just pretending. >>823 America is different from Japan in that way. Sometimes a person is famous without having much talent, but it's usually for bad things. >>826 Racism is a problem that America has worked very hard at overcoming. There are still some problems, but even if America hasn't been making the stronges effort at some other things, we really try hard to make racism disappear.
>>827 People can easily get offended all the time. It doesn't really help when the other person is definitely being offensive though...!
>>830 I see your point. Of course, the Japanse media has strong power to advertise celeblities, but some people feel disgusted at how they act - I'm sure you understand what I want to convey.. To be a bit more explicit, those who are pushed to the spot light by the media will lose their ppopularity easily. I think the same goes for America (or any other country).
>>830 It sounds like Reality TV stars here. Why is fame so important to people? It's only good if it's useful, I think. For example, trying to spread good feelings or bring attention to good causes. >>831 There are not many black people in my small town. But, there were some people of every race in my high school and everyone was friends with everyone else as far as that went. The only areas of unacceptance were about being rich or wearing certain types of clothes. I have heard that in some schools in the southern United Sates, black kids are only friends with black kids and white kids are only friends with whites, even if the two groups don't necessarily hate each other. A few years ago, there was a controversy because some southern high schools had seperate proms for white and black students. Though, it was the students instead of the adults who made it that way. As for me, I'm not racist at all. And yes, I have black friends, though it's not something I like to say as though it's a badge or something. It's just the way the world is. We're all different and the same. ^_^
>>840 YES!As for a true artist, it is not so. Because the appeal to the mass communication is unskilled, the person who has the talent cannot really become famous.
Becoming famous is not a purpose. The art is to tell the person something emotion soul.
However, the talent who doesn't have the talent disappears from the table stage by the person nature at a moment.
You think that it likes Japanese culture in pure feelings. You do not do atmosphere that you want to become famous so much. Though the atmosphere exists completely.
Please send the document to the talent office in Japan if you hope after Japanese culture studied.
>>845 な。I believe Magibon's way of thinking is really accepted here in Japan and that she'll get popular if people see her vlogs.. All that she needs is a little confidence. By this I mean, not to be overly aggressive.
>>846 Personally, I hope she keeps vlogging even when she's busy doing lots of research on Japan, though.
Do you mean to say the copies of her CD albums sold in japan has been running lower than before because Utada Hikaru got married, and they will go up due to her divource?
>>842 d(^_^)b >>846 You mean, becoming a talent to make it more possible to study Japan? Somehow, I only thought of them as opposites before. >>847 Neither one, I think. ^_^ America doesn't hate a race, it just a couple people here and there who say bad things. >>853 It is 2:45 AM! Though it's Friday and I'm not really feeling tired, I'll definitely go to bed soon.
>>855 It seems to be busy though can say that Japan is studied after it becomes a talent. You might do the show business by the part-time job while studying Japan, and become a real talent.
Anyway, You are likely to succeed because Magibon is those who make an effort.
Please sleep for your beauty and health. Thank you for talk with us..
It's really silly to ask Magibon if she's a rasist. Who would have interest in Japan if one were so blinded as to say only America can rule the world or anything like that?
>>859 That's right. Actually, several foregine exchange students appear on j-tv shows such as ichiteru.:)
No offence, but I cannot physically tell the difference between Paris Hilton and magi except blonde just like magi cannot tell some differences in Asians.
>>866 Chances are most people, if not all, have racism deep in their hearts. Being interested in another culture proves none. Do you honestly believe there are no racist foreigners living in Japan?
>>867 No, I don't. we have thousands of people from North Korea here and they have anti-japan feelings. We can't deny it. But that's not the point I wanted to make here. Do you think people who make vlogs in Japanese like Magibon hate Japan? No, I don't think so.
>>871 Are you serious? Your best bet is to search for the website and check if you can take the auditions planed to be held someday (I'm not sure if there is, though).
In exchange for accuracy, however, Japanese people can't make an excuse when we are late on the dark side. hehe And I sometimes get irritated when I take the bus to the nearest station, especially when the road becomes heavily congested.. Like ,"HEY!! The train I have to get on is leaving in a minute!!".
Anyway, I guess it's a bit of pain to post by the cellphone..
>>892 まぎぼんは軍の話をしないのであまり興味がなさそう。 Magibon .Are you interested in the army? Japan is absorbed if you assigned to Japan though it is work. Okinawa base camp is a good place.
>>910 Hello, Magibon! What movie did you see today?
As for me, I've just watched Harry Potter 4 on DVD. As it turned out, lots and lots were cut off from the original English version.. Had I not read the book, I wouldn't have understood the storyline..
>>911 You too! Well, a good afternoon first. ^_^ >>912 I took some pictures of my little sister. "Go digital" is a slang term that means trading in older things for digital things.
>>913 Though we've seen it many times, we watched "Home Alone." We've had it for so many years, it is VHS! ^v^ I know what you mean! When Harry Potter first became popular, I was just going into high school and the older of my little sisters was in grade school. She read the books, so I didn't want to, hahaha. When I saw the movies, I liked them, but I definitely didn't understand some of them. Of course, my friends who read the books understood. ^_^' >>914 It's more like, she says there's nothing wrong with her old camera, so she doesn't want to buy a new one. That's OK, but it's expensive to buy and develop film if you take a lot of pictures. And, it takes a long time. -_-'
Is it painful to be alive, and does magibon want to have ended the life? I drink if there is a medicine to die if it drinks. Has magibon thought about the suicide? Living until 80 is serious.
Anyway, with Magibon here, the thread becomes energetic as if a dandelion is in its bloom! It's nice! I love it.
>>915 "home alone".. I see! I guess it's like Miyazki Hayao's animes. We (at least I) have watched them many times but they are still very popular.
Haha, your sister read Harry Potter in her childhood? Well, I was older than her when I first read it. By the way, I'm not sure if I can talk about things like this in here, but I met an interesting expression on the said film. It's "take the mickey out of someone". I wonder it has something to do with Mickey Mouse.
I noticed a thread was built for Magibon and her fans lately, and honestly, I don't know what KGKGKG is.. Does that make sense to Magibon? It's kind of like some secret password.
>>934 What are you talking about? I have no idea who the popular users, but isn't it ridiculous to ask their parents to get devorced? I think they just couldn't help it...
>>927 Everyone gets really sad sometimes. Things get better though. ^_^ >>929 I think I slept untill... ten o'clock maybe? 11? I'm not really sure. Why did your sister care if you slept? >>931 People of all ages read those books. Children, teens, and adults. ^_^ "Take the mickey out of someone" was in a Harry Potter movie? I've never heard of it, but it might be a British saying. I don't think it has to do with Mickey Mouse though. I have heard people say "slip someone a mickey" which means sneaking a drug into someone's drink.
I'm sorry for leaving suddenly last night. My stepfather came downstairs to sleep in a reclining chair because his back hurt. The computer would have disturbed him. He took the day off, so I wonder if he'll sleep downstairs again tonight?
