Gate Activation & Composition: The Stargate is made of a quartzite metal not found on earth (naquadah). Naquadah is found on the planet in the movie (Abydos) as well as several others that the gate leads to. The metal is the only known element that absorbs (and energizes with) neutrinos. Somehow, when energized with neutrinos, the gate forms a stable artificial wormhole with another gate. It will not react with any other substance -- radiation, particle bombardment, fire, pressure, etc. The inner dial of the gate turns like the bevel of a watch. There are 39 symbols on the dial. When the dial is turned to seven of the symbols in a certain order (like a combination lock) it activates the gate between Earth and the planet to which that combination correlates. The combinations, as set up by the creators of the gate, correspond to the points needed to vector a location in three dimensional space where the planet resides. The last symbol is always the point of origin.
The Iris: The Air Force learns by Daniel Jackson's example on Abydos, and by the actions of the ancient Egyptians, that if the Gate is buried under a strong, substantial substance, it blocks the path of anyone or anything attempting to pass through it. Therefore, the Air Force built a giant iris which closes very quickly over the gate The iris is so close to the event horizon (less than 10 micrometers) that it won't allow anything to rematerialize on our side. Therefore it will block anything from coming through the gate uninvited. If someone tries to come through the gate with the iris closed, their molecules would not have a chance to rematerialize (they cease to exist). The SG teams carry a small transmitter capable of sending a coded signal through the gate, notifying the SGC which team would like the gate opened. This device is called a G.D.O. Once the signal is sent (from the G.D.O.) it is safe to pass through the Stargate. The iris is then closed behind the travelers immediately upon their arrival on Earth.
Gate Travel: Gate travel is one way. A person cannot go through the gate, leave it open, and then step back through it. The gate has to be stopped and then restarted from the opposite planet in order to travel back to the other end. The only thing thing that can travel two ways through the gate are radio waves (which the M.A.L.P. transmits back to Earth).
Who made the Stargate? It was originally believed that the Goa'uld had constructed the Stargate network, but this was soon proved false. The Goa'uld found the gate system and used it to transport humans from Earth to planets throughout the galaxy. The true builders of the Stargates are a race known as the Ancients, who have some startling connections with Earth many millions of years ago. The Ancients were allies of the Asgard, the Nox, and the Furlings, but - according to the Asgard - have since moved on from our part of the universe.
How many chevrons are on the Stargate? The Stargate contains nine chevrons. Although the gate has nine chevrons, typically only seven of these are used when dialing from a gate. In the episode The Fifth Race, an eighth chevron was activated (thanks to the knowledge of the Ancients downloaded into Colonel O'Neill's brain) and Carter noted, "The extra chevron must add a new distance calculation to the existing points, like a different area code." So far, the eighth chevron has been used only once (on the Earth Stargate), and the purpose or function of the ninth chevron is still unknown.
Why is the team called SG-1? The "SG" designation denotes that the team is a part of the Stargate program, while the number following the Stargate designation is to distinguish between separate Stargate teams. Certain teams have special duties within the Stargate program. Listed below are some of the special designation teams noted thus far in the series:
Special Team Designations: SG-3 - Marine combat unit, lead by Colonel Makepeace. SG-5 - Marine combat unit. SG-7 - Scientific Corps. SG-8 - Medical team. SG-9 - Diplomatic Corps., led by attorney Major Stan Kovachek. SG-11 - Engineering Corps.
What does this abbreviation stand for? M.A.L.P. Mobile Analytic Laboratory Probe, which travels through the Stargate to unexplored offworld locations, determining whether or not it is safe for human teams to proceed through the Stargate. D.H.D.Dial Home Device: activates the Stargate. G.D.O.Garage Door Opener: transmits a signal to open the iris placed over the Stargate on Earth. F.R.E.D. Field Remote Expeditionary Device: carries supplies for field units on the other side of the Stargate. With six wheels, FRED can navigate almost any terrain. T.E.R. Transphase Eradication Rod: detects objects operating in the light spectrum 180 degrees out of phase of human vision, like the alien race the Re'tu.
Why does every culture SG-1 encounters speak English? Practical reasons that come with television production. The time contraints of an hour-long episode mean that it would become a major hinderance to the story each week if SG-1 had to spend the first 10 minutes of each episode learning to communicate with a new species
STARGATE The network of ancient devices throughout the universe allows instant travel between worlds A massive, circular ring with an inner track of 39 symbols representing star constellations, capable of sending people and objects hundreds of thousands of lightyears via an interstellar conduit called a "wormhole." The Stargate, constructed millenia ago by the Ancients, is made of the alien mineral naquadah and weighs about 64,000 pounds. One side of the gate holds nine equally-spaced, V-shaped locking mechanisms, or "chevrons," capable of locking at least seven constellations in place via a freely-spinning inner track. The first six glyphs lock down a point in space, while the seventh represents the point of origin. When the seventh chevron locks, an unstable energy vortex emerges from the gate, incinerating everything in its wake. Once the vortex is gone and the event horizon is established, outbound travel may commence. Once objects have exited the other side, the Stargate has the capability of shutting itself off.
The Stargate network extends beyond our own galaxy, and includes many thousands of gates. Most gates are paired with a dial-home device (D.H.D.), by which a user dials an address to another world. The S.G.C. does not have a D.H.D., and instead has rigged a computer system to access the gate's systems and dial addresses.
In the Pegasus Galaxy, some Stargates have been placed in space in orbit of planets, rather than on their surfaces. Rather than using a connected D.H.D., space-based gates are powered by three power nodes, and dialing is accessed by a panel on a ship. The Stargate is essentially an enormous superconductor, capable of harnessing power from a wide variety of energy sources, especially electricity. The inner track is a safety feature. When the gate has absorbed enough energy this track will unlock, allowing a manual dial in case something dire has occurred to the D.H.D.
DIAL-HOME DEVICE A companion to the Stargate, it powers the gate and dials a destination Device that controls the Stargate, more commonly known as the D.H.D. The dial-home device, constructed by the Ancients, has 38 of the 39 symbols on its Stargate (minus the point of origin), allowing the user to "dial" any desired destination. Despite the advanced technology, the device has a limited power supply. Unlike the dialing computer, the D.H.D. does not require the inner track of the Stargate to unlock and spin in order to establish a wormhole. Instead, it is capable of "quick dialing," where pressing the seven glyphs on the D.H.D. are all that are needed to open a gateway.
In case of an overload, the master control crystal can be removed and reinstalled. If a pattern was held in the memory buffer without being reintegrated by the receiving gate, this process will allow the person or item to complete
the reintegration process. Periodically, the D.H.D. initiates a correlative update program, in which it automatically dials several nearby Stargates and transmits to their D.H.D.s revised coordinate data, in order compensate for stellar drift and to maintain the uniformity of the system software.
In the Pegasus Galaxy, not all Stargates require a D.H.D. to operate : Space-based gates are powered instead by three power nodes, and dialing is accessed by a panel on a ship. D.H.D.s on planets there, however, are very similar, but with a blue button in the center.
ASCENSION Moving from a corporeal to non-corporeal form; ascended beings live on another plane
A term used to describe the process of transcending to a higher plane of existence. Ascension has been accomplished by the Ancients, and a number of other beings they have assisted. One ascended being in particular -- Oma Desala -- has made it a personal quest to help others ascend. 変則的にアザーズ?の事もひっぱってきました。
NAQUADAH Powerful mineral that serves as the building block for all Goa'uld technology Heavy mineral used in constructing the Stargate, Goa'uld technology, and the quantum mirror. Naquadah is the building-block for all Goa'uld technology, and (though the Goa'uld did not build the Stargates) seems to be the only material capable of handling the massive amounts of energy required to create a stable wormhole. The mineral also has highly explosive properties, making it useful for enhancing the yield of bombs, missiles, and the like. It has at least two variants: liquid naquadah, used to power Jaffa staff weapons, and naquadria, which is more volatile and powerful. Naquadah is rather rare, and does not exist naturally in Earth's solar system.
Naquadah is also a part of the Goa'uld's genetic make-up. Its presence gives them (as well as someone who has had a symbiote die inside of them, such as Samantha Carter) the ability to use Goa'uld technology such as a hand device or healing device, and to sense the presence of other Goa'uld within a range of a few feet.
WORMHOLE Interdimensional conduit allowing matter to travel from one gate to another
An energy conduit formed between two active Stargates. A Stargate transfers a person or object into energy as it passes through the event horizon, then transmits it through the wormhole to the receiving Stargate -- which then reconstructs the matter in its original form. Wormholes traverse vast distances across the galaxy, and even between galaxies. The conduit does not always exist, but is formed only between two active Stargates. An object can travel in only one direction in a wormhole, through the initiating gate. the yield of bombs, missiles, and the like. It has at least two variants: liquid naquadah, used to power Jaffa staff weapons, and naquadria, which is more volatile and powerful. Naquadah is rather rare, and does not exist naturally in Earth's solar system. もし、こうやって海外サイトからデータ引っ張ってくるのがご迷惑でしたら仰ってください。 考えます。
ASGARD MOTHERSHIP Feared by Goa'uld across the galaxy, the Asgard mothership is the main arsenal of defense for the Asgard fleet. Incorporating the general shape of Thor's Hammer at its bow, the Asgard mothership is a relatively flat vessel with two vertical hyperdrive engines at the stern, giving the ship a sleek, streamlined look. Within the vessel are many labyrinth-like, curved corridors in exotic, violet tones. The ship is equipped with a deceleration drive to facilitate the return to normal velocities after exiting hyperspace. The ship is also equipped with advanced weapons, and multiple transporter arrays.
The most well-known of all Asgard motherships is the Asgard ship Beliskner, commanded by Supreme Commander Thor and nicknamed "Thor's Chariot." It was the flagship of the fleet before being destroyed in Earth's atmosphere. 翻訳ありがとうございます・・ 凄く助かります。 サイトの情報量がかなりあるので コンプリートは難しいと思いますが ファンとしては完成させたいものですよね。 お手すきの時で結構ですので宜しくお願いします。
PROMETHEUS Earth's first vessel capable of interstellar travel, built using alien technology Code name for the X-303, Earth's first large-scale vessel capable of interstellar travel. The vessel is equipped with hyperspace engines, and can also operate in a planet's atmosphere and land on the surface. Research and development for the hyperdrive -- powered by naquadria -- cost the U.S. over $2 billion. Prometheus' main purpose is to serve as a platform for the defense of Earth. The ship can achieve orbit in less than 30 seconds, and utilizing the sub-light engines, can travel at 110,000 miles per second. The corridors of the vessel are constructed of trinium alloys.
Prometheus dwarfs its two predecessors, the X-301 Interceptor and the X-302, which accommodate only two people each. The ship is equipped with X-302 gliders, which can be launched and received through a launch bay even when the ship is in flight. It was intended to serve as the prototype for a new fleet of space-faring vessels
AL'KESH Goa'uld mid- range bomber, effective at doing large- scale damage A Goa'uld mid-range bomber. The mid-sized Al'kesh is maneuverable, heavily-armed, and capable of firing enormous blasts of plasma energy. HA'TAK A standard class, pyramid- shaped Goa'uld mother- ship A Goa'uld mothership, tetrahedral in shape. Ha'taks facilitate the transport of Goa'uld and theirJaffa armies. They are also significant forces in attacking worlds from space, but are capable of atmospheric flight and landing on a planet's surface. (Typically, pyramids are utilized as landing platforms.) The Ha'tak is armed with powerful energy weapons, shields, ring transporters, and are capable of launching entire squadrons of death gliders. It utilizes crystal-based technology for ship's functions, and is built around a centralized engine room and a command bridge -- called the Pel'tak.
DEATH GLIDER A Goa'uld short-range attack ship, death gliders are heavily armed Two-man attack vessel designed for combat in both space and an atmosphere. Death gliders are outfitted with broadcast speakers to allow the pilots to terrorize the populations beneath verbally, as well as with their weapons. They are outfitted with removable staff cannons, two to three times larger than standard staff weapons, but utilizing the same form of energy. Gliders are capable of landing on smooth terrains, but are primarily designed to facilitate terror and obedience from those beneath. TEL'TAK Unarmed Goa'uld cargo ships, often used by the Tok'ra and SG-1 A Goa'uld cargo ship. Also known as a "scout ship," the mid-sized vessels typically carry four escape pods and a set of transport rings, and are unarmed. Some models are equipped with a stealth device, allowing the ship to become invisible. The Tel'tak also has the ability to self-destruct. The ship is divided into two major sections -- the flight deck, onto which the main entrance opens, and the cargo area. They are separated by a bulkhead, which is removable to allow for more space during flight. The ship is also equipped with a bathroom.
ASGARD SCIENCE VESSEL A space-faring ship used by the Asgard Loki for conducting scientific research in orbit of other planets. The Asgard vessel is a slightly different configuration than other Asgard ships, equipped with various instruments designed specifically to hold and analyze subjects, and created cloned duplicates of individuals. It is equipped with long-range communicators and, like other Asgard ships, can go undetected in orbit by current Earth technologies.

Developed on the surface of PX9-757, the vessel carried several advancements that surpassed the standard Goa'uld Ha'tak-class ship encountered previously by Stargate Command. The power core of the ship was sealed entirely in trinium, linked to a liquid cooling system stemming all directions in the mountainside construction facility. This zone was protected by Goa'uld force shielding and Jaffa patrols. An attempt at sabotage by the Tok'ra during the ship's construction failed. However, when the Tok'ra Anise supplied SG-1 members Jack O'Neill, Samantha Carter and Daniel Jackson with Atoniek armbands, the team disobeyed orders, travelled to PX9-757 and successfully destroyed ship by destroying the engine cooling systems with C-4. Months later Apophis appeared in the Tobin system aboard an advanced, never-before seen mothership to negotiate an alliance with Heru-ur. Though it was of a different class than the ship under construction on 757, it is possible he had been constructing another prototype craft on another planet. Alternately, he may have gained access to this ship after he defeated Sokar.
PYRAMID SHIP An ancient Goa'uld mothership design, pyramidal in shape, which the parasitic race has used for thousands of years. Ra himself used this type of craft to capture aboriginal humans from Earth many thousands of years ago. The vessels routinely use pyramids as their landing platforms on various planets -- which Daniel Jackson speculated was the reason for the construction of the pyramids. Once landed, the pyramid ship's primary hull retracts into several distinct plates, as well as creating an optional "watch tower" at the top of the ship, presumably where the Goa'uld's throne room resides.
Pyramid ships are equipped with at least one set of transport rings, as well as at least one death glider bay. It is unknown if the vessel itself is armed with Goa'uld weapons, although this is highly likely. Though this term describes a specific vessel class, it is also used as a general term for any Goa'uld ship that incorporates a pyramid into its design -- such as a Ha'tak.
ESCAPE POD, ANUBIS' Flat and circular in design, Anubis' escape pod is capable of launching from his mothership even as the vessel is breaking apart, and has the ability to travel through hyperspace by tself -- the smallest Goa'uld vessel known to have that capability. When Anubis used it to escape from the atmosphere of Langara, the small vessel was able to evade the sensors of several imposing Goa'uld Ha'taks before escaping into hyperspace. This craft disconnects from the central framework of the mothership, where Anubis' super-weapon launches its blast of energy. It is unclear if the escape pod also contains the technology, as well as the Eyes that powered the weapon.

NEEDLE-THREADER A very old Goa'uld fighter, geometrically designed for traveling through the Stargate. Bra'tac hid the "needle-threader" on Chulak for over a century, until he and Teal'c realized it was necessary to reveal it and send it into battle against Hathor's army. The craft is armed with Goa'uld plasma-based weapons. Two people can occupy it at once. Weaponry is controlled by the officer at the stern, while the officer at the bow navigates the ship. Few people can fly this type of ship; flying through a Stargate is euphemistically called "threading the needle," and takes great piloting skill.
O'NEILL, THE An advanced Asgard space vessel, serving as the template for a new class of Asgard battleship. The Asgard named the craft after Colonel Jack O'Neill after a very effective impression, as the Asgard saw humanity's potential in him. The vessel was equipped with advanced weapons and defenses that surpassed any of the previous Asgard starships -- the most advanced ship ever constructed by the Asgard. This was enough to make Replicators pursue it. A trio of Replicator-infested Asgard ships gave chase to the remotely controlled vessel, leading them away from an Asgard world under threat. Once in hyperspace, the O'Neill was blown up, oblitarating the Replicator-controlled ships that had been in pursuit.
OSIRIS' SHIP A small craft, similar to a Tel'tak in basic design, hidden under an Egyptian sand dune for thousands of years. A portion of the vessel appears as a large spike, which extends from the ventral side of the ship during launch. The ship was reactivated when Osiris, in the body of Dr. Sarah Gardner, arrived with the key to activate the ship to take her away from Earth and rejoin the Goa'uld. USED BY - Osiris FIRST APPEARED - The Curse
REPLICATOR SHIP A powerful vessel under Replicator control. It is most likely that the Replicators seized control of the vessel from the species that created it. But the advanced ship has proven extremely effective in defeating enemy vessels, allowing the Replicators to spread to a ship disabled in battle and spread to other parts of the galaxy. The ship is armed with advanced shields and weapons which are capable of disabling even the largest of Goa'uld craft, including Apophis' mothership. Upon encountering a new type of craft, the Replicator patrol ship launches a blinding, yet harmless scanning beam. Vessels that are not deemed a threat -- or of sufficient technology to infest -- are ignored.
ASCHEN HARVESTER A massive antigravity "barge" built by the Aschen, designed to collect and store crops obtained from the farming lands of Aschen-controlled planets. The Harvester stores and maintains crops, then transports the yield en-masse through the Stargate to the Aschen homeworld. The gate on Aschen farm planets such as Volia is attached to a portable, multi-directional platform, which the ship can activate to automatically lay the Stargate flat. The harvester then dials the gate remotely, and dumps the crop through the event horizon. The Aschen utilize hundreds of Harvesters on any given world, though they are used for more than collecting grain. Aboard each ship is at least one conference chamber suitable for conducting meetings, such as negotiations. The vessel is also equipped with an Aschen matter tranporter, by which individuals may come and go while the ship is in flight. There are also restroom facilities. The Harvesters are also capable of launching Aschen bio-weapons though the same dorsal orifice by which goods are sent through the Stargate, making the ship a potential threat now that relations between Earth and the Aschen have been severed. F-302 The second glider completely constructed by the U.S. government, and the first to be the successful template for an series of spacecraft, the F-302 is renamed from the X-302 experimental class vessel. It is armed with advanced weaponry and is extremely durable. The F-302 can be deconstructed to be moved through the Stargate, and be reconstructed on the other side. It is propelled by two standard thrusters and one large booster rocket, as its predecessor. Colonel Jack O'Neill wanted to see what the craft was capable of, and successfully destroyed and evaded a three-pronged squadron of Goa'uld death gliders.
Like its predecessor, the F-302 cannot sustain a hyperspace conduit for any extended period of time, due to the instability of naquadria, used to power the hyperspace engine. But, also like its predecessor, it is capable of short bursts at hyperspace, covering several kilometers in an instant. USED BY - Humans FIRST APPEARED - Fallen
X-302 Completely constructed by the U.S. government (with several reverse-engineered Goa'uld components), the X-302 was the second prototype for Earth's orbital defense, but the first to carry a naquadria-enhanced hyperspace generator -- making it the first man-made ship capable of interstellar travel. The design and configuration of the ship is similar to the X-301, based on the Goa'uld death glider. The X-302 is slightly larger, and like its predecessor, accommodates two people.
The Prometheus (the X-303) is equipped with a number of X-302s, capable of being launched and received through a landing bay.

X-301 Earth's first prototype for an outer space combat vessel, intended to serve as a platform from which Earth could be defended from attacking ships. The X-301 Interceptor was a retrofit of two of Apophis' death gliders, armed with two Aim 128A air-to-air missiles, each carrying naquadah-enhanced warheads. After the tests had been successful, the ship was to be assigned to orbital defense under the auspices of Stargate Command. After the initial test flights failed and the X-301 was lost, the program seems to have been abandoned in favor of the X-302 and X-303 projects.
SEBERUS, THEOriginally a prison transport vessel under the command of Warrick. After all of her crew but Warrick were killed after the ship crashed on a barren planet, SG-1 arrived with a naquadah reactor to restore power to the vessel, permitting Warrick to leave with his recaptured prisoners. Jonas Quinn recognized the ship's name from Celtic history, where the "Sebrus" was an ancient, sea-faring prison transport. The Seberus is armed with sonic weapons technology as well as other, more conventional devices. It uses liquid nitrogen to fuel an ion propulsion system. It also has a docking collar on its ventral side. Upon returning to Hebridan, the Seberus was refitted for competition in the 59th Loop of Kon Garat. Warrick requested Samantha Carter refit his ship with a naquadah reactor to improve the ship's speed and general performance during the race. (The device was on loan, however, and Warrick was not allowed to keep it after the race.) The Seberus nearly completed the entire race but was too far behind to succeed, as it had been sabotaged by Del Tynan in a plot to make race competitor Muirios the winner of the race. Warrick's brother Eamon serves as the Seberus' mechanic. Warrick intended on becoming a cargo runner, and was hired by contest winner La'el Montrose as her co-pilot on Tech Con's lucrative deep-space exploration contract. ORAN, THE Hebridian space craft, captained by Golon Jarlath. It is likely that this was the vessel Jarlath used to smuggle weapons to the outer mining colonies of Hebridan. If so, the ship was most likely impounded until his release from prison. The Oran was disabled prior to entering stage three of the 59th Loop of Kon Garat. Jarlath refused to install emergency reserves in favor of leaving more room on his ship for extra weapons. He escaped via a docking collar on the dorsal side of the vessel that led up into Warrick's ship, the Seberus.

MOTHERSHIP, ANUBIS' Constructed with advanced shields and weaponry from the Ancients, Anubis' mothership is the ultimate Goa'uld creation for conquest of words. It is capable of obliterating entire land masses from orbit. The entire vessel is essentially an enormous super-weapon designed to work with six crystals, or "eyes," of various Goa'uld. The computer system on the ship is protected with elaborate ciphers coded in the oldest dialect of the Ancients. When in atmospheric flight, Anubis' mothership's shields can only be maintained at a maximum of 40 percent, making it highly susceptible to attack. The vessel has a ventilation shaft that aids in the cooling of its super-weapon. SG-1 destroyed the ventilation shaft while the weapon was powered, destroying the weapon. The mothership is equipped with an escape pod, which is capable of travelling through hyperspace on its own. Anubis' used the vessel to escape when his mothership was destroyed over the planet Langara by the United Alliance of the System Lords, whose fleet was commanded by Baal.
