【物理】08年ノーベル物理学賞は素粒子分野で日本出身者３人が受賞

南部陽一郎・小林誠・益川敏英氏の３人が、2008年ノーベル物理学賞を受賞しましました。
ただし、南部氏はアメリカに帰化したので、日本人の受賞者は２名となります。


南部氏は、「素粒子物理学と核物理学における自発的対称性の破れの発見」が受賞理由です。
「対称性の自発的破れ」という概念を提唱し、素粒子に質量を与える起源を提唱したことが
評価されました。

小林・益川氏は、「クォークが自然界に少なくとも三世代以上ある事を予言する、
対称性の破れの起源の発見」が受賞理由です。1973年にクォークがまだ３種類しかない時代に、
６種類 存在することを予言したころが評価されました。
