【受賞】私立武蔵高の川崎さんが「銀」 第３７回国際化学オリンピック

台湾・台北市で開かれた第３７回国際化学オリンピックで２４日、私立武蔵高
（東京都）３年の川崎瑛生（かわさき・あきお）さん（１７）＝埼玉県和光市在住＝が
銀メダルを受賞した。川崎さんは昨年、日本初の金メダルを受賞しており２年連続の栄誉。
私立創価高（東京都）３年、鹿又喬平（かのまた・きょうへい）さん（１７）＝仙台市出身＝と
私立開成高（東京都）２年、永田利明（ながた・としあき）さん（１７）＝埼玉県桶川市在住、
私立神戸女学院高（兵庫県）２年の今村麻子（いまむら・あさこ）さん（１７）＝大阪府吹田市＝
の３人も銅メダルと日本代表全員が好成績を収めた。
国際化学オリンピックは１９６８年にハンガリーなど東欧３カ国が始めた高校生の
学力試験から発展した。日本は２００３年から参加。今年は５９カ国の２２５人が
各５時間の筆記試験と実験に挑んだ。（共同）

Taipei, July 24 (CNA) Taiwan students won two gold medals and two silvers in the 37th
International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) which concluded in Taipei Sunday.
The Taiwan team ranked fifth in the annual international chemistry competition of secondary
school students, falling behind South Korea, Vietnam, Iran and Russia. Taiwan ranked seventh
in last year's chemistry Olympiad.
South Korea won four gold medals, making it the top prize winner in the 2005 IChO, while
Vietnam came in second by winning three golds and one silver. Iran, Russian and Taiwan had
same medal count, with two golds and two silvers, but they ranked third, fourth and fifth in that order.
The event drew the participation of 225 students from 59 countries around the world. A total
of 26 gold medals, 48 silvers and 79 bronzes were presented in honor of outstanding contestants.
