フラー神学校、東京でエクステンション講座開講

世界６０カ国以上の学生４０００人以上が在籍し、プロテスタントでは最大規模のフラー神学校（米カルフォルニア州バサデナ）が
２１日から、東京都文京区のオリベット大学オンラインキャンパス・チャペルルームで集中講座「２００８年春学期エクステンションセミナリー」を開始した。
このコースは、同神学校の異文化研究科修士課程の集中講座として行われ、来月２日まで２週間にわたって行われる。
今期は韓国、日本、米国、欧州の宣教師や牧師、宣教機関の関係者ら約２０人が参加。年に春・秋の２回の集中講座が行われ、必要単位を満たせば２年間で異文化研究修士（M.A. in Inter-Cultural Studies）を取得できる。
１日目に行われたオリエンテーションでは、同神学校の宣教大学院（韓国語）のイ・ガンギル副院長が、同神学校の歴史と組織、また宣教大学院の特徴について説明。
受講生らに「フラーの授業を通して、既に持っている思考を広げ、同じ事柄、人物、社会を見るにしても、その視点が広く多様なものとなって欲しい」と語った。
今期授業を担当するのは、ポール・ピアソン教授（宣教史・ラテンアメリカ研究）とパク・キホ教授（同院長）。
ピアソン教授は、「神の民の拡張（Expansion of People of God）」と題して、宣教学的な視点から世界史を考察。
パク教授は、「宣教における弟子訓練（Discipleship in Mission）」と題して、他文化圏での教会設立や韓国教会の歴史、韓国宣教の今後の課題などについて伝える予定だ。

Olivet University Granted Accreditation by ABHE

Olivet University has been granted accreditation by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE).
The announcement was made by ABHE Accreditation Director Dr. Randall E. Bell on February 20, 2009 at the Association’s annual conference in Orlando, Florida.
“This is major step forward for the University and we thank God,” said University President Dr. David Randolph.
The recognition means Olivet University is an accredited Christian academic institution with the Association, and is positioned for future growth, he explained.
ABHE, which is approved by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized institutional accrediting agency, also is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Founded in 1947, ABHE is comprised of approximately 200 postsecondary institutions and over 35,000 students
throughout North America specializing in biblical ministry formation and professional leadership education.
