Four breakaway members of Japan's doomsday Aum Supreme Truth cult
were arrested on Thursday for allegedly killing a woman by beating
her with bamboo swords in a bid to erase her bad karma, Tokyo police said.
The four are suspected of battering the woman with swords used for
the Japanese martial art Kendo as part of training the cult calls
"Karma Otoshi", which means "dropping karma", a police spokesperson said.
