the honour paid to the saints, while latria means worship
given to God alone, and hyperdulia the veneration offered

ちゃんと、latria と hyperdulia との区別がされているでしょ。

礼拝の "latria" は "worship"、
それに対してマリアに対する崇敬 "hyperdulia" は "veneration"
になってますね。

Oxford English Dictionary で、"latria"に対応する"worship" の項目を調べると、
"homage or reverence paid to a deity"とありました。
"deity"とは「神性」のことです。

それに対し、"hyperdulia"に対応する"venerate"を調べると、
1. regard with deep respect. 2. revere on account of sanctity etc.
となってました。即ち、私が度々「敬ってるの」って言った通りのことを意味しますね。
