Dear Mr.
I have never met Mr. Kuriki. When He has come to Kathmandu to climb, he has always been met by one of my assistants.
Therefore any claim that I told him anything or praised him in any way is not correct.
Furthermore, we do not endorse any climbers' claims. We record them only.
My assistant met him a few days ago on Mr. Kuriki's return from Everest.
He told me that he did not say that the Everest route Kuriki said he followed to 7,800m. had never been used before but asked for a picture of the route.
The route does not follow a couloir; Kuriki said he did not, as almost all climbers do, go around to the right of the Geneva Spur.
We await the picture.
My assistant tells me that Kuriki never used bottled oxygen. But he told Kuriki that his climbs were not solos.
