As Americans and lawyers, we have faith that justice ultimately will be served
through our legal system. Regardless of the lawsuit’s outcome, no one should
forget the immeasurable pain suffered by the Comfort Women during World War II.
The Memorial should not be used as a symbol to encourage hate of any kind
or the expression of hostility towards others. By the same token, a lawsuit that
seeks the removal of the Memorial should not foster ethnic division and threaten
to unravel the fabric of the progressive, multiethnic community we have worked
hard to build.

おおまかに訳すと：
像の撤去を訴える裁判の結果がどうなるかに関わらず
戦時中の慰安婦の痛みは忘れられるべきではない。
記念碑は互いへの憎しみや敵意を育む象徴であってはならない。
それと同様に記念碑を撤去を要望する訴えも民族間の分断を
育むものであってはならない。
韓国系への気遣いもあってのの言葉だろうね。
アジア系アメリカ人としてのスタンスでもある。
むやみに日本だけに肩入れできないのは分かる。
