yet the South Korea Foreign Minister has canceled a trip to Japan
because of the Japanese cabinet minister’s visit to a controversial war shrine.
Does that canceled trip concern you?
Is the United States doing anything to try to solve, soothe relations between these two allies?
MR. VENTRELL: Well, we hope the countries in the region can work together to resolve their differences in an amicable way through dialogue.
We believe that strong and constructive relations between the countries in the region, particularly our allies of South Korea and Japan,
promote peace and stability and are in the interests of those countries and, indeed, of the United States.
