ＡＰ通信によると、メキシコ南東部のリゾート地カンクンで１月２９日、体重６．４キロの巨大な男児が誕生した。
平均的な新生児の２倍の体重で、病院は赤ちゃんを見にきた近所の人たちでにぎわっている。
男児の母（２３）は７年前にも５．２キロの女児を産んだという。
ギネスブックによると、これまでで最も重い新生児は、１９５５年にイタリアで生まれた１０．２キロ。
