Subject: why are Nadia fans so upset ???

My points in my previous message were probably not very clear.
Let me try to state my points again.

#1: WHY CAN'T THEY ADMIT IT?
One of the Atlantis co-directors, unlike other creative people like Lucas,
denies any influence from Nadia, let alone any guilt of plagiarism.
This arrogance is what infuriates Nadia fans (and others like me).

#2: NOT THE FIRST TIME
This is not the first time that something like this happened between
Disney and a beloved Japanese animation. Remember Lion King?
Everyone has a fond memory or two of something from his/her childhood.
To me (and to some Americans for that matter), Kimba the White Lion happens
to be such a thing. And Disney trampled on it, saying they'd never seen Kimba
before they'd completed the Lion King production, and making the majority
of the American public into believing that Lion King is one of the greatest
animation films of all time. Then Atlantis/Nadia happened.

#3 NOT JUST INFLUENCE
The resemblance is beyond the usual Hollywoody ripoffs/homages/spoofs
level. Or so it seems.

#4 DISNEY'S DOUBLE STANDARDS
Disney itself is very strict when other films even briefly use something
barely recongnizable as a Disney character or some plot line remotely similar to
one of their own. To many people(anime fans or not, Japanese or not),
many elements of Atlantis are downright copying (not just a result of
influence or coincidneces), AT LEAST BY DISNEY'S OWN STANDARD of
distinguishing influence from stealing.
