Rypos has received California Air Resources Board (CARB) Level 2 Plus verification for its active diesel particulate filter (Active DPF/C) for Tier 3 or older diesel engines used in rubber tired gantry (RTG) crane applications operating on CARB diesel (ULSD) with less than or equal to 15 pmm sulfur. The Active DPF/C uses an electrically regenerating filter followed by a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) to reduce PM emissions qualifying it for Level 2 Plus verification. Rypos said the Level 2 Plus verification means that the system will reduce diesel PM emissions by 50% or more and meets the January 2009 NO2 limit. http://www.dieselprogress.com/emissionstechnologyforum/index_news_detail.asp?pick=428&fm=N
