沖縄に配備される予定のオスプレイ、4月に起きた墜落事故の原因特定できず

CV-22の明確な墜落原因はいまだ判明せず

４月９日アフガニスタンで４人の命が失われたCV-22の墜落について決定的な原因はいまだわかっていないとのことです。
事故調査の監督者であるDonald Harvel准将によるといくつかの要因があったようです。乗務員は初めての戦闘任務であった。天候に恵まれず予測も難しい気候であった。
視界不良により機体の状態を維持することが困難な状況に陥りエンジン出力が落ちてしまっていた。
しかしこれらは「右翼エンジンの著しい損壊･フライトレコーダー破損」という状況ではどれも決定的な原因と呼ぶことはできず
アメリカ空軍はこれだけで結論をだすことはできないとのことです。

No clear cause found for fatal Osprey crash

Investigators found no definitive cause of a CV-22 Osprey crash that killed four people on April 9 in Afghanistan.
Brig. Gen. Donald Harvel, who oversaw the accident investigation, cited several factors as “substantially”
contributing to the crash: the crew’s push to accomplish their first combat mission, inadequate weather planning,
a poorly executed low-visibility approach with a tailwind, an unanticipated high rate of descent and engine power loss.
Investigators, however, could not satisfy the Air Force standard of determining a “clear and convincing” reason for the crash,
in part, because the flight incident recorder and the right engine were destroyed, according to the report released Thursday.

ちなみにUSMCはCV-22ではなく厳密にはMV-22です。
