Michael Phelps Involved In Automobile Accident, Swimmer Reportedly Uninjured
BALTIMORE, Md. --
Olympic swimming superstar Michael Phelps was in an automobile accident on Thursday evening in his hometown of Baltimore, Md., Access Hollywood has learned.
The 6’ 4” athlete was involved in a collision in downtown Baltimore just before 9 PM local time, according to Access’ affiliate NBC station, WBAL.
Police told WBAL that Phelps’ black Cadillac Escalade and a Honda Accord crashed at the East Biddle Street and West Calvert Street intersection.
An unidentified woman who was driving the Honda was taken to the hospital with injuries, however, they are not believed to be serious.
Phelps reportedly remained at the scene as authorities arrived and was still at the location of the incident an hour after the accident occurred. He was not injured, WBAL reported.
