OVERJOYED Amy Turnbull has been reunited with her precious pet cat ? after SIX YEARS.
Amy, 34, was devastated when Allsort vanished in 2003 and feared she would never see him again.
She searched high and low and launched a 'missing' poster campaign for the moggie but drew a blank.
So she was staggered when six years later she received a letter from a local vet saying that Allsort had been found ? and had been living just five streets away in Swindon, Wilts.
Mortgage broker Amy said: "It was one of the worst days of my life when I realised Allsort had gone. I was absolutely beside myself, it was horrific.
"I had given up all hope of ever finding him, it was terrible. I never thought in a million years I'd have him back."
It turned out that young Allsort ? then just a year old ? was taken in by a local elderly couple who thought he was a stray and made a fuss over him.
He moved on to other owners and when they took him to the vets an ID chip was discovered showing Amy was his owner.
She added: "I had seriously thought he was gone forever and that he was dead."
