May. 10th, 2007 -- Paramount Pictures announced today that it intends to construct a theme park in the South Korean city of Inchon. The park would be built along with the General Motors affiliate Daewoo, which would raise the estimated $1 billion to construct the park. The park would also be located on a 124-acre plot of land owned by Daewoo.
The attraction would include rides, a 300-room hotel, a water park, and shopping malls. Construction would begin this year and would be completed by 2014, although the park would be open for visitors as early as 2009.
The move would make Paramount the first foreign entertainment group to operate a park in South Korea, although other companies are considering doing so.
