London, May 10 : Japanese auto giant Toyota's hybrid green car, the Toyota Prius has been voted the most satisfying car to own in a recent poll.
The hybrid green car, which can run on petrol and electricity, shared the first place in the poll with the Lexus IS. Both scored 86.8 per cent against an industry average of 79 per cent in the poll.
The Prius switches between petrol and electric power to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, the greenhouse gas blamed for global warming. With its electric motor and petrol engine, it averages about 65.7miles per gallon.
Japanese models, Toyota, Lexus and Honda took nine of the top 12 places in the poll.
The poll was complied by global quality experts J.D Power in association with What Car? magazine and was based on feedback from motorists after two years of ownership.
According Steve Fowler, editor of What Car?, people's choice of Prius as the most satisfying car to own, clearly demonstrated rising consumer interest in environmentally-friendly cars in the UK.

stanbernadio(16 hours ago) Ya these cars suck...especially in quality, performance and looks. Also I've heard that a Prius is actually WORSE for the environment than an H2 because the batteries they use are bad for the environment to manufacture and impossible to recycle. The Ford Escape Hybrid is much better, at least it looks halfway decent and is more utilitarian.
mrjost55(1days ago) Thank you Clarkson, I totally agree. This car is just ugly - and all those hippies who are having wet dreams about it should shut up. If they wanna make hybrids, at least make them look nice.
