Google、Yahoo!、MSら、表現の自由とプライバシー保護ガイドラインを策定

Google、Microsoft、Vodafone、Yahoo!などの企業、大学、および人権保護団体が、インターネッ
トや通信技術が普及する中、危機にさらされがちな表現の自由とプライバシー保護を主張、グルー
プを形成した。

　複数の企業や大学、人権保護団体らは1月18日、表現の自由や人権が、法律や規制などによっ
て妨げられた場合、どのように対処するかのガイドラインを策定すると発表した。

　昨年、Business for Social Responsibility（BSR）がまとめ役となり、Google、Microsoft、Vodafone、
Yahoo!の4社が、ハーバード大学法科大学院のアドバイスを受けながら、表現の自由とプライバシ
ー保護を守るための話し合いを重ねた。

　一方で民主主義とテクノロジーセンター（CDT）を中心に集まった企業、投資家、人権保護団体
も、一部の国が人権を侵害する行動に出た場合、どのように対処するかについて討議を進めてい
た。その結果、両グループがまとまり、共同で目標達成のための枠組みを策定することになったと
いう。

　グループは2007年中に、ガイドラインの策定を完了する予定という。
