Genichi “Gen” Mizoguchi, was born into an historic legacy of famous Japanese Sushi Chefs,
where he worked in both his father and grandfather’s sushi restaurants in Tokyo.
Chef Gen has a remarkable career and expertise in traditional Japanese cuisine, both in kaiseki and sushi.
At the Tokyo Cookery Academy, he was awarded Bronze Prize for excellent work at the prestigious school for the culinary arts.
Two years ago he moved to the San Francisco Bay area to be a chef at the popular Hiro’s Restaurant in Petaluma.
However, he left after one year because he was offered the Executive Chef position for Tokyo restaurateur, Koji Imai’s first stateside restaurant,
Megu in the Tribeca section of New York City. Chef Gen is also a certified chef with certificate to handle, prepare and serve the mysterious,
and possibly poisonous, fugu (blowfish.
