Bob Dylan Dislikes Today's Music
NEW YORK (AP) - The times, they have a-changed.
Bob Dylan hates most modern music and fights with his teen-age daughter about her musical tastes.
``The radio makes hideous sounds,'' the 1960s pop culture icon tells Time magazine in its Sept. 17 issue out on newsstands Monday.
In an interview to promote his 43rd album ``Love and Theft,'' Dylan comments on some modern musicians and their work.
Of Beck, he suggests more focus: ``You just can't be that good at everything you touch.''
He says he hasn't really listened to controversial rapper Eminem (news - web sites), but adds, ``I almost feel like if anything is controversial, the guy's gotta be doing something right.''
In 1986, Dylan had a child with one of his backup singers, Carolyn Dennis, and they later married. They have since divorced. Dylan says he never tried to conceal the relationship, which most fans were unaware of at the time.
``It's not private to me,'' he told the magazine. ``I've never tried to hide anything. I mean, not that I know of.''
He says he can't discuss music with his daughter. ``I get in fights with her if I talk about music.''
