オレはこのことをずっと覚えてる
カージナルスがイベントで（試合前の）国歌斉唱の前に
子供達とフィールドに出たことがあったんだけど、
ソウはレフトに男の子と一緒に立ってたんだ。
国歌が流れ出すとソウは帽子を脱いで
（彼の国の国歌じゃないのにね。わかってると思うけど）
隣の男の子が帽子をかぶりっぱなしなことに気付いた。
オレ見てたんだけどソウはその子をつっついて帽子を指差したんだ。
そしたら男の子はあわてて帽子を脱いでさ。
思わずニッコリしちゃったよ。
これが人の手本になるってことだよね。ソウは素晴らしい人間だった。
ありがとうソウ、幸多からんことを。
I'll always remember this:
The Cardinals had a promotion where kids got to go out on the field
before the game and stand by a member of the team before the national anthem.
So was in left and had a kid standing next to him.
So took off his cap as the Star Spangled Banner began (not even his national anthem, mind you)
and when he saw the kid still wearing his, I watched him nudge the kid and point to his hat.
The kid quickly pulled his hat off his head and I couldn't help but smile.
That's what being a role model is all about, and So was a good one.

愚痴一つこぼさずにいつもベストを尽くし、気迫溢れるプレーで、
何年もチームのために素晴らしい働きをしてくれてたねー
俺のお気に入りの場面はっていうと、ソウが決勝スリーランを打った時に
ダン（ダンカン）とアル（プホルス）がソウに「ありがとう」って叫んでたところさ！
ソウはワグナーをカモしているし、最低2回はブレーブスからも打っていたなー
プホルスはリッジを、ソウはワグナーをお得意様にしてたな（この2行適当）
忘れもしないのが、ホワイトソックスをボコボコにした試合の後の事。
ソウはバッティンググローブやら何やら持ち物をファンにあげちゃってたよね！
多分後で道具がなくて困ってたんだろうけど、このことはチームの歴史の中でも
一番のバカ騒ぎの一つとして俺はずっと覚えておくよ！
You played a less than glorious role for the team for many years, always gave your best effort and hustle,
and never complained.In my eyes (and many others) you will always be a Cardinal.
Some of my favorite moments with the So-Man:
That game-winning three run homer: Dan and Al's call; "Thank You, So"
The fact that you own Billy Wagner, at least for a couple of ABs.Pujols can have Lidge, you've got Wagner.
After the WS was clinched, I still remember you deciding to give away the equipment (batting gloves, etc) to the fans.
Maybe you got in trouble for this, but I will always remember this as one of the most hilarious moments in Cardinal history.

ヤツが38のｵｻｰﾝだってことは知ってるさ。だけどコイツはすげえクラッチヒッターで鉄壁の野手だ。
ソウはいつでも出番に備えてて、常にプロフェッショナルだった。
ありがとうソウ…どっかでスタメンになれることを祈ってるよ。
セントルイスに来たらさ、うちのポンコツ投手陣から3ホーマーかましてくれよ。

I know he's 38...but the man was CLUTCH and a solid defender. He always was ready and always a pro.
Thank you So...I hope you catch on somewhere as a starter...come to town and hit 3 homers off our junk arms and stick it to us.
Worst move this offseason so far...We'll regret this more then if we move Rolen.
The monkeys at the St. Louis Zoo are smarter then this!
