母校でラグビー教室

八代郡氷川町出身で、ラグビー日本代表の中居智昭選手が２日、母校の町立
氷川中学校を訪問し、講演やラグビー教室を行った。

氷川町出身の中居選手は、氷川中、県立熊本工業高校を卒業。現在はラグビーの
強豪・東芝府中ラグビー部のフランカーとして活躍、また日本代表にも選ばれるなど
活躍中。

母校である氷川中の全校生徒１６５人の前で講演し「自分が納得して決めた道を
信じて進んでいってほしい」と話した。そして、桜のエンブレムが付いたラグビー
日本代表の練習着に着替え、タックルの仕方などを指導、またタッチラグビーで
一緒にプレーするなど、母校の後輩たちと一緒に爽やかな汗を流していた。
