Russian fighter jet crashes in Siberia, pilots eject safely

a source from the military said on Friday.
The pilots ejected prior to the plane hitting the ground and have been reported in satisfactory condition.
No injuries from civilians have been reported, though some houses were damaged by parts of the plane after impact.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the plane crashed at 7:30 a.m. Moscow time [03:30 GMT] 60 kilometers to
the northwest of the Step Airport in Siberia.
"The rooves of seven or eight houses in the village of Aga-Khangil were damaged by fragments from
the plane after it crashed," a spokesman from the regional administration told RIA Novosti.
He added that after the plane hit the ground and exploded it also ignited a stack of hay.
He confirmed that no one the ground was injured in the incident.
The Defense Ministry also confirmed there were no injuries on the ground.
The Russian Air Force has temporarily suspended all Su-25 flights pending an investigation into the cause of
the crash, a spokesman for the Air Force, Lt. Col. Vladimir Drik, said.
