Many TKD schools sell the black belt. They have made the black belt the end in and of itself rather than a means to an end. Some even advertise "Black Belt in One Year＠｀ Guaranteed!".
上スレで米国でのテコンド人気凋落とかあったけど、化けの皮が剥がれてきたってことか。
Simple. Taekwondo is the most commercialized＠｀ and therefore＠｀ is the most corrupted.

I saw any interesting programme on ★National Geographic★ the other night about TKD. Their research seemed to say that although there is a strong Karate influence as a result of the Japanese occupation＠｀ once WW2 ended＠｀ the Koreans sought to distance TKD greatly from its "Korean Karate" label by intermixing many aspects from Koreas traditional arts such as★ Tae Kyon★ which were all but ★destroyed during the occupation.★ They wanted to present an art that would truly represent Korea＠｀ its history and its people. They then began to use TKD not only as a martial art＠｀ but as a diplomatic tool and it seemed to "explode" onto the MA scene.
